The most expensive bags in the world

I love bags. No, not economic ones, of course. And those that are over the shoulder, behind the back or in the hands with documents and other folders: tablets, backpacks and briefcases. I like the series where each bag fits the other, differing in purpose. I have a common red bag with a distressed effect from a little-known Chinese manufacturer "Poshete", there is a set of a travel bag and a shoulder bag from the Florentine "The Bridge" and, of course, a briefcase bag from the Bolognese "Piquadro". In any mega-mall, no matter what country it is in, I will definitely spend some time in the bag stores. I won’t always buy something, but I will look, touch, and smell.

Recently, while roaming the vast expanses of the Internet, I was brought to the website of the well-known “Louis Vuitton”. Loved by many "stars" and counterfeit dealers. His crossed letters LV, scattered across a brown field, often flash at social gatherings and on smoky trains. LVHM is a huge “factory” for the production of luxury goods, for lovers of a bright coat of arms on a bag or bottle. On this site, among other suitcases and accessories, my eye caught a long row of numbers under one leather miracle. "Porte-Documents Voyage" - it said on it. A long series of numbers turned out to be the price - 2,960,000 rubles...

A briefcase worth an apartment in the near Moscow region! Even if it’s a one-room apartment and without renovation, but still housing?! It is made of black Nile crocodile leather and “richly” decorated with a lock and keychain. Made, probably, to last for centuries. Because how else can you evaluate such a price tag? I think this bag can be passed down from generation to generation as a symbol. A symbol of human stupidity. Looking at this accessory, it’s not that I wanted to breed crocodiles, but the way rich customers are bred certainly impressed me.

If you cannot afford "Porte-Documents Voyage" I offer you a kind of "crocodile" rating of leather goods.

So, if you are not so rich, then you can easily afford a briefcase from the no less prestigious house “Cartier”.

Of course, this brand is primarily associated with watches, beautiful works of human thought and jewelry. The cost of individual pieces in rose gold and scattered diamonds reaches 10,000,000 rubles. But my gaze was fixed on the leather goods section. And here you have this modest specimen, for which an innocent saltwater crocodile was skinned. This whim will cost only 1,260,000 rubles. In my opinion, that’s what the little Audi A1 costs. Rest in peace, rowdy friend. This briefcase is your worthy tombstone.

Why is this too tough? Well, for the really poor, you can find a thing for pennies from a less famous brand. These houses compete with each other, bringing to the market the most incredible combinations of colors and fittings. However, not forgetting to stamp the dull bureaucratic joy without exquisite patterns and buttons.

Among the numerous products under 300,000, I was able to find this shiny, but still masculine something that sells for a ridiculous 180,000 rubles. The origin and “name and patronymic” of the killed alligator have not been established, and the price must be low because of this.

How??? And is it expensive??? Well, then either go to Aliexpress for Chinese consumer goods “all for 40,000” or... or if the brand is still important to you, limit yourself to veal “Dupont” or “Montblanc” for a shameful 50,000. Although the calf has frolicked so little in the sun-drenched fields of Tuscany or Umbria, this is not at all as prestigious as a slippery reptile from distant Africa or America.

A truth as old as time: our society is a consumer society. Standing proudly at the top of the food pyramid, satiated and ambitious, a man is ready to sacrifice the crocodile, the sable and his neighbor to his inflated ego. I’m not talking about cruelty and compassion, this is a separate big topic. The question is: why shell out such staggering money? For a brand, skin or ambition??? Or just everyone has their own crocodiles in their heads!

The most expensive English bread is Roquefort and Almond Sourdough Bread. Making bread for gourmets and snobs requires the best grades of grade “A” flour and only from grain grown in Wiltshire - a county in the south of England, which does not include flavorings, emulsifiers or other additives not inherent in flour. The dough for Roquefort and Almond Sourdough Bread is fermented only with the famous and no less expensive French cheese “Roquefort”, with the addition of almonds and a number of other elements that are kept in the strictest confidence by the producers of the most expensive bread bar, at the head of which is his creator Paul Hollywood, who calls his bread “the Rolls Royce of bread.” But what makes this bread the most expensive in the whole world? Of course, its price is 24.5 US dollars or approximately 18 euros.

The designers created a women's handbag so that a girl could carry her various personal items in it - cosmetics, a wallet, a mobile phone, a comb, a book, etc. The first such handbag was born in the eighteenth century, when ladies wanted to have a spacious wallet with them, but just not very bulky and flashy. This is how reticules arose in France, which were made from soft fabrics such as silk and velvet. Then the reticules moved to Great Britain via the English Channel, where they took root very successfully.

During the Industrial Revolution, people began to travel much more often. Samuel Parkinson, an entrepreneur, noticed that his wife's wallet was too fragile and insufficient. At H.J. From Cave of London, he commissioned a selection of bags of varying sizes to suit every occasion he could imagine. The entrepreneur ordered the manufacturer to ensure that all bags were made exclusively from hard materials that were used to produce travel cases and spacious suitcases. This allowed him to distinguish his own luggage from the bags of other travelers.

From this, in fact, the most expensive brands of bags began to appear. Since then, women simply began to go crazy for various handbags of all shapes, models and colors. At the same time, it does not matter which brand produced the model - Louis Vuitton, Coach, Gucci or Prada, a true lady will always find a reason to buy a new one for herself. Of course, if her capabilities allow it.

In this article we will look at the most expensive bags in the world. Of course, these are not consumer goods. For the most part, this is an absolute exclusive.

Thus, Hermes recently sold its Birkin bag for a mere $380,000. This accessory is made from Nile, 245 diamonds and white gold. It was purchased in Hong Kong at a Christie’s auction by an unknown person who did not want to give his name.

Let's look at the most expensive women's bags in the world and find out who can afford them.

Tribute Patchwork, LV

There are attempts to counterfeit LV models in almost every country on the planet. This is due to the fact that this brand has been a leader among bags for many years. Many celebrities can tell you this, such as Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, Uma Thurman and Naomi Campbell. Although it is impossible to say with confidence that the bags of this brand should bear this name directly, since their designer is Marc Jacobs. He designed the Patchwork bag from fifteen different designs from LV.

She looks very eccentric and original. But critics are not asleep, regularly ridiculing this accessory, even calling it nothing less than Frankenstein’s monster. True, this did not stop 24 customers from ordering it after its demonstration as part of the collection. And, of course, all 24 models were sewn to order and then delivered to their new owners. Immediately after this, company representatives announced that such bags would no longer be produced. Cost - $43,000.

Multicolored Prescription Pills, The Row

Considering what are the most expensive bags, we can say about the following creation. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who owned The Row brand, released 12 bags in 2012, which were created together with the artist. More precisely, it was a black leather backpack with a gold clasp, which repeated the “Medical Office”, Hirst’s exhibition, and was hung with all sorts of pills of different shades and shapes. The medicine, of course, was not real, but no one except the twin sisters wanted to wear it yet. Cost: $55,000.

Precious Rose Bag, Leiber

We continue to talk about the most expensive Precious Rose Bag - this is a clutch made in the shape of an elegant rose with a bud consisting of a thousand diamonds, 1196 pink sapphires and 800 tourmalines. This piece of art from Judith Leiber, a Hungarian designer, would make a chic gift for a birthday or other occasion. If you don’t pay attention to its price - 92 thousand dollars. A few years after the introduction of this expensive accessory, this brand produced the same ones, only more affordable: a red bag in honor of the release of the film “Beauty and the Beast” began to cost 17 times less, but does not look so beautiful.

Matte Crocodile Birkin, Hermès

This is one of the most expensive crocodile leather bags in the world. It can still be found in some stores today, because after its release three years ago it began to be counterfeited in various countries in Asia and Europe, and the results of the copying were posted on Ebay. There the accessory is not much cheaper than the original, however, it gives off a completely unnatural shine. Kim Kardashian and Victoria Beckham, who were spotted wearing this model more than once, obviously bought it from trusted distributors. Cost: $100,000.

Urban Satchel, Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton can make waste a must-have, too: in 2008, brand employees organized a cleanup day, where they collected city trash and created a bag instead of sending it somewhere else. So, one of the most expensive bags on the planet is created from a cigarette pack, a plastic bottle, beer caps, bags and receipts. In order for the recycled accessory to turn out to be an elite piece of art, the company set a price for it of $150,000. Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and other lovers of exclusiveness immediately began to hunt for her. Cost: $150,000.

Cleopatra Clutch, Lana Marks

What other most expensive women's bags can you talk about? This particularly unremarkable model, called the “Cleopatra Clutch,” was able to attract close attention after the next Oscar ceremony, which took place in 2007. Helen Mirren, an actress whose image was further discussed by all the media, stood with him behind the statuette. Having found out that the nude, laconic bag was made of white gold, exotic leather and diamonds, and also cost about $250,000, they subjected the actress to widespread condemnation: such acquisitions of stars did not go unpublicized during the global financial crisis.

The actress’s colleagues also secretly dreamed of such an accessory, and the American brand later added the names of its most frequent clients to the name “Cleopatra”: Kate Winslet, Li BingBing, Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron, Sarah Jessica Parker, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Garner. Cost: $250,000.

Diamond Forever, Chanel

Most of them saw the light of day during the Great Recession, when no one could afford them. Against this background, thirteen lucky winners who bought a Chanel Diamond Forever bag made of white eighteen-carat gold, as well as 334 diamonds, doomed themselves to persecution, therefore, the auction organizers were asked to hide their names. But one woman who held this precious model in her hands is well known: Madonna proudly sported it at a charity event, and later sold it for $350,000.

Birkin Bag, Hermes, Ginza Tanaka

The price of this one of the most expensive bags in the world is equal to the cost of 20 apartments in St. Petersburg. It was created by artist Ginza Tanaka and the Hermes brand. Its incredible price tag is understandable: the chain of diamonds and platinum can be detached and worn as a necklace or bracelet, and the pear-shaped diamond located in the center can be worn as a pendant or brooch. But such a fashion maneuver was shown only once: the it-bag is always in Japan in a museum and cannot be sold. Cost: $1,900,000.

Chaine d'Ancre, Hermes

Another process is also known - Hermes bracelets are changed into a bag. This model is made of several jewelry from the brand, each of which costs $2,350. The final cost of the essentially useless and perforated reticule was only increased by its exclusivity: only 3 models were produced, which Pierre Hardy, the designer, developed over 2 years. Cost: $2,000,000.

1001 Nights Diamond Purse, Mouawad

So, which bag is the most expensive? The record holder is 1001 Nights, which is included in the Guinness Book of Records. The model is created from 4517 diamonds (4356 white, 56 pink and 105 yellow) and 18-karat gold in the shape of a heart. Its author, Pascal Mouawad, a Dubai designer and jeweler, is also known for creating lingerie for the Victoria's Secret show: in 2003, a model appeared on the catwalk wearing a $11,000,000 bra. Cost: $3,800,000.

It’s not only the fair half of humanity that designers pamper with luxury. There are also several expensive bags for men.

Crocodile Weekender, Brooks Brothers

This bag is created for a person accustomed to living in luxury. Its name alone says a lot. These bags are made in Italy by a company founded back in 1818. This is one of the oldest family businesses that produced accessories and clothing in the United States. Brooks Brothers is often in demand in Hollywood and dresses various stars, including George Clooney and Ben Affleck. By the way, in The Great Gatsby all the men's suits were made by Brooks Brothers. Cost - $15,000.

Domenico Vacca

This leather bag is made of genuine crocodile leather and is available upon special order. She is originally from Italy. The designer launched his own brand in 2002, which quickly became famous. He was twice awarded the Robb Report magazine award for the best Italian collections. Cost: $50,000.

Since the 18th century, when the fashion for women's bags made of lace and precious stones began to flourish in France, the main function of this accessory has grown into something more than transporting personal items. Over the years, the popularity and prestige of women's bags has grown rapidly, and today not a single fashionista can consider her image complete without a designer bag. Products from famous world brands are often created from incredibly expensive materials, such as precious metals or crocodile skin, decorated with diamonds, or simply bearing the name of a fashion house, which can greatly affect their value. So, in pursuit of a new creation by a popular designer, women are ready to pay quite large sums, sometimes bordering on exorbitant ones.
