The most beautiful Christmas decorations are those that are made by hand. Such creativity will help you to realize any fantasy and make the New Year's decor as original, unusual and very attractive as possible.

In modern stores on New Year's Eve, a person can find a huge assortment of Christmas decorations from a variety of materials: glass, plastic, wood, textiles, paper. But, more than half a century ago, it was quite difficult to find a beautiful decoration for the Christmas tree, and people I had to make them by hand.

It is worth noting that manual work is very often excelled in her craftsmanship and equated to works of art. Many needlewomen still prefer to bring something original to the decor of the room and the Christmas tree, made from the heart and with your own hands.

Following modern master classes, you can learn how to create toys of incredible beauty.

Eg, cotton jewelry - budget crafts. For work you will need:

  • Roll of pharmacy cotton
  • Paste
  • Newspaper
  • Wire
  • Paints (acrylic)
  • Salty dough

Vatu is necessary pre-paint in different colors. This is done using textile paints, which can be purchased at a household chemical store. The process of painting is very simple: dye in a saucepan with water, put cotton wool, bring to a boil. Vata is infused for several minutes, after which it is wrung out and dried.

Cooking paste is also very simple. It is more convenient to use than ordinary PVA glue, as it is more transparent and its texture is more watery. To weld a paste, you need boil a glass of water and dissolve two full tablespoons of starch in it with a hill. The cooled solution will become very sticky.

Salt dough will be needed in order to create realistic faces and muzzles for toys, as they imitate figurines of people and animals. Kneading this dough is easy: mix two parts flour with one part salt and add water by eye so that the texture reminds you of plasticine.

The dough is formed in the required figurine with notches and baked in the oven for half an hour at a temperature 110-120 degrees. After that, the dough must be painted with acrylic paints, draw all the details: eyes, lips, cheeks and cover with colorless nail polish.

Of wire needed make the foundation. All other elements will be attached to this base. The base should repeat the preferred figure, for example, a person. For volume the base is wrapped with newspaper layers soaked in a paste. The ends of the wire (handles and nights) should be first wrapped with cotton wool, wetting it with a paste. After that, the newspaper covered with a layer of cotton.

On the top of the wire should attach a face molded from salt dough (make a notch in it in advance). All details should be done very carefully, hands should be washed frequently, as paints will remain on them and spoil light shades. You can form pigtails, hats and other little things with the help of thin wooden sticks, which should always help you in your work.

Making a Christmas tree toy in the form of a pig:

  • From the Christmas ball of any size you choose, remove the loop.

  • We paint the ball itself in a pale pink color using acrylic paint and a sponge, let it dry. It is very convenient to make several of these cute Christmas tree toys of different sizes at once.

  • After drying, we apply acrylic varnish to the ball to fix the paint and give the Christmas tree toy a smoother and shiny surface.

  • After the ball dries again, we insert the hanging loop, which was removed at the beginning, you can thread a pre-prepared ribbon into it, tying it with a spectacular bow.
  • We take any work surface on which we will create all the decor elements for a Christmas tree toy in the form of a symbol of the coming year.

  • First, we take a small piece of pink polymer clay, knead it and shape it into a round or oval patch, you can do both if you are making several Christmas tree toys for the New Year 2019.

  • We attach the resulting patch in the middle of the ball, with a sharp stick or an ordinary pencil we form two holes on the patch.

  • From a piece of white clay, divided into two equal parts, we form eyes in the form of two flat droplets, attach them over the patch, close to each other.

  • Next, we take a small piece of white clay, divide it in half, give the two pieces the shape of small identical triangles.
  • From pink clay we make similar triangles of a smaller size, put them on white triangles, bend the tops slightly, achieving similarity with the ears of a pig, attach it to the top of the ball.

  • We make a sausage from a piece of pink clay, divide it into 4 parts, on one side of each part we make a notch with any object, so we get hooves. We also attach the legs to the ball, we check that it stands steadily.

  • We remove all the details from the ball or several balls and send it to the oven for 15 minutes.

