Postcards are always a great addition to a gift. And if these postcards are made with your own hands, then the value of the gift rises to heaven, because the soul of the donor, his good mood and sincere wishes are invested there.

Materials:
- blue pastel paper 15x30 cm (density 160 g/m2);
- scrap paper - a square with a side of 15 cm (you can print a beautiful background on watercolor paper);
- a piece of paper for watercolor or drawing paper;
- green quilling paper width 2-3mm, red, light and dark yellow, stripes width 5 mm;
- quilling tool;
- a simple pencil;
- scissors manicure and curly;
- figured edge puncher;
- ruler-stencil with circles of different diameters;
- PVA glue carpenter;
- creasing (you can use a non-writing core of a ballpoint pen);
- half beads;
- silver-blue ink pad and "Congratulations" stamp;
- cutting - frame;
- and most importantly ... good mood!

Cut a 15x30 cm rectangle from a sheet of pastel paper. This is the basis of the postcard. For an even fold in the middle, go through the creasing and fold in half.

Pass a square of scrap paper with a side of 15 cm with a figured edge hole punch. If it is not there, then a beautiful edge can be created using curly scissors. In this case, the size of the square will be 14.5 cm.

Glue scrap paper on the front side of the card with PVA glue, placing it in the center. And put under pressure. You can use double-sided tape when sticking scrapbook paper. This glue is thick, quickly and firmly glues.

From a sheet of white office paper, measure a square with a side of 13.5 cm.

Cut off a 13.5 cm square with curly scissors. Thus, you get 2 even edges and 2 curly ones.

Glue on the inside of the back of the postcard. This will be the place to write your congratulations. You can decorate a branch with a stamp (as a gift while I was preparing the MK, so it is not in the photo with the material).

To create bells, you will need 6 strips, 5mm wide for each. Glue the paper tape in this way: 2 dark yellow + 2 light yellow + 2 dark yellow.

Using a special tool, twist a tight roll, glue the tip. Roll the second roll in the same way.

Gently extrude the roll, giving the desired shape. Fill with plenty of glue. And leave to dry. I used the ruler to take pictures.

For a bow, you will need 3 red stripes 5mm wide. Using a quilling tool, twist a roll from one strip and dissolve to 12mm. Make 2 parts.

Give the roll a “drop” shape, and then, holding the tip with your fingers, press the base of the tool (brush) on top. You get a triangle shape.

Twist a tight roll from the third strip, pour plenty of glue. This will be the knot of the bow.

To create a Christmas tree, you will need 36 strips 2-3 mm wide. (I had strips cut from office paper 5 mm wide. I cut them in half along the long side.) Roll a roll from a 30 cm long strip and dissolve it to 12 mm. Glue the end.

Give the roll a drop shape.

Lubricate all parts with plenty of PVA glue joiner and allow to dry. A transparent film is formed from the glue, which prevents the roll from crumbling. And gives flexibility.

Christmas tree assembly. Decide on a location for the tree. Glue the bottom row of 8 parts first, in the form of a small arc. Glue is applied to the workpiece. For preschoolers, you can draw the top line of the row to make it easier to navigate.

Then glue the second row of 7 parts, placing them between the details of the first row, sticking a little on top of the lower parts. Like this.

Each next row will be one piece less. Glue them in the same way as before. Thus: 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1.

Continue assembling the postcard. Glue the bells on the PVA glue joiner, placing them side by side.
F21

Decorate the bells with a bow by gluing the details, corners to each other. Glue a "knot" over the joint.

Trace the “frame” cutout on a piece of paper for watercolor or whatman paper using a creasing tool. Cut out with nail scissors.

Go through the edges of the cutting with a stamp pad of a suitable color. The ink pad can be replaced with watercolor paint by applying it to a sponge or foam rubber.

Stick to the chosen place.

Pass the ink pad over the stamp "Congratulations".

Place an imprint on the cutting. Be careful with this!!! You can put an imprint in place for congratulations.

Supplement the decoration with half beads using PVA glue joiner: in the corners of scrap paper and above the Christmas tree.

Today, quite a popular type of needlework is quilling. This is a simple technique that allows you to embody various images on a sheet of cardboard or any other surface. As a decorative material, strips of colored paper are used. Manufacturers present to the attention of consumers ready-made quilling kits, which include cut paper, paper twisting tools and tweezers for ease of working with paper. New Year's quilling cards can be made in a variety of styles and sizes.

New Year's quilling involves the choice of a thematic plot. On the Internet you can find many examples of work that can become templates for a future postcard or simply inspire you to create a new masterpiece. The most common plots associated with the New Year holidays are decorated Christmas trees, Santa Claus, Snow Maiden, Snowman, Angel, snowflakes, a symbol of the new year.

This year, a postcard with the image of the Fire Rooster, the symbol of this year, will be a good gift.

You can choose different sizes for the postcard. It can be a large panel or a miniature postcard with a minimum amount of detail. When making crafts and working with paper, it is important to remember that quilling requires perseverance and accuracy. To make a postcard with the image of a rooster, you need to prepare a template with its image. For beginners, it is better to use the scheme.

Master class on making a postcard "Cockerel":

  • Choose a suitable image of a rooster on the Internet.
  • Print image.
  • Prepare colorful stripes.
  • Twist the strips by hand, using a toothpick or a special quilling machine.
  • Give the rolls of colored paper the shape of a drop. To do this, you need to put pressure on him.
  • Using glue, fill in the template with the image of a rooster.

It is very important to work carefully. Avoid getting excess glue on the paper. After the image is completely sealed, the craft can be put on the battery and left overnight. Such a symbol on a postcard will bring happiness to the house and make the year successful.

How to make a DIY quilling card

Using the quilling technique, you can create not simple postcards, but entire New Year's compositions that will cheer up friends and relatives, allow you to decorate your home and tune in to the holiday atmosphere. You can make cards with the whole family - this will bring family members together and set them in a common mood.

If children are making crafts, it is very important to tell them about safety precautions and show them how to work with scissors, tools and glue before starting work.

The most popular symbol of winter and the new year are snowflakes. They decorate rooms, walls and windows. The quilling technique allows you to create more than simple snowflakes. They will be voluminous, technically simple, but at the same time they will be original.

How to make a snowflake step by step:

  • Cut the paper into strips or purchase a ready-made kit from a specialized store.
  • Use a toothpick to wind the spiral. Give it a little bloom and glue the tip with glue.
  • Spirals can be given any shape that fantasy tells. Or you can get acquainted with the types of twisting and pressing on the Internet.
  • You should twist as many elements as you need for a snowflake. Here it's time to turn on the fantasy and collect the finished elements into one pattern. One or more snowflakes can be glued onto cardboard by pasting a congratulatory backing in advance: “Happy New Year and Merry Christmas!”

Glue the elements with PVA glue and tongs if it is inconvenient to work with your hands. The snowflake shapes and patterns can be very different, as can the color of the snowflakes. It is important to remember that quilling is a rather painstaking technique that requires perseverance. But it calms well and has a positive effect on the nervous system.

Do-it-yourself quilling postcards for the New Year

In order to embody the idea of a New Year's image, first of all, it is necessary to prepare the basis. Usually a postcard is made from a quality sheet of cardboard. It can be given a variety of shapes: cut off the sharp edges, make the postcard open on both sides or leave it one-sided.

The most important attribute of the New Year in our country is the Christmas tree. It is her image that reminds of joy and gifts.

To make a Christmas tree, you need to cut green strips of colored paper. After that, you can start twisting the rolls. For beginners, professionals are advised to use a special tool for twisting, as long-term twisting gets very tired hands.

How to make a postcard step by step:

  • Prepare green "drops". They will form the basis for the Christmas tree. First, you should twist the rolls, and then, by pressing your hand, give them the shape of a “drop”.
  • Form a Christmas tree from the “drops”, having previously laid out the composition on a postcard without glue.
  • Separately, you need to roll a roll from a brown or black strip. This will be the tree trunk below.
  • Under the Christmas tree, you can place impromptu gifts, also twisted from multi-colored stripes.

This version of the postcard can be made even by those who are engaged in quilling for the first time. Christmas trees can be given different shapes by swapping elements or giving them a different shape. Experienced craftsmen use many twisting techniques to create stunning images.

Tips: how to make a New Year's card 2018 in quilling

Interestingly, the roles can be very different. And their shape and appearance depend on the quality and tightness of the winding. To make the rod tight, it is wound tightly and the end of the strip is immediately glued so that the roll does not bloom.

If the roll needs to be shaped, it should be slightly loosened after winding.

It costs nothing for experienced craftsmen to create a certain shape with one touch of their fingers. The more variations of forms for rolls in the arsenal of the master, the more interesting and original his picture will look. Quilling postcards are a great gift, especially if you use different techniques to create rolls when creating a postcard.

Tips for creating forms:

  • "Eye". Compress the workpiece on both sides.
  • "Rhombus". First you need to create a square, then flatten it slightly.
  • "Triangle". It is made from a “drop”, it is stretched, and the corner is slightly flattened.
  • "Heart". The strip is cleaved in half and twisted at both ends.
  • "Crescent". The roll is flattened on both sides and slightly curved.
  • "Sterla". It is made from a "triangle", the top of which is flattened.

You can also make “curls”, “twigs” and much more from rolls. When choosing an image, it is important to pay attention to the complexity of its execution. For beginners, it is better to choose simple pictures and use diagrams.

Beautiful New Year's cards quilling (video)

New Year and Christmas is the best time for experiments and new beginnings. Creating a postcard in the quilling style will surprise loved ones, please them, and bring a lot of peace and harmony to the performer during the work process. New Year and Christmas cards will come in handy when there is no money for an expensive purchase. But a handmade gift is priceless. You can make quilling strips yourself, or you can purchase ready-made kits in specialized stores.

Quilling (English quilling; from quill "bird feather"), also known as paper rolling - the art of making flat or voluminous compositions from long and narrow strips of paper twisted into spirals. The finished spirals are given various shapes and thus paper rolling elements, also called modules, are obtained. Already they are the "building" material in the creation of works - paintings, postcards, albums, photo frames, various figurines, watches, jewelry, etc.

The art of paper rolling originated in the late 14th and early 15th centuries in Mediterranean Europe. It is believed that quilling was invented by monks. Cutting off the gilded edges of the books, they wound them around the tips of bird feathers, hence the name (quill - translated from English as “bird feather”).

In Russia, this art became popular only at the end of the 20th century; quilling is also very popular in Germany and England.

This technique does not require significant material costs.

Very beautiful toys for the Christmas tree can be made using the quilling technique.

Christmas snowflake

Scissors;

Ruler;

Stationery knife;

Progress:

1. Cut quilling paper strips 25-27 mm long, 3-5 mm wide.

2. Insert the first strip of paper into the notch of the tool and slowly twist it into a spiral. In this case, there is no need to rush, because then the craft may not work out.

3. The finished spiral must be removed from the tool and placed on a flat surface so that it unwinds slightly.

4. Apply a little glue to the end of the strip and glue the spiral.

5. Make the required number of blanks.

6. When the required number of parts are ready, start forming a snowflake. Gently squeezing the round blank, give it the desired shape. Start gluing the pieces together, forming a snowflake out of them.

7. The finished snowflake can be decorated with beads, ribbons, rhinestones.

Christmas ball

For such a ball you need a base. It can be a ball of foam, plastic or glass.

To avoid disappointment and multiple corrections, before starting work, you should think over the concept of your work - what colors the ball will be in, more transparent or denser elements will make it up and only then proceed to implementation.

For manufacturing you will need the following:

Special paper for quilling;

Special tool or wooden skewer;

Scissors;

Ruler;

Stationery knife;

The base around which there will be a paper decoration.

Progress:

1. Make the required number of blanks.

2. Take the base and apply glue to it in the place where the element will be located.

3. Attach the element and let the glue set. And so, step by step, cover the surface with patterns. It is better to do this with tweezers so as not to wrinkle the paper. It is better to start with large details. For example, collect a flower from drops or a snowflake from rhombuses and stick it on the base. Arrange one or more large patterns symmetrically, and fill the remaining space between them with small coils.

4. The base will show through the openwork paper. This must be taken into account and selected colors suitable for each other. Quilling looks airy on a transparent ball.

Crafts using the quilling technique for the New Year

Snowflake

We will need:
  • glue;
  • strips of colored paper (you can use blanks from the store);
  • scissors;
  • threads;
  • matches;
  • beads.

Process of creation:
1. Wind the strip around the match
Take a match and use a sharp knife to split its edge. Pinch the edge of the paper strip into the crevice of the match and start wrapping it around the match. Make it not very tight so that the detail is more beautiful.
2. Make paper blanks
You will need 12 pieces of such blanks, so repeat the action 12 times.
3. Make a snowflake
Start shaping the snowflake. Gently squeezing the round blank, give it the desired shape. Start gluing the pieces together, forming a snowflake out of them.
4. Glue the beads
Glue beads around the perimeter of the entire snowflake. Make a loop from the thread and attach it to the snowflake. This craft will successfully decorate the Christmas tree in your home.

Christmas tree. Option 1

We will need:
  • glue;
  • toothpick;
  • strips of green paper;
  • scrap paper;
  • beads;
  • glitters;
  • greeting printouts;
  • corner punchers;
  • ribbon;
  • snowflakes.
Make frequent cuts on paper. To speed up this process, fold the strips in 3 pieces, and then cut.
Wrap the prepared strips on a toothpick and fix with glue. You should get a tight bud.

On one Christmas tree leaves 10 buds. Stick the buds on paper, and then fluff each one with your fingers, and you will see how the buds open.

Finish the corners of the rectangles with a decorative hole punch.

Make a ribbon bow and glue beads in the center. Cut paper towel into 1cm x 1cm squares.
Using the trimming method, make a snowdrift. For the tree trunk, use a paper bag handle.

Glue a printout with congratulations on the back of the card.

Using green glitter, cover the lush buds of the Christmas tree with glitter. The forest beauty will sparkle, as if thousands of lights were lit on it.

Christmas tree. Option 2

If you do not twist the quilling paper into such dense rolls as in the previous master class, but give them a shape, you will get original Christmas trees.

Volumetric Christmas trees made of paper

If you glue and assemble quilling paper into one piece, you can get a voluminous Christmas tree. Decorate the crown of such a beauty with a gilded star. Don't forget your Christmas tree decorations. Glue beads that will replace Christmas balls on a paper tree, apply artificial snow and sparkles.

Postcard with quilling decor

We suggest you make two postcards using the quilling technique: the first one will show a snowflake with a spruce branch, and the second one will show a Christmas tree with gifts.

Snowflake with fir branch

We will need:
  • pin;
  • openwork hole punch;
  • white, yellow and green paper, cut into strips (the width of each is no more than 0.5 centimeters);
  • ruler with circles of different diameters;
  • thick postcard paper.
First, cut out a rectangle. In the corners, make openwork elements using a decorative hole punch for this.

Take a sheet of paper and cut it into small strips. They are intended for the future snowflake.

Start twisting the strip, and then insert the roll into the diametral ruler. The end of the strip must be glued so that the roll does not lose its shape. Then squeeze the edge of the mug - you should get a drop.

Make a few of these. When there are several details, you can begin to select the location for them on the postcard and form the snowflake itself.

Make the same details in green. From them make a spruce branch.
Similar details are needed in yellow: they will form a candle.

Christmas tree with gifts

We will need:
  • pin;
  • openwork hole punch;
  • green and pink paper, cut into strips (the width of each is no more than 0.5 centimeters);
  • thick paper for postcards;
  • glue.
First, let's prepare the card itself, the base. To do this, decorate a rectangle of thick paper with openwork corners.

Cut green paper into strips, and then twist them, as you did in the previous version.

Make a drop by gently squeezing one edge of the workpiece.

Fold the finished parts into a Christmas tree, after attaching it to a postcard.

Make gift boxes. Use pink stripes for this. Sometimes, to twist small parts, use a pin.

As soon as all the details of the future postcard are ready, start collecting them into crafts. First glue the Christmas tree. And place gifts under it.

By the way, use beautiful cardboard as well as a quilling kit for your crafts. In this technique, you can create many New Year's motifs. Options for postcards, photos will come to your aid.

Tips for beginner quilling masters

To get a tight roll, you need to wind the paper tape tightly, and then fix the tip with glue.
If you wind the strip at first tighter, and then slightly release it, you get the so-called loose roll. You can give the workpiece and the shape of a half-rhombus or, for example, a drop, for this you need to flatten the part with your fingers. Most often, this technique is used in the manufacture of petals for a flower.

For each form, experienced craftsmen use different techniques.
Eye shape. It is necessary to compress the round billet simultaneously from both sides. "Square" shape. First, make an "Eye" shape, then rotate it vertically and squeeze the part again on the sides.
Rhombus shape. Make this part from the "Square" blank, flattening the figure a little.
Triangle shape. First of all, make the “Drop” detail, then grab the corner, and flatten the base of the triangle.
Arrow shape. Twist the “Triangle” blank, and then press the middle of the short side inward with your index finger.
Crescent shape. This detail is made almost like the “Eye” blank, only with a curved shape. The corners of the part are pinched with a shift, and not opposite each other.

Open Forms:
"Heart". Fold the strip down the middle. Bend both free halves inward.
"Horns". Fold the strip down the middle. Screw both halves out.
"Curl". Mark the middle of the strip, but do not fold. Twist the ends to the middle, only in different directions.
"Twig". Bend the strip approximately in a ratio of 1: 2. Twist the ends to one side.
