Hello kitty from modular origami. Modular origami - how to make Hello Kitty? For knitting lovers

Hello Kitty

The cute white cat Kitty (Hello Kitty) was invented in 1974 in Japan. Owner of the company Sanrio Shintaro Tsuji decided to make a toy that everyone would like.

At first, postcards were issued with Kitty's image. Then there are wallets, which have gained great popularity. At the end of the 80s, the demand for products with the image of a white cat began to fall, and then the decision was made to change its image. The blue overalls, always the same pose and the black outline around the figure are no longer indispensable attributes of Kitty - she has new clothes and various objects in her paws, she has become more “alive”. And Kitty now has a whole family and many friends.

Currently, Hello Kitty is not only a cartoon heroine, but also a brand known throughout the world. What kind of products are not produced with the image of a white cat! These include clothes, accessories, and shoes; pillows, bed linen; phones, wallets, cosmetic bags, pencil cases, backpacks, bags; musical instruments, watches. There are even toasters - you get toast with a picture of Kitty!

And, of course, there are many Hello Kitty magazines, books, stickers, and coloring books.

Japanese cartoon character Hello Kitty You can make it yourself from triangular origami modules of different colors: 94 white, 13 red, one yellow, two black. We connect origami modules sequentially, row by row.

The craft is presented from separate parts: the body, arms and legs, head and ears with a bow.

It turns out this is an original modular origami craft:

We do it sequentially according to this scheme:

We make 5 rows of 15 blue modules, row by row

and connect it into a ring

    blue, red, blue, 4 red.

    blue, red, blue, 5 red.

7th row. It consists of 15 white modules, which we will insert with the reverse side

Where the red modules insert another yellow one

    Another row of white modules

To make eyes for a cat, for this we insert 3 white modules, 1 black one each and then 10 more modules

Then we assemble again a row of white modules

We make ears from 2 white modules. To do this, we bend each of the modules.

We insert the ears into the cat’s body, the legs into the cat’s body and make arms

Cut out a small bow, color it and attach it to the cat’s head

As for Kitty, this is done as follows: step-by-step instructions (consisting of 16 photographs) with a description of each stage of work can be viewed here.

The end result of your work should be something like this:-)

Making various animals or characters today has become a real hobby, and for some it is a whole movement with its own fashion trends and popular themes. The assembly pattern of a modular origami cat can be different: from a regular round one to a more complex one. We offer two ways to create a cat figurine.

How to make a cat out of modules?

In the first lesson we propose to consider the traditional scheme. For it we will need modules of white and any other colors. The author of the lesson used paper blanks of any color. As for the final stage of design, you can use absolutely any materials from appliqué to doll accessories.

  1. We will fold the first row as follows.
  2. This circle consists of 50 blanks. The result should be a ring like this.
  3. We assemble the next two rows in the same way, placing the modules in a checkerboard pattern.
  4. Next, according to the diagram for assembling an origami cat from modules, we insert three white blanks.
  5. In the fifth row, we put six more on these three white modules, and then in each subsequent row we add one.
  6. In this way we move the next 11 rows, at this stage there should be 15 white modules in a row. From this moment we begin to remove one module at a time. This will look like a rounded breast.
  7. At this stage of the master class on making a modular origami cat, the chest ends and the colored rows begin again. To connect the head and body, add three more white modules in the middle part.
  8. We move on to the next stage of making a modular origami cat - the head. To do this, we form a series of modules by inserting them on the other side. We form the next row with modules in the same position.
  9. This is what the workpiece currently looks like from above.
  10. In the third row we take three white modules and arrange them in accordance with the breast.
  11. Next we form the cheeks and the head itself.
  12. We gradually bring the modules together to form a head.
  13. We will decrease the last three rows by three modules so that in the last row you get 41 modules. Next, we form the ears, as shown in the picture.
  14. We make the cat's tail from triangular modules from a strip of blanks curved along the body.
  15. All that remains is to decorate our cat and everything is ready!

Modular origami cat - assembly diagram of the famous Kitty

The popular cat with a bow is currently one of the most popular characters. It can be found not only on children's handbags, but also on adult things. We suggest looking at a diagram of how you can make a Kitty cat out of modules.