  • After removing from the oven, glue all the details to the ball with hot glue. Draw the eyes with black paint.

Patterns for Christmas toys made of felt (photo gallery):

Manufacturing step by step:

  1. We put figures of animals or other objects on paper, cut out patterns.
  2. We impose patterns on the prepared pieces of felt. If we make a toy from thick felt, then we cut out one part of each pattern.
  3. If we make voluminous toys from thin felt, then we cut out two parts for each figure.
  4. We sew the details either from the inside, then turn them inside out, or we sew them with a decorative seam with multi-colored knitting threads on the front side of the toy.
  5. We fill the workpiece with synthetic winterizer or cotton wool, giving the desired volume, we process the open space.
  6. We sew the appropriate decorative elements on the toys, showing imagination. You can also actively use embroidery, as well as decorative colored stitching, to decorate felt toys.
  7. If we make a toy in the form of an animal, then we attach all the necessary details from improvised materials: eyes, nose, mouth.
  8. We sew loops to the resulting bright and varied Christmas toys from felt and decorate the Christmas tree for the New Year 2019.

Someone is preparing for the new year, decorating the Christmas tree with expensive designer decorations, and someone with cheerful multi-colored electric garlands and glass balls from the store.

Such Christmas tree decorations will undoubtedly make the New Year's beauty stylish and beautiful, but, unfortunately, they cannot be compared with hand-made toys. After all, the very process of their creation not only enhances the anticipation of the holiday, but also gives invaluable minutes of communication to all family members.

There are a lot of options on how to make Christmas tree decorations with your own hands for the new coming year, but the most affordable and not requiring special skill in manufacturing are New Year's paper toys. You only need improvised materials that can be found in any home, a little patience and creative imagination.

The most common and versatile toys for the new year are Christmas balls. You can make them yourself from any thick paper: colored cardboard, colorful postcards or old magazine covers. Monochromatic balls will give a single style to the room, and multi-colored - an atmosphere of fun and fabulous magic.

So, before you start making these paper toys, you need to prepare the following:

  • thick paper with a pattern you like;
  • scissors;
  • PVA glue;
  • a compass or any object, outlining which you can reproduce a circle (jars, lids, glasses, etc.).

How to do:

  • Draw 21 identical circles on paper and cut them out with scissors.

Prepare the circles as follows:

  • bend the circle twice in half (this is necessary to determine the center);
  • unbend the circle and bend one side of it so that the edge of the circle is exactly in the center;
  • bend two more sides of the circle to make a triangle with equal sides;
  • cut out the resulting triangle, which will play the role of a pattern for the rest of the details;
  • impose a triangle on the rest of the circles, circle with a pencil and bend the edges outward along the lines.
  • Glue 10 circles together with two sides so that you get a strip: 5 circles on top, and 5 on the bottom. The strip must be glued into a ring. This will be the base for the ball.

  • Divide the remaining 10 parts into 5 pieces, which are glued into a circle. Got two "caps".

  • Glue the top and bottom "lid" to the base in sequence.
  • The loop for hanging the ball can be made from a thread threaded through the top of the toy with a needle, or from a beautiful ribbon. A loop of ribbon is fixed with a knot and threaded through the top of the "cap" of the ball before gluing it to the base. The knot stays inside the toy, and the loop stays outside.

The original do-it-yourself paper toy is ready for the new coming year!

Volumetric snowflake

Another indispensable attribute of the new year is snowflakes. They can be the simplest, cut out from a sheet of paper with an arbitrary pattern, or they can be voluminous using the origami technique. We offer to make the last version of the New Year's snowflake with your own hands.

To do this, you need to cut six squares of the same size, fold each of them diagonally, and then in half. Parallel incisions are made along the fold. The square unfolds, the inner tongues are wrapped and fastened together.

The outer petals are connected to the same petals of the remaining squares. You can attach them both with glue and with a regular stapler.

As you know, dragons laid eggs once a century - of course, when they were found on earth. Anyone who owns a dragon egg today must definitely hang it on the Christmas tree on New Year's Eve and make a wish. Even if it is fantastic, it will still come true! To make the magic work, we make dragon eggs with our own hands.

