Create a beautiful wedding collage in Photoshop. How to make a beautiful wedding photo collage

In this Photoshop tutorial, we will make a wedding collage, which I foolishly highlighted in the last "wedding" lesson :) There immediately appeared a sea of comments requiring the continuation of the banquet. I promised, I deliver!

So, we create a wedding collage "Runaway newlyweds":

Let's take a photo (it is desirable that the newlyweds are in motion):

Duplicate the photo layer. Go to the bottom layer, double click on it and click OK in the window that appears. The background layer is now unlocked.
Next, take the tool.
Make sure you are on the bottom layer.

Select the area of the photo that you need to create a collage, without capturing those parts of the body or clothing that will protrude beyond the frame.

Press Shift+Ctrl+I to invert the selection. Then click Delete. The background around the photo will disappear.

Press Shift+Ctrl+I again to focus the selection on the newlyweds again.

Move to the top layer.

Grab the tool in add to selection mode.

Do the following - include in the selection the area with the legs or clothes.

Now press Shift+Ctrl+I again and then Delete.
Deselect Ctrl + D

Now you have two layers - one even rectangle, the other with legs.

Now you need to remove the extra parts of the photo to leave the legs and clothes clean.

It will turn out like this:

Take and form a frame around the photo:

Fill this layer with white color, you will get a white frame.

Merge the two bottom layers into one.

While on the bottom layer, press Ctrl + T , right click - select Warp / Warp (this feature is available in CS 2 and higher)

A grid will appear on the photo and the photo itself will become flexible and plastic, so you can bend it in different directions.

Try to draw something like this (remember we are working on the bottom layer):

Now go to the top layer, take the Eraser and start erasing the layer around the edges, that is, in those places where the top layer covers the white frame.

Create a new layer below all the others.
Fill it with some color.

Then at the bottom of the layers palette, click on the button and add the "Texture overlay" style. Choose the texture of your choice.

Add a Drop Shadow style to the middle layer to separate the photo from the background.

In addition, on a new layer, you can draw hints of shadow under the feet and clothes of the newlyweds with a gray brush. Then use the Blur filter to slightly blend this shadow.

You can add text.

The result is this collage.

Young people are always given a lot of different gifts for a wedding. Sometimes presentations are duplicated or do not bring much joy. Therefore, they are thrown on the shelf and gather dust there for years. Thus, the present should be special, memorable, one that will cause genuine admiration. For example, a do-it-yourself collage of photos for a wedding will please the couple and take pride of place in their home.

Making a paper collage

Newly married couples will be pleased to receive beautifully designed pictures that briefly tell them about their lives before they met each other. The fathers and mothers of the bride and groom can agree and present a joint collage for the wedding to the newlyweds from their parents. The easiest way is to make it out of paper.

It is necessary to choose beautiful photographs of the spouses: these can be children's pictures, photographs from the time of study at school and institute, frames with their friends. You should collect a multiple of the cards and make a composition out of them. square, rectangular or any other form.

All photographs are glued to the substrate. For this, special frames for a wedding collage, which can be bought at the store, are suitable. You can also use plywood, plastic or cardboard sheet. All photographs will have to be adjusted to the parameters of the substrate. Therefore, some of the pictures need to be cropped.

Photo collage frame

To attach photos to the base, use Velcro or double-sided tape. Substrate frames can be decorate with matchboxes, shells, other small gizmos.

Photo of seashells to decorate a frame for a collage of photos

If you made a collage in a simple frame, then you need to figure out how it will be attached to the wall. From the back of the substrate, you can drive a nail or attach a rope with a stapler. To prevent photos from getting dusty, cover them with decoupage glue and let it dry well.

Collage of matchboxes

You can make a wonderful wedding collage from photos and matchboxes. To make it, you will need 10-20 matchboxes. They need to be glued to the base so that some kind of geometric figure comes out. In order not to redo the work, it is better to first make a preliminary sketch. In it, be sure to write down each cell that should be in the final collage. Later, matchboxes will be invested in these cells.

Matchbox for making a wedding photo collage

Now we glue the boxes to the base, which can be used plywood sheet or cardboard. Decorate the base with decoupage glue or paint and let the product dry.

Next, using transparent glue, glue one picture into each cell. Between them, you can place additional embellishments to create an eye-catching backdrop for your wedding collage. When everything dries properly, you can cover everything again with decoupage glue. This will make the composition more solid.

Puzzle photo collage

If you decide to congratulate the newlyweds on their wedding day with a photo collage in the form of puzzles, then there will be no limit to their admiration. To create a composition, you will need to prepare:

  • glue;
  • printer paper;
  • Double-sided tape;
  • whatman;
  • colored corrugated cardboard.

Draw a sheet of paper into the required number of squares in the form of puzzles and carefully cut out. You have a template that you will later transfer to multi-colored sheets of corrugated cardboard.

Photo collage resembling puzzles

Fasten the puzzles into a single structure on a large Whatman paper. To strengthen the composition and give it a finished look, stick thick cardboard on the back of the paper. And if you stick another one on it paper with puzzles, then a double-sided collage will come out.

Pictures for puzzles can be changed by distance. This maneuver will give the design a twist.

simple rectangular shape

If there is no time to do puzzles, then you can make a simple rectangular collage. It is done on the sole basis of the photographs themselves. However, it has a stylish, neat and interesting look.

From the materials you will need 48 photographs (if there are not so many, then a smaller number, a multiple of four), a 40x60 polyurethane sheet substrate, adhesive tape, Velcro or hangers, foam rubber brushes, glue and double-sided tape are needed.

Place on a substrate both joint and single photos of the newlyweds. All pictures must be of the same size and quality. They should also be placed in even rows. To make the lines of the rows neat, it is recommended to mark them with a pencil, which will then be erased well with an eraser.

After that, all the pictures should be pasted on double-sided tape. And, as is the case with other collages, the finished composition is necessary cover with glue.

Whatever version of the composition you choose, young spouses will definitely appreciate such a gift and accept it from your hands with great joy.

Weddings are a magical time of love and romance - celebrate a new chapter in your life with a creative photo manipulation!

In this tutorial, I'll show you how to create a beautiful wedding photo manipulation in Adobe Photoshop. To begin, we'll put together a kind of outline of the scene, using mostly free stock images, and then we'll tweak the clothes to better fit the theme.

Wedding inspiration and themes

We will create this cool photo manipulation from the free images shown below. You can use your own pictures if you want to make a cute project or give this work as a gift.

Since a wedding is a special event in everyone's life, I wanted to portray this theme as perfect as in the pictures. To do this, I will simply change the colors of the outfit to traditional wedding colors and create a fabulous mountain landscape for a breathtaking effect.

Many creative couples choose to celebrate this occasion by adding something new and unique to it. You can look for inspiration for this theme on Pinterest or Google for "creative engagement photos" or "unique wedding photo ideas".

Let's start!

1. How to create a mountain landscape

Step 1

Create a new document. The size of my work is 1424 x 1920 pixels.

Copy and paste the mountain landscape image on a new layer. Adjust the size with the command FreeTransform(Free Transform) (Control-T) so that the image is a little smaller. This will help us create some extra depth.

Place the image in the document as shown below.

Step 2

Let's continue creating the landscape!

Now we need the bottom part. Copy and paste the other part of the mountain landscape on a second new layer below the first. For this step, you can use the quick selection tools like Polygonal Lasso(Straight Lasso) (L).

Select the lower left part as we will be creating a small path leading to the couple.

Step 3

Select one more area on the original photo, namely the lower sandy part - it will help us create a path leading to the center.

Copy and paste it on a new layer below the mountain layer.

Now add a layer mask to the mountain and path layers if needed. Hide the hard edges on each layer by painting black on the mask with a soft round brush ( hardness(hardness) 0%, Opacity(opacity) 100%).

Step 4

See the horses in the background? They make the image look a bit cluttered, so let's get them out!

To hide the horses, we will use the fragments of the landscape located nearby and hide them under the grass and earth. To do this, first you need to select an area using the tool Lasso(Lasso) (L) and then copy and paste it on a new layer above the mountain layer.

Place the grass on top of the horse to hide it. Use a layer mask to correct any hard edges.

Hide all horses. The result should be something like the image below.

Bye bye, horses!

When you're done, select all landscape layers, right click and merge them.

Step 5

Let's enhance the depth of field effect. By doing this, we will draw more attention to the couple when we add it.

Select the mountain layer. Select the area with the sky using the tools Magnetic(Magnetic) and Polygonal Lasso(Straight Lasso) (L).

Let's increase the blur.

Add blur tilt shift(Tilt-shift). On the mountain layer, click Filter > Blur Gallery > Tilt-Shift(Filter > Blur Gallery > Tilt-Offset). Create an effect like in the image below.

Change the setting Blur(Blur) by 15px and click OK.

2. How to create wedding dresses

Before we change the landscape even more, we need to add a couple and wedding details!

Step 1

Select the area around the pair with the tool Polygonal Lasso(Straight Lasso) (L). Don't worry about the edges - we'll fix them in the next step.

Copy and paste the pair on a new layer above the blurry mountain layer. Adjust their size with the function Free Transform(Free Transform) (Control-T) and place them in the center of the composition.

Step 2

Add a layer mask to the couple layer.

Using a hard round brush ( hardness(hardness) 100%, Opacity(opacity) 100%) paint with black on the layer mask to hide the extra areas left from the original image.

Don't forget to remove the gaps between their arms and legs too!

Keep working on the edges until you achieve a result similar to the image below.

Step 3

Let's get to the outfits! I love being a stylist!

Of course, wedding colors vary in different countries and cultures, but to make it obvious that the manipulation depicts a traditional wedding, we will create a black suit and a white dress for the bride.

Parameter values Hue(Color tone) and Saturation(Saturation):

  • Hue(Color tone): -19
  • Saturation(Saturation): -61
  • lightness(Brightness): +18

Step 4

Let's do the same with the young man's suit to make it black.

Create a second adjustment layer Hue and Saturation(Hue / Saturation) and also clip it on the layer with a couple using a clipping mask. Be sure to select the suit before adding an adjustment layer to change the colors you want.

Change parameter values Hue(Color tone) and Saturation(Saturation) to the following:

  • Hue(Color tone): 0
  • Saturation(Saturation): -100
  • lightness(Brightness): -27

This is what the result looks like at this stage! Well, what a lovely couple!

You can edit layer masks even more. Important areas such as skin or hair should not be repainted, so the effect should be hidden in these areas.

Step 5

Let's change the colors of the couple even more, as they look a bit gray now.

Create an adjustment layer Curves(Curves) and clip it to the couple layer with a clipping mask.

Adjust curves in channels RGB And Blue(Blue) as shown below to improve contrast and color.

Then, change the layer's blend mode to hard light(hard light) and lower it down Opacity(opacity) to 50%.

Step 6

Change the 3DLUT file to FallColors.look .

Step 7

Before we move on to the veil, let's intensify the colors of the portrait.

Create an adjustment layer color lookup(Color Search) on top of all other layers.

Change the 3DLUT file to Filmstock_50.3dl and then change the blend mode to Lighter Color(Lighter) and lower Opacity(opacity) up to 68%.

Step 8

Fake time!

To create such a veil, we need two shots - Bridal 1 and Bridal 2.

1. Select the first veil with the tool Polygonal Lasso(Straight Lasso) (L). Copy and paste it on a new layer, above the adjustment layer color lookup(Color search). Reflect the veil by pressing Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal(Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontally).

2. Adjust the size for the bride using the command Free Transform(Free Transform) (Control-T), and then add a layer mask to touch up the edges of the veil.

Step 9

To achieve a floating effect, let's add a second veil!

Using the same methods as before, separate the veil from the photo, place it on the working paper, and then flip it and adjust the size to fit the bride.

Place the second veil on top of the first and then create an adjustment layer Hue and Saturation(Hue/Saturation) and clip it over the veil layer with a clipping mask to change its color to white.

Change parameter values Hue(Color tone) and Saturation(Saturation) to the following:

  • Hue(Color tone): 0
  • Saturation(Saturation): -97
  • lightness(Brightness): -0

Let's increase the contrast of the veil.

Create an adjustment layer Curves(Curves) and clip it to the veil layer with a clipping mask. Reposition the channel curve RGB as shown below to enhance the contrast.

This is what our wonderful couple looks like now!

3. How to adjust colors

Almost all the main components of our manipulation are in place!

So now we will need to add a couple of adjustment layers in order to improve the color scheme of the image.

Step 1

Let's start from the mountain.

Create a new layer and clip it to the mountain layer with a clipping mask.

Using a Soft Round Brush (Hardness 0%, Opacity 70-90%), paint #184d0e in green at the bottom of the grass area.

Change the blend mode to Multiply(Multiply) and lower the opacity to 10%.

Create another new layer above this and clip it to the mountain layer with a clipping mask.

I'm trying to separate the grass in the foreground and background by playing with the light.

Now with a Hard Round Brush (Hardness 100%, Opacity 100%) paint light green #b9b522 on the background grass. Then change the layer's blend mode to soft light(Soft light).

Step 2

Create two new adjustment layers and clip them to the mountain layer with a clipping mask.

Select the mountain with the tool Polygonal Lasso(Straight Lasso) (L). Next, click Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Gradient Map(Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Gradient Map).

Create a gradient from green #22847e to light green #82b5a6 . Then change the layer's blend mode to Multiply(multiplication), and Opacity(opacity) - by 70%.

Now color balance(Color balance) and clip it to the mountain layer with a clipping mask.

Change the values in Midtones(mid tones) and Highlights(Light) to the following:

  • Midtones(Mid Tones): +2, 0, -55
  • Highlights(Sveta): +13, -16, -77

Step 3

Diffuse the sky by adding some white.

Create a new layer and clip it to the mountain layer with a clipping mask, and then use a soft round brush (hardness 0%, opacity 10-20%) to paint with soft white on the sky. Change the layer's opacity if necessary.

Make sure the brush touches the edges of the cliff, creating a slight fading effect.

Create a New Adjustment Layer Curves(Curves) above the mountain layer. It must not be clipped to the previous layer.

Change the position of the RGB channel curve as shown below. The effect is very light, but essential in order to soften the saturation of colors.

4. How to complete the manipulation

Almost all! Get ready to catch the bouquet!

Step 1

The last steps will contain mostly adjustment layers and small details. Let's try to finish quickly.

Create a New Adjustment Layer color balance(Color balance) on top of all other layers.

  • Midtones(Mid Tones): +14, -3, +6
  • Highlights(Lights): -1, -19, -10

And then lower the opacity of the layer to 60%.

Now add a new adjustment layer color lookup(Color search).

Change the 3DLUT file to 3Strip.look.

Step 2

We continue!

Add another adjustment layer color balance(Color balance).

Change the settings in Shadows(Shadows) at -50, 0 +1.

With a tool paint bucket(Fill) (G) Fill the new layer created on top of all other layers with pink #f2adaf.

Change the layer's blend mode to Hue(Hue) and lower it Opacity(opacity) up to 25%.

Step 3

Time to make the landscape shine!

Create a new layer on top of all the others and change its blend mode to overlay(Overlap).

With a Hard Round Brush (Hardness 100%, Opacity 10-30%) paint some highlights on the grass against the background leading to the foreground.

Follow the direction of the light, it falls from the left. Also draw light on the dress, bouquet and suit of the groom.

Step 4

We continue to enhance the parity of the image.

Create two new layers for light and adjustment. With a soft round brush, paint with white on the top to diffuse the light even more.

Then, using a Hard Round Brush, paint over the bride's dress with pure white, creating sharp edges around the skirt and veil.

Adjust the opacity of the layers if necessary. Below you can see before and after:

Step 5

Let's add some greenery!

Copy and paste the photo of the couple over your composition. Add a layer mask and hide everything except the lower parts with grass, as shown in the image below.

Then create a new adjustment layer Levels(Levels) and clip it on the couple layer with a clipping mask to improve the contrast.

It may be necessary to draw more grass to balance the landscape. Do this with a hard round brush and yellow color #f9f9da. Short curved lines are fine.

Continue working on the grass, adding layers of color as needed. Paint directly on these areas with a hard round brush at very low opacity (5-15%), and with the tool eyedropper(Pipette) (E) choose the nearest color for the example.

Don't forget to add a faint shadow under the bride and groom! Paint with a soft dark green under the pair, following the direction of the light.

Step 6

Now enhance the clarity with a new adjustment layer. Levels(Levels) on top of all others.

Finish off by creating a new adjustment layer. Gradient Map(gradient map). Change the gradient to inline Pink, Yellow and Green(Pink, yellow, green).

Then change the blend mode to color(chroma) and lower Opacity(opacity) up to 17%.

5. How to Add Text and Special Effects

To make this manipulation even more special, just add some text!

Step 1

Here, to create the text for our couple at the bottom of the image, I've used the Salbatora Script font.

Photo caption: Bao and Lynn's wedding story

Step 2

Alternatively, you can apply a "shining" action to the work (for a fee). First, save the finished manipulation, and then you can play with the action, enjoying the beautiful bokeh effect.

Below you can see the final result!

All is ready! Excellent Job!

Here comes the bride...

I hear wedding bells! Congratulations on creating a beautiful wedding manipulation inspired by love and romance. Take your time and enjoy the creation of this beautiful work.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Share your results in the comments!
