What can you make a New Year's garland from. DIY paper Christmas garlands

How to make Christmas garlands with your own hands? - a question that should be paid attention to, because garlands decorate not only the Christmas tree, but also the house as a whole. You can decorate a fireplace, shelves, cabinets, doors and windows with a garland. In general, who is in what much. Below you will be presented with various master classes for creating New Year's garlands with your own hands.

Start preparing for the new year early. By the way, almost all of the MCs for creating New Year's garlands can be brought to life with children.

How to make Christmas paper garlands with your own hands

I think no one has a shortage of paper, you can use colored paper or use old unnecessary newspapers, magazines or mediocre books. In general, let's start with examples of how to make paper garlands with your own hands.

The first method brings back memories of post-Soviet garlands: you probably also cut out thin strips of paper at school and glued them together, intertwining them. True, this garland has been slightly updated. To create it, you will need thick paper, you can even use cardboard and a knife for cutting circles or a hole punch. In short, you need to cut out a lot of circles with holes inside - and how you cut them out is up to you. When you have made enough circles, start collecting the garland. It will be necessary to cut on circles through one (photo No. 5), and then connect two whole circles together with this “notched” circle (photo No. 6), so continue until the last circle is used. I hope you understand the progress of the work. You can safely decorate the Christmas tree with a finished garland.

A beautiful garland will turn out if you use circles without holes, and it is better to make them in different sizes. In this case, the finished circles will need to be sewn together, for this you will need parchment paper (in principle, regular paper will do, but the thinner it is, the better). Lay the circles on the paper in a row in one line and pass through the sewing machine, simply tear the "auxiliary" paper and throw it away, and the circles will remain on a neat line.

You can sew together not only circles: cut out snowflakes, stars, squirrels, Christmas trees or men - a beautiful garland will come out.

In addition, such a garland can be diversified by creating “voluminous” round logs (just before sewing, you need to put two or three circles together and then simply straighten them).

If you don't have a sewing machine or this method is too laborious for you, you can simply make holes in the figure from which you are making a garland and stick threads or ribbons through them. Or glue the figures on the glue to the base.

Do not forget that the cut out figures can be decorated with felt-tip pens, pasted over with sparkles or colored paper. Combine different elements with each other - this garland will only get better.

In addition to the garland itself on the Christmas tree, you can come up with some other decoration in the same style.

If you don't feel like fiddling with scissors, buy cupcake liners, paint them, glue them together, and glue them to a thread or ribbon.

A beautiful garland is obtained from bows: make them multi-colored and combine with tinsel. Please note in the specific case below, multi-colored tape was used for bows. If you want to add extra gloss to your garland, but you don’t have multi-colored tape: glue the colored paper with transparent tape, the result will be the same.

An unusual garland will come out if you cut out snowflakes from paper, as shown in the photo instructions below, and collect them on a thread with beads.

The garland and voluminous stars, despite its simplicity, looks charming.

How about an origami garland? - you can fold beautiful stars from long strips of paper.

How to make a Christmas garland out of fabric with your own hands

Let's return to the "vintage" garland mentioned at the very beginning of the article, only this time the improvement of this "Soviet" garland lies in the fact that it is made of fabric. I just could not pass by: bright fabric plus buttons - a unique garland comes out. Moreover, if you use felt, you just need to cut the strips, and if you use any other fabric (one-sided), you will need to pre-sew the strips folded in half.

By the way, felt can also be simply cut out some shapes and stitched on a typewriter.

Combine them with beads or cotton balls.

Buttons are also great, especially if you decide to make a Christmas tree garland. And pay attention to the example picture below, the Christmas trees are attached to the clothespin ribbon, which only decorates the finished garland and makes it special.

And you can make no less beautiful lollipop sticks from two colors of red and white felt. Glue the finished “lollipops” onto the tape, you can additionally glue some beautiful decorations.