  • Cardboard
  • push pins
  • nail polish,
  • foam blanks
  • superglue, thread, paper clips.

Manufacturing process:

  1. First, the “skin” of the dragon is made for the egg. To do this, buttons are stuck into the cardboard and painted with colored nail polish. In this form, the workpiece is left overnight.
  2. The next day, ready-made buttons can be stuck into a foam blank. It is important to ensure that one row of buttons slightly covers the next. We set the paper clip at the top of the egg and glue it with superglue.
  3. Then we tie a thread to it. That's it - the wish-granting dragon egg is ready! It remains only to wait for the Christmas market, bring the Christmas tree home and hang the toy on the tree.

  2. We wind them on pencils or felt-tip pens and leave them in this form for four to five hours.

Christmas balls from newspaper tubes

Well, what else can we offer you, dear friends?! Among the cool DIY Christmas decorations, a ball made from newspapers can undoubtedly become. Surely, you have a decent pile of press lying around at home, so use it for such a useful creative work. You, as they say, kill two birds with one stone - and use the extra trash, and bring beauty to the New Year 2019.

To create you will need:

  • old newspapers;
  • polymer glue;
  • foam ball;
  • rope for hanging toys on the Christmas tree.

Manufacturing process:

  1. We take our magazine or newspaper and boldly borrow a leaf, or even a few, to create a large tourniquet. Using polymer glue, we help the flagellum to take on the image of the necessary twisted part. If a small bundle is obtained as a result of twisting, then we make as many of them as it takes to wrap our entire ball.
  2. Now it's time to get the foam ball and decorate it with our newspaper blanks. We wet the edge of the flagellum with polymer glue and lean it against the surface of the base of the ball, while pressing it tightly.
  3. It is necessary to wrap the entire ball with a paper tube, starting from the top and ending with the bottom. This must be done very carefully, since any flaws will subsequently be noticeably visible. When the entire Christmas tree toy is covered with paper decor, the edge of the newspaper bundle must be cut off and hidden inward, while securing it with a small amount of glue.
  4. At the base of the ball, you should glue an eye of thread or some kind of rope for easy hanging on a Christmas tree. Here is such a creative craft we got for the New Year 2019 with our own hands. If you want, the finished surface of the product can also be coolly transformed with sparkles, rhinestones, thin twine bows, or some kind of metal plaques purchased in a specialized store. Everything is up to you.

Yellow felt pig

Handmade pigs will be useful not only as Christmas decorations, but as gifts for friends and relatives. Felt yellow pig is a real "nail" of the upcoming New Year's season. Especially if it is made in the form of a keychain.

To make a souvenir you will need:

  • felt of any shade of yellow, the main thing is that the material is thin. This is important in the manufacture of small parts of the talisman of the year.
  • Two black beads and two pink
  • yellow watercolor
  • Bright fabric for a bow
  • Super glue
  • Sintepon
  • Threads, needles and scissors with paper for cutting.

Manufacturing process:

  1. First you need to make patterns for the product: two parts for the body of the pig, two for the head of the animal, two for the ears and a patch and a template for the tail. The size of the patterns depends on the intended size of the future pig.
  2. We place the finished patterns on a piece of felt and attach with safety pins. We cut out the details from the fabric, sew them together and stuff them with padding polyester.
  3. We also sew the patch, head and ears. We sew two pink beads to the patch, two black beads for the eyes on the muzzle. In the process of sewing the head of the toy between the parts, we put a ribbon with a key ring.
  4. We cut out a bow from their fabrics and glue it on the neck or head, and draw a blush on the cheeks of the pig. The tail can be tightly wound with a regular toothpick. Everything - the talisman of 2019 - is ready!
  5. You can make several of these pigs by putting home production on stream. But on the eve of the New Year, you won’t have to rush and fuss to look for talismans and spend money on buying piglets.

Light bulb snowman

An excellent Christmas tree toy is obtained from the most ordinary light bulb. The main thing is that it has a pear-shaped shape.

