Crafts from corrugated paper trimming. Corrugated paper trimming: process description and original ideas

Today I will open for you one of the simplest and at the same time original and unique decoration technique - facing. It sounds, of course, rude, but in practice the result will amaze you and those around you. You can trim with children from 5 years old. Now it is fashionable to create figures and art objects for the holidays with your own hands, to make original photo props for photo sessions, to decorate the room yourself, the described technique will come in handy everywhere.

We will need:
- Corrugated or thin colored paper;
- Scissors;
- PVA glue or "Dragon" for art objects;
- Old felt-tip pens or pens according to the number of assistants;
- Semi-cardboard or cardboard for the base;
- For topiary, alabaster and a disposable glass;

Foundation preparation. First of all, we decide what we will produce. For a large figure, you will need an old box (for example, from under the TV). We draw a number template on it (in our case, “2”), cut it out. When it comes to postcards. We take a semi-cardboard, draw a pattern that we will decorate with a trim (in our case, the number "8"). For a topiary, take a ball from a children's dry pool or cut out a shape from cardboard, such as a heart. Two such bases are required. Glue them together by first inserting a stick-stalk between the forms. Then place the stem in a glass and pour alabaster diluted to the consistency of thick sour cream. Wait for it to harden. If the surface will be decorated with different colors, then we mark in advance where which color to use, and separate the border. Stripes, like on a two or a heart, like on, there is no limit to the imagination.
What to do with paper? Cut colored paper into squares. The size depends on the size of the structure, for the figure we take squares 5 * 5 cm, for the topiary 2 * 2 cm, but not less than 1 * 1 cm.
Trimming technique. Take a marker and a piece of paper. We wrap the upper part of the rod with a paper square and, holding it with our fingers, dip it into the glue. Then we firmly press it to the base, wait a few seconds and remove the rod. The square should remain glued and fluffy, like a flower.

If you use too thick paper, it will not be saturated enough for gluing. We repeat all the steps, and glue the next piece close to the previous one, slightly moving the ends of the “flower”. Glue the edges of volumetric figures with a separate row of squares so that the joints of the glued bases are not visible.

Painstaking work. Of course, the larger the figure, the longer you have to sweat. It is very important to note and tell you, dear needleworkers, that objects made using this technique cannot be wrinkled, because. the paper will lose its fluffiness. But you will save and remember a picture or craft, bright, author's, created together with the children. In addition, it is easy to restore if necessary, simply by replacing the affected fragments.

This is a fairly new paper craft technique. But even despite its young age, this technique already has a lot of fans. But paper crafts made using this technique turn out to be very beautiful and unusual. The Land of the Soviets invites you to find a new hobby for yourself - paper trimming.

The cutting technique is very simple: the prepared template is glued with special paper. You can take different templates: these can be small blanks in the form of hearts (such a craft can be presented to your loved one), snowflakes, flowers. But also the paper trimming technique makes it possible to perform large multi-colored paintings.

Also using paper trimming, you can make various decorative elements. So, you can frame small cross-stitched or satin-stitched pictures in decorated with trimming frames. And to make the frame look very gentle and neat, you can additionally decorate it by gluing small beads, flowers or beads to it.

For trimming paper, use corrugated paper or napkins. On the one hand, trimming corrugated paper may seem more difficult just because such material is more difficult to work with. But on the other hand, trimming from napkins has its drawbacks. So, sometimes it is very difficult to find plain napkins of different colors, and they are more expensive than corrugated paper.

To make paintings using the trimming technique, you will need certain materials: paper, cardboard, scissors, glue and a small thin stick. Some people like to trim paper with a bamboo stick (kebab skewer), which has a thin tip on one end, and a flat, blunt part on the other side. The thin tip is good for touching up paper. But with a thick tip it is good to trim the paper. But you can also trim paper with a pencil, knitting needle, the blunt end of a crochet hook, a pen rod, etc. Remember, the thicker your paper trim base, the rougher your work will look.

