There is a fabric that has already turned out to be skewed, it is also cut in one layer. In this case, it is necessary to make mirror parts of the pattern and glue them. And then lay them out on the fabric in one layer, following the same rules for cutting the cage as with the folded fabric.

Step 2

Before laying out the details of the pattern on the fabric, be sure to check if your cage is uniform in length! If the cell is asymmetrical along the length of the piece, then you will have to lay all details patterns bottom to one side! The same rule applies when cutting fabrics with pile, sheen and fleece.

Step 3

There are fabrics not in a cage, but with an insidious pattern, which has a so-called hidden cage (stripe). These are fabrics with a pattern of glenchik, chicken and goose foot.

Despite the small pattern, the pattern has rows both along and across. This row needs to be customized, like a cage.

Here is another example of a hidden check in a geometric pattern that needs tweaking.

Even when choosing floral patterns, pay attention to the row pattern. In a piece of fabric, this is not evident. And in the seams of the skirt, the mismatch of the rows of the pattern can be very noticeable.

We lay out the patterns on the fabric.

Let's start with a simple one - we cut a skirt made of fabric in a cage.

First of all, we always lay the part with a fold.

The bottom of the skirt is not always perfectly even, so it is better to put the pattern so that the bottom is between the rows of the cage. Then a slight change in the bottom of the skirt in height will not affect the pattern of the cage. The cell will not appear, then disappear along the bottom.

Next, we put the part that will be connected to the first. The bottom of the side of the first and second parts must match. Not the entire bottom of the skirt, namely at the point of the seam! So in turn we lay all the details of the skirt. Combining them sequentially at the points of the bottom of the alignment seam. I have only two parts, and therefore the combination of one side seam.

If the cage is large, then the middle seam of the skirt should also be placed in the middle of the cage! This is important, otherwise there will be a pile of cages in the back in the seam.

A sleeveless dress is cut according to the same principle.

If the cage goes oblique, then it should also match in the seams. For example, a flared skirt. In this case, its fit also goes from bottom to top along the seams.

Step 5

We complicate the task. We cut a sleeveless dress from fabric in a cage, but with a detachable waist.

When cutting the bodice, we focus on the skirt. First we lay the part of the front with a fold.
Then we alternately lay the details of the barrel front, back and the very back of the bodice. In the photo, the bottom of the parts is laid out in one line at point 1.

Point 2 - we lay the seam of the back of the bodice exactly along the same line in the middle of the cage as the seam of the skirt.

Point 3 - we move the details of the barrels to the sides along the lower cage so that they coincide on the sides with the cage on the sides of the skirt.

In this case, the cage on the bodice and skirt will match perfectly.

But you can lay out the details of the barrels obliquely, the dress will be more decorative. In the reliefs, the cage does not require alignment, but in the side seam, the side of the front and back should match. To do this, the bottom of the side seam of both parts must be placed on one cell.

Step 6

We cut trousers from fabric in a cage.

As in a skirt, we lay the bottom of the side seams of the trousers one by one. The middle of the trousers should also be placed one by one. Equal parts of all parts are always parallel to the cell!

In a large cage, one very important nuance should be taken into account. The middle seam of the front and back halves should be placed in the middle of the cage.

In this case, the cage in the seam will not be disturbed in width in front and behind, then there will be no piling up of cage lines in the seam. This is clearly seen in an example.

Step 7

We cut a shirt (blouse) with a sleeve made of fabric in a cage.

Point 1 - we combine the details of the shelf and back not along the bottom, but along the side seams from the bottom.

Point 2 - combine the yoke with the back from the armhole. This will help to match the cage even if there is a crease in the back.

Point 3 - move the shelf to the same cell from which the yoke seam begins (if there is no yoke, then we also combine the cells in the shoulder seam). This will allow the pattern of the cage to match not only horizontally, but also vertically in the shoulder seams and yoke seams.

You can put a yoke for decorative purposes on an oblique. This will eliminate the combination of the cage at the shelf and back and highlight the yoke.

Point 4 - we lay the sleeve pattern so that the cells in the mark area on the armhole and along the front of the sleeve coincide. This will allow the plaid to match up the sleeve at the front almost to the shoulder. In the shoulder area, the cage can no longer match, because there is a rounding.

Step 8

The option is more difficult. Jacket with a long two-seam sleeve. The photo clearly shows the combination of the cage on the sleeve and the shelf.

Point 1 - very important! If there is a middle seam along the back, then it must be placed between the cells.

Then the seam will look like this - the cell either converges or diverges along the seam. If you make a seam along the cage, then after stitching the cage will either disappear or appear in the area of the shoulder blades and below the waist, and this is not very beautiful.

Point 2 - lay the details of the bodice one by one, aligning them with the cage at the bottom of the seams. If there is a chest tuck, then the cage coincides in the seam from the bottom up only to the tuck!

Point 3 - we move the detail of the shelf horizontally until the cells from the edge of the shoulder seam, at the armhole, match. The detail of the back on the shoulder is a little wider and when the shoulder of the back is planted, the cage can go astray to the neck. But this failure will close the collar. But in the most prominent place at the shoulder, the cell will be combined.

Point 4 - with the second row we lay the upper part of the sleeve so that the cage at the shoulder mark and the armhole of the shelf coincide.

Point 5 - now we lay the lower (elbow) part of the sleeve so that the cage matches the seam from below.

Point 6 - it remains to lay the edge so that the cage coincides at the bottom and at the shelf and at the edge. Pay attention to the lapel angle! The cell must match in it.

One important point. It is necessary to check the cage along the elbow seam. Lay the elbow part of the sleeve so that the cage in the elbow seam is not vertically duplicated, that is, it is undesirable for it to fall into the seam. It is better to put the elbow seam between the cages or next to it.

The collar must be attached to the lapel and draw the markings of the cage on it, only then cut it out.

But it is better to cut out small details in a cage after the first fitting, after fitting the product according to the figure and clarifying the location of the pockets (leaflet and valves).

To do this, you need to pin the tracing paper parts onto the product on yourself, then draw a cage pattern on them, and only then cut them out of the fabric.

So, the cell should match:

In all seams horizontally, like hoops on a barrel.
In the shoulder seams along the vertical, starting from the armhole.
In all horizontal seams (at the waist, along undercuts and coquettes).
The sleeves line up with the fronts at the notch and go up to the shoulder.
If the sleeve is double-seam, then the cage must also match in the seam of the sleeve.
At the collar and lapel.
For all small parts with details of the product - for patch pockets, for leaflets and for valves. Unless they are deliberately cut out not along the share, but along the oblique.
