Decorating windows with liquid snow. Window decoration for the New Year (stencils for artificial snow and snowflake patterns). Window decoration by Irina Shumakova

Window decor will help create a festive mood for the New Year in the house. Glasses decorated with openwork snowflakes, "frosty" patterns made of artificial snow and figures of your favorite New Year's characters will allow you to feel the atmosphere of an approaching celebration, even if there are puddles and slush instead of fluffy snow on the street.

In addition, making window decorations is a great way to spend time with children and your loved one.

How to decorate a window

The easiest way decorate the window for the New Year 2017- stick cut out snowflakes on its glass. For all the simplicity of this method, it always justifies itself: light translucent snowflakes look very festive, creating a New Year's mood.

It is best to make such products of different sizes and shapes, then they will look more interesting. It is convenient to stick them with soap, for which it is enough to lightly grease one side of the snowflake with soapy water and attach it to the glass.

To decorate the window, it is convenient to use artificial snow in an aerosol and with images of New Year's motifs. To do this, you need to attach the stencil to the glass and evenly spray snow on it. The result is a beautiful picture that will delight with its appearance for a long time. You can buy stencils at the store or make your own by cutting out the desired image on thick paper.

Beautifully look on the window glass and patterns drawn with ordinary white toothpaste. Drawings can be made by evenly squeezing the contents of the tube onto a glass surface in a thin layer. Another way is to apply the paste on the window with a sponge or a piece of foam rubber, and when it hardens slightly, draw an image with a wooden stick.

How to cut paper snowflakes

Decorating a window with paper snowflakes seems easy, but not everyone knows how to cut them correctly. The whole secret of making such an ornament lies in the ability to fold a sheet of paper correctly, but the pattern of the future snowflake depends entirely on the imagination of its creator.

So, to make a snowflake, you will need;

  • sheet of white paper;
  • sharp scissors.

Step 1. First you need to create a blank. Cut out a square from a standard A4 sheet.

Step 2 We fold the resulting square diagonally so that a triangle comes out, which we then fold in half.

Step 3 We put the triangle at a right angle to ourselves and alternately bend its right left side inward so that the fold line falls exactly in the center of the top.

Step 4 Cut off the protruding corners.

The resulting part is the necessary workpiece. You need to apply a sketch of the future snowflake on it with a pencil, cut out the pattern with sharp scissors and lay out the resulting product - the decoration is ready.

In this case, you can use ready-made pattern templates or create your own. In any case, the snowflake will turn out to be openwork, symmetrical and very beautiful.

How to paint a window with toothpaste

The patterns drawn on the glass with toothpaste look very festive and are in no way inferior to those created from expensive artificial snow. The advantage of this method is not only its availability, but also that such drawings are easily washed off. Another plus is that it is quite possible to entrust the coloring of windows to children, since such a “paint” is safe.

To create an image of flying snowflakes on a window glass, you will need:

  • white toothpaste;
  • paper snowflake;
  • Toothbrush;
  • some water;
  • small container (cup, bowl, etc.).

Step 1. Slightly moisten the snowflake with water and glue it on the glass.

Step 2 We dilute a small amount of pasta and water in a container.

Step 3 We moisten the brush in the resulting solution, bring it to the window and run your finger along the bristles so that the splashes fall on the glass and snowflake. Evenly "spray" the paste on the stencil.

Step 4 After the spray has dried a little, carefully remove the paper stencil from the glass by pulling on the edge. The “negative” of the snowflake will remain on the window.

In this way, you can create a variety of drawings using special purchased or home-made stencils.

We decorate the window sill and cornice

When decorating windows for the holiday, do not forget about window sills and cornices. With a little imagination, you can turn these usually inconspicuous areas into the focus of New Year's decor. Moreover, for this it is not at all necessary to buy expensive compositions and decorations, because everything is easy to do on your own from the materials available in the house.

You can decorate the window sill with New Year's "vases": fill the flower pots with cones and twigs of pine needles, attach small Christmas decorations to them. Such a composition is successfully complemented by a small figure of Santa Claus, a snowman or, for example, a bunny.

Trays on which there are candles surrounded by cones, clusters of mountain ash, spruce branches and various New Year's attributes also look very beautiful on the windowsills.

To make the window look even more festive, you can hang Christmas decorations on ribbons or tinsel to the eaves. It is better to fix jewelry at different heights, then they will look original. You can decorate the window not only with toys, but also with small wreaths of spruce or pine branches.

A real find for creating Christmas decorations will be silver or golden spray paint. Using it, it is easy to turn ordinary cones, berries, branch wreaths or any other items into bright and stylish decor elements.

Having given free rein to imagination and creativity, you can unusually decorate any room and create a real New Year's mood. Even simple paper snowflakes on glass can transform a house, reminding you that the celebration is on the doorstep. Do not be afraid to experiment and create, and then the holiday will reign in the house for a long time.

New Year's window decor perfectly complements the traditional Christmas tree; this decoration looks very harmonious both in an apartment and in a country house. Children are especially reverent about window decorations, you must admit that the feeling of a fairy tale and New Year's mood are necessary attributes for the new year. In today's article, we decided to talk about a few ideas on how you can decorate the windows in your apartment in an original and quick way.

Idea number 1. Artificial snow patterns

You will need:

  1. carved snowflake
  2. can of artificial snow

Step 1

We glue the snowflakes to the glass on the water, carefully straighten the creases of the paper. Water will flow from the snowflakes, blot it with a rag.

Step 2

In order for most of the window to be transparent, we apply a little water to it with a sprayer.

Step 3

We apply artificial spray can snow on top of the snowflakes. Wait a few minutes for everything to dry and peel off the paper snowflakes. Thus, even if there is no snow outside the window, then at home you will have both snowflakes and an imitation of falling snow.

3

Instead of snowflakes, you can use any other paper cutouts in the form of snowmen, Christmas trees, deer and other symbols of the New Year or Christmas.

At the end of the holidays, artificial snow can be easily removed from the window surface with a damp cloth.

Idea number 2. Paper snowflakes

All kinds of attributes of the new year, such as snowflakes, stars, Christmas trees, help create a holiday atmosphere in the apartment. Experiment with color and shape, do not be afraid to make the New Year's decor bright and noticeable, because it will last on the windows for only a few weeks without having time to get bored.

5

If there is a child in the house, then all kinds of snowflakes and stars can be cut out with the baby, for this you need colored paper, safe children's scissors and imagination.

2

Idea number 3. Christmas decorations on the curtains

If the previous two ideas do not suit you due to the fact that after them a new task arises - washing windows, then the curtain decoration option does not require subsequent cleaning.

Hang a few Christmas balls tied together with a ribbon from the cornice - this simple and uncluttered decor will look great in a bedroom or living room.

2

You can also make a tie-back for curtains from New Year's toys and satin ribbon. The indisputable advantage of this decor option is that such decorations are very easy to remove and hide until the next New Year.

If you have a long garland with original hanging elements, hang it along the cornice. Such an impromptu "lambrequin" will give the room a festive look.

3

Idea number 4. Christmas toys, needles and garlands

Completely different garlands are suitable for decorations, if you wish, you can make them yourself: or.

Another interesting option for window decorations is Christmas balls suspended on a satin or any other ribbon / thread or fishing line from the eaves. Please note that such pendants look best when they are located at different heights in relation to the windowsill - the “chaotic” effect only adds color to this composition. If you have a radiator battery under your window, then the balls will sway a little from the influx of warm air.

Idea number 5. gouache painting

Experiment and use bright colors by painting Christmas trees, Santa Claus, snowdrifts, snowmen on the windows of the children's room. The process of painting on windows is so exciting that you just need to involve children in it - they will love it.

Carefully consider the choice of paints, the most common gouache, finger paints for children's creativity and acrylic paints that are washed off with water will do. The conceived drawing is applied to the glass and decorated.

1

If you do not have special artistic talents, you can apply patterns with paint through a stencil. To do this, you need to buy special stencils for drawing on windows (they are always sold in departments with New Year's decor) or make such clippings with your own hands (for this, it is better to use thick paper so that the stencil can be used several times).

Using the same paints as for painting with a brush, a sponge and a stencil, you can create a beautiful window decoration on the eve of the holidays.

Idea number 6. Christmas wreaths on the windows

New Year's toys and branches of needles will also help decorate the house on the eve of the New Year, it can be Christmas wreaths or just small coniferous bouquets hung by ribbons from the window opening. Take care to choose a beautiful tape for fastening such coniferous compositions - they can match the colors of windows, textiles in the room, the color of walls or furniture.

Before the New Year, windows are painted in kindergartens. Perhaps the patterns on the glasses are not quite in your style ... Mom has an exquisite taste, and it’s not easy to wash off all this beauty later. But there are at least two reasons to turn a blind eye to how “beautiful” it is: children simply adore this and Santa Claus will certainly not fly past your window (well, he likes all that ...). And one more thing: we offer you original ideas, so, painters, dip your brushes and have fun!

Once upon a time, people used to draw on the windows with toothpaste, but here the magic happens! So, we take gouache (it is also easily washed) with sparkles or special stickers - and go! And, yes, about windows: observe safety precautions! By the way, take a break for tea, and when you return, find a gift on the windowsill with the inscription: “Impressive! Keep it up!"

Ideas for gifts that landed on the windowsill:

  1. Can of artificial snow
  2. Socks with toes
  3. Glowing plasticine

Task for parents:

A child under 3-4 years old will probably want to continue the “banquet” on the walls ... The ideal option is to attach sheets of whatman paper around the perimeter of the apartment so that the child draws plenty. Is there no such possibility? Designate a specific place where you can do this. This "disgrace" from the point of view of a grandmother and a clean mother is a very useful thing from the point of view of psychologists. And even necessary for the development of creativity, a sense of the significance of one's own "I" ... Thus, the child tells the world: "I am!" If you already forbid drawing on the walls, then immediately show where you can turn around.

Task for the child:

Together with mom and dad, decorate the window so that Santa Claus will never fly by! We have prepared for you 8 best ideas that will help create a fabulous atmosphere in your home. Don't waste time - start pleasant chores now.

Snowflakes from PVA glue

For Christmas snowflake stickers you will need:

  • stencils for drawing
  • transparent files
  • PVA glue
  • syringe without needle
  • tassel

The huge advantage of such snowflakes is that PVA glue is non-toxic, so you can make as many of them as you like. In addition, such stickers are transparent, which means that during the day they do not block the view from the window, and in the evening they are beautifully illuminated with lights and flicker.

PVA snowflakes can be used several times: they are easily removed and glued back, they do not fall off the window. And if you decorate them with colored sparkles on top, the window will turn out just fabulous!

How to make snowflake stickers from PVA with your own hands, see the video instructions:

  1. After you have drawn the snowflakes, lay them out to dry in a place where no one will touch them.
  2. When the stickers are dry, remove them from the sheet and stick them on your New Year's window.
  3. If the snowflakes are a little smeared during the drying process, don't worry: this can be corrected with nail scissors by cutting off uneven edges.

Paper snowflakes

This method of decorating New Year's windows has already been tested for years, but this does not mean that it is boring! The pattern of paper snowflakes can always be varied, and to create them you only need scissors, napkins (or white paper), thin tape and imagination.

It is not necessary to cut out only snowflakes from paper: you and your child can create a whole fabulous composition on the window! Take white A4 sheets and cut out houses, Christmas trees, a month, stars, animals from paper!

Make beautiful New Year's stars with your own hands: this work will not take much time, and the result will please both you and those around you.

Decor elements on the windows are good because they can be admired not only by those who live in the house, but also by passers-by.

To make Christmas stars, you will need the following materials:

  • dentifrice;
  • thick paper;
  • sponge and scissors.

Draw an asterisk on paper. This can be done both in a computer program and with a pencil. If the contours are not perfect, it's okay.

Cut out the asterisk so that there is a small gap around the edges.

Prepare paint to decorate the star. Add water to the toothpaste (the solution should have the consistency of sour cream) and dye.

Attach the workpiece to the surface of the glass and then coat it with the prepared paint. You can create a composition of stars that differ in size.

There is another option for making New Year's stars - from felt.
To make the second type of star decor, prepare the following materials:

  • star stencils;
  • felt of different colors;
  • thick paper;
  • multi-colored cardboard;
  • threads;
  • needle.

To make felt stars, use stencils of several sizes. It is also recommended to use material of different colors.

Having made several stars, connect them to each other with a thread and a needle. You must form an imitation of a garland of multi-colored stars. Glue the resulting garland to the window frame on both sides.

colorful cones

Pine cones are a common Christmas decoration. But you won’t surprise anyone with ordinary cones - make them colorful!

In addition to cones, you will need paint, wire rod (wire) and newspaper.

Fasten the wire rod around the spruce cones so that after dyeing they can dry properly. When the cones are dry, remove the wire and tie them on the thread.
Gather several cones together, like a bunch, and hang them on the window, fixing them with adhesive tape. Cones can be painted both completely and partially.

In a room decorated with luminous garlands, colored cones on the windows look very presentable.

funny pompoms

To create this decoration, you need small pompoms of different colors, strong threads and a needle.

Thread the pompoms into long threads, creating an imitation of garlands.

On a note! Pompoms can be replaced with thick woolen threads woven into a ball.

Attach pom-pom garlands with tape to the windows. Pompom decor elements can also be used to decorate the Christmas tree.

You can learn how to make pompoms with your own hands by watching the video below:

Christmas balls

To make original balloons for the New Year's window decor, you will need balloons, threads and glue.

Inflate small balloons, cover them with glue, and then wrap them with threads. Pierce the balloon with a needle to release air and carefully remove it.

Decorate windows with balls of thread.

On a note! You can use both white threads and colored ones. White thread balls evoke associations with snow, and colored balls enliven the interior with their brightness.

Artificial snow and stencils

Decorating windows with artificial snow is easy and simple.

1. We take an interesting stencil and wet it with water on the one hand.

2. With the wet side, firmly press the stencil against the window.

3. We spray artificial snow on the stencil and a little around.

4. Leave the stencil on the window for 30-40 minutes.

5. Carefully remove the stencil from the window.

Another window we have is decorated with castles:

Decorate windows with toothpaste

We ran out of artificial snow suspiciously quickly. It was only enough for 2 stencils. But we weren't too upset. Friends said that you can decorate the windows with toothpaste.

1. We diluted the toothpaste with water and thoroughly beat it with a toothbrush until foam forms.

Window decoration toothpaste

2. Pasted a wet stencil on the glass.

3. Using a toothbrush, paint over the stencil by spraying.

I liked decorating the windows with artificial snow more. Quickly and it turns out beautifully - very similar to real snow.

And the youngest daughter was delighted with the spray. In addition to the stencil, we ended up with decorated toys and a window sill. And under the dragons, a whole snowy mountain “grew up” 🙂

4. Left the stencil on the window for 30 minutes.

5. Removed the stencil from the window.
