What you need when making a bouquet

First you need to understand what bouquet you want to make. If this is a bouquet of flowers, then the first rule is that you cannot mix different types of plants.

Flowers suitable for bouquets are:
  • garden
  • field
  • exotic

We are used to seeing garden flowers in all bouquets: roses, asters, carnations, gerberas. Of these flowers, bouquets are most often made, and they are made quite simply.

Wildflowers grow everywhere outside the city, they can be collected in the meadow: chamomile, lavender, cornflowers, freesias. Such bouquets are romantic.

Exotic flowers make the bouquet unexpectedly bright: phalaenopsis, orchids, camellias, callas. Often only decorative greens are added to these flowers, and the result is impressive.

Decorative greenery helps in creating bouquets of any flowers. With them, gerberas and cornflowers do not look bald and empty. In addition, properly selected herbs determine the mood of the bouquet.

In addition to feather grass and tansy, decorative greenery can be: apidastra, bergrass, gypsophila, ruskus, monstera and others. Go to a flower shop and you will be surprised at the variety of suitable greenery!

For bouquets of toys, socks, sweets and other components, materials that are needed when creating a flower bouquet are useful.

How to beautifully pack flowers with your own hands: practical tips

With the help of fresh flowers, you can tell about your feelings, make a person feel good, or simply ennoble the room. Practically, not a single event takes place without flowers, and just the design of the bouquet plays a huge role. To know how to beautifully pack flowers with your own hands, you need to master a number of simple rules.

Basic rules for packing bouquets

If you are going to a special event, such as a friend's birthday, then take care of a beautiful bouquet. It is advisable to find out in advance which flowers the birthday person prefers, this gesture will please any person, because he says that the bouquet was really selected with love, and not just the first one that came across. Pack it yourself, show the person that you tried and put a piece of your soul into it.

What you need to know when making a bouquet:

  • In order for the bouquet to turn out to be more voluminous, the stems of the flowers from below must be tightly tied, and then continue to decorate it;
  • Flowers can be "diluted" with various inflorescences and green herbs. But be careful, because not all plants look harmoniously with each other;
  • Depending on the volume of the bouquet, you need to consider how much decorative details can be added. If the bouquet is small or just three roses, then it is better not to use colored paper, but simply add a bow or ribbon to the flowers;
  • To pack a bouquet, you should use corrugated paper, mesh and felt, and take paper clips, staples, ribbons, threads as fasteners;
  • Do not use foil to wrap flowers. This material has long gone out of fashion;
  • Packaging should be chosen in light, unobtrusive tones in order not to distract attention from the bouquet itself;
  • Choose materials that will look harmonious with flowers. Remember that with the help of decoration you can hide the flaws of the bouquet and emphasize its advantages.

What materials and stationery do you need to have?

There are various options and techniques for wrapping flowers, there are those that only a person who specializes in this matter can handle. But sometimes you really want to pack flowers with your own hands. To do this, you must have with you:

  • Flowers and various herbs;
  • stapler;
  • Scotch;
  • Ribbons;
  • Paper for wrapping flowers;
  • Various decorative details: pebbles, pearl threads, bows, sequins;
  • Small cardboard or plastic boxes, baskets.

Ideas for how to pack flowers

  • Boxes. Today it has become very popular to give flowers packed in a cardboard or plastic box. You can choose a different form, depending on who you give flowers to and who you are. For a friend or loved one, it is recommended to choose a box in the shape of a heart, and for a grandmother or work colleague, a round or square box should be preferred. In addition to flowers, you can also put sweets, chocolate or macaroons in the container. And for children, various kinder surprises and other sweets. This way of packing flowers is quite simple, it does not take time and effort, you just need to show your imagination;

  • Or you can use baskets for packing flowers. Choose a small basket, put fabric, burlap or corrugated paper, foam rubber there, which will hold the bouquet. The handle of the basket also needs to be beautifully decorated with small flowers;

  • Kraft paper. This paper is becoming more and more popular every day, it is environmentally friendly, breathable, light and neutral, so it will suit absolutely any flowers. Another advantage of such paper is that it takes any shape. You can often find such a crafting option when a newspaper print is applied to it. It looks stylish and tasteful. Paper can be decorated on top with an openwork mesh or other paper of a brighter color. To pack the flowers, cut out the required sheet of paper, place the bouquet in the middle, carefully wrap it with paper, and then tie it with ribbon. Craft goes well with glitter, dried fruits and plants;

  • Net. Using a grid for wrapping flowers is one of the easiest and best options. The range of this material is the widest, you can find any color that suits the colors in your opinion. With the help of a grid, you can give the bouquet volume and a festive look. Take the flowers, tie them from the bottom, wrap the mesh around to make a bag, and then use the ribbon for additional decor;

  • Transparencies. This type of design is the most budgetary and common. Transparent film is suitable for any flowers. For packaging with this material, you must also have a stapler, a beautiful ribbon or a bow. It is necessary to cut off a small amount of the film, literally for one wrapping, put flowers on it, wrap them with a film, and fasten a bow on top.

Master class: round bouquet with a decorative mesh

Dear friends, have you noticed that buyers flock to a beautifully decorated flower showcase like bees to honey? Especially if it attracts attention with its richness and diversity, and each individual bouquet has its own character and style. Therefore, the more flower design options you use in your flower shop, the higher the likelihood that the buyer will find exactly what he likes.

Today we invite you to take a simple step-by-step master class with us on how to make a round bouquet using a decorative grid. Having made such a bouquet once, you will be happy to make it again and again, because such unpretentious, but spectacular compositions will scatter like hot cakes.

For work we need: - from 7 to 17 branches of white chrysanthemum;

— floristic paints-aerosols of various colors;

- any decorative mesh;

- decorative clothespin and stones-beads.

1. Before starting work, we will tint the flowers a little. We paint each branch of chrysanthemum in its own color, spraying paint into the center of each flower.

The more branches of chrysanthemum, the richer the bouquet will look and, accordingly, the price will be higher.

2. When the flowers are colored, we begin to make a bouquet, laying out branches from the central flower in a circle. In each next circle, we place the branches a little lower, as if at an angle, to make a ball. With this method of drawing up the bouquet will turn out to be very lush and attractive. In case there are few flowers, we simply make up the branches to each other. Don't forget to use greens. We use bergrass and ruscus. Next, we tie the bouquet and trim the roots a little.

3. Now let's move on to packaging. We use a grid, but not quite ordinary, but somehow rubberized to the touch. From it we cut off three not too wide strips; one, narrower - for the legs and two identical, slightly wider - for decorating the bouquet. You can also cut square pieces, but in order to save material, we still recommend that you use rectangular ones. This will not affect the appearance of the bouquet, but the nets will take half as much!

4. We take one of the two identical strips of the grid and bend it into a triangle from above, then we fix the triangle with a stapler. We do the same with the second strip.

5. Next, we take our bouquet and lay it on a piece of mesh so that the triangle looks up, then we wrap the bouquet in the mesh and fix the material with a stapler. We frame the bouquet on the opposite side with the next strip according to the same principle and fix it from below. We tie the bouquet with a ribbon. Thus, in our bouquet, ears were formed, protruding in different directions.

6. The next step is to tuck our ears and secure them with a stapler. There are many ways to do this and you can use any of them. So, we have a beautiful round bouquet!

7. Now the leg. We take a narrower piece of mesh and wrap the flower legs around it in a spiral, then tie it with a ribbon from below.

8. Decorative elements will help bring even more summer and sun into our composition. We will put a decorative wooden clothespin-flower on a branch of ruscus, and we will string beads-pebbles on the leaves of bergrass. Our bouquet is ready to please customers!

If your point of sale is located outside, we recommend using additional packaging - regular transparent film. Then the flowers will not become weathered and will not lose their freshness and beauty.

From above, the corners of the package can be decorated with butterflies - pieces of mesh, tied with a ribbon in the center.

We thank you for your work and believe that the new practice was useful and will bring you good profit in the future.

How to beautifully pack flowers with your own hands with various materials

Some bouquets look gorgeous even without decoration. But more often than not, properly selected packaging decorates the flower arrangement and makes it special. To learn how to beautifully pack flowers with your own hands, you should familiarize yourself with the art of decorating them.

Basic Rules

Before you start arranging flowers, you should familiarize yourself with the packaging rules.

When making a bouquet, the main focus should be on flowers. The packaging is a complementary element that enhances their beauty. And if necessary hides small defects.

Do not wrap flowers completely in a bag or crepe paper. Decorating with synthetic ribbons has also fallen out of fashion.

The packaging should not have too many eye-catching decorative elements. The flower arrangement should attract attention.

The trend is naturalness, so natural materials are relevant. You can use packages made of felt, jute, mesh, sisal or rice parchment.

Wrapping

Wrapping film is one of the common types of packaging material. It can be transparent, with a pattern, multi-colored or plain.

Using a bag of film to decorate a bouquet, you will need adhesive tape and a stapler. To highlight each flower of the composition, their stems are laid at small angles. The base of the stems is wrapped with tape to add volume. The bouquet is wrapped in a wrapping film. With the help of a stapler, folds are made. A beautiful and elegant bouquet is ready.

Mesh for packing

Synthetic mesh is gaining more and more popularity. It comes with a striped or rhombus pattern. It can also be with the addition of Lurex and without.

Nets made of natural materials look beautiful. They are made from interlining, jute, burlap, rattan and sisal.

The advantage of mesh packaging is its strength and flexibility. This allows you to transport the bouquet without fear for its safety.

Also, the grid gives additional volume to flower arrangements. Green ornamental plants are perfectly combined with a floristic grid.

corrugated paper

The airiness of the composition of flowers will be added by packaging made of corrugated paper. But you need to work with it very carefully, as it is easily torn and quickly loses its appearance.

One of the design options is a package that looks like an hourglass shape. For this:

  • corrugated paper must be collected in the form of an accordion;
  • place the bouquet in the middle;
  • wrap flowers;
  • tie with a ribbon.

Rice paper

To elegantly wrap a bouquet with rice paper, you need to collect flowers so that their stems fit snugly together. Stems that are too long should be cut back.

Flowers with small inflorescences should be placed around the perimeter of the composition. You can also add various decorative elements. But do not get carried away, as the bouquet should not look overloaded.

Wrapping paper

Simply and tastefully, you can arrange a bouquet using ordinary wrapping paper. It is necessary to cut the paper of a suitable size, fold and wrap the flowers. You can tie with a tourniquet or a thick thread. A note with affectionate words will add romance to the bouquet.

kraft paper

Similarly, bouquets are packed using kraft paper. A distinctive feature is the original drawing, which can be selected in accordance with the desired theme.

The vintage style of such paper attracts and disposes to itself.

Satin ribbon

You can decorate a flower arrangement without the use of special packaging materials using a wide satin ribbon.

You need to pick up a ribbon of a suitable color and wrap the stems around it several times and tie a bow.

For small bouquets, you can wrap the stems to the base. For large compositions, you can leave the ends of the stems open.

Satin ribbon can be replaced with lace, or a translucent fabric can be used.

Packing methods

Depending on how the flowers are packaged, they will look different.

To give the bouquet splendor, you should use the spiral packaging method.

To get a denser composition, it is recommended to choose the round method.

Flowers in a pot

You can give not only bouquets, but also fresh flowers in pots.

The original packaging is a paper box. A flowerpot with a flower is placed on a suitable paper sheet with a pattern. Then you need to bend the opposite corners and fix them on the pot. It remains only to decorate the gift with decorative elements in the form of ribbons, braid, a bow or beads.

You can also use corrugated paper. It is necessary to cut blanks of a suitable size and fluff the edges. Then you should wrap the pot and tie it with a ribbon.

An interesting design option is a box of any shape. A hole is cut in the lid. Its size should be such that a flower passes through it.

Then the pot is placed in a box and tied with a ribbon.

Flowers are a universal gift for any occasion. They talk about the attentive attitude of the giver. A luxurious bouquet, most often, does not require any packaging, but sometimes you can’t do without it. For example, in bad weather, when it is necessary to keep the flowers intact.

Bouquet packaging: basic rules

Before packing flowers, try to find out the tastes of the person to whom you will give them. When packing a bouquet, you should show imagination and use a variety of decorative elements. When decorating, you should follow the universal rules:

  • Packaging for flowers should become a decoration of the bouquet and hide flaws, but not distract attention to yourself.
  • The spiral method of packaging will make the bouquet lush, the round one will add density, and the triangular one is considered mourning by florists.
  • Flowers should not be wrapped in foil or crepe paper, nor should they be presented completely wrapped in cellophane or polyester ribbons. This is considered bad manners.
  • Do not get carried away with decorative elements: they should only place accents and give charm to the bouquet, and not attract the main attention.
  • At present, everything natural is valued, so it is worth using felt, rice paper, sisal, nets, corrugated paper, jute, etc. as decorative elements.

How to pack a bouquet of flowers in an original way?

You will need:

  1. Scissors;
  2. Bouquet of flowers;
  3. Decorative elements (leaves, ribbons, paper, mesh, braid, bows, etc.);
  4. Rice paper.

Instruction:

  • Rewind the stems of the base of the bouquet with tape - this will create additional volume. You can add decorative flowers or other plant elements to the inflorescences. For decoration, you can use a floral grid and ribbons. The floral net looks dignified and keeps the bouquet well.
  • The classic option for packing flowers is a wide satin ribbon, which surrounds the stems in 3 girths. With the help of ribbons, you can completely drape the bottom of the bouquet. By the way, not only satin ribbon is suitable for girdling, but also thin organza, interlining and lace.
  • As a wrapper, you can use corrugated or wrapping paper. Corrugated paper will give the composition lightness, tenderness and fragility. The only disadvantage of such packaging is that the paper deteriorates quickly. Wrapping paper will add style to the bouquet, emphasize simplicity and will not burden it.
  • Use crepe paper or wrapping paper to wrap flowers. Fold in half pattern side down, lay the flowers in such a way that the stems remain below the paper. Now carefully wrap the bouquet on both sides and tie with a beautiful ribbon. The flowers themselves can be moderately decorated with decorative butterflies or bows, without loading the composition.

How beautiful to pack flowers?

Take a bouquet of flowers, tightly collect the stems one by one. Cut carefully. Cover the perimeter with plants with small inflorescences. You can also add peacock feathers, decorative leaves and artificial flowers. See that the bouquet is not overloaded.

Tie the stems with a soft-colored spiral ribbon. Wrap the bouquet with rice paper, cutting openwork flounces at the ends. Gently fold back the cut out frills and secure the wrapper.

How to pack flowers in a pot?

Flowers in a pot are a great alternative to a regular bouquet. Such a gift will keep freshness for a long time. To make the flowers look simple, you can pack them beautifully.

  • The easiest way to pack potted flowers is to make a cardboard or paper box. Place the flower pot in the middle of the leaf. You can take a decorative sheet or a colored one. Bend 2 opposite corners and attach to the pot. Do the same with other opposite corners. Decorate paper packaging with decorative elements: beads, ribbons, braid, lace or a cute bow.
  • You can also pack potted flowers in other ways. Take 2 sheets: dense and thin. It is better to take colored or decorative paper. Glue the sheets to each other from the wrong side. Make an original bag: on one side, fold the sheet like a fan, and on the other, bend one corner. Sew 2 ribbons and carefully tie the package. For decoration, any decorative elements are suitable. The main thing is to show imagination.

  • A good packaging option for a flower in a pot is a box in the form of an octagonal prism. Construct a development of this figure, consisting of 8 equal triangles. The total width of the rectangles should be 3 cm larger than the flower pot you will be packing. Draw a drawing of the bottom and top of the box to one of the rectangles. Add flap strips that will serve as a connecting element. Transfer the drawing to decorative hard cardboard. Cut out, assemble the octahedron along the fold lines and glue it. Packing is ready!
  • The simplest option for packaging a flower in a pot is thin gift paper. Cut out a circle from it, which should be equal to the radius of the pot + the height from the bottom of the pot to the top of the flower + 7 cm. Place the flower pot in the center of the circle, lift the edges of the paper up, forming folds on the sides. Tie the paper on top with a beautiful ribbon and attach a decorative bow.

A large role in the design is played by the creative approach of the florist, who knows the art of composing flower arrangements and knows its basic rules.

    What should a non-professional do, who, for example, has collected flowers in his backyard and wants to make a beautiful composition on his own? How to pack beautifully to make a gift to a dear person? Let's look at a few simple rules.

    Some simple rules for decorating bouquets

    • Decide on a composition style. A decisive role in this is played by the tastes and preferences of the person for whom it is being prepared. If you have the opportunity, find out what he likes more - a delightful rose or a delicate carnation, flowers in foil or net, on a high or low stem. Well, if you did not manage to get this information, do not despair. Flowers, decorated and presented from the heart, will always bring joy to the one to whom you present them.
    • Choose the packaging in such a way that it is an ornament, an addition to the composition, highlighting its advantages, but in no case surpasses the flowers in beauty. It must be remembered that any decorative material in floristry is a means of giving the bouquet a certain style, which is pre-selected by the florist.
    • The form of the composition is also important, which is chosen depending on the type of flowers and the occasion. For example, laying out flowers in a spiral, you will get a lush bouquet. Volumetric compositions are round in shape, but the triangular shape is more suitable for mourning ceremonies.
    • It is considered a sign of lack of taste if the flowers are completely wrapped in paper or foil. Decorative material should only shade the beauty and create the shape of the composition, but not close the buds.
    • When wondering what is the best way to decorate a bouquet, choose a natural decorative material.