To make a souvenir you will need:

  • white gouache
  • piece of woolen cloth
  • foam rubber or sponge for dishes
  • hot glue and colored cardboard
  • twigs
  • a piece of twine
  • embroidery threads
  • a pair of bright medium buttons

Manufacturing process:

  1. First, paint the light bulb with white gouache. Acrylic paint or water-based emulsion is also suitable. Ideally, you need to paint the base for a snowman with a piece of foam rubber, while working with a brush, you can leave stripes. Apply gouache in two layers.
  2. Next, a small hat for a toy is sewn from a piece of woolen fabric, which is glued to the metal base of the lamp. Now twine will come in handy: we make a pom-pom from it and sew it on a hat.
  3. From red or orange cardboard we cut out a triangle for the traditional “carrot” nose, from black - eyes. Glue the details on the light bulb.
  4. Hands will turn out perfectly from twigs, if there are none, you can carefully cut off a couple of twigs from an ordinary broom. From the remnants of the fabric, cut out the scarf and glue it crosswise.
  5. Glue the buttons.

Manufacturing process:

  1. Knead the dough and divide into several pieces. Roll out like a cookie and cut out shapes. The Christmas tree can be cut with a knife yourself. If desired, you can draw a picture on the products
  2. The next step: creating holes for the ropes on which the toys will be hung. They are obtained with the help of straws for cocktails.
  3. After that, we send future toys to the oven, where we leave them for ten minutes at a temperature of at least 140 ° C. When the toys have cooled down, paint them to your liking, make ropes and decorate. You can use beads or foil.
  4. By the way, the same procedure can be done with ordinary oranges. The fruit is cut into circles and baked in the oven for two hours at a temperature of at least one hundred degrees, but not more than one hundred and ten. After that, the citrus becomes hard, like a toy. It remains only to insert a paper clip with a thread into the product.

Ideas for DIY Christmas toys made of polymer clay

Polymer clay- not so long ago, a very flexible material that appeared on the needlework market, has practically no boundaries for the embodiment of fantasy material. Of course, the technique of working with polymer clay has its own nuances and not everything can turn out perfect the first time, but with certain skills, New Year's trinkets-toys from this material turn out to be very beautiful, original and durable.

So, we make toys for the New Year from polymer clay:

  1. The material itself is simple, like plasticine, but after firing it hardens to the state of ceramics. When working with him, you can especially take your time, but you won’t be able to stretch the work for several days.
  2. One of the simplest options for toys made of polymer clay is considered to be decoupage: the picture you like from the napkin is applied with the help of perfume or strong alcohol on a rolled out layer of clay of the corresponding color. The remains of the clay base are cut along the contour. If desired, the toy can be covered with craquelure, which will “age” it, make it vintage and so stylish. After firing, the decoration will become hard as a stone.
  3. Technique "milfiore" (multicolor) also does not represent anything particularly complicated: the clay is rolled into cords, which are applied to each other in a certain way, forming a sausage. The sausage can be additionally wrapped with a thin clay layer, which will become a shell. We cut the formed sausage across into thin circles or squares - depending on the size of the cut, such blanks can already become independent decorations, it is only important not to forget to make a hole in them. And you can combine these squares into a large canvas and cut Christmas trees, animal figures, hearts, stars into stencils - whatever inspiration commands!
  4. The easiest way to work with polymer clay is ordinary modeling just like plasticine. Even the smallest ones can handle this task! Painted houses, snowflakes, owls, penguins - the kid can do whatever he wants, even a whole fairy tale!

If Christmas tree decorations are made from polymer clay, do not forget to make a hole for a thread or ribbon in them at the modeling stage: this cannot be done in a fired product

Usually polymer clay toys are made small in size- this is necessary for uniform firing, which should complete the creative process. A variety of colors allows you to make bright, realistic Christmas tree decorations, but single-color toys can also be very good - for example, in this photo of a Christmas tree with homemade white Christmas tree decorations, the fluffy beauty seems to be covered with magical frosty patterns:
