Of course, you can take any colors of ribbons and get a unique author's product that emphasizes your style and originality.

What to get out of the box

To create a fashionable jewelry, prepare:

  • white satin ribbon in three sizes (5 cm wide, 4 cm and 0.6 cm wide);
  • black tape in two sizes (5 cm and 0.6 cm);
  • silver brocade (4 cm);
  • a metal hug with rays and a mother-of-pearl half-bead;
  • white felt;
  • tools for work (glue gun, sharp scissors, lighter, ruler);
  • ordinary plastic hairband (decoration object).

Satin ribbons are inexpensive, so the cost of the accessory will cost a penny.

Stages of making a hair hoop

To create a hoop with kanzashi flowers, you should practice doing the classic elements of this needlework. In this master class, triple and single petals will be used.

To create triple pieces, cut 24 squares each from black, white and silver brocade with a side of 5 cm. In this case, use the widest white and black ribbon. For beginners, we recommend taking a closer look in our other article.

To make a sharp petal, bend three multi-colored squares diagonally, then bend the resulting triangles again in height.

Make a pyramid of three parts. Place a silver triangle on a black triangle, then a white one. Move each subsequent triangle down by 1 mm.

In the resulting design, glue the corners adjacent to the base. Use your thumb and forefinger to close the corners, after dripping glue.

Give the petal a flatter shape by cutting off 3-4 mm of fabric from the bottom. Burn the protruding threads with a flame.

Make 24 triple petals. 8 of them will be used to create the lower tier of the kanzashi flower for the hoop.

To create the top white tier, prepare 8 squares of white ribbon with a side of 4 cm. In this case, you will need a 4 cm wide satin ribbon.

Follow the same procedure to form a sharp white petal, but single. Make two folds until you get a small triangle.

Glue the corners adjacent to the base.

Create 8 white pieces.

Glue the white flower to the top tier of the kanzashi-style ribbon hairband.

Create a flower with eight triple petals - the bottom tier.

Cut 2 m lengths from the thinnest white and black ribbon. Form small loops at the ends of each segment.

Thread the white ribbon through the black loop and pull through.

Gather the black ribbon around the loop where the two colors are attached and thread through the loose white loop.

Create a black and white pigtail long enough to decorate the headband.

Trim the edge, burn. Glue the checkered ribbon to the headband.

Glue a hugger and a half-bead to the previously prepared white flower.

Glue a small flower onto a large one. The petals of the lower layer should be visible between the petals of the upper one.

On the reverse side of the almost finished kanzashi-style hoop, glue a felt circle with a diameter of 2.5 cm.

Assemble 8 triple petals into an elongated design. Glue on one side of the flower.

Add a symmetrical composition from the opposite side.

Glue the resulting decoration to the hoop.

So you made an elegant kanzashi hoop with your own hands. Now you donโ€™t need to think about what hairstyle to make for your daughter, sister or yourself. It is enough to wind curls and crown your head with this wonderful decoration.

A master class on creating a beautiful headband was prepared by the needlewoman Natalya, especially for the online magazine Women's Hobbies.

A bit of history.

Approximately 400 years ago, the style of women's hairstyles changed in Japan: women began to style their hair in intricate shapes, and for fixing they used combs and hairpins (kanzashi) with decorations made of ribbons, beads, etc. Now this is an art. According to kanzashi, they even determined the status of a woman, her class. Women all over the world also make kanzashi. It is even believed that if you wear kanzashi, evil spirits are driven away. Kanzashi is worn by brides, people involved in tea ceremonies, and young women who want to add elegance to their business attire.

Kanzashi is a very popular technology for making various jewelry and accessories that are ideal for both an adult woman and a young lady.

With the help of kanzashi, you can make your image unique and memorable. In addition, this technique is quite understandable to all ages. In an article with a photo, we will talk about how to make kanzashi hoops on our own using this technology.

Weaving methods and necessary materials

There are several ways to weave a hoop, we will conduct a master class on 2 main ones. The first way is a little harder, the second way is easier. Both hoops are very lively and eye-catching.

