How to make a lamb from scrap material. How to sew a sheep from fabric. This beautiful DIY sheep craft will be a wonderful gift or addition to a gift for a loved one.

As a rule, we think about gifts in recent days, grabbing everything that caught our eye on the way to visit. For those who decided to prepare for the holiday in advance and sew a sheep with their own hands, tips and ideas for making a souvenir for family, friends and colleagues.

Needlewomen have always been distinguished by their creative ideas, so there can be many options for a master class.

The material for the toy can be anything that your mood suggests: fabrics of various textures, artificial leather, suede, fur, felt, fleece. For decoration ─ lace, ribbons, knitwear, beads, buttons and other accessories of the same class from a craft store.

You can make a cloud-body out of felt and paint the face with acrylic paints, and make the legs out of rope with hoof balls, or decorate plastic Kinder Surprise eggs with the heads of cotton swabs, but if you are making a serious gift, it is better to make a sheep ─ a soft toy. Without special professional sewing skills, you can make such a toy with your own hands. You can also involve children in the process - an excellent opportunity for family creativity.

DIY symbol of the year

Felt and fur make a very cute and pleasant to the touch sheep toy for a child, with which the baby can play and even sleep in the crib. You can make such a souvenir in an hour without much preparation. In the proposed master class, the length of the sheep is 30 cm and the height is 20 cm.

Before you sew a lamb, you need to prepare:

  • Gray felt – piece size: 35 cm x 25 cm.
  • Faux fur in black or other dark color of the same size.
  • Toy pattern.
  • Black embroidery thread (like floss or wool).
  • Filling for toys (holofiber or synthetic fluff).
  • Sewing thread and chalk.
  • Needle with a large eye.
  • Scissors.
  • Black buttons – 2 pcs.
  • Silk ribbon with a bell.

When placing the pattern on the fabric, you need to take into account the direction of the arrows on the drawing - they should be parallel to the edge.

To sew the blanks, there is no need to leave seam allowances - they are already taken into account.
Cutting out the parts

  • Ear blanks – 2 pcs.
  • Leg parts – 8 pcs.
  • Muzzle parts – 2 pcs.
  • Tail blanks – 2 pcs.

Make from black fur:

  • Blanks for the body – 2 pcs.
  • Ear parts – 2 pcs.

Use chalk to transfer all the marks from the paper pattern onto the fabric. On each blank for the body it is necessary to make slots for the legs.

Sew a toy

Each part of the body in this master class is sewn separately, with your own hands, without a machine, with small, neat stitches.

Legs

Two parts of a soft toy made from blanks for legs must be folded with the front side inward. Sew two blanks along the contour with your hands, leaving part of the contour free at the base of the tail. Using the same principle, make three more legs. The finished parts must be turned right side out and filled with synthetic filler from below, in the hoof area. The upper part of the legs remains empty for now.

Tail

Both tail blanks are folded right sides inward and stitched to the base, which is left open. Then the part must be turned right side out.

Ears

For each ear, you need to fold one piece of felt and one of fur with the front side inward. Each pair is sewn together with your own hands, leaving a hole at the base of the ear. Turn the workpiece right side out. Now the ear needs to be folded in half lengthwise, perpendicular to the base, and secure the fold with a pin. The second ear should also be made in this way.

Face and body

Using basting threads, you need to sew an ear onto each part of the sheep's face. It must be taken into account that there must be a bend on the ears!

The face blank is combined with the body part (the front side is on the inside), points A and B should be located in one line. Now the muzzle needs to be connected to the body and sewn with small stitches, finally securing the ear. The basting can be removed. The second set of blanks is combined in the same way.

Legs and tail

Attach the tail to the workpiece in the appropriate place, points C and D must be connected. The tip of the ponytail should point down. Parts need to be swept away. The leg is inserted into the slot of the body and sewn on with your own hands using small stitches so that the edges of the parts are securely hidden inside. The rest of the legs are decorated in the same way.

Embroidery

The embroidery thread is inserted into a needle with a large eye and secured to the wrong side of the felt with a knot. The sheep's mouth, nose and eyes are embroidered using chain stitch. When finished, the thread is pulled inside out again and secured with a knot. The second half of the face is also symmetrically designed.

Assembling a sheep toy

Before the toy is sewn, all the blanks must be precisely aligned, securing them with pins. It is necessary to sew taking into account the holes for filling, marked on the pattern with the mark open. All that remains is to turn the finished toy right side out and stuff the body tightly with filler. The hole needs to be sewn up.

The master class will be incomplete if you don’t make a waking lamb for the scops owl sheep with your own hands. You don’t have to embroider his eyes on felt, but use black buttons, beads for this purpose, or buy moving plastic eyes.

You can dress up the sheep - knit a bright sweater for it, sew an apron, or simply attach an elegant ribbon with a bell around its neck. The gift is ready, there are still a few ideas left for master classes on creating an original souvenir.

Lamb gift options

If you sew a sheep with your own hands from thin felt or fur using a simplified pattern of two parts and stuff it with plastic balls or polyester, then it will not just be a toy, but also a real pillow-friend. You can make a travel pillow of the same type for the New Year.

Probably the most accessible and simplest option for a master class on how to sew a sheep is a toy made from socks: thin light and terry dark for contrast of the body and other details. White curly fur can be sewn separately, although terry fabric is already quite decorative. The features of the face can be completed with blush or acrylic paints or a gel pen. When drawing the cheeks and eyes, you first need to put a dot, and then shade it around.

Another simplified version of the toy master class is a sheep made of thin and bright fabric. The pattern is laid out on the ironed fabric; sew the parts together on a machine, turning them inside out using a stick through a small hole. The same stick goes through the seams and smoothes the workpiece. The filling should be uniform, but not dense ─ the toy is quite flat. Sew together the two parts of the body, checking the stability of the legs. Parts of the body do not need to be sewn together, but glued together with hot glue. There is any tail here - a ribbon, a button.

To hide the thread on the fabric after sewing, you need to move it away from the fastening, pull it towards you, and cut it. The end of the thread will be hidden inside.

A soft sheep, sewn with your own hands, always improves the mood of both the person to whom it is given and the craftsman. With a huge assortment of factory toys, the demand for hand-made is constantly growing, so a charming sheep will not go to the warehouse of numerous teddy bears and hares - it will always find a place in the collection of souvenirs dear to the soul.

This work, despite its ease, is not so easy to perform; in children’s hands, cotton wool does not always want to obey, very often it tries.

Children, today in class I will teach you how to make a funny sheep with your own hands. To make the sheep beautiful and make you happy, do everything as it should.

I bring to your attention a craft made from cotton wool, plasticine and a kinder toy: “Sheep”. Preschool children can happily make a sheep.

The master class was conducted by the teacher of the preschool educational institution No. 1 "Alyonushka" in Teykovo, Natalia Aleksandrovna Kartashova. To make a sheep we will need.

Master class on crafts made from cotton wool “Rooster” Natalya Kiseleva Dear colleagues, I present to your attention a master class on crafts “Rooster” - a symbol.

Materials: *paper, newspapers *scissors *cotton wool *PVA glue *super glue *spool of thread *colored cardboard *tinsel, rhinestones, beads for decoration *cup.

Master class “Theatrical activities as a means of developing speech in preschool children” Goal: increasing the competence of teachers in the use of theatrical activities in kindergarten, developing imagination and creative abilities.

Charming sheep made from cotton swabs, threads, cotton wool, napkins. A child of any age can make a craft in the shape of a sheep with his own hands if he uses simple, affordable materials and simple work techniques.

In this case, the simplest option, of course, will be the “sheep” applique. It will be a worthy decoration for any room, a gift for loved ones, and even an option for a competition entry if you put a little more imagination into it and give it a little volume.

What element makes the sheep recognizable? Of course, wool! Therefore, you need to focus on it in your work.

First option: cut out the silhouette of a sheep from white paper and paste it on a dark background. Glue grass cut out of colored cardboard under the character’s feet. But make the body of the sheep voluminous using ordinary cotton wool: lubricate small pieces of the body with glue and place small cotton balls on them. To make the balls more dense and even, we prepare them in advance: we tear off pieces of cotton wool from the roll and push them into a loosely compressed fist until the fist is tightly packed. Pour the resulting lumps into a container and again fill the fist to the limit. Cotton wool also makes interesting things.

You can not glue the sheep to the background, but cut it out of very thick cardboard, attach or draw eyes and also cover it with cotton balls. The result will be a beautiful, slightly voluminous symbol of the New Year.

With such a sheep you can decorate a postcard or poster with New Year's greetings.

You can do without cotton wool. For example, make an applique of symmetrical elements with a wavy edge. To do this: fold a sheet of white or beige paper in half (to match the color of the sheep’s wool), draw a heart so that its center falls on the fold of the sheet. We cut out the heart with embossed scissors (if you don’t have them, you can cut it out with regular scissors, forming a wavy edge). We do:

  • three of these larger hearts - for the head and paws;
  • one smaller one - cutting it in half, we get ears;
  • one very small one, made of pink paper - this will be the middle of the ears (we will also cut it in half);
  • one very large – basic – heart for the body;
  • two small hearts - additional - also for the body of the sheep.

We begin to assemble the figurine: we glue two additional ones onto the upper part of the main heart to give the figurine more volume.

We glue the sheep’s head into the center of the main heart, and on both sides of it there are ears, inside of which we fix the pink “hearts”. For the front legs, cut the heart in half and glue them at the level of the middle part of the body, and glue the second heart - the hind legs - down the body.

You can use store-bought eyes, you can simply draw them, like the nose.

You can make an applique on an old ceiling tile with a suitable pattern or apply this pattern yourself on white paper. To make it voluminous, use baking paints: mix premium flour, white paint and baking powder. After applying the design using a syringe or pastry bag, warm it up a little in the microwave - it will become fluffy. Postcards with such an ornament look very elegant and New Year's, because the design is very reminiscent of winter frosty patterns.

You can also make a sheep with your own hands in the form of a figurine or souvenir. Here are some simple options:

Take a small roll of cotton wool as the base (body), and attach a paper muzzle and paws to it, which can be made from kebab sticks, cotton swabs, or paper.

Cut out the body of the sheep from very thick cardboard or plywood, paint it brown and wrap it with woolen threads.

In the New Year, it is customary to exchange gifts of a certain theme. The coming year is dedicated to the symbol of the sheep. Everyone is trying to buy toys, postcards, and souvenirs with this symbolism. But you can create a gift with your own hands. Today we invite you to learn how to make a sheep with your own hands in different variations.

What gifts can you give?

  • Key rings. Beads will make beautiful keychains. The sheep can be made voluminous or flat. In the last version, you draw an image on a sheet of paper, count the beads, weave with a fishing line and a needle, connecting the rows together like Easter eggs.
  • Magnets. Embroidered, beaded or sewn sheep, New Year's scenes look great on the refrigerator. You can make unusual magnet toys. To do this, sew small sheep and glue magnets on their legs, then the lamb will be able to change the position of its legs.
  • Cloth. Scarves, mittens, can be decorated with sheep in the style of a Norwegian pattern. If so, you can create colored lambs.
  • Souvenirs (needle beds, biscornu, krivulka, zigugu). Find any cross stitch patterns with a New Year's theme, embroider and give an unusual shape to the souvenir.
  • Origami. A modular sheep can become a decorative addition to any home.
  • Amiguri. Small miniature amiguri toys are very popular. They knit very quickly and are used as decorative items, key rings, and car pendants.

Variations of New Year's symbols

  • Pendants. You can make hanging toys for babies. Sheep can be made in black and white, but you can diversify them with colorful pom-poms, flowers, and birds.
  • Stuffed Toys. Use pekhorka, pom-pom yarn, to knit sleep toys. You can sew them from felt. Tilda's lambs are especially unique (for them you should make a sheep stencil in advance).
  • Postcards. Any material is used (paper, beads, accessories, paints, fabric, threads) to create sheep. Postcards can be made flat, voluminous, with a surprise, or decorative.
  • Christmas decorations. Knitted or sewn lambs can hang on the Christmas tree and delight the eye with bright colors (use glitter paints for this).
  • Covers. Bags, cosmetic bags, cases for mobile phones can be sewn, knitted, embroidered with a New Year theme and given to anyone, regardless of their gender or age. Particularly original are the covers in the shape of a three-dimensional lamb, that is, the sheep’s head is knitted, stuffed and sewn to the bag. Also, don’t forget to sew on the legs of such a sheep.
  • The New Year's symbol can be presented in any way. The main thing is that the gift is useful and practical. You can create a whole composition. For example, beaded trees, and under them a flock of sheep.

Original craft: sheep made from cotton swabs

Such a lamb can become an element of a three-dimensional postcard, a Christmas tree decoration or an independent souvenir. To create it we will need:

  • white cardboard;
  • cotton buds;
  • glue;
  • markers;
  • Popsicle sticks or clothespin halves;
  • scissors.

How to make a sheep with your own hands from cotton swabs? From cardboard, cut out a large oval for the body and a small one for the head. You cut the cotton swabs almost to match the cotton base, leaving only centimeter-sized pieces for the ears. One sheep can use more than a hundred cotton swabs. Cover the body in a circle with cotton scraps so that the sticks are not visible. Then the illusion of curls is created.

Then you make the head. First, glue on the ears, and then a few sticks of curls in the form of bangs. Draw eyes, nose and mouth with a felt-tip pen and glue them to the body. If the lamb is used for a card or Christmas tree decoration, then cut wooden ice cream sticks in half and glue them to the wrong side of the body.

