Step by step production:

  1. You need to practice first to draw the face of a wolf. The volume of the mask will be given by the details of colored paper and the special cut of the mask.
  2. Measure the circumference of the child's head. The width of the mask should be one third of the circumference.
  3. On gray cardboard draw the contours of the mask- nose and cheeks. Draw holes for the eyes. The height of the mask can be half the face or completely cover it.
  4. To add volume make incisions from the middle of the eye to the edge of the mask.
  5. Separately cut out the ears. They should have allowances at the bottom for gluing to the mask. Bend the allowances and make cuts on them so that it is convenient to stick to the base. Make cuts in the middle of the ears and glue their edges so that the ears become voluminous, wrapped inward.
  6. From black paper cut out the crown and edge of the ears. Glue the details.
  7. Cut the ribbon in half. On the sides of the mask, strengthen the place of attachment of the tape with pieces of kraton. After making holes, thread the tape through them, leaving short ends on the front of the mask.
  8. cut out of white paper the lower part of the muzzle of the wolf- eyes and cheeks, stick the details on the base. At the same time, this part of the mask will close the ribbons for the ties.

Step by step production:

  1. On cardboard, draw a circle with a diameter of 16-20 cm - the basis of the mask.
  2. Draw and cut out circles from colored paper. From brown paper, a head, 16-20 cm in diameter, and 2 circles for ears, 4-5 cm in diameter. From yellow / orange paper, a muzzle, 6-7 cm in diameter and 2 circles for inner ears, 3-4 cm in diameter. Stick on details on cardboard. Cut out a nose from black paper. Draw a mouth on the muzzle of light paper.
  3. Glue the ears - place a circle of light paper in the middle of the brown circle. Attach them to the head so that they peek out halfway from the edge.
  4. Cut holes for the eyes.
  5. Attach elastic band. You can make holes and secure the tape with knots, or you can attach it to the mask with a stapler.

Horse mask

For manufacturing, you can use ordinary cardboard, which is then decorated with gouache. Then you need to cut out only the base and ears. For decor, use foam rubber, adding eyebrows and a voluminous nose to the bear.

To make a horse head mask you will need:

Manufacturing:

  1. From cardboard, make the frame of the mask on the head in the shape of a hat. To do this, cut a ribbon 3-4 cm wide from cardboard, equal to the circumference of the child's head. You will also need 4 strips, a length equal to half the volume of the head.
  2. Fasten the long strip with a stapler in the form of a rim. Fasten two short strips crosswise and attach to the rim, creating a frame. From the other two strips, make an oval frame for the horse's muzzle and attach it to the base.
  3. For the horse's neck, cut out a rectangle from cardboard 5-6 cm high, equal to half the circumference of the head. Secure the paper with a stapler on the rim at the back.
  4. Paste over the mask with colored paper, crumpling it a little for convenience. Make holes for the eyes. Secure the paper with glue or a stapler. From white paper, cut a strip along the length from the horse's nose to the withers, glue it.
  5. Cut out the ears from brown paper, passing the allowances for gluing to the head - 4 parts Glue them on the wrong side, fasten them on the crown.
  6. Cut brown paper into thin strips 5-6 cm long and 1 cm wide. This will be the mane. Using scissors, twist the ends of the strips, stick from the crown to the bottom of the neck and make a bang.
  7. From black paper, cut semicircles for the eyes and nose of the horse, glue them. The mask is ready.

Baba Yaga mask (papier-mâché)

An evil character from Russian fairy tales with a hooked nose, how to make this mask more like the original?

For this you will need:

Step by step process:

  1. First you need to make the face of Baba Yaga. To do this, take a plastic mask, newspaper for gluing, PVA glue, water.
  2. Put the first layer on the mask with paper soaked in water, without glue. This is in order to easily remove the resulting mask. Next, you should stick several layers (3-4 layers) of paper soaked in glue. Leave the mask to dry for several hours.
  3. Make the nose and chin of Baba Yaga. To do this, make a plasticine crochet nose, like a mask, paste over with paper and glue, and leave to dry. After drying, cut the nose in half and remove the plasticine. Glue the nose to the face with pieces of paper. Blind a chin from plasticine and also make a part out of paper. Wait for complete drying.
  4. In the mask, cut holes for the eyes, or for the mouth, holes in the nose for breathing. Collect the mask. The nose and chin are attached to the mask with pieces of paper soaked in glue.
  5. To make eyebrows, twist paper twigs, soak them in glue and attach to the face. Make holes for the ties along the edges of the mask. Pass the ribbon from the inside out, tie knots inside.
  6. Decorate the finished mask.

fish mask

It is best to make such a paper mask with your own hands in the form of a crown-hoop on your head.

Work process:

  1. Draw a fish, color it and cut it out.
  2. From paper, make a hoop around the circumference of the head.
  3. Glue the fish in the middle of the hoop.

You can decorate the fish with feathers and foil.

Another way to make a fish mask:

  1. Draw an oval for the shape of the face on white paper. Color it, for example, like a Nemo fish, alternating white and orange stripes with thin stripes of black.
  2. Make holes for the eyes, draw the mouth of the fish.
  3. Glue the fins on the top and sides, make them yellow.
  4. To attach the mask, make a paper hoop and glue it to the mask.

bird mask

For work you will need:

Step by step production:

  1. Fold a sheet of thick paper in half and draw a mask in the form of large glasses. Draw the eyes, and make a recess for the beak. This part of the mask will be attached to the base separately.
  2. Cut out the mask, slits for the eyes.
  3. Make a beak. To do this, measure the distance from the bridge of the nose to the bottom of the mask - this is the width of the beak. Bend the cardboard in half, measure the resulting length from the fold and draw a line from the top to the fold. The result is a detail - a triangle with equal sides. If desired, the beak can be made long or short, slightly curved at the edges. At the base of the beak, leave an allowance of 1-1.5 cm for gluing it to the mask.
  4. Cut the allowance on the beak in several places and bend the cardboard. Cover the beak with yellow paper. For allowances, glue the part to the mask.
  5. Try on a rubber band, cut off the desired length and secure it with a stapler.
  6. Mask decor. To do this, you need to cut feathers from colored paper. Feathers can be in the form of a leaf and a crescent. Bend the leaf-shaped parts in half so that they are more voluminous. Glue the feathers onto the overlap mask. Feathers may protrude beyond the mask borders at the edges.
  7. For the eyes, cut out circles to neatly draw the cutout, stick it on. The mask is ready.
  8. To decorate such a mask, you can use natural feathers, braid for decorating eyes, rhinestones and beads.

goat mask

For such a mask, you need quite a bit:

Step by step mask execution:

  1. Draw a mask according to the size of the face, shaped like an inverted pear. On the top of the mask, make two cuts 2 cm deep. Cut holes for the eyes.
  2. At the bottom of the mask, draw the goat's nose by making incisions.
  3. Glue the cuts at the bottom and top to give volume to the mask.
  4. Cut out the horns and ears, stick them on, make holes for the strings.
  5. Thread the ribbons through the holes, fasten on the reverse side with a knot.

The mask can be decorated or pasted over with colored paper if desired.

Mask - frog

Materials and tools for the frog mask:

Mask making process:

  1. Cut out an oval from cardboard, shaped like a melon. The height of the mask is 15-17 cm, the width will be half the volume of the head.
  2. Make two notches. To do this, draw a line in the middle on the mask. The upper groove from the frog's nose to the edge, about 7 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide, leave allowances for gluing. The lower recess is 1-1.5 cm high and 1 cm wide in the middle of the chin. Draw and cut out holes for the eyes, a mouth for a smile, holes imitating a nose.
  3. Glue the notches.
  4. Paste the mask with paper, draw the details - nose, eyes, eyebrows.
  5. Attach the mask to the hoop with superglue. For strength, you can cut out strips of paper with which to glue the hoop to the mask. The hoop will hold the mask well on the forehead and will not allow it to bend and lose shape as much as when using ties.

When making a mask for a girl or a frog princess mask for decoration, you can use:

  • foil, yellow paper;
  • rhinestones or beads.

Make a small crown out of yellow paper, decorate it with pieces of foil, and beads on the bottom. You can draw red lips.

  2. Cut out a triangle from white paper - the eyes of a spider, stick them on and make a stroke on the eyes with a black felt-tip pen, not forgetting to cut out circles for the eyes. Draw a spider pattern on the mask with a black felt-tip pen.
  3. To make the mask voluminous, make cuts on the mask. Two in the upper part, approximately from the line of the eyebrows to the edge of the mask, and two on the chin. Glue the edges of the cuts.
  4. Attach the elastic to the edges of the mask with a stapler. The super hero mask is ready.

  2. To quickly make a mask, you can use a template or a ready-made pattern. It is only necessary to print the pattern, transfer it to cardboard or thick paper, glue and decorate.
  3. Acrylic paints are best for painting masks. They dry quickly, do not fade over time and do not get dirty. This mask can be used more than once. Gouache is also suitable for these purposes, but this paint gets dirty when exposed to moisture.
  4. On masks made of cardboard or paper, you can not only glue decorations and decor, but also sew on them, as well as glue them with hot glue.

Making any paper mask with your own hands is quite simple. This requires a little imagination, simple materials and desire. Children with great pleasure take part in such workshops, bringing their ideas to the creation of masks for the holiday and inspiring adults to create small pieces of art for the child.

are simply necessary in families where small children grow up. Such masks will come in handy for the New Year, and for a birthday, and for a children's performance.

In the spring of this year, our youngest daughter participated in a children's play. She was a goat. Since the New Year celebrations were behind us, we had a problem with buying a costume. We had to make the costume ourselves. Our daughter is a lover of complete reincarnation, and therefore she needed a goat mask.

Here is the best goat mask we have found. I printed out a picture from a computer, pasted it on cardboard and inserted an elastic band to attach it to my head.

We had cats, and dogs, and bears, and hares, and mice.

The children dressed up in animal masks and put on a fun show.

Our bunny jumped, jumped and gnawed a carrot 🙂

The dog barked and searched for hidden treasures.

The mouse ate cheese and crackers and teased the cat.

The cat tried to make friends with the mouse.

The bear cub climbed the rope like a tree, getting "honey" from the beehive.

Regarding this mask, neither children nor adults came to a common opinion. For some it was a mask of a cat, for someone a cougar, a tiger. And one girl saw a fox in this mask 🙂

Some of the masks were taken away by the guests, and some remained at our house. And periodically, the daughter puts on herself mask some animal and gives us a home show.

In the life of every child there are holidays and fun events. To stand out from the rest, it is worth considering a festive outfit. Having made for children, you can get an original and unusual costume. It remains to add details to complete the image and you can go to the party. Consider how to make masks correctly.

Superheroes

Well, which of the boys in childhood did not dream of being a superhero? Almost everyone, but did everyone have such an opportunity? A superhero mask for a child is very easy to make. You will need white or colored cardboard, scissors, paints, felt-tip pens and an elastic band. Mark the future workpiece with a pencil and cut it out. After that, proceed to decorate the base, paint with paints of the desired color and add details. Look at the photo. This is what a superhero child's mask might look like.

Some of them are monophonic, it is easier to cut them out of colored cardboard. You can paint with paints, it is better to draw fine details with a felt-tip pen. It is useful to involve children in this process, it will be very entertaining for them. After completing the design, you need to thread an elastic band into the workpiece to fix it on your head. In such a bright original mask, the child will feel confident, especially if the rest of the costume elements are finalized.

Carnival

For children, they will become an indispensable addition to the image. In such a costume, you can perform at a matinee in kindergarten or at another solemn event. Everything you need for a carnival accessory can be found in any home. So, let's get started, cut out a shape with holes for the eyes from cardboard. You can draw the shape arbitrarily by hand or using a stencil. In order for the masks for children to be festive, you need to decorate them beautifully. To do this, you can use everything that is at home: sequins, rhinestones, beads, rain, feathers and more. An example of such decorations can be seen in the photo.

You see that the brighter and more colorful, the more beautiful it turns out. You can use felt for the base, it is denser, and it will also keep its shape better. It is better to fasten all jewelry on a hot one. To fix it on the head, you can use an elastic band or stick a stick holder on the side.

Non-standard solution

Now you will learn for children from improvised means. For example, a paper plate option. Materials required:

  • plate;
  • paints;
  • markers;
  • scissors;
  • colored cardboard or stickers;
  • rubber.

One plate will make two masks, because it is cut in half. Then you need to decide on a theme and start decorating. To make it clearer, you can start from the examples shown in the picture below.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated in this process. If you decide to make an image of an animal, then just glue the ears, nose, antennae and the mask is ready. To attach the base, use an elastic band, a stick (as in the picture). If you use a colored plate, then there is no need to paint it, and if the plate is white, you will have to paint it. You can involve kids in this process so that everyone is satisfied.

soft animals

An excellent material as the basis for an animal mask for children can be felt. This is a soft, dense and natural material that can be found on the shelves of needlework stores. The advantages of felt are its elasticity and the ability to easily cut with scissors. Animals are made very well from felt because of the bright colors of the material.

Additional parts are attached to the base with superglue. Due to this, the mask for the child will seem voluminous. To make a reliable fastening to the head, it is better to use a thin elastic band. You can complement the image with a felt ponytail and gloves, the baby will definitely not go unnoticed.

Sewn masks

For children, they can become even more interesting and voluminous. The most successful choice would be images of animals. Decide on the image and prepare the necessary materials:

  • textile;
  • scissors;
  • synthetic winterizer or cotton wool;
  • beads;
  • fishing line.

Start by making the base. To do this, draw the desired shape on the fabric, cut and sew, leaving holes for the eyes and filler. It is better to sew on the wrong side. After that, you need to turn out the base, fill it with padding polyester or cotton wool through the hole. After that, you can begin to manufacture additional parts. It can be ears, nose, eyes. Prepare each part separately, then you need to fill the workpiece with padding polyester. At the final stage, you need to sew all the details of the future animal with neat stitches. To make the child's mask fit snugly to the face, use a tight elastic band.

Cardboard masks

As you can see, the material for manufacturing can be varied. Some of them are at hand, but often underestimated. You can make not only masks for children from paper, but also from cardboard. This refers to the thick cardboard from which the boxes are made. Everyone in the house will surely have a cardboard box from under household appliances. That's exactly what you need to create the base. Brown cardboard is good because it does not need to be painted, so it is great for the faces of a variety of animals. Here, for example, the muzzle of a dog made of cardboard.

Additional details must be attached to such cardboard bases; in the case of a dog's muzzle, a nose, ears, and eyebrows will be required. You can use pieces of foam rubber, cotton wool or other bulk material. If you draw well, you can mark the missing details with a black marker: mustache, nose, facial lines. You will also need to fasten the fixing elastic band, too thin will not work for this mask. So that the gum itself is tightly connected to the cardboard and does not tear the base, you need to know one trick. Pass one end of the elastic through the hole and tie a piece of foam. Do the same on the other side, the muzzle is ready.

Complementing the image

The mask is only one of the elements of the children's costume. To complete the look harmoniously, you can decorate clothes or match them to match. It is worth taking into account the specifics of the image, supplementing it with the necessary paraphernalia. For example, to the muzzle of a dog, you need to sew a tail on the pants and put on mittens-paws. For carnival, you need to decorate a dress or costume with sequins. But you can do without it. Just pick up solid clothes to match the color of the base or its individual elements. A beautiful costume for a child for a holiday does not have to be expensive at all, original and thoughtful details are enough.