Method number 1. Create a kanzashi hoop: master class

Required materials for manufacturing:

  1. Solid headband (choose the width according to the type of face and head shape).
  2. Ribbons of different colors up to 0.6 cm wide. Red, blue, lilac look the most harmonious, harmonizing with each other.
  3. Glue "Moment".
  4. Scissors.

We start by sealing the edges of the rim, on which the teeth are located. For this purpose, choose the darkest shade of tape. When the edges are glued, attach the edge of the red tape to the inside, do not forget to leave a small tail about 2-3 cm, with which the weaving will be fixed. Attach blue on top of red, they should be glued crosswise. With the rest of the tail of the red ribbon, wrap the edge of the rim and fix it with glue.

Now we are weaving, trying to lay the tapes with maximum density, because the weaving will hold without the use of glue. We alternately wrap the rim first with red, then with blue ribbons, laying them under each other: we pull the edge of the red one from under the edge of the blue one. When you have finished weaving, cut off the edges of the ribbons, leaving the tips that need to be fixed with glue. It turns out a hoop in kanzashi technology, braided obliquely.

Method number 2

Kanzashi headband - a great accessory at a low price

To make the rim in the second way, you will need the same set of materials that we used in the first version. Choose contrasting colors: green and red, lilac and yellow, for example. First, fasten the first tape in the same way as in method No. 1. After that, we wrap the edge of the second tape twice with the edge of the fixed tape and bring them to the outside of the hoop.

We stretch the tapes (you can fix it with your finger) and tightly wrap the rim. When the rim is wrapped, fix the edges. The colors go one after another, and the rim turns out to be a very bright, summer decoration.

It is perfect as a selfie accessory. Your photos will be simply beautiful, and you will be the most stylish.

The cost of such a hoop is minimal, much cheaper than an accessory purchased in a company store. Time to work - half an hour.

The kanzashi technique is similar to traditional origami, only here fabric, ribbons, and lace are used instead of paper. In classic kanzashi, it is customary to use silk and silk ribbons. Kanzashi products do not go out of fashion: flowers, compositions, hairpins, pendants and jewelry. At the heart of these decorations is such a simple technique as folding (tsumami).

Our task today is to learn how to make a kanzashi rim with our own hands. In the beginning, we will learn how to braid the rim with ribbons, there will be 3 types of braiding work in total - from simple to complex. And at the end we will learn how to make a beautiful kanzashi rose.

The easiest and simplest way to braid the rim is with 1 ribbon. We take the tape depending on the width of the rim: the wider the rim, the wider the tape.

For work you will need:

  1. Bezel 2 cm wide.
  2. Ribbon, the width of which is 1.2 cm and the length is 1.5 m.
  3. Glue gun, Moment glue, double-sided tape - any of your choice.
  4. Clothespins.

Put a drop of glue on the end of the tape, press the tape to the rim. Gently pass the glue along the outer surface of the rim. Next - I wrap the bezel with tape at an angle, trying not to "climb" to the previous moment.

At the end of the rim, carefully glue the tape inward. Cut off the end. After the tape is wound on the rim, we press it on top with a clothespin, and leave it in this form for 1 hour. Then we remove the clothespins. Thus, you can braid the bezel on September 1 and for any holiday. There are a lot of options for further decoration of the kanzashi rim. You just need to choose ribbons that match the color, lace, felt, organza, beads, and so on. And choose 1 or more kinds of flowers.

Braiding method number 2

We need to decorate the rim with a silk or rep ribbon, and then make a flower or flowers for it. The easiest way to braid a kanzashi-style headband is with double-sided tape. The ribbon for decor should be the same size as the rim. We will make out only the outer side of the rim, so as not to remove the inner spikes.

For work you need:

  1. The hoop is thin, plastic or iron.
  2. Ribbon.
  3. The adhesive tape is double-sided.
  4. Lighter or matches.
  5. Scissors.