From a fairly thick cardboard cut out a shape for trimming. It is also necessary to take into account that for the base they take cardboard of the same color as the paper for trimming. Thus, if you have a cardboard base showing through the paper, it will not stand out in a different color. If you are thinking of making a two-color shape, such as a red heart with white wings, cut out two templates from cardboard. The main template will be a red heart, which is made without wings. But from white cardboard, you should already cut out a heart with wings. In this case, the size of the white heart should be slightly smaller than the red one. A red blank is glued on top of a white heart. And already on the finished template, you can do the trimming of paper.

Of course, you can get by with one piece of white cardboard, but then the template will have to be pre-painted in the color you need. Similarly, they do with large-sized paintings, which require paper of various colors. On the workpiece, the borders of one or another element are preliminarily drawn and painted over in suitable colors. And only after the paint has completely dried, you can start trimming the paper.

How exactly is paper trimming done? To begin with, corrugated paper or napkins are cut into small squares. The size of the squares will vary depending on the thickness of your trimming stick. The thicker the stick, the larger the square. Accordingly, the larger the square, the rougher your craft will look.

Take one square of paper and put it on your finger. Attach a stick for trimming (pencil, pen rod or knitting needle) to the center of the square and wrap paper around it. Be careful not to damage the paper. Spread a small part of the surface with glue and apply your stick to it with a square of paper wound at the end. When you remove the stick, the paper will remain on the template. If the glued square has moved a little, you can immediately correct it with the other thin end of the bamboo stick. In this way, continue trimming until the entire template is covered with paper. The finished product is allowed to dry thoroughly, after which it can be hung on the wall or decorated with your other works.

Paper trimming is so easy to do that even kids can do it. Try and you can do a few crafts using this technique.

Volumetric application technique (this method of making volumetric paintings on paper is also called trimming) is one of the most popular types of paper crafts. The working technique is very simple. Such applications can be performed even by young children under the guidance of a kindergarten teacher. On the Internet you can find a variety of master classes that teach this application technique.

Despite the relative simplicity of this technique of working with paper, here, as in any other type of needlework, there are subtleties. In order to visually see the work process in detail, it is recommended to first watch the video of the master class or attend the training master class in person. Of course, no one will offer novice creators to immediately take on products of the highest class of complexity. Usually beginners start with floral motifs, such as cactus or poppies. The easiest way to make a cactus.

To perform any work in the trimming technique (cactus, other flowers, landscapes) you will need:

Corrugated paper trimming technique: master class

In order to master the technique of working with corrugated paper as best as possible, you just need a little attention and patience. And soon the novice master will turn into an experienced specialist and will be able to give master classes to those who wish to master this art. In the technique of facing, they look very impressive compositions with plant motifs: cacti, daisies, poppies, it all depends on the author's imagination.

Having decided on the color of the main details of the work and the color of the background, it is necessary to prepare blanks for work. The facing technique initially involves working with small details, so patience and perseverance cannot be dispensed with here. But the result will meet all expectations!

To make preparations you need to cut corrugated paper in the form of identical squares. Then you need to arrange the squares of different colors in piles and proceed to the actual trimming. Before that, it is recommended to watch a master class in order to master the art of working with a trimmer.

If you decide to make a chamomile, poppy or cactus, trimming is the process of twisting blanks into small tight tubes, which then need to be evenly distributed over the finished template and glued, filling the drawn contour. The result should be a three-dimensional picture. It can be a whole picture or a single corrugated paper cactus, the main thing is that the work is done carefully, and then the effect is guaranteed.

Corrugated paper trimming: pictures

In order to make a multi-color corrugated paper composition, it is necessary to clearly think of a color scheme. For beginner craftswomen, it is best to sketch a preliminary sketch with colored pencils or felt-tip pens. Attention: the more colors and shades of corrugated paper are used in the work, the more laborious the implementation will be. But the picture will look spectacular. Nevertheless, paintings of two or four colors also look very picturesque, the main thing is to choose the right plot. Attention: if the picture is multicolor, it is recommended to make the frame monophonic, and vice versa.

Description of the technique of "Cutting".

Facing- this is one of the types of productive activities - the technique of making volumetric paper crafts. This is a type of paper design - the art of paper rolling, in which, by gluing twisted pieces of paper - tubes - ends onto a template or base, voluminous terry compositions are created: paintings, panels, mosaics, postcards, etc.

There are two types of trimming:

On paper (trimming is glued to paper - the base);

On plasticine (the base of plasticine is laid out with trimming).

Facing on paper happens:

❀ planar (trimmings are located tightly to each other over the entire surface of the pattern);

❀ three-dimensional (trimmings are glued at different angles to the surface of the sheet, which allows you to create a three-dimensional image;

❀ multilayer (trimming is glued into each other in layers, one inside the other).

Trimming on plasticine happens:

❀ contour (trimming is laid out along the contour of the image without filling the internal space);

❀ planar (trimmings are located tightly to each other over the entire surface of the workpiece);

❀ three-dimensional (trimmings are glued at different angles to the surface of the sheet, which allows you to create a three-dimensional image.

❀ An image covered with plasticine or a three-dimensional figure made of plasticine is taken as the basis for trimming on plasticine.

For the manufacture of crafts using the facing technique, the following equipment is required:

❖ Crepe (corrugated paper) or napkins

❖ Plasticine or PVA glue (it is possible to use a glue stick)

❖ Scissors

❖ Paper blank storage container

❖ Ballpoint or gel pen refills, or cotton swabs, or brushes with a blunt end

The basis: velvet paper, cardboard, three-dimensional forms, foam plastic, thick paper, plasticine form, etc.

Stages of work:

❖ cut out a small square from corrugated colored paper, ranging in size from 1 - 1.5 cm

❖ put a rod in the middle of the square (for example, an unsharpened pencil) and tightly twist the paper around the rod. It turns out a tube - end face.

❖ The resulting small trim, without removing it from the rod, is glued to the workpiece and only then the rod is removed.

Each next trimming is glued next to the previous one tightly to each other so that there are no gaps. The work is ready.

The works made using the facing technique are unusually beautiful, voluminous and very popular with children and their parents.

Some of us, having heard the name of this type of creativity for the first time, ask ourselves: what is facing? There is nothing complicated behind this name. This is a paper technique that combines both appliqué and quilling. This method is so easy to master that even kids in kindergarten can easily learn this type of creativity from the first time.

Before starting work in the trimming technique, you need to decide on a pattern, according to which work will be created from trimming in the future. For those who are just starting out, these schemes are perfect:

Such pictures can be used for classes with the baby.

In general, almost any drawing is suitable as a scheme for trimming. The main point you need to know is that the simpler the drawing, the larger the dimensions of the blanks for trimming can be. And vice versa, the more complex the scheme and the more small details it contains, the smaller the squares of paper or napkins should be. Another important point is that when working with napkins, the thickness of one square should be 2-3 layers, since the paper will tear in one layer and nothing will come out.

Thanks to such a technique as facing, very unusual things are obtained: topiaries, voluminous crafts, and, of course, paintings.

Facing from napkins: making a Valentine

This original gift cannot fail to please the one who receives it. A simple technique of work will make it possible for anyone to create such a valentine on their own.

Work materials

  • A ready-made valentine's card.
  • Three-layer napkins, with the help of which trimming will be obtained.
  • Template cardboard.
  • Scissors.
  • Rod from a pen.
  • Plasticine

First, let's start drawing a template. To do this, take a ready-made postcard, attach it to the cardboard and circle it.

Now cut out the resulting shape, and bend.

In the middle, write your wish or confession.

Take white plasticine and apply a thin layer on the front side of the postcard.

Now let's proceed directly to trimming. Take a napkin and divide it into three layers.

Since the valentine is small, the size of the cut squares should be 1x1.

If you do not want to make a one-color card, then the heart can be divided into color zones with a pen.

We begin to make trimming, as shown in the photo.

Without removing a piece of napkin from the rod, we press it in the place where the given color is marked on the plasticine.

Trimming should be very close to each other, so that there are no gaps, then the work will look much better.

Well, the valentine is ready, and now you know how to do such things easily and simply. The technique of trimming paper napkins is practically no different from the technique of working with corrugated paper, so the source material can be easily changed to your taste. Good luck and new achievements!
