- although this pattern requires a diagram, and sometimes a detailed description of knitting, it is a fairly simple pattern. Even beginner knitters can master it.

"Oak Leaves"

Pattern repeat - twenty-eight pieces horizontally, thirteen - vertically.

The diagram contains blue cells. They don't count. To the required number of loops per pattern (according to the sample), we add two edge loops. The diagram shows both front and back rows, the calculation of loops on them and symbols.

Openwork pattern "leaves"

Report 18 loops and 18 rows. Please note that the scheme contains both front and back rows. Odd - purl, even - facial. Also note that the rows are listed from left to right.

Knitted leaves with knitting needles: openwork pattern for 11 rows

The report includes 12 loops. The diagram shows ONLY the front rows. Purl knit according to the pattern.

The pattern requires eleven rows in height. Next is the repetition of the pattern from the first to the eleventh row.

Knitting pattern for a sweater with a leaf pattern

We knit with a thread in two additions. We will divide the work on knitting a sweater into several parts: Sleeves, back, front. After knitting all the details, assembly is performed.

We will start the work by knitting the fabrics of the sleeves. In the sleeves, first we knit rows of elastic. And then proceed to the implementation of the main pattern.

A detailed description of the knitting of one repeat pattern of a branch with leaves in the sleeves is shown in the video.

Knitting the fabric of the back also begins to knit with an elastic band. After that, the loops are distributed and two rapports of the main pattern are knitted to the neckline. The front fabric is knitted similarly to the back, but with a deeper V-neck.

When all the details are connected, we will show you how to assemble the details of this knitted sweater into a finished product. During assembly, shoulder and side seams are performed. The sleeves of the sweater are sewn in and sewn together. After the assembly is completed, it is necessary to tie the V-shaped neckline.

Pattern

Completing of the work

Back

On needles No. 5, dial 81 (87–93) sts with a double thread and then knit for the lower bar with a single thread in garter stitch, starting with the front row.

After 2.5 cm = 8 p. from the beginning of the garter stitch, continue the work by distributing the loops of the patterns as follows: chrome, 14 (16–18) sts of garter stitch, 23 sts of the “Leaves” pattern, 5 (7–9) sts of garter stitch, 23 sts of the pattern “Leaves”, 14 (16–18) sts of garter stitch, chrome.

After 26 cm = 84 p. from the typesetting row, make on both sides for the armholes along the mark and continue working as before (see also the description of the “Leaves” pattern in height).

After 48 (49–50) cm = 154 (156–160) p. from the typesetting row, close on both sides for the shoulder bevels, first 4 (6–8) p., then in each 2nd p. 6 more times 4 p. = 25 (27–29) p.

Simultaneously with the 4th shoulder decrease, leave the middle 19 (21–23) sts for the neckline and finish both sides separately.

To round the neck, close from the inner edge in every 2nd p. 1 time 2 p. and 1 time 1 p. (all loops are closed).

Before

Knit like a back, but for a deeper neck, lower the last two motifs in the Leaves pattern in the middle and after 46 (47–48) cm = 148 (150–154) p. temporarily leave the middle 15 (17-19) p.

Finish both sides separately and, to round the neck, close from the inner edge in each 2nd p. 1 time 2 p. and 3 times 1 p.

Shoulder bevel to perform as on the back.

Finish the other side symmetrically.

Sleeves

On needles No. 5, dial 44 (48–52) sts with a double thread and then knit with a single thread in garter stitch, starting from the front row.

In the 8th r. from the typesetting row, add on both sides for bevels, first 1 p., then in each 8th p. 14 more times 1 p. = 74 (78–82) p.

After 44 (45–46) cm = 140 (144–148) p. from the set row, close all the loops in one row.

Knit the second sleeve in the same way.

Assembly

Prick the details on the pattern, moisten and leave to dry.

Run shoulder seams.

Here, similar sweaters were knitted on the aspen, there are a lot of useful things in the comments
http://club.osinka.ru/topic-158418?start=105

Here is a video with a detailed analysis of knitting leaves

Leaf scheme with video

Here is a video with knitting such a sweater - size 46, lanagold yarn classic

Well, now, let's proceed to the selection of yarn and calculations.
As I see it, this sweater can be knitted from a variety of yarns, the main thing is to knit a sample and calculate everything for your yarn, knitting needles and knitting density.

