Since ancient times, it has been customary that in central Russia, of all the beetles, only May and ladybugs are loved. The first ones appear to the public in May, which is why they are named after this spring month. But why the second was given such a binding name, no one knows. Most likely, their interesting appearance is to blame for this, which to this day is played out in the design of many interiors, objects and materials.

It is recognizable to such an extent that it is enough just to put black circles on the kumach fabric, as anyone and everyone will say that these are ladybug motifs. Let's try to make something useful in everyday life in the form of a favorite insect.

In order to knit a pillow on a sofa in the form of a ladybug, you will need 300 g of black yarn, 200 g of red yarn, a zipper, eyes, a needle and thread and a hook.

  1. Crochet a tourniquet of 5 loops, lock it into a ring and tie a flat, even circle with a diameter equal to the length of the “zipper” with single crochets. This will be the belly of our beetle.
  2. The back, knitted not in a circle, but like a regular fabric back and forth, consists of two halves. They should be 1 cm larger than the bottom of the pillow.
  3. The side to which the “lightning” will be sewn, tie with two rows of black thread.
  4. Sew a zipper on the knitting.
  5. Make a beetle head. The knitted head of the turtle resembles a little black hat and is also knitted.
  6. We make spots, 6 black small circles.
  7. We knit 6 more small hats that will become the paws of the ladybug.
  8. Sew the spots to the red wings with black thread.
  9. Sew the legs and head to the bottom of the pillow.
  10. Fill them with padding polyester and sew all the parts.
  11. Pass a thread 80 cm long through the head and tie two chains from it. Tucking them up, get a small black antennae.
  12. Glue on the eyes.
  13. Fill the pillow with something soft and close the zipper.
  14. The pillow is ready. By the way, it can be a great place to store stash and secrets.

  • A small crochet ladybug is crocheted in the same way as a pillow, only without paws.

  • Having connected the flat black bottom with the thinnest hook, you need to continue knitting with a red thread, putting a circle cut out of cardboard or plastic inside.

  • Knit in a circle, gradually reducing the diameter. Before you close the top, put some foam inside.

  • Embroider knitting by decorating the back of the ladybug with a black stripe and spots with your own hands. Tie the head, decorating it with eyes and antennae.

Knitting starts from the top of the product and then is carried out in a circle. It is necessary to knit a red hat and make strings for it. Then separately knit a black muzzle of a beetle, two white and two black circles for the eyes and four black spots-circles. All this must be sewn to the hat. Then you should tie one long and two short black chains with your own hands. These will be antennae and a strip between the wings, which also need to be sewn to the hat.

Potholder. Example 1

The easiest way is to make a ladybug potholder with your own hands - a necessary thing in any kitchen. Knitting of this useful beetle begins from the middle with a single crochet in a circle with red thread. Without interrupting knitting, switch to a black thread and knit a head. Spots and stripes are knitted separately.

You will need: about 40 g of COCO white yarn (100% cotton, 240 m / 50 g), the remains of black and red yarn, hook No. 2, 6 black sequins, 2 heart-shaped buttons.

Description of knitting

dial 5 v.p. white yarn, close in a ring. In the center, knit 14 tbsp. s / n. Next, knit the bottom according to scheme 1 to model 11. Then knit without additions to the desired depth of the cap (= 14 rows). Edge tie 1 next to Art. b / n and one next to the pico.

Crochet ladybug

Dial a chain of 4 c. with a red thread. p., close in a ring. Knit 7 tbsp in the center of the ring. b/n. Then knit in a circle, evenly adding loops to a circle diameter = 6 cm.

Row 3: Sc all round (10 sc)
Row 4: Decrease sc, sc next. 6 p, decrease sc, 1 ch, deploy
Row 5: Sc along the row (8 sc)
Row 6: Reduce RLS, RLS next. 4 p, decrease sc, 1 ch, deploy
Row 7: Sc along the row (6 sc)
Row 8: Reduce RLS, RLS next. 2 p, decrease sc, 1 ch, deploy
Row 9: Sc all over (4 sc)
Row 10: Dec 2, ch 2, turn
Row 11: Decrease sc, cast off last st, hide yarn ends
Tie black yarn to the edge of the ear and ch 1. Continue knitting SC around the entire bottom edge of the hat (including the ears). Close the last loop and hide the ends of the threads.
Cut 3 long threads of red, white and black (you should get a total of 9 threads), thread them halfway through the last wall of the loop (you get 18 threads) Tie, braid and tie again at the end. Trim the ends of the threads to make the edge even. Do for both ears.

Ladybug Wing Line:
Using black yarn, knit a chain of suitable length from the middle of one edge to the middle of the edge of the reverse side. It is better to make the chain too long, because there is always the possibility of dissolving the excess. I knitted a chain of 65 ch for a hat for a toddler. Sew a chain in the middle of the hat with a tapestry needle.

Ladybug Spots:
Use black yarn
Amigurumi ring, ch 2, 12 CH in the ring, close in the first CH and tighten tightly. Close the last loop, leaving a tail for sewing to the hat.

Knit as many spots as needed. I knitted 12 spots for a hat for a toddler. It is better to sew on the spots after you have sewn on the face. Sew patches randomly on front and back.

Ladybug eyes: (2 pcs.)
Use white yarn
Amigurumi ring, ch 2, 12 CH in the ring, close in the first CH and tighten tightly. Close the last loop, leaving a tail for sewing to the face.
To make the eyes smaller, follow the same pattern, but use either PSN or RLS instead of SN.
Sew on a black button for each eye.

First, it’s easier to sew the eyes to the face, and then the finished face to the cap.

Ladybug face:
Use black yarn
Amigurumi ring, 6 sc per ring. Tighten tightly, but do not close. Get a semicircle. ch 1, unfold.
Row 2: *2 sc in the first st, sc in the next. *, repeat to the end, ch 1, unfold (9 sc)
Row 3: *2 SC in the first st, SC in the next. 2 p. *, repeat to the end, ch 1, deploy (12 sc)
Row 4: *2 sc in the first st, sc in the next. 3 p. *, repeat to the end, ch 1, deploy (15 sc)
Row 5: *2 SC in the first st, SC in the next. 4 p. *, repeat to the end, ch 1, deploy (18 sc)
Row 6: *2 SC in the first st, SC in the next. 5 p. *, repeat to the end (21 sc)
Row 7: *2 SC in the first st, SC in the next. 6 p. *, repeat to the end (24 sc)
Row 8: 2 sc in the first st, sc in the next. 7 loops, (7 ch, 2 dc in the second loop from the hook, connecting columns to the end of the chain - you got the first antennae), 2 sc in the next. n. in a row, RLS in the next. 7 p., (ch 7, 2 dc in the second loop from the hook, connecting columns to the end of the chain - now you have the second antennae ready), 2 sc in the next. p., RLS in the next. 7 p.
Close the last loop, leaving a long tail for sewing to the hat. The antennae do not need to be sewn on. Only a face.