Hello Kitty is one of the most popular brands in Japan. This is the name of the cartoon character - a white kitten-girl, whose image is decorated with many children's accessories and children's things, and many adults are not averse to decorating their appearance with such a cute face. Original items from this brand are not cheap, but if you have the desire and a little time, nothing will stop needlewomen from making Hello Kitty with their own hands.

The appearance of a miracle

Kitty the cat was invented by the owner of a Japanese toy manufacturing company, Shintaro Tsuji, back in the eighties. He really wanted to invent a character who would charm everyone without exception, and he experimented with this for a long time. The cute kitten first appeared in the form of cards and other small items, but real popularity came after the release of a simple wallet with the image of Hello Kitty. Initially, the image did not undergo any special changes - the cat, who was sitting sideways, was dressed in a blue jumpsuit, and the image itself was outlined around the perimeter with a black outline.

By the end of the eighties, its popularity began to decline, so designers decided to eliminate the black outline, and the cat began to hold various objects in its paws. A little later, the brand's producers decided to supplement the range of children's items with a cat's face with items for an older audience.

Other characters also appeared in the images - Kitty's mom, dad and little sister named Mimi - she has a bow on her ear so that she is not confused with Kitty herself. Today, this brand produces not only clothes, accessories and toys, but also household appliances, computer anti-virus programs and much more.

While some are chasing expensive copies of Hello Kitty on foreign websites, many craftsmen create the image of a cute cat using various types of needlework and more. For example, here are the kittens in the form of cross stitch:

Kitty figures and faces can also be created from beads.

And for a child’s birthday, a cake with the image of a Hello Kitty made from fondant like this would be a wonderful gift:

Using origami technique

A cute Japanese cat made from modules of various colors in the origami art style looks very original and unusual. In addition, it will be an excellent birthday gift for your child, or maybe just an interesting interior detail.

To create such beauty, you will need:

  • white modules - ninety-four pieces;
  • thirteen red modules;
  • seventy-nine blue modules;
  • one module is yellow and two are black.

The size of each module is 1/32.

First you need to connect the blue modules into five closed rows of fifteen modules each.

The result should be a form like this:

We alternate the rows in this order: blue - red - blue - 4 red; blue – red – blue – five red.

This is what we get as a result:

Let's form the seventh row. It includes fifteen white modules, which must be inserted with the opposite side.

Then we add two more rows of white modules.

In the place where there are four red modules, you need to insert another yellow one.

And again the white row:

Now it's the eyes' turn. Now we insert 3 white modules, then one black one on each side, then 10 white ones.

The next row is completely white.

We make ears from two white modules. We insert them into the cat’s head, attach the lower legs in the same way and make the upper ones.

Draw a small pink bow and attach it to one of the ears.

A more detailed description of the process can be heard in this video:

For knitting lovers

For those who are interested in various types of knitting, a crocheted Hello Kitty would be a great idea.

All information about knitting this toy is collected in this pattern:

You need to start knitting from the head, knitting rows in circles. For each next row, we rise by one air loop, and close the row with a connecting post. The first row is considered to be the first circle of single crochets.

The unfilled head detail looks like this:

Knitting other parts, except legs, begins with an “amigurumi ring” - we wind the thread around the finger twice and knit 6 single crochets into the resulting ring.

Then, pulling the short tip, tighten the ring tightly. Thus, we continue to knit the ears and tail according to the pattern.

The legs begin to be knitted with red threads, then, from the fourth row - with white threads, single crochets behind the back wall of the base loop, thus forming a hem for the shoe. We knit the fifth row as usual, and the sixth as the fourth.

These are the legs we got:

We start knitting the handles in white, then from the sixth row we switch to red and knit until the 12th.

At this stage, we stop knitting and move on to forming the edge of the sleeve. After this, we stuff the part with padding polyester and finish it with two rows according to the pattern.

The next detail is the body of the cat, we form it in the form of a tapering cone.

From the red border on the body we knit the skirt with red threads.
