material of two varieties: light and thinner for the top layer, dark and dense for the bottom. You can use cotton or linen fabric. A product made from these fabrics will definitely not cause allergies, retain color for a long time and will not shed;
synthetic winterizer for filling;

sewing tools: sewing machine, pins, needle, thread, scissors;
compasses and cardboard for patterns.

We start work. We draw the necessary schemes on cardboard: circles of different diameters - 35 cm, 25 cm and 19 cm.

According to these templates, we cut out elements from the material: with a diameter of 35 cm - from dark fabric 2 pcs., With a diameter of 25 cm and 19 cm - 6 pcs. from light and 6 pcs. from dark fabric.

For the center of the flower, we cut out 2 rectangles from dark fabric, the length of which is 50 cm and a width of 10 cm, and on one side we make a semicircle along the entire length.

To make a petal, we need two elements of the same diameter, but different in color, we fold them inside out to each other and sew an oblique inlay to the edges on a typewriter, while leaving 5-7 cm so that we can put the synthetic winterizer in. We carry out such actions with all elements of the same parameters and a strip for the middle.

We fill it with padding polyester through the left gap and sew it up.

We pin all the petals to one side to give them a shape.

We collect the flower itself. We sew a petal with a large diameter to the base (a circle with a diameter of 35 cm), while retreating from the edge of 3-5 cm. We sew the other petal, slightly calling on the first, and so on all six petals.

By the same principle, we sew the petals with smaller dimensions, placing them between two large ones. We twist the strip that was prepared in the shape of a bud and sew it into the middle of the rose. Our beautiful flower is ready!

We will need:

pink and beige satin fabric;
edging;
synthetic winterizer for filling;
accessories for sewing;
templates.

We cut out four elements of each template from the materials: beige - small in size, pink - larger in size, making the length along the fold of the upper petal approximately 19 cm, and the lower one - 24 cm. We will also need to cut out two strips of different colors 1 m long and 7 cm wide. We attach a piping to the front side of the petals of smaller dimensions from beige fabric around the entire perimeter. The cuts need to match.

We put a suitable element of pink material on top and sew along the edge, while aligning the cuts along the circumference. We turn it on the face and correct the irregularities with scissors.

We combine the seams, find the centers of the elements and make notches on them. We fill the petals with a synthetic winterizer. We sew the bottom of the elements, while making an opposite fold on the top.

We cut 2 rectangular parts together with a piping, turn it inside out, fill it with synthetic winterizer and sew it up where the second cut is. Then we twist this blank in the form of a bud and fasten it from below by hand sewing.

Cut out two circles with a diameter of 32 cm and different materials. We fold them face to face and sew them to the synthetic winterizer, while leaving a gap to turn inside out, after which we build it up.

To the base that we got, stepping back a little from the center, we sew large petals, stepping back a little from the middle. In this case, uniform folds should be obtained.

We attach the next two petals in the same way. On top of them we put four smaller petals and, not forgetting to make folds, sew them to the base.

Pillows in the form of flowers give the room a special charm. They look spectacular on the sofa and armchair. Sleeping on these, however, is not very convenient, but such products for sleeping are not intended, they have an exclusively decorative function. If you have taken up needlework for the first time, it is better not to rush to the store for an expensive spectacular fabric, but to see what you have in your closet. Preparing fabric

In order for a thing to be used in a new capacity, it must be processed:

Carefully cut off all buttons, buttons and hooks.
Remove threads.
Spread the product at the seams, not forgetting the darts, cuffs, collar and other small details.
What you will never need with a guarantee is better to throw it away right away.
Wash pieces of fabric thoroughly, iron if necessary.
If there are damaged areas, remove them.

Important! Regardless of whether you buy new fabric or decide to use old clothes, the material must meet certain requirements:
it should be thin, but dense and not very crumbling;
it is better to take a plain fabric or with a small pattern, otherwise the shape will be poorly visible.

At the same time, the ability to change dimensions after washing does not play a big role, although it is useful to wash new cotton or linen before work or iron it through a damp cloth.

What else do you want?

To make a flower pillow with your own hands turned out to be effective and of high quality, you will need a few more things:

sewing machine;
needles suitable for this fabric;
sewing threads of appropriate quality;
threads of a contrasting color for basting;
needle for hand sewing;
synthetic winterizer or thin foam rubber;
braid - in tone or contrast;
cardboard for the template;
ruler;
compass;
ball pen.

Braid

The braid can be of two types - thin for processing the edges of the petals and wide for sheathing the middle. With the petals, you can do otherwise - for example, sheathe them with narrow lace. As for the quantity, it will need about 15 m.

Sintepon and threads

A synthetic winterizer needs about 3 m. You can, of course, fill the petals with thin sheet foam rubber, but this option is worse - over time, this material begins to release substances that are not very healthy. The synthetic winterizer is absolutely neutral, so a do-it-yourself rose pillow will serve you until the fabric falls apart.

Important! Parts stuffed with this material can be stacked assemblies, and this is very important for this product.

Threads are best selected for a specific fabric. Cotton or linen is more convenient to sew with cotton, everything else is synthetic.

Important! If you have to connect several parts from different materials, synthetic threads (not nylon) are preferable.

Pillow options

A do-it-yourself rose pillow is made from several petals. The number of them depends on the size of the product:

A small pillow (for example, for a doll's corner or a crib) consists of 5-6 petals laid out in one layer.
The product for the sofa consists of 8 or even 12 identical elements.

Important! In both cases, they are attached to the middle - a two-layer circle.

Do-it-yourself rose pillow pattern

Any sewing begins with cutting. Decorative pillow in this sense is not an exception at all. There are only two cutting options:

all petals are the same in shape and size;
The pillow is made up of two layers, and the top petals are smaller than the bottom ones.

In the first case, you need one template, in the second - two, but they differ only in size. By the way, according to the same principle, a chamomile pillow is sewn with your own hands, and a poppy, and any other flower - they will differ only in the shape of the petals.

Important! You can make petals of different shapes, but it is important that one side, which is sewn to the middle, is straight.

Making a template

You can, of course, find a rose petal pattern on the Internet or a needlework book, enlarge it to the desired size and cut it out. But there is nothing difficult in drawing it with your own hands:

Lay a sheet of cardboard about A4 size on the table with the short side facing you.
Set aside 3 cm from the upper right corner.
Find the middle of the upper short side, mark it with a dot.
Set aside 8 cm from the upper left corner and make another mark.
Connect these three points with an arc.
Set aside 1 cm from the lower right corner.
Connect this point to the lower left corner with a smooth line.
Connect the same point to the beginning of the upper arc, that is, to the point that is on the left long side at a distance of 8 cm from the corner.
Cut out the template along the outline.

Important! For a smaller petal, first cut out a rectangle, for example, reducing the standard sheet by ⅓ vertically and horizontally. It's okay if the petals are slightly different from each other in shape.

Center template

It's even easier than a petal pattern. You only need to cut out the circle:

If you made petals from an A4 sheet, a circle with a diameter of 10-15 cm is suitable for the middle if you are sewing a rose.
Chamomile will have a larger center.

There are no rigid ratios here, the main thing is to observe the approximate dimensions.

Do-it-yourself decorative rose pillow - the master class continues. And it's time to cut the petals. For a small pillow, all parts of which will be sewn from the same fabric, the procedure will be as follows:

If the cut is large, fold it in half with the wrong side out.
Fold the two pieces right sides together.
Circle the template strictly along the contour.
Cut out the details, making allowances of 1-1.5 cm along all sections.
Cut out pads from synthetic winterizer - from 2 to 6 for each petal, no allowances are needed.

Important! Cut out the middle from the same fabric according to a round pattern, not forgetting about the allowances. There may be more layers of padding polyester to make this part look more voluminous.

Pillow with two layers of petals

In this case, you need to cut out 4 large petals and 4 smaller ones - 8 parts in total. In all other respects, the cutting order is exactly the same as for the first option. The smaller the pillow, the thinner the petals will be. The lower ones can be made more voluminous, for the upper ones 2-4 layers of stuffing are enough.

Important! If you use foam rubber, only one layer is laid in all the petals and in the middle.

How to make a rose pillow if all the details are already there?

So the moment has come to arrange each element, in order to then collect them all together.

Middle

Let's start from the middle:

Cut a piece of wide braid about 3 times the circumference.
Sew along the long edge with a basting stitch and make gathers so that it matches the edge of the workpiece along the length.
Iron the allowances of both parts on the wrong side, if necessary, make cuts so that the fabric does not bulge.
To the part that will be on top, on the wrong side, baste the braid.
Fold the parts with wrong sides to each other, laying a synthetic winterizer between them so that it is under the allowances.
Baste the design at a distance of 1.5 cm from the edge so that you can put the petals between the layers.

petals

Each petal is processed in much the same way as the middle, but there are differences:

Fold the petal parts right sides together, matching all the cuts.
Sweep them along the rounded edge and stitch.
In several places, cut the allowances close to the seam.
Turn out the workpiece.
Press the open edge seam allowances inwards.
Insert synthetic winterizer.
Lay a basting seam along the open edge.

Important! If you decide to sheathe the edges with braid or lace, the trim must be inserted between the layers so that it protrudes from the front side in a straight line.

Assembly

Before sewing the flower pillow into a single product, slightly pull off the basting. Then proceed like this:

Baste the open edge of the petal between the layers of the center.
Attach the rest of the petals in the same way, tightening the basting if necessary and laying beautiful assemblies.
Sew the entire design along the edge of the middle with a zigzag or decorative stitch.

DIY decorative pillows in the shape of a rose with voluminous petals

The first step is choosing the right material. You can use two fabrics at once so that the product has a look close to natural. Let's say for the outside of the petals you need a rich pink satin, and for the inside - a darker and less shiny fabric. Another interesting option is that the texture of the fabric is the same, but the colors are different, for example, light satin on top and dark on the bottom.

First, we sew the center of the composition. It should be a circle with a small diameter, which will be equal to the length of one petal. We sew it from two circles of dark fabric, connecting the two parts with a seam from the wrong side. After the circle is turned inside out, you can put a little padding polyester inside it.

The next step is the bottom petals. Drawing them on fabric by hand is extremely difficult, so it’s better to make patterns on paper. You should draw them so that the four petals fit well in the middle. It is desirable that their shape turn out to be similar to a heart with a smoother top and not pointed, but an even bottom, as if one third from the bottom is cut off from an ordinary heart.

To sew a petal, you need to cut out two identical parts from the fabric, connect with a seam without touching the bottom, turn it right side out and stuff it with padding polyester. They need to be sewn on so that the bottom is slightly compressed. The seam is done without the help of a sewing machine.

For the second row of petals, smaller paper samples are needed. You need to create and sew the upper petals in the same way as the upper ones. Before sewing, you need to arrange them so that they are layered on the gaps between the lower petals.

The next detail is the middle, and it will require two long and wide ribbons from each fabric. We sew them together, without affecting only one side, turn them inside out and fill them with a small amount of padding polyester. We wrap the tape in a circle, put it in the middle and carefully sew.

The final step is the decor of the rose. Before purchasing jewelry, take into account the color of the top petals. If the rose has a classic red color, transparent silver rhinestones imitating dew drops will look advantageous on it. For orange and yellow roses, spectacular golden rhinestones are suitable. They will look like dewdrops under sunlight.

If the color of the product is light and delicate, try decorating it with pearl elements. When the rosette is bright pink, you can pick up bright rhinestones of the same color. If the flower is made in a non-standard color scheme, it will be original to choose a no less extraordinary color of rhinestones, for example, black or purple.

DIY decorative pillows in the form of a flat rose

For this cute decorative pillow, you will need a wide satin ribbon of a suitable color, synthetic winterizer and satin fabric. From a piece of atlas we cut out two circles that will serve as the basis. We sew them and stuff them a little.

The next step is tape processing. Its edges must be cut so that they form a ribbon of connected semicircles. Next, we begin to sew the tape, starting from the edge of the base.

After the edges are sheathed, we go down below and make another such circle. And, we continue to do so until we reach the middle of the base. Try to carefully sew the end of the tape so that it does not stand out.

Several of these pillows of different sizes and colors look unusually impressive. And to make this composition even more beautiful, you can cover the roses with glitter liquid. It is not necessary to cover the entire flower, you can decorate circles of ribbons in a checkerboard pattern or just the tips.

Another non-standard solution is a multi-colored flower. It is easy to make - just sew several ribbons of different colors into one.

DIY decorative pillows "unusual rose"

Felt flower - an original solution for the interior. It will require a dense felt of two colors or another similar dense fabric.

The first step is to cut out the base of the green felt in the form of a circle. Step number two - create leaflets. Their shape may be whatever your imagination whispers to you, but they must be large in size in order to peek out from under the petals. Cut them out and sew them to the base.

Step three - creating petals. We draw a circle on the felt and draw petals along its edges. Cut them out so that you get a thin ring with petals. We sew it to the base. Then, we continue to make such rings and sew them on until we reach the middle of the flower.

A bud should be made in the middle. The easiest way is to roll a long felt rectangle like a rug and sew it on.

Cut out blanks for the appliqué. You can use cardboard templates or immediately cut out the details from the fabric.

Arrange the elements on the pillowcase and achieve the desired picture. Mark the ground line with decorative tape. Choose the expression of the cat's loving eyes.

When you decide on the location of all the elements of the application, you can proceed to the last step. It remains to sew them to the pillowcase.

Sew with a small white zigzag the outline of a white cloud to a polka dot cloud.

Sew the contour of the fish to the prepared two-layer cloud with a green zigzag. Embroider the fish's fins and outline of the head. Attach an eye bead.

Fern, plantain, clover are perfect for prints. Tear off the plant you need, spread it on the fabric and cover with parchment. Beat it very hard with a hammer so that the juice stands out from the leaves, which is absorbed into the fabric and forms an imprint. Remember: you need to beat off the plants on a hard, flat surface.
