Multifaceted stripes in the spring-summer season
You can’t do without a dynamic print in summer, and contrasting bright stripes are another confirmation of this. One of the leaders among the striped print is a rich black and white pattern, it is very diverse, and such diversity is manifested everywhere. The medium-sized check was presented in their collections by Prada, Hermès and Carolina Herrera, presenting to the audience original color variations and the execution of the ornament in models that are completely different from each other - in dresses, shirts, sweatshirts and bombers.
Shows of eminent brands were not without timeless classics, Simone Rocha, Chanel and M-Couture compete in the standard and not very checkered designs of "Prince of Wales" and "Glen". In addition to the usual restrained “masculine” colors on the catwalks, you can see interspersed with rich shades and torn lines that noticeably enliven the somewhat boring “masculine” ornament.
The most popular and most recognizable type of cage this season is the Ginem pattern. The color schemes are inexhaustible, the designers of House of Holland, Peter Pilotto and Antonio Marras showed their endless imagination and presented the pattern in black and white, pink, blue, purple... Flowers in the shows of eminent couturiers do not fade, regardless of the season, they are beautiful both on hot days and on winter evenings. Flowering gardens, an abundance of fields and shady alleys open up before the audience. Alexander McQueen, Anna Sui and Michael Kors did not remain indifferent to the colorful ornament of a thousand small flowers that adorn not only clothes, but also shoes.

This technique was left for their collections by Lanvin, Simone Rocha and Dolce & Gabbana, choosing the largest size of the ornament for their idea. This format allows you to see all the small nuances and color transitions in a beautiful pattern, and translucent fabrics only enhance this effect.
Antonio Marras and Fendi decided to emphasize the role of flora in art, their ornament is as if painted in watercolor and slightly blurred, which makes the clothes airy and romantic. Zac Posen and Rochas decided to use a printed pattern in a discreet color design for their collections, while the charm and charm in the spring 2017 floral print clearly did not diminish. Christopher Kane complemented the black and white palette with bright decorative elements, which for the image as a whole was simply an amazing solution!
House of Holland and Alexander McQueen didn't limit themselves to choosing light fabrics with floral patterns, but placed floral designs and appliqués directly on leather or denim jackets. An interesting idea brought novelty to the podium, showing all the limitless possibilities of design ideas.

The polka dot pattern passes from season to season; for the spring-summer season, the designers preferred a white design on a black background. The leading Houses of Christian Dior and John Galliano use classic print in elegant models of dresses, while light transparent fabrics add femininity and romance to the image. Black peas on a red background can be seen in the Moschino collection, it is quite effective and perfectly blends into the image of a fatal and dangerous beauty.
Leading couturiers, wanting to slightly diversify the pea print, come up with more and more new designs for him. Moncler Gamme Rouge replaced the usual look of the pattern with an image of insects, Givenchy's polka dots seem to burn from the inside, and Trussardi made it something like a print.
Saint Laurent and Zac Posen provided a brilliant performance for their polka dot pattern, replacing the usual pattern on the fabric with a cluster of metallic threads. In the Stella McCartney collection in huge polka dots, you can see another spring-summer fashion print - stripes, so both trends are involved.