We measure the width of the rim with a ruler: the width of the adhesive tape should not be greater than the width of the rim. We cut off a small - 1.5 cm piece of adhesive tape, remove the film and stick it on the ends of the rim from the outside. We press and smooth the adhesive tape, we look so that there are no creases.

It remains only to put the ribbon on the adhesive tape and burn the ends of the ribbon at both ends of the rim. If desired, you can decorate the headband with flowers or beads.

Braiding method number 3

Next, we will braid the rim with two ribbons. This is also a simple and quick way to braid with ribbons. Despite the fact that there are many master classes on this topic on the network, it is often not possible to really understand the weaving pattern itself. We hope that our master class is more understandable. We take a narrow metal hoop 0.5 cm wide.

For work you will need:

  1. Metal bezel 0.5 cm wide.
  2. Ribbon of any color, 0.6 cm wide, 1.5 m long.
  3. Glue gun or glue Moment.
  4. Lighter.
  5. Scissors.

Cut off 2 small (1 / 1.5 cm) pieces of tape and glue the edges of the rim with them. We level with a lighter and glue the edges. We process the other end of the rim in the same way. Fold the remaining tape in half.

We clamp the edge of the tape with tweezers or scissors and singe with a lighter at an angle. We look at the photo: this triangle must be removed with a lighter.

We fix the tape with glue on the rim. We got it like this: 2 tapes lie on top of each other. We take the bottom tape and direct it under the top one. The top tape goes behind the rim, where it connects to the top one. Again 2 tapes on top of each other.

Then again: the bottom tape was sent under the top one, and the top one was sent behind the rim, they should again connect. And so we continue our weaving, pulling the ribbons. It turns out that we have these 2 ribbons alternately on the left, then on the right side of the rim. If you do not understand the weaving pattern, you can watch the video: kanzashi headband master class - the photo is attached below.

At the end of the rim, cut the tape and glue it with glue. There are a lot of rim decor ideas.

On the video: kanzashi headbands new ideas master classes.

Such a beautiful kanzashi rose can be made with your own hands from a satin ribbon. How wide you take the tape - it depends on how many layers your rose will have. If the tape is 5 cm wide, there are few layers, if 2.5 cm, on the contrary, there are many. For decoration with rim ribbons, you can make 1 large and 2 small roses.

For example: pink rose - ribbon width 5 cm, lilac - 4 cm, yellow - 2.5 cm. Ribbon length - 75 cm. Felt circles for the base of the rose: diameter - 5-6 cm, 4 cm, 2 ,5-3 cm. We invite you to look at the diagrams and the master class, according to which you can easily make a kanzashi rose for the rim.

For work you will need:

  1. Ribbon, width 5 cm, length - 75 cm.
  2. A piece of felt, leather, suede - 5.5 / 5.5 cm.
  3. Needle, scissors, thread to match the color of the ribbon.

We cut out a circle with a diameter of 2.5-3 cm from a square blank. Fold the circle several times and find its center. We mark with a pen. We take scissors and make an incision, starting from our point (middle) in the photo, the incision is very deep, make the cutout smaller. We put the cut edges on top of each other and sew, as in the photo. Got a cone.

On the cone, we begin to make a rose. We take the end of the tape, bend the cut edge inward so that the fabric does not spill out (you can set it on fire with a lighter), and fix the square on the base (Fig. 6). Where the crosses are drawn, you need to fix the square in the corners with a needle and thread. Then, put the tail of the tape on the square and bend the edge (Fig. 7) along the dotted line. Then we sew the corner (Fig. 8).

Then again we put the tape on the finished element and bend it along the dotted line (Fig. 9). We sew 2 corners in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 10), 2 more corners (Fig. 11), and 2 more: it is shown how best to hold the needle (Fig. 12).

We continue to work in the same plan until the tape runs out.

When a small end of the tape remains, we turn over the edge, bending the tape onto the base (Fig. 18). This is what the base of the rose looks like. Leaves can be made from felt, you can sew a piece of lace instead of leaves. So our rose is ready, and itโ€™s more convenient to fix it on the rim like this, slightly cutting the base:
