This time we are figuring out what to do with down jackets: it’s not at all easy to create images with them that are more decent than “I’m not far from the store here” (even though designers have shown an unprecedented interest in down jackets this season - especially in huge sizes) . We have collected 10 sets with warm jackets that will rehabilitate this piece of winter wardrobe. We prove that you can wear down jackets with anything, the main thing is to follow a few simple rules.
Medium down jacket

A white down jacket is not the most practical thing, but sometimes you can sacrifice utility (especially since the heat-insulating properties do not depend on color). In this particular case, the down jacket, in fact, simply replaces the more familiar classic-length coat. Therefore, there is no need to dress in sports casual from head to toe: try to wear such a jacket with a body-friendly knitted dress, warm boots with thick soles and, of course, tights (in this case, it is better to choose brown or gray). With a beige-milk set, hats of any rich natural colors look good, but we especially like the accent of the marsala shade - this, by the way, is the main color of the outgoing year according to Pantone.

Just in case, let us once again remind you about tights and about the harsh reality in which it is impossible to exist in a down jacket without a scarf or a sweater with a high neck. It is better, of course, to choose both at once and add mittens - they say that winter this year will be cold.
Coat over a down jacket and a summer dress
Firstly, layering is our best friend for those six months that winter lasts in Russia. Secondly, a voluminous coat worn over a down jacket looks more unusual than these two things separately. And in general, it is sometimes useful to remember that under outerwear you can wear not only weightless Uniqlo jackets. The main advantage of the look, obviously, is that it is very warm and you can wear the lightest, even summer, dress under it. And although a romantic dress with rough boots is almost a common place, this combination still works. Especially in winter, when no one really expects to see him. At the same time, the bag does not have to be fur - on the contrary, it seems to us that it is better to focus on the most concise model without any catchy details.
Short down jacket with printed trousers
The key advantage of this set is not at all that Humberto Leon and Carol Lim came up with the idea to wear a jacket over trousers with a skirt, but that the duo from Kenzo reminded us how many cool things with print exist, and put them away in the far corner of the closet on all winter there is no reason. Try to take the base from here and discard everything superfluous: a short oversized down jacket with laconic boots with a medium steady heel and trousers with a monochrome print - it's really very beautiful. You can support the combination with a sports black and white backpack with an alphabetic pattern, and replace the hat with a slightly brighter bandage. Such a kit will not protect you from forty-degree frost, but you can walk in it right now.

From season to season, the Moncler team works competently not only in the marketing but also in the stylistic sense, so the Gamme Rouge shows and the lookbooks of the other lines of the brand can be safely used as winter cheat sheets. This year, this approach has suddenly also become a patriotic act: designer Erdem Moralioglu, who created the collection for the Moncler E fashion line, was inspired by the aesthetic heritage of the Romanov dynasty and the Soviet sixties. The result turned out to be really royal, but we liked the simplest and most effective look - a tight short skirt-sun, the hem of which peeks out from under a medium-length down jacket, and jockey boots. Under the down jacket, you can wear a shirt of any degree of romance and a sweater, and when the thermometer finally collapses down, we advise you to remember a hat and, possibly, thermal underwear. Warm tights are the default.
Oversized down jacket with flared trousers
Let's not dissemble and immediately voice the main disadvantage of this image: flared trousers to the floor require high-heeled shoes (or high growth), as well as dry weather. But if you find at least a jacket close to the ideal and comfortable boots with stable heels, you will get one of the most beautiful winter looks you can imagine, and the cons will self-destruct. Such sets are great to stretch the silhouette and look both simple (for work or study) and solemn (say, it’s also suitable for the road to the theater). Optionally, you can complement the image with a bright hat and funny mittens to make it fun.

Winter is not a reason to deny yourself dresses and short skirts. An elegant dress for the New Year can be worn with your favorite long down jacket in a bright color.
