Did you know that a pillow can take any geometric shape, as well as the shape of any object or animal. Only on our website there is a description of pillows in the form of a heart, a lamb, Winnie the Pooh, owls, stars, cats, a rooster and female forms. The fantasy of needlewomen knows no bounds. Many beautiful covers and pillowcases are knitted from square motifs, especially the grandmother's square beloved by all of us.

An easy way to crochet an unusual pillow

First, choose the shape of the future product:

  • square
  • rectangle
  • roller
  • cube?

We knit with double crochets or without the desired shape. There are a lot of schemes on the Internet and in our section “for beginners”. For the first three options, you need to knit two identical parts: front or wrong side. We take schemes of flowers, leaves, round motifs, maybe even elements of Irish lace, knit a few of them and sew them on the front side of the cover. Your unique pillow is ready!
The drawing was invented by you personally and no one can repeat it. Someone got such a beautiful cover:

If you have a cushion cover ready but need to update it quickly.

In this case, select the appropriate threads by color and crochet any beautiful napkin. The main condition is that the diameter of the napkin should be no larger than the pillowcase. Wash the napkin, steam and sew on the pillow. Ready-made pillows for the base can be bought at Ikea. By the way, this is a great idea for a housewarming gift or for giving. Not a lot of work and time was spent, and a handmade item will remind the owner of your concern.

Crochet pillow, ideas from our website

We have prepared a selection of the most beautiful crocheted pillows and posted on the website.

I contacted a small decorative pillow from the remnants of threads. This is my first experience in knitting with motifs. I used the Children's Novelty from Pekhorka and hook No. 2. It took about one and a half hanks of both colors. The size is 34*34 cm. The front side of the pillow is made of embossed motifs with a pattern of lush "heart" columns, the back side is made of simple square motifs.

For the front, I knitted 9 motifs, of which 5 are yellow, 4 are white, and for the back, on the contrary, 4 are yellow and 5 are white.

Thus, colored motifs were distributed throughout the pillow in a checkerboard pattern.

Lush column

Often there are such knitting patterns, where two or more columns are tied together. If they are knitted into one loop of the previous row, then this column is called magnificent. They do it this way: all the columns - a double crochet or a double crochet are knitted to half, that is, the last loop of each column remains on the hook - it is not tied. How many columns - so many loops remain on the hook, plus the main loop. Grab the thread and pull it through all the loops and knit another air loop.

So, we knit 5 motifs according to scheme No. 1 with a yellow heart, 4 white motifs, and we tie each motif with one row of RLS with a thread in the color of the motif. Now we will knit 5 white and 4 yellow squares according to scheme No. 2. To get a square of the same size as a motif with a heart, six rows and tying in a circle of RLS will be enough.

Now let's put the motives in the correct order:

and start connecting them. I decided to use a relief protruding seam for the front relief part of the pillow, making it white. That is, you just need to connect both motives with one row of RLS. To do this, we pick up the motives with the front side out and begin to connect them by inserting a hook under both walls of the loop:

You need to start from the first loop of the strapping of this edge, without affecting only the most corner loop of the strapping. When 2 motifs are connected, we leave 2 corner loops of the strapping not connected, we make an air loop

and "attach" the next 2 motives similarly to the first two. We do the same with all other motives of the front side of the pillow. Now the motifs are connected along, let's move on to connecting the remaining sides.

The connection takes place in the same way as before, only now at the intersection of the seams after the end of the connection of 2 motives to the next 2, we do not make the VP, but simply stretch one loop that connects the motives a little more than usual:

This is enough so that the corners of the four motifs are not pulled together and the intersection of the seams does not bulge.
When all the motifs are connected, you need to tie the RLS in a circle around the resulting canvas in order to align the edges, and the connection of the front and back canvases was convenient:

We connect the motifs of the back of the pillow, also with a white thread. Since they are flat, without relief, we will perform the seam for the connection on the wrong side of the motifs. The connection is the same as the connection of the front leaf

Now we sew a zipper on the right side, and crochet the remaining edges on the wrong side of the RLS in the same way, for both walls of the loops. Especially for this cover, I sewed a small pillow, which, unfortunately, turned out to be a little smaller than necessary. Now we turn the cover on the front side and put it on the pillow.
It turned out to be a nice decorative pillow. On the one hand there is a relief, and on the other side you can lie down :)

Owl pillow. The idea is not mine. It was seen on the vastness of the almighty Internet, such owls are knitted by a certain lady from Norway. I liked the idea, but the scheme was nowhere to be found. Then, peering at the photographs, I repeated what I saw and it happened at

Home comfort consists of thousands of little things, most of which you can easily create with your own hands. Knitted pillows are that home accessory that no true needlewoman will deny herself the pleasure of knitting.

Firstly, knitting a pillow is considered one of the easiest ways to learn the basics of crocheting, so any novice craftswoman taking her first steps in the art of crocheting can do it.

Secondly, a knitted pillow will decorate any interior - both artsy classic and modern minimalist style. So, there is a place for such a pillow in the living room, children's bedroom and even in a strict office.

And, thirdly, a knitted pillow does not mean the only way to use it as a product for seating comfort. With its help, you can decorate upholstered furniture and even create a certain style in the interior. The fantasy of the needlewoman, coupled with knowledge of various crochet techniques, will help create pillows of various sizes (from tiny to massive) with all sorts of patterns and reliefs - from simple “bumps” and zigzags to intricate floral lace and even Irish lace.

If you wish, you can knit a variety of pillows, both in shape and in purpose. From under the hook come traditional rectangular pillows for decorating sofas, flat pillows for comfortable sitting on hard chairs, aromatic sachet pillows, wedding ring pillows and even pillows in the form of funny cartoon characters.

Square, round, oval, triangular, cylindrical, star-shaped or heart-shaped - any pillow can be crocheted! At the same time, it is most convenient to knit not the pillow itself (especially if it is openwork), but a cover (pillowcase) for it, which can always be removed and washed without damaging the stuffing material.

Knitting pillows is also a great way to use leftover yarn from previous knitting projects. As a rule, from several colors of yarn (25-100 grams each) you can create a pillow of amazing beauty without spending a penny on its manufacture!

Today's article is devoted to knitting original crochet pillows - classic openwork, in the form of a cylinder with color splashes, as well as an overall flower floor pillow, made in bright colors.

Round openwork pillow with an airy edging

The pillow, made in openwork motifs, will look beautiful in the living room on the sofa, and can also serve as a soft backing for the seat of the chair. To create it, you need to knit an openwork pillowcase according to the scheme and description proposed below, and also sew the round pillow itself from improvised means (unnecessary fabric and filler of synthetic winterizer or holofiber).

To knit a pillowcase for a pillow with a diameter of 35 cm, you need about 100 gr. any yarn (you can take leftovers) and hook number 2.

Knitting pattern:

Knitting a pillowcase consists of two parts: the upper one, made with an openwork motif, and the lower one, knitted with single crochets.

Original cylindrical cushion

At first glance, it may seem that knitting a cylindrical pillow is worth a titanic effort, however, this is not so. You can crochet such a bright beauty in two or three evenings watching TV, try it, you won't regret it!

Cylinder knitting pattern:

Pillow side knitting pattern:

The roller is knitted with contrasting multi-colored yarn, we have taken a thick coal-black thread as a basis, for decoration - bright threads: blue, purple, light green, yellow, pink, orange and red. If the pillow is knitted from thick yarn, you should not worry about the inner pillowcase and the filler is not worth it, a dense knitted fabric will replace such a pillowcase, all that remains is to fill the cylinder with synthetic winterizer and securely sew the edges, or sew in a zipper to facilitate the stuffing process and subsequent washings.

For a pillow-cylinder, it is necessary to tie two side circles and one rectangular canvas.

knitting circle

We collect c. from 4 air. eyelets
Each new row - change the color of the thread according to the scheme.
Row number 1: 3 runways, 11 SSN. SS.
Row number 2: 3 runways, then - in each p. PR - 2 CCH. SS.

Rows No. 5-7: knit according to the scheme.
Row number 8: we knit with s / n columns without increments. SS.

Cylindrical part

With a thread of the main color we collect c. from the desired amount of air. loops, focusing on the length of the future pillow.

The fabric is knitted in b / n columns, with uniform knitting of multi-colored “knobs”. The “bump” is knitted like this: 5 unfinished CCHs are knitted from one p. of the warp, we have 6 loops on the hook, which are knitted into one with a working thread.

The first two rows are knitted in RLS in each stitch of the warp. Each row starts with a runway.
The third row - we knit with the addition of one “knob” between each 5th RLS (choose colors at will or according to the scheme indicated above).
The next three rows are RLS.
The seventh row - with knitting "bumps". We repeat knitting rows until the desired width of the fabric is obtained.

Roller assembly:

We connect the rectangular canvas into a cylinder (from the inside we knit two edges with b / n columns or connection columns). We turn out, attach the sides. On one side of the cylinder we leave a hole for stuffing with filler. We insert a zipper into it or sew it up.

Multicolor Flower Floor Cushion

Pillows are not only sofas, a massive flower pillow, which acts as a mini-chair, is a confirmation of this. Such a gorgeous pillow can be used for decorative purposes, but it is also good as a seat - no one will mind lying on a bright, soft knitted flower!

The diameter of the pillow is as much as 85 centimeters, so it will take a lot of yarn to make it - almost 1 kg of yarn of the main color and 500 grams of threads of contrasting colors. We take hooks at numbers 5 and 9. Do not forget about the filler, it needs at least a kilogram.

Despite the grandeur of the work, it is carried out in columns b / n and s / n. Each new row starts at 1 runway, ends with a connect. column.
Two sides are knitted: back and front.

Knitting back

With a thread of the main color (we have blue), we collect c. from the VP, we connect its SS into a ring, into which we perform 6 tbsp. b/n. We close the first and all subsequent rows with SS.

Row number 4: knit with yellow yarn, 3 runways, 2 tbsp. s / n in the same paragraph, 7 rapports: “3 tbsp. s / n in a column s / n PR, next. we skip the PR column, in the next. p. - 3 tbsp. s / n", 3 tbsp. s / n in the next. column PR, 1 tbsp. s / n skip, total - we get 48 columns in a row.

Pillow assembly.

We sew a knitted flower in the center of the front side. Circular details - in the region of 15-16 rows, in the center of each flower petal.

We connect both parts of the pillow from the wrong side, sew or knit st. b / n (you can also SS). We fill the pillow with filler, sew up the remaining cut for stuffing or insert a zipper into it.
The flower-shaped floor cushion is ready to use!

Pillows connected with openwork squares will decorate your home and add comfort.

Roses in your hands will “bloom” quickly), as they are made of thick yarn with a thick crochet according to a very simple pattern.

Operating procedure:

The final goal of the work is a rectangular pillow with small roses - size 40 x 60 cm. The upper part of the pillowcase consists of 42 fragments, crocheted No. 3 from the remnants of woolen yarn (white, yellow, green, blue and black). For each fragment, 10-15 g of yarn is needed, depending on its quality.

The knitting of the fragment starts from the center, with a chain of 12 air loops. They are closed with a half-column - the 1st circle turned out.

2nd circle - 4 chains of 4 air loops, fixed with half-columns on the ringlet through 2 loops of the chain.

After the 7th round, green leaves are knitted, making 4 double crochet from the top point of the rose petal and 1 air loop between them and 2 single crochet between the petals (lower point). Around the whole circle from the double crochet to the single crochet, 2 air loops are knitted.

9th circle - double crochets of black yarn.

In order for all the fragments to be the same size, the edges of the finished fragment are slightly moistened with cold water and placed on the template. It is done like this: a square of the required size is drawn on a plank and 8 small carnations are driven in at the corners of the square and in the middle of each side. The wet fragment, with a rosette up, is planted on carnations and, after it dries, is removed. Next, use the template for the next fragment.

The finished fragments are interconnected with single crochets of blue yarn: first, in strips of 6 fragments (the short side of the pillowcase) - a total of 7 strips, then they are interconnected.

The lower part of the pillowcase is best made of blue or black woolen fabric. Fill the pillow with filler, and that's it, your work is ready.

Pillow of motifs"clover"

pillow with flowers

Good afternoon dear friends!

I present to you my new pillow of motives. I saw the original idea in my classmates group. That pillow of square motifs was made in white. She is so charming that I certainly wanted to knit.

However, I chose pink yarn, the most suitable for my interior. I have almost all pillows in pink-lilac color.

Just last year, I unraveled one blouse, which became too big, and the yarn rested, waiting for my inspiration and implementation in new ideas.

Crochet a pillow from square motifs

Crochet pillows from square motifs can also be knitted from fine cotton yarn. I somehow knitted, spent a lot of time on it, the result pleased me, but I don’t want to knit for so long anymore.

This time I used semi-woolen yarn of medium thickness (wool mixture, acrylic, polyester). The pillow was knitted in just three days.

I have a hook with the number 2.7.

So, a pillow from crochet motifs is a master class.

Pillow motif knitting

The pillow consists of 18 very simple motifs, the knitting of which we will consider in detail.

We close 5 air loops in a ring.

1st row: 3VP, 15 S1N.

2nd row: 4VP, * 1С1Н, 1VP *.

3rd row: 3VP, 2С1Н under the air loop of the previous row, 1С1Н in the column of the previous row.

4th row: 1 ch, * 10ch, column in the third column of the previous row, 3ch, column in the sixth column of the previous row, 5ch, column in the ninth column of the previous row, 3ch, column in the twelfth column of the previous row *.

5th row: 3VP, 4С1Н under the arch of 10 VP of the previous row, 3VP, 5С1Н under the same arch, column under the arch of 3 air loops, 7С1Н under the arch of 5VP, column under the arch of 3 air loops and so on we tie arches of 10 and 5 air loops.

6th row: 3VP, * 5VP, column under the arch from the VP of the corner of the motif, 3VP, column under the same arch, 5VP, C1H in the connecting column of the previous row, 3VP, column in the column above the arch of the previous row, 3VP, C1H in the connecting column of the previous row *.

7th row: we tie arches of air loops with columns with one crochet, in the corners between the columns there are three air loops.

8th row: we tie the motif with single crochets, in the corners between the columns there are three air loops.

In total, you need to knit 9 motifs for the front side of the pillow and 9 for the wrong side.

How much yarn it took me, it's hard to say, because I used the leftovers.

Connection of motives

We connect the motifs to each other with a crochet with single crochets or connecting ones, introducing a hook under both walls of the loops of motifs.

In order to be able to put a pillow in this pillowcase, I left an unsewn section on the wrong side.

Assembling a pillow from motifs

I sewed the pillow itself from an old raspberry-colored T-shirt, which became too small for me. Against this contrasting background, the pattern of motifs is clearly visible.

I filled the case with holofiber from an old large pillow. (In general, all the work is from improvised materials, which houses were found).