    When choosing a way to pack a bouquet of flowers, it is advisable to adhere to the following recommendations:

    • By rewinding the stems of the flower with tape, you will achieve additional volume. Between the inflorescences, you can add small decorative flowers, fern leaves and other plant elements. All this will make the composition lush and favorably shade the buds.
    • A satin ribbon is recognized as a fashionable design option. The stems are wrapped around it, thus creating an original drapery. Other materials can be used instead of tape. For example, interlining, organza or lace. This design style is used when creating a bouquet for the bride, when a small hat of flowers turns into stems tightly tied with a ribbon.
    • It is fashionable to use corrugated paper or mesh to wrap the stems. You do not know how to arrange a bouquet with a net? Very simple. Fold it in half. Arrange the flowers with their stems towards the fold. Carefully wrap the bundle in wrapping net and tie with a wide satin ribbon of the desired color. This packaging looks very stylish and original. The main thing is that the mesh, unlike paper, does not deteriorate from water, so there is no need to remove it when you place the bouquet in a vase.
    • There are additional decorative elements that will make your flower arrangement beautiful and original. These are all kinds of beads, flowers and butterflies that can be attached to the wrapping material. They will greatly enliven the bouquet, supplementing it with interesting elements.

    Popular materials for florists

    Now there is a wide variety of decorative material with which you can decorate bouquets for any occasion and create all sorts of stylistic trends. Here are some of them:

    • Paper. It can be plain or with a thematic pattern, smooth or ribbed - all sorts of variations for different occasions.
    • Film. A rich choice of this material provides a flight of fantasy for the florist. Your bouquets can be wrapped with a transparent film, with a pattern, color, plain, metallized, with holography.
    • Net. Now it is the most popular material for packing bouquets, which is presented in a wide variety. Bouquet in the grid looks very easy, spectacular and elegant.
    • Sisal. This is the fiber of the agave leaves. It is used to decorate small bouquets, as well as to create decorative elements.
    • Organza. Designed to create delicate, sophisticated compositions. Among florists, light and bright colors are popular.

    As you master the art of floristry, don't be afraid to experiment and let your imagination run wild. Then your bouquet will turn out to be truly original and unique.

    Today we will learn how to work with corrugated paper. We will get packaging for flowers made of corrugated paper (in common people - corrugated bouquets). By itself, corrugated paper comes in different colors and different densities (we will divide it into simple and “more expensive”). When you are at the flower wholesale with packaging, you will understand everything yourself and quickly learn to understand this very corrugated (crepe) paper.

    In principle, the packaging is becoming obsolete, but in provincial small (and large too) cities it is still relevant. Bouquets are easy and quick to make. One of the options for universal packaging for bouquets of chrysanthemums (bush and single), bouquets of 3 or 5 roses, as well as mixed bouquets.

    Making such packaging by hand is almost impossible, you will need a corrugated paper machine (or a corrugated machine). This is such a special device, thanks to which you can create beautiful flower packaging. Below is an example of our old crepe machine. It comes with fine teeth.

    Corrugation machines are of different types. They usually differ in the width of the teeth. You may have noticed that flower bouquets are different in terms of corrugated paper. It's all about those teeth!

    Also machines for corrugation (or crepe paper) differ in manufacturers. There are Russian ones (in my opinion, rather crudely made), and there are Italian ones (pleasant in appearance and work, but they are more expensive than ours).

    We will also need scissors, a stapler and a simple cellophane flower wrap. The most common packaging for peonies or tulips will do, but you can do it yourself. The bottom line is that we will need to make a "leg" for this bouquet.

    Often flower merchants use the entire length of the corrugation, but it turns out not entirely profitable, as there is an overrun of paper, and there is also a big risk of wetting the paper in the finished bouquet (then the corrugation will “flow”, which will look ugly). To avoid this, we usually use our method by making cellophane "legs". However, you can do any options, try, experiment!

    We will need to cut 2 strips! One strip will be wider, the other strip will be narrower. This is necessary in order to make the packaging color. The length of the package will be discussed in the video below, however, you can make any length depending on the fullness of the bouquets. For bouquets of chrysanthemums or 3 roses with greenery, the corrugated paper packaging will be narrower, for some mixed bouquets, where there will be many flowers, the packaging will, of course, be much wider!

    We take the first roll of corrugated paper

    Cut into several narrow strips

    For comparison with a whole roll of paper

    We start to twist

    Nothing complicated! It just takes practice!

    We do this until the end!

    Now we connect all this with a piece wider

    And again we pass through the corrugation machine

    Now use the stapler and join the paper together at the two ends

    It remains to attach the "leg" with a stapler. The lower part can be both transparent and colored, here your imagination and common sense will run wild!

    Pieces of corrugated paper can be of different widths

    The result can be such a nice package with hearts!

We put the flowers in the middle, wrap them in the form of an open bag. The lower part can be hidden inside. To add brightness, you can tie in the middle of the package with a ribbon.
