Making a pouch

1. Before you begin embroidering, center the design relative to the width of the fabric so that the bottom of the design is 4cm from the bottom edge of the canvas.

2. When you have completed all the stitches, trim the fabric with the centered design so that it is 16cm wide.

3. Place the embroidered design canvas and the cotton backdrop fabric together, right sides together. Sew the sides and bottom using a 1.5cm seam allowance.

4. To make a channel for the ribbon, fold 1.5 cm around the entire perimeter of the top of the bag to the wrong side, then another 2.5 cm and sew close to the folded edge.

5. Turn the finished bag right side out and iron it.

6. Cut a few stitches of one side seam, then pass the ribbon through the channel and tie a knot at both ends of the ribbon. The bag is ready!