Graphic ornament provides great opportunities for imagination, which is a huge plus when creating fashion collections. The whimsical print will never exhaust itself completely, it will be reborn again and again with each season. Hugo Boss, Issey Miyake and M Missoni set their sights on clear color gradations and geometric shapes, providing a clear reading of the graphic design.
In the Akris collection, the graphic pattern is executed with a line of contrasting color, the same technique is used in Etro - in black and white, you can see stripes, geometric shapes and even inscriptions. The house of Emilio Pucci chose a pattern of bright spots and smooth demarcation lines, reminiscent of dripping paint drops.
Blurred color spots and lines, as if sketched by a careless hand, are noticeable in the collections of Zuhair Murad, Céline and Christian Siriano. The drawings seem to come from the canvases of artists and allow you to fantasize, unraveling the meaning of the image.
If we considered clothing as an artistic canvas, then Christopher Kane did not fail to place an icon on it. The house of Moncler Gamme Rouge limited itself to a pencil drawing of the urban landscape, Gucci presented an intricate drawing in which one can notice images of birds, insects and even skulls.
Indifference to graphics is felt in the collections of Marc Jacobs and Missoni, drawings saturated with lines and color gradations do not carry any semantic load, but attract attention with an interesting execution. Dries Van Noten's patterns are like a layered painting, in which blurry spots and chaotic splashes are superimposed with an image of clearly defined colors.
The tenderness and transparency of watercolor has become part of the MSGM and Givenchy collections, many smooth transitions and beautiful shades have a stunning effect. Giorgio Armani also used fabrics with a similar pattern, in which muted dark and fairly light areas alternate.
Spectacular pop art
Fashion tends to return, and the coming season is another confirmation of this trend. The catwalks of the world are full of realistic prints of food, black and white photographs, neon lights and graffiti drawings. Vibrant neon colors are an integral part of street art culture, and the Stella McCartney collection shows this clearly. Something similar to comics can be seen at Lacoste, and Haider Ackermann confirmed that everything is perfect - simply by putting a bright bold blot on a white corset top.
The bright lights of color music played again in the collections of Givenchy and Chanel, penetrating the dark background with neon rays. Elie Saab brought the super girl look to life with a colorful star-patterned dress.
The heart print did not go away with winter, but is reappeared in the collections of Moschino and Anna Sui, appearing in bright red on a black background. The house of Rodarte went beyond the usual, making the heart a detail of the dress.
Patchwork as a print for spring-summer 2017
Patchwork was for some time considered only applicable to home textiles, but this season has expanded the scope of patchwork, using it in clothes. Imitation or real patchwork is ubiquitous in designer collections, and in the expected autumn-winter 2017-2018 season, it will reach its peak of popularity. To create outerwear, patchwork has already been tried by Antonio Marras, Marc Jacobs and Sonia Rykiel, which they perfectly succeeded!
Yves Salomon and Max Mara tried to combine patches of suede, achieving spectacular and noble combinations. In the Alexander McQueen collection, cozy and warm sweaters and jackets are made using patchwork technique, they are sewn from several pieces of old sweaters, as if a gift from your beloved grandmother.
Airy dresses made of several types of fabric seem to return us to the reign of the hippie subculture. A variety of patterns, stylized jewelry and stylized accessories made the collections of Loewe, Nicole Miller and Roberto Cavalli breathing youth and freedom.
The Simone Rocha brand has not bypassed patchwork, combining several fabrics with a floral print in one dress. In the Kenzo collection, you can see a cocktail dress made of pieces of shiny fabrics, and in the Etro dress, only an imitation of the patchwork technique, which did not diminish its ethnic charm and beauty at all.

Animal print has been considered relevant since last spring, and has not lost its position at all. Spectacular colors make the image always intriguing and draws parallels with nature. The imitation of the skin of a snake is present in the works of Zuhair Murad and Balmain, but Topshop Unique has chosen for itself a completely peaceful, but no less original zebra.
Christopher Kane, Dolce & Gabbana and Nina Ricci presented trouser suits made of leopard-like satin fabrics. The image of a modern woman turned out to be not only declaring equality, but even hinting at superiority. It is very dangerous to argue with a girl in such an outfit!
In the collections of Saint Laurent and Haider Ackermann, leopard print becomes part of the evening dress, it shines, shimmers and hints at the high status of the owner. Sexuality and femininity of a predatory color are emphasized by Marc Jacobs with noble lace and transparent fabric inserts; such a frank dress will definitely not go unnoticed.
Dsquared² chose the color of the tiger, combining it with a bright and rich green hue, while Red Valentino remembered the beauty and grace of pink flamingos. In the Max Mara collection, warm sweaters housed a whole menagerie living in the jungle - a cockatoo, a toad and a funny lemur.

Camouflage coloring is an integral part of the military style, which marked its return this season. Interesting models of dresses, jackets, trousers and skirts are complemented by numerous pockets and metal fittings typical of military uniforms. In such a stylization, a protective print is indispensable, as Lutz Huelle and Marc Jacobs once again proved.
The Kenzo brand decided to slightly diversify and add a fraction of other shades to the classic khaki, while considerably complicating the cut, making it more modern and interesting. Arthur Arbesser took a different path, presenting in his collection a dress that is quite feminine and devoid of "male" details.
Sea spaces of spring-summer 2017
What could be more symbolic for summer than a nautical theme? Of course, designers are well aware of this, but the usual strip under the vest is already rather boring. That is why the leading brands decided to approach this issue from a different, completely unexpected side, showing remarkable imagination. Alexander McQueen placed the depths of the sea on the dress, and Dolce & Gabbana and Missoni included the image of fish in the collection.
Gucci designers were inspired by jellyfish when creating the original coat. For Marc Jacobs, crabs and shells are the symbol of summer; applications with them can be found on a warm pullover. A variety of palm trees complete Peter Pilotto's summer outfit, their bright and warm hues are perfect for holidays.
Not to waste on trifles, but immediately place a landscape on clothes: the sun at sunset, sand and turquoise waves were decided by Stella McCartney, Red Valentino and Marco de Vincenzo. Interesting sketches really evoke thoughts about the sea and remind you of summer holidays.

Mexican patterns caught the attention of Balmain, Etro and Roberto Cavalli, in their collections ethnic print adorns both light dresses and warm ponchos.
