After the second layer has dried, the patch is also sanded with a buff.
It remains only to polish the nail and cover it with varnish.

If a low tubercle remains at the site of damage, it’s not scary. Firstly, if everything is done qualitatively, it will practically not be visible. Secondly, after coating the nail with varnish, the lift will not be visually distinguishable at all.

Hide the defect under the tips

If the first two options for restoring a broken nail under the root for some reason are not suitable or difficult to perform, there is always the opportunity to “hide” the affected nail plate under an artificial tip. The repair algorithm is as follows:

We apply on the nail and on the contact zone of the chip.
Next, with a thin brush, apply the base to the end of the chip with a thread and immediately dry it. In an LED lamp, 10 seconds is enough - there is very little material.
We repeat the process by analogy until it is restored. I needed 6 layers for this. With an intermediate drying of 10 seconds, it takes literally 3 minutes.
Now it is necessary to equalize the extended piece with the same base, both from the outside and from the inside, since it turns out to be a little bumpy.
Then you can apply the base on the entire surface of the nail. I decided to do it in two steps. The first to apply a thin layer, after which to make a sawdust of all the irregularities on the extended piece, and the second to do.
Done, you can do gel polish and even.

The purpose of such a repair for me is to give the nail to grow enough so that it can be leveled under the rest of the nails without sacrificing their length. That means two weeks is enough. As practice has shown, with such a repair under gel polish, you can walk longer, but I already wanted to update the color and cut off the overgrown length.
