The work consists of two stages:

Knitting the top in the form of a ribbon 6-7 cm wide in garter stitch (all loops are facial). Its length varies depending on the size of the insole;

Sewing to the sole.

First you need to prepare the insoles. Stepping back from the edge of 0.5 cm, holes are punched with an awl in increments of 0.5 cm. They are needed to fasten the knitted top of the slippers to the sole. To complete the top of the model, 12-14 loops are typed on the knitting needles. This is the average height of the product and is selected individually (perhaps someone prefers high slippers, then they gain 15-16 loops). The tape is knitted, focusing on the number of holes in the insole - there should be 2 times more rows in knitting. For example, if there are 60 holes in the future sole, then a tape of 120 rows is made. After knitting, close the last row and cut off the thread, leaving a "tail" about a meter long. It is necessary for the subsequent stitching of the two parts.

The assembly process starts from the front of the slipper. The angle of the resulting tape should exactly match the hole at the top of the toe, therefore, inserting the thread into the needle, they begin to sew on the outside of the toe that part of the tape where the last closed row is located. Having reached the top of the toe, the corner of the tape is connected to it, then assembly is continued, sewing each hem of the knitted fabric with one hole with a “needle forward” seam and, thus, passing first the inner side of the sole, and then the outer one. Having advanced to the toe, the tape is sewn over the already connected one in the same way as it was done at the beginning of the assembly. It turns out such a kind of reinforced toe from the overlap of one end of the tape to the other. In order to hide the resulting seam and prolong the life of these slippers, a light silicone sole is glued to the insole from the outside.

yarn of medium thickness (150 m),

knitting needles number 3.5.

Progress

Gain 30 loops and knit 8 rows of garter stitch, not forgetting to perform the last loop in the purl row, and remove the first one without knitting. In our example, edge loops are included in the calculation. From the 7th row, they pass to the front surface - the front rows with front loops, the wrong side - with purl. So perform 16 rows and begin to form the heel. The number of loops is divided by 3, the central part will form it. Having knitted 19 loops with front loops, the 20th and 21st are knitted together with the front loop and the work is turned with the wrong side towards itself. Purl 9 loops, knit the 10th and 11th together, and turn the work again. Thus, a turn is performed, closing the heel and “picking up the side loops until they run out, and the heel is completely formed and 10 loops remain on the knitting needle.

To continue knitting, “get” 10 loops from each of the sides, introducing the knitting needle into the front half-loop of the edge. Continue knitting on 30 loops with front stitch. After completing 22-24 rows, they begin to knit the toe, reducing the loops in the front rows (there are 5 such rows in total):

7 persons loops, the next 3 knit together with one, 10 persons., 3 together, 7 loops. Purl rows are purl without any changes;

6 persons., 3 together, 8 persons., 3 together, 6 persons.;

5 persons., 3 together, 6 persons., 3 together, 5 persons.;

4 persons., 3 together, 4 persons., 3 together, 4 persons.;

3 persons., 3 together, 2 together, 3 together, 3 persons.

The remaining 9 loops are knitted purl. The resulting product has a heel, sole and toe. It remains to knit a strip connecting the halves of the trace from above. To do this, in the last purl row, knitting 9 loops, knit the 10th from the edge of the previous row.

Knitting is turned to the front side. A toe is formed by connecting it with an already completed canvas for edge loops, knitting like this:

Performing the purl row (9 loops), one more “get” from the edge, also knitting the purl. Those. in the front rows I knit 3 central loops together, on the sides - 4 loops each. In each row (front and back), the last loop, picked up from the edge, is necessarily knitted. The work is controlled by keeping the same number of loops (9) and advancing the track, while tying it in the edge of the canvases on both sides. Thus, a decorative "herringbone" is formed, connecting the two parts of the product and being an excellent decorating element. Such a connection is made before starting work, then the loops are closed.

Slippers with knitting needles without seams

If you do not want to form seams in products such as slippers, you can use the method of doing work on five toe knitting needles, knitting the heel first, in the same way as in the previous model (on 30 loops). Then get 10 loops on the knitting needles on each side, distributing 30 loops on 3 knitting needles, 10 each, and on the 4th dial 10 more loops, looping the work, i.e. connect with the 1st knitting needle. Knitting is continued in a circle with the front stitch of 22-24 rows (if the work is done from yarn of the same thickness) until the toe is started. It is easier to navigate by trying on work.

The toe is formed in the classical way, in which socks are “closed”. Conditionally dividing the work into halves of the toe (for example, top - 1st and 2nd knitting needles, bottom - 3rd and 4th), decrease begins:

On the 1st needle - 1 person., Then 2 loops together, the remaining 7 loops are performed according to the pattern, i.e. facial;

On the 2nd needle - 7 loops, 2 together and 1 facial.

In the same way, loops are knitted on the 3rd and 4th knitting needles, that is, on each pair of knitting needles, decreases are made at the beginning and end of the row. Naturally, the number of middle loops decreases with each row. When 8 loops remain on the needles, the thread is cut off, and the loops are collected on an additional thread, tightened, tied into a ring, and the tails are hidden inside out. If desired, you can decorate the model by crocheting the beginning of knitting, since the air set of 10 loops can stretch and bend a little, but if the fabric structure is dense enough, then no additional processing is needed for the product.