When calculating the number of sweaters needed for this, I started from the information in this post, where the girl already knitted such a sweater http://www.stranamam.ru/post/12192503/

So, there was yarn 50g - 225 m, in two threads, consumption 14 skeins (700 grams).
Thus, with a footage of 100 g - 225 m, the total length of the thread is 1575 meters.
Based on this calculation, it is possibleapproximatelyestimate how much we need yarn of various sizes:
footage 100 g - 175 m (knitting in 1 thread), 50 g - 175 m (knitting in 2 threads) - total 900 g of yarn
footage 100 g - 200 m (knitting in 1 thread), 50 g - 200 m (knitting in 2 threads) - only 800 g of yarn
footage 100 g - 225 m (knitting in 1 thread), 50 g - 225 m (knitting in 2 threads) - only 700 g of yarn
footage 100 g - 250 m (knitting in 1 thread), 50 g - 250 m (knitting in 2 threads) - only 650 g of yarn
footage 100 g - 275 m (knitting in 1 thread), 50 g - 275 m (knitting in 2 threads) - only 600 g of yarn
footage 100 g - 300 m (knitting in 1 thread), 50 g - 300 m (knitting in 2 threads) - only 600 g of yarn
footage 100 g - 450 m (knitting in 2 threads) - total 750 g of yarn

For this sweater I bought Superlambs Special Nako yarn (49% wool 51% acrylic), 100 g - 200 m, color like this, 181.

Now calculations

Pictured above is my drawing.these are the measurements of the girl the sweater is knitted on, size 40-42.
The bottom picture is already in cm, what the sweater should be, according to my calculations...

I want to make the elastic tighter so that it holds a little bit of the sweater and it is slouchy a little on top. I added 5 cm for the overlap. I calculated the width of the canvas as follows: chest volume + 20% + 2 cm for stitching.
As for the neck, I'm not sure yet, we'll look at the course of knitting.

Now we knit a sample. Girls, I highly recommend doing this! This will help you avoid unnecessary work. Yes, maybe laziness, you don’t want to wait until you tie it, until it dries ... but take pity on yourself and your work!

My sample

After we have washed the sample, we steam it (if the yarn allows) and now you can take measurements. I took measurements in a fixed form, as in the photo, that is, I stretched it a little. I was probably lucky with the yarn, because the sample sizes are the same before and after the second.

Further, my calculations of the loops, based on the size of the sample and measurements.

Well, now you can get started!

At the bottom I will have a 2 * 2 rubber band, then a leaf pattern on a branch of 3 facial loops, the leaves will be parallel to each other, I think that it will be possible to accommodate 3 pairs of leaves. Knitting needles for gum No. 4, for the main fabric No. 5

Based on the available patterns, and knitting in the video above, I made a leaf pattern, slightly increasing it. In the diagram, only the front rows, the wrong ones are knitted according to the pattern. The second leaf is knitted in a mirror.

Here is my start. Having connected one rapport of the leaves, I measured it, everything agrees with my calculations, so I knit further

I immediately knitted one report, after finishing the leaf I began to knit the second, but it seemed to me that they were too widely spaced. Therefore, I began to knit the second leaflet on the 33rd row of the scheme (the one that I drew with a pen). As a result, it turned out that in the photo, I liked it so much length 27 cm.

Here it is ready before!
I closed the neck according to the scheme below. Since the neck will be tied with an elastic band, then its depth is suitable, well, as I think

I closed the neck of the back in the same way, only I made the closing of the loops not so deep, but higher.

I immediately made the sleeve with a straight canvas, without expansion, but it didn’t look very nice, and it was cramped. So I made an extension.

For the sleeve, I cast on 32 loops and knitted with an elastic band for 13 rows. Then we add loops up to 45 (27 - rapport, purl 9 on the sides). And knit three leaves.
And when the fourth sheet begins, its first row, this will be the first row in the following increase scheme:

We make increases on both sides (near the edge) in the following rows - 3,7,11,15,19,23,27,31,35,37,39,41. In total, we knit 45 rows and close the loops.

My next step was WTO. I washed the parts of the sweater in cold water with shampoo, let the excess water drain and dried on a flat surface. Then I steamed all the parts, especially the edges, because they will need to be sewn together.

Having sewn the two halves of the shoulders on top, I began to tie the neck.
