Crochet owl pattern diagram description. Crocheted owls: patterns and description. A beautiful handbag for lovers of bright colors

From time to time, some animals or objects become super popular among needlewomen. Masters of completely different directions create images of such a popular animal. At one time everyone was knitting/sewing Teddy bears, and there was also a craze for amigurumi. For several years now, the image of an owl has been so relevant that the owl can be found in almost any creative work, be it sewing, knitting, embroidery, jewelry, crafts made of beads, wood, etc.

The owl is an unusual bird; there are many fairy tales and legends about it among different peoples. People love to attribute mystical properties to the owl. An owl can become a kind of amulet, a symbol of wisdom. Small items in the shape of an owl are crocheted: a keychain, a toy, a rattle, a decoration for a children's room. A crocheted owl can also be crocheted in a large size: a pillow in the shape of an owl, a wall panel or a carpet for a children's room.

The owl theme is also popular in clothing. Even adults knit hats with an owl or in the shape of an owl; mittens, gloves, and mittens are decorated with an owl ornament. A crocheted owl in the form of an applique can be sewn onto clothes. Crochet children's handbags in the shape of an owl are also popular among needlewomen. If you have a daughter or niece, she will certainly appreciate such a handbag or mobile phone case.

There are very, very many different knitted owls on the Internet, we have collected only a small part of them. Using the presented master classes, you can easily crochet an owl.

Crochet owl, models from the Internet

Crochet owl keychain

The owl is easy to knit (but requires basic crochet skills) and fairly quick. The keychain is small, and leftover yarn is suitable for making it. Using the same description, but changing the design, you can associate a variety of owls. I hope you enjoy the master class and knit these cute birds for yourself and as a gift.

To knit keychains we will need:

  • Yarn in the main color for the head and wings. It is better to take thin yarn (wool, half-wool or acrylic) in “natural” shades - gray, brown, beige. I knitted it from gray Beaded Pekhorka yarn. Children's novelty, children's whim, or other yarn of similar thickness will also work.
  • Colored yarn for the body of a sweater, hat, decoration. There are no strict requirements here either. But try to keep the yarn for the body of the sweater not too different in thickness from the yarn for the head. I knitted a sweater, also from beaded Pekhorka.
  • Gray (or white, beige, black) yarn for felt boots. It's better to take fluffy yarn. I used Alize real 40 Angora
  • Yellow yarn for legs. I have Alize fine.
  • White (or light gray, beige, etc.) yarn for the edge of the eyes. I have Pekhorka beaded.
  • Thin yarn for the iris of the eyes is yellow or orange. I knitted from Iris yarn.
  • Yellow floss for beak embroidery.
  • Two beads (or half-beads, buttons) for the pupils. You can take ready-made eyes.
  • Monofilament or thin threads to match the yarn for sewing on details.
  • Hollow fiber or other filler.
  • Hook.
  • Sewing needle.
  • Scissors.

White owl crochet

The Owl has no name, just White Owl. For some reason, it seems that by nature she is a lover of stories and fairy tales. Although I read somewhere that an owl is a symbol of protection :) This means that while it is guarding, it can compose and tell something very interesting.

When I decided to make an owl, I wanted one that was white and fluffy. This is how the White Owl came out from under the hook.

The entire owl is knitted using single crochets only. I crocheted mine No. 1.25. She came out about 9 cm tall. She knits easily and quickly. I will share the description and tell you how to make such an Owl for those who are interested.

Crocheted owl - Scops Owl. Master Class!

The height of the birds is 14-16 cm. In hats, the Owl in blue is crocheted from a children's novelty (pekhorka), the Parrot (or Dove, the peculiarities of the shape of its beak do not allow it to be an owl) in pink from Semenovskaya soufflé, both toys are crocheted with a bamboo hook No. 3.

We will need:

  • 30-50 gr. two colors of thread for pajamas and torso
  • 20 gr. thread of a different color for the hat
  • hook No. 3
  • just a little bit of white for the eyes (as well as felt for the eyelids, those who don’t have one can get by with a knitted eyelid)
  • some thread for the beak and paws
  • 2 buttons on the leg for eyes (mine are 1.2 mm in diameter)
  • two flat buttons for attaching the wings (again, you can do without them, just sew on the wings)
  • about 15 cm of wire for the paws
  • glue (I have Moment Gel)

We crochet the simplest voluminous owl step by step in a couple of minutes

To perform this work, arm yourself with a hook No. 3, yarn - 100 g, buttons for the eyes, filler, needle and thread.

Abbreviations:

  • VP - air loop,
  • RLS - single crochet,
  • Dc - double crochet.

Take a thread of the main color, crochet 4 VPs, close it into a ring.

1st row: we knit 6 sc, then divide the circle into 6 wedges and in subsequent rows we add 6 sc evenly (Diagram 1.). So we knit 9 rows. In the 10th row you should get a circle of 54 stitches. From the 10th to 17th row: we do not increase, we continue to knit 54 stitches.

Row 18: we evenly decrease the stitches every 7 sc. We knit up to 22 rows without decreases.

Sew the eyes to the toy. They should be located approximately between rows 8 and 17 of the body. We continue to knit the main fabric.

Row 22: decrease 6 times every 6 columns. We should have 42 columns left. Rows 23 to 29: knit without decreasing. Row 29: make 6 decreases evenly, that is, every 5 stitches. Row 30: make 6 decreases evenly, every 4 stitches.

We fill the owl with filler.

From 31 to 32 rows: we knit without decreasing. From 33 to 36 rows: we make 6 decreases evenly in each row.

We cut the working thread and carefully sew the hole.

This simple method will be the beginning for further creativity.

Large DIY crocheted owl pillow

Knitting a pillow is a little more complicated, as it is knitted from small multi-colored 6- and 5-gonal motifs (mini napkin, so to speak).

Hexagonal motif

Video "how to knit an African hexagon"

5-corner motif

Video “how to knit an African pentagon flower”

If you want a large pillow, take thick threads, but we will weave an owl from thin yarn, so hook I take 1.15. The base is a white thread, then you can fantasize and choose shades as desired.

The result is such a bright hexagonal circle, approximately 7 cm in diameter.

You should end up with 10 pentagons, 17 hexagons and 2 hexagons per eye. A pentagon above the eyes (forehead), below the eyes (where the beak is), between the ears at the back, and 7 pieces side-down-side. You can make a beak and small wings (but this is at your discretion).

When all the details are ready, carefully sew all the motifs together, fill them with filler and enjoy your handmade work. This pillow is suitable for a bedroom, a nursery and even a living room.

Crochet owl rug for toilet and bathroom

This rug will look elegant in your bathroom, and you can knit it in an evening. The author advises taking grass yarn and regular woolen yarn (cotton is also possible). If desired, create a set for the toilet (a rug, a mat under the toilet and on the lid).

The scheme is quite simple.

How to crochet an owl hat and scarf set

A fun animal hat for a child with an owl in the lead role. So let's start creating a fun kit.

Head circumference: 53 cm

Materials:

  • 100 grams of wool yarn (choose your own colors). The author took blue, gray, green and orange thread.
  • hook No. 3,
  • two buttons for eyes.

Crocheted hat - diagram and description:

The product is knitted in the round, starting from the bottom of the hat: cast on 5 chain stitches with gray thread and close it in a circle. Next knit like this:

1st row: 10 tbsp s/n

2nd row: increase in each loop = 20 st s/n

3rd row: increase in each = 40 st. s/n

4th row: without increases = 40 st s/n

5 row: increase in every second stitch = 60 st s/n

6th row: without increases = 60 st s/n

7 row: increase in every second loop = 90 st s/n

Tie the ears at the bottom of the hat:

1st row: 18 loops

From the 2nd row to the end, decrease one loop in each row on both sides of the row. Once the hat itself is knitted, tie it around the bottom in single crochets with green thread.

Tie braids are made like this: take threads of 3 colors, each in 3-6 folds (depending on how thick you want to make the braids), thread them through the 2 lower double crochets and braid them into regular braids.

Owl ears: cast on 24 chain stitches with blue thread and close in a circle.

1st row: st s/n

2nd row: Decrease loop, 8 st s/n, decrease loop, decrease loop, 8 st s/n, decrease loop

3rd row: decreasing a loop, 6 treble s/n, decreasing a loop, decreasing a loop, 6 treble s/n, decreasing a loop and so on until the tips of the ears.

Tassels on the ears are made in the same way as pigtails.

Eyes: Cast on 4 chain stitches with green thread and close in a circle.

1st row: 13 st. s/n.

2nd row: increase in each loop = 26 loops.

3rd row: go to the white thread. The increase in each loop is 52 loops.

4th row: all with b/n.

Sew buttons-pupils in the corners of the eyes so that the look is slanted, like an owl.

Beak: cast on 8 chain stitches with orange thread. In each subsequent row, decrease 1 stitch at the beginning and end of the row. When all the details are ready, sew them onto the hat.

Scarf: cast on 30 chain stitches and knit with double crochets, changing the color of the thread every 2 rows. At the end of the work, cut off the interfering threads and thread them. Tie the scarf in a circle with single crochets using green thread. The length of the scarf was approximately 1 m.

24 row - 64 persons
25-31 rows (7p) - knit with an elastic band 1x1 (k/p).
32nd row - close the loops without tightening the fabric. We cut the thread and hide it.

We take a needle with the same yarn and along the neck we sew a seam “forward with the needle”, but do not tighten it, do it very loosely. We put the dress on the owl and tighten the neckline. We cut the thread and hide it.

44-46 row-54sc. Finish, cut the thread. We will sew at the top.
We take the same thread we used to knit and sew the eye a little. Let's cut some threads for the tassels, make knots at one end and insert them into the eye using a hook. We sew a little short of the end of the second eyelet, insert another tassel and sew it completely. We trim the brushes and fluff them with a needle.

2nd row-6sbn
3rd row - (sc, inc) x3 (9)
Row 4-9 sc. Finish, leave thread for sewing.

Decoration of the owl amigurumi toy

We cut out two ovals from white felt (I tinted them along the edges) and glue them in the middle of the muzzle. We glue the eyes below the middle of the oval (I glued the eyes after removing the leg. If someone attaches it as expected, use the photo to determine which row it is in. Unfortunately, I missed it and didn’t notice). We sew the beak between the eyes, after filling it a little with filler. And, of course, don’t forget to glue on the eyelashes; I cut each one in half and glued the halves.
I made the bow from tulle. I took a small piece and folded it into a rectangle, hiding all the sections inside. We wrap it with the thread that was used to knit the dress and sew it onto the owl’s ear.

Work by Galina Shadrina

If a person has even basic needlework skills, then tying an owl is not difficult. The main thing is to be able to read diagrams and have on hand all the necessary materials that are needed to create crafts. A knitted toy will delight a child with its unusual appearance and will be an excellent gift.

Basic materials and tools, necessary for knitting:

  1. Thin yarn (cotton 50%, acrylic 50%). The volume of thread depends on the size of the future toy.
  2. Hook No. 2.5.
  3. Regular sewing needle.
  4. Sewing threads.
  5. Black beads and fabric for the eyes or special accessories that can be purchased at any craft store.
  6. Filling for toys (sintepon or cotton wool). The quantity depends on the size of the product.
  7. A special carabiner (plastic or metal), if the toy is planned to be designed as a keychain.

Making a toy

A crocheted owl, patterns and descriptions of which can be found in advance, can be a good gift for a baby or loved one. First you need to decide on the type of craft. The toy can be with or without a body, only one head. Knitting starts from the bottom up, ending at the top of the figure.

First you need to cast 6 air loops on the hook and connect them in a circle:

  • 1 row is knitted from 6 single crochets (hereinafter in the text - sc);
  • in the 2nd row you need to double the sc so that you end up with 12 loops;
  • from rows 3 to 12 you need to increase and decrease according to the pattern.

Figure No. 1

A crocheted owl, made according to the pattern and exactly according to the instructions, should have a neat appearance; for this you need to ensure that the columns are uniform and the knots remain on the wrong side of the product.

The body and all other parts of the toy (if they are available according to the pattern) are knitted according to the same principle. You need to make a loop on your head for the keychain toy.

Beak and eyes

Accessories for the beak and eyes can be purchased at a specialty store and glued or sewn on. But if it is not possible to purchase them, or the toy is intended for a small child who can tear off the glued parts, then better to tie them up.

The amigurumi owl beak is knitted in the following sequence: cast on 4 stitches and join them in a circle. Knit the first row 4 sc, and then 3 rows with an increase of 2 loops in each. Next, you need to secure the loops and fill the part with filler.

The same principle should be used to knit the tail and ears. If desired, you can decorate the tips of the ears with thread tassels.

The eyes of a little owl are 2 circles that need to be knitted in the following way:

  • connect the cast-on 4 loops into a ring;
  • knit 6 sc;
  • in the next 4 rows increase by 6 stitches.

You can glue, or better yet, sew beads-pupils. If you plan to knit a multi-colored owl, then during the work you need to monitor the alternation of colors.

Connecting parts

When all the parts are ready, you need to connect them together, pre-filled with padding polyester or other filler.

You should start from the head, connect it to the body. Carefully sew on all other parts. It is important to ensure that the paired parts are arranged symmetrically and that the threads match the knitted fabric. The little owl is ready. The composition can be complemented by an owlet made according to the same pattern, but smaller in size.

You can make a sheep keychain using the same principle, using suitable patterns and materials. The toy will turn out to be kind and soft, children will love it.

According to the instructions for beginners, crocheting an owl or other toy is easy. The main thing is to have handicraft skills and the desire to create new things.

A crocheted owl will be an excellent gift for both a child and an adult. An owl decorated in the form of a keychain can be hung on a bag, backpack or any other thing.

Owls are a symbol of wisdom, they are now popular with children, they are so cute. Since there are a great many of them, we will consider not one, but several types at once.
We invite you to learn how to crochet an owl with amigurumi, the article is aimed at beginners or beginners with diagrams, descriptions, master classes, videos and photos.

The simplest owl can be knitted quickly in literally 20-30 minutes with an already decorated muzzle and an embroidered beak.

As in the photo, this is a keychain option that is perfect for a handbag, phone, keys, and also as a gift for a child.

Have you already decided which one you want to knit? A voluminous and soft amigurumi or a small keychain, or maybe you want a hat or phone case in the shape of an owl or an applique?

It will not be clear to crochet an owl without an exact definition of what kind it is, so even before you start knitting, decide whether you want a palm-sized toy or a phone case; even the most beginners will have enough patience for this.

But a hat or a large toy is for more experienced craftswomen.

Let's look at what other owls there are.

They come in different sizes, voluminous and flat, which allows them to become both a patch on mittens and socks, and a separate toy, a keychain for a phone or keys, which has a useful secret.
A patch or applique is an owlet, which takes 5 minutes to knit; decorating and sewing on eyes and paws takes another 10-15 minutes.

Pay attention to the photo, there are 4 options for owls. The first one is flat, the rest of the amigurumi toys are three-dimensional, the third photo is an owlet with a kinder capsule inside, the rest are soft.

Which one to choose?

If you are a beginner or beginner, then start with stripes; voluminous owls are already for those who have mastered 2-3 types of basic loops. How to crochet an owl for beginners, the easiest way is the flat version in the form of stripes, they are presented in video format.

If you decide to decorate a case or an owl, we suggest you crochet flowers using master classes for beginners, which are available at the link.

A cap

For those who have already figured out how to knit an owl, namely the eyes and beak, we suggest knitting a hat for girls and boys. Step-by-step instructions for knitting a hat:

  1. Take measurements.
  2. Calculation of the bottom and number of rows, as well as depth.
  3. Choose threads and a hook depending on the model of the hat; for summer - cotton (Begonia, Lilu, Azalea, COCO) for autumn - spring acrylic (YarnArt “Baby”, Alize) or cotton (jeans) is suitable.
  4. Link a sample for calculation.
  5. Watch the video and description to understand what kind of hat you want to receive. The model can fit tightly to the head and follow the contours, or it can resemble a cup or be a cap without a tight fit.
  6. Understand knitting loops and start knitting.

There is a separate section about measurements and calculations, where diagrams are given and described, as well as recommendations for knitting different patterns.
Look and make a calculation, based on the results of these calculations we will begin to knit a hat. According to the diagram, choose which stitches you will knit with. The videos below are of hats knitted with double crochets.

We invite you to knit a simple owl hat, for this we will consider it in detail. The very basis of the hat is a cap, the eyes are large circles, the nose is a triangle, ears with tassels, ties and ears covering your child’s ears.

A hat made of 2 contrasting colors looks more impressive.
Step by step description:

  1. We make an amigurumi ring, knit the 1st loop into the ring, then 3 ch and 11 dc into the ring. We tighten the ring. Connecting loop with 1СН for closing the circle. (12p).
  2. 3VP, in each loop 2DC (increase by one base), SS (connecting post) (24 sts).
  3. 3VP, Increase dc in the same base, dc, 2dc (increase in one base) alternate until the end of the row), SS (36 sts).
  4. 3VP, Increase dc in the same base, 2 dc, 2 dc (increase in one base) so we alternate until the end of the row, SS (48 sts).
  5. 3VP, Increase dc in the same base, 3dc, in the next loop 2dc (increase by one base), 3dc, 2dc (increase by one base) so we alternate until the end of the row, ss (60p).
  6. 3VP, Increase dc in the same base, 4dc, in the next loop 2dc (increase by one base), 4dc, 2dc (increase by one base) so we alternate until the end of the row SS (72p).
  7. The diameter of the cap is 11.5 cm. Which one do you need? Compare with your calculations.
If you need a larger head volume, then continue adding loops.

The approximate calculation is OG/ 3.14 = Bottom diameter + 1 cm for a looser fit if the threads do not stretch and -1 cm if the yarn stretches a lot.
Example: OG 50 cm, then 50/3.14 = 15.92 cm bottom diameter. When you have knitted the required volume, continue knitting like this:

  8. We further knit the desired depth of the cap without any increments. We recommend trying it on a child or a model.

Ears for a hat

We count the number of columns in your header and divide this number by 5. We distribute them like this:

Front part - 2 parts - 34 loops, side parts 1 each and back of the head - 17 loops.
It is necessary to mark with markers or thread of a different contrasting color.

  1. Now, in the place where the eye will be, insert a hook where the beginning will be and pull out the working thread. We knit 3VP, we knit to the end of the row of dc. (17p)
  2. 2VP, in the second braid, Dc (it turns out 2Dc with the 1st vertex - this is a decrease), at the end of the row on the last 2 loops there is also a Decrease - 1 braid from 2 stitches. (15p).
  3. 2VP, in the second braid, Dc (it turns out 2Dc with the 1st vertex - this is a decrease), at the end of the row on the last 2 loops there is also a Decrease - 1 braid from 2 stitches. (13p).
  4. 2VP, in the second braid, Dc (it turns out 2Dc with the 1st vertex - this is a decrease), at the end of the row on the last 2 loops there is also a Decrease - 1 braid from 2 stitches. (11p).
  5. 2VP, in the second braid, Dc (it turns out 2Dc with the 1st vertex - this is a decrease), at the end of the row on the last 2 loops there is also a Decrease - 1 braid from 2 stitches. (9p).
  6. 2VP, in the second braid, Dc (it turns out 2Dc with the 1st vertex - this is a decrease), at the end of the row on the last 2 loops there is also a Decrease - 1 braid from 2 stitches. (7p).
  7. 2VP, in the second braid, Dc (it turns out 2Dc with the 1st vertex - this is a decrease), at the end of the row on the last 2 loops there is also a Decrease - 1 braid from 2 stitches. We finish knitting by cutting the thread and pulling it out. (5p).

We knit the second ear in the same way. Tie the entire cap with half-stitches or single crochets.