You can decorate the craft with white cardboard or paste it with cotton swabs, creating a three-dimensional product. By adding halves of clothespins you can give the sheep stability. You can also glue white cardboard with New Year’s greetings on the wrong side.

Christmas tree toys: DIY sheep

Small crafts are suitable not only for souvenirs, but also for decorating a Christmas tree. Consider a master class on creating a miniature sheep. You will need the following material:

  • for the body, paws;
  • wine stopper or float;
  • glue “Super Moment”;
  • or any other thick rope;
  • white and black wool;
  • paper clips for ears.

Making a sheep craft is not difficult, but it will require patience, since the work is jewelry. Use cork to form a sheep's head. You pierce it with a wire, the end of which you bend to fix the position. From other identical pieces of wire you make paws with part of the body.

Attach them to the wire coming from the head and solder them (in extreme cases, you can wrap them with thin wire in the style of a ganuteli). Wrap the neck and body with twine, increasing the desired thickness. Then you wrap the head, paws, and body tightly with black wool, coating the surface with glue.

Creating curls

We continue to look at how to make a sheep with your own hands. Bend the sheep's legs to give it a stable position. You make the ears from paper clips or any wire. Wrap it with black thread, connect it into a loop and “increase” the volume with wool. Leave small ends of the wire to coat with glue and stick into the head.

Now you make curls. To do this, wrap white wool around a fork or metal plate, as when creating pompoms. On one side you fasten with a single-color thread so that when cutting the other end the threads do not fall apart. Cut the second edge with a utility knife. Lubricate the resulting bundles with glue and cover the entire body with the head.

If necessary, use scissors to trim the sheep's wool. Glue the eyes onto the face (you can find ready-made running small eyes on sale or use wooden beads). You can move away from the classic version and make multi-colored sheep.

Felt sheep

Such toys can be used for keychains, Christmas tree decorations, and decorative souvenirs. From white felt you cut out the body, tail, legs, head with ears, and from black material - curls and flowers. Instead of felt, you can take any other non-flowing material.

You start work from the head, sew the parts together and insert the padding polyester. You can use a solid filler, on which you cut out the same sheep stencil and sew all the layers together. Immediately embroider the mouth, sew on the eyes and curls. Then you work on the torso. First, sew decorative flowers onto it. Next, sew together the parts of the body, sewing on the legs and tail in the right places. Don't forget to fill it with padding polyester. This is a version of a whole lamb, but how to make a small colored lamb?

Cut out two pieces of felt for the body (like a round cloud), head, ears (like droplets), curls (like an oval cloud). Four oval stripes for the legs, one piece for the nose (heart). You sew the head together, sew on the ears, fill it with padding poly, then attach the curls on top. Glue on the nose, embroider the eyes and mouth. Next, sew the torso together, inserting the legs. Attach the head on top and decorate with a bow and the same ribbon.

Lamb-Tilda

Tilda sheep are adored by children because of their simplicity and softness. As a rule, terry cloth is used for fur, and linen material is used for limbs and face. At the moment there are many patterns, but you can create it yourself. The easiest option is to make a sheep like a doll for the New Year. Let's look at how to do this in detail:

  • Sew together the paw parts. Sew the linen pattern on one edge. Fill with padding polyester.
  • Sew the body from fur fabric. Sew on the arms and legs. Fill with padding polyester.
  • Sew the head in three parts: two terry and one round linen face. Sew on the eyes and ears, embroider the nose, paint the cheeks with acrylic paints. Fill it with padding polyester and attach it to the body.
  • Sew a skirt from multi-colored scraps and put it on the sheep.

Beaded lamb

How to make a sheep from beads? Today you can find a lot of patterns for weaving lambs, both volumetric and flat, from beads and beads. Flat ones turn out sketchy and are more suitable for keychains or postcards. Goats are braided from the head down, and sheep from the back of the body to the head. Then the parts are simply connected to each other and a denser product is obtained. Using this technique you can make colorful animals.

But voluminous sheep look more natural. The very first option is to braid a ball and bead for the body and head. The braiding is reminiscent of strawberry braiding. For curls, make loops. You also weave the ears with a loop.

If you don’t know how to weave with beads, then combine two techniques (this will be the second method). For example, you sew the head and body from fabric and filling, and sew on the curls and legs with beads. You will get original souvenirs. You can also combine crochet with beadwork. For magnets, sheep are embroidered on canvas, cut and magnetic tape is glued to the wrong side.

Postcards and panels

It's very easy to create greeting cards. The easiest way is to stick an applique on ready-made postcard blanks. On the outside you decorate the plot with beads, threads or other materials. Children like to glue a Christmas tree out of pompoms onto cards and decorate them with paper balls and stars.

If you want to make a card yourself, then fold the cardboard in half. Use scissors to shape the size and edges of the card. On the outer side, apply a schematic design, glue and a bead base or threads (it is better to take wool, crumble it finely and glue it). The first craft that you glue onto a cardboard base is suitable for a postcard.

If you paint white thick cardboard, and make the foreground or main details voluminous using paper appliqués, beads, threads and other materials, you will get the basis for the panel. Simply insert the story into a frame without glass and hang it on the wall. For example, you can make topiary this way.

Panel options

Cut the foam ball in half and glue it onto cardboard. Draw a trunk, fence or vase. Cut a yogurt bottle lengthwise, wrap it with multi-colored threads, and glue it to cardboard. Cover the ball with flowers, pompoms, and decorative elements.

From foam plastic balls you can make the head and body of a sheep, which you will cover with pom-poms or beads. Or glue a finished animal created in origami style onto cardboard. A three-dimensional sheep is inserted into a frame without glass.

Another gift option is suitable for preschoolers. Print Cover it in the places where the fur should be with a thick layer of plasticine. Then roll balls from napkins, crepe paper or foil. Attach them to plasticine. You can paint the head and legs with gouache or also cover them with plasticine.

If the balls are not large, then the craft can be placed under glass. Otherwise, buy special plasticine that hardens quickly and is not affected by temperature. Creating such crafts is as simple as making a sheep out of paper, but the result will be more interesting.

We embroider a sheep

Depending on the plot and size, the New Year's symbol can be presented in the form of a picture or a souvenir. Let's consider several gift options.

  • Pincushion. Embroider two identical squares, finishing the edges with a “back needle” stitch. Next, use these stitches to connect the two embroideries to each other. Sew a loop in the middle, stuff the product with padding poly, and drag decorative tassels along the edges. It turns out to be a beautiful souvenir pincushion. It can be used as a car decoration.
  • Magnet. Embroider the lamb pattern, trim off the excess fabric, and trim the edges. Apply magnetic tape. The result was an original do-it-yourself sheep.
  • Biscornu. Embroider two squares with New Year's patterns. You also process the edges with a “back needle” seam, but start sewing the parts from the middle. That is, you place the edge of one embroidery on the middle of the other half, and pull the needle through the stitches. You can string beads for decoration. Fill the biscorn with padding polyester and sew to the end of the edge. Decorate the middle of the product with a button and pull through a loop.
  • Sachet. This embroidery can be designed in the form of candy or a bag filled with aromatic herbs.

Stuffed Toys

We suggest you consider how to make a small sheep with your own hands (about the size of your palm). Such toys can become a decorative element of a home, car or educational children's rugs. For the master class you will need the following materials:

  • felt;
  • two beads;
  • threads;
  • satin ribbon;
  • padding polyester;
  • knitting threads in the form of balls;
  • black and brown floss.

On felt, you schematically designate the body of the sheep, drawing an oval head, legs, and tail. Sew the parts together, cut the fabric so that when you turn it inside out there is an even seam. Stuff it with padding polyester and sew up the product.

Now, using threads that match the knitting thread, take the bump, sew its ends and sew it in a lump to the sheep, starting from the head in a circle. Then sew on the ears using satin ribbon loops. All threads, knots, tails are hidden under the “wool”. Next, use black thread to sew the beads onto the muzzle, and use brown floss to embroider the nose and mouth, bring the thread to the middle of the back and make a loop. It turned out to be a beautiful fluffy sheep with your own hands!

Knitted lambs

Knitted toys are increasingly in demand among children. Sheep can be dressed up in different dresses and skirts, but if you use special yarn with different bumps, lumps, and long piles, you can knit original lambs with natural wool.

Let's learn how to create such a craft using the example of small sheep. Such amiguri are used as decorative decorations, and if you sew on a loop, you can hang it in your car. Let's look at how to make a multi-colored sheep. To do this, take knitting threads: cotton of three different colors and yarn with fibers or knobs for wool. You start knitting the sheep from the muzzle.

Crochet a circle, forming it into a hexagon. Next, you knit without any increases, getting a hat like an acorn. Then you narrow the number of loops to create a long pumpkin shape with a wide end. Having finished knitting the muzzle, fasten the threads with the bumps and knit the wool on the head. Create ears using a cotton hook and sew them on. You make the eyes from beads, and embroider the nose and mouth with a “game”.

Knit an oval or round body from threads with cones. Separately make the front and hind legs, adding multi-colored cotton. Finish knitting them with threads with cones. Sew the limbs and head to the body. Stuff all parts of the body with padding polyester. The result is a bright sheep made with your own hands.