You can also make round lollipops from felt. This time you need to combine two strips (again white and red) for reliability, you can pre-glue them together, then you need to roll them into tight rolls and you can string them on a thread. For beauty, add beads between them.

Or here is such an option to make a garland of felt: again, two strips are combined, we make cuts at the same distance and turn the fabric through them - as shown in the photo. It turns out a beautiful Christmas garland. If it is too short, you can simply make a few parts and sew them together.

Speaking of a felt garland, one cannot help but recall felt balls. Felted balls will bring a unique comfort to your home.

First, briefly about how easy it is to make felted balls. To make them, stock up on the remnants of woolen threads, combed wool for felting and nylon tights. Cover the ball of threads on all sides with combed wool in several layers and in different directions. Next, place the resulting ball in tights (golf) and tie them in knots on both sides (in one golf, therefore, several balls can enter). Wash the finished design in the washing machine at high temperature with powder (note that your yarn may lose color, so it is better to wash the test ball first and adjust the temperature). This option is suitable for those who need large balls, if you need a small one: make it from one wool. Roll with your hands, soap and hot tap water will help you.

We string the finished balls on a thread and admire the unusual New Year's garland.

Of course, this is a troublesome way to make a garland, you can buy some ready-made balls in the store and string them on a thread.

And you can make woolen pompoms or cotton balls.

Or combine all the methods together: use blankets, felted balls and felt flowers.

Other fabrics are also suitable for creating a garland. You can make flowers from fabric, or cut out beautiful Christmas trees, or you can simply tie strips of fabric around an electric garland.

Or here is such an unusual way at first glance to make a New Year's garland with your own hands: tie pebbles into a long strip of fabric. Agree, it turns out an interesting garland.

We make original garlands with our own hands

The first option to make a beautiful garland with your own hands is neither original nor out of fashion. To bring it to life, you can buy polymer clay or use salt dough in the old fashioned way. Color and decorate the finished elements for the garland: buttons, beads, rhinestones, sparkles, etc.

Since we are talking about the dough: bake cookies according to your favorite recipe (add more cinnamon to them - this will turn out not just a beautiful and unusual garland, but also fragrant) in the shape of little men, make holes in them and string them like “buttons” on a thread or tape.

And another option for an “edible” garland is to buy lollipops in the form of sticks and twist a garland in the form of a chain out of them - it turns out a beautiful, and most importantly, such an appetizing garland.

You can make a beautiful festive garland of cones with your own hands. Screw (or glue) hooks into the cones, make holes in the tape and simply thread the hooks into them. As you can see, a garland of cones is quite simple to make with your own hands.

The second option is to make a garland of cones: screw not hooks into the cone, but loops and thread twine into them and tie knots. And remember that cones can be beautifully painted, sprinkled with sparkles or decorated with potal.

To create an unusual New Year's garland, you can use ordinary coils or wire stars - wrap them with a beautiful thread and decorate your Christmas tree.

Or you can glue the twine thread with small foam balls.

Larger foam balls also look beautiful, glue them with sparkles and string them on a thread alternating with beads.

A magical garland can be made using pretty ribbon and matching beads.

If you need a garland to decorate your fireplace, you can't think of anything better than Christmas balls. Pick up balls of suitable colors, preferably different sizes, and carefully string them onto the wire.

Or you can decorate the mantelpiece with live branches of a spruce plant and complement it all with a delicate garland of small bells, beads and foil hearts.

And finally, my favorite ideas. Probably every house has an ordinary electric garland: the simplest. And do you know what to do with it? - you can decorate it, thus you will get an unusual and very beautiful New Year's garland.

You can decorate the garland with paper flowers or cut out stars from cardboard.

Wool pom-poms, or even better ping pong balls, will look great.

And if you are planning to have a New Year's party with friends, you simply must make a New Year's garland from paper or plastic disposable cups. You just need to pick up colored paper of the New Year theme and paste over its cups. Then, in the bottom of each cup, make a crosswise cut and insert garland light bulbs. It turns out beautifully.

These are, in my opinion, good ideas to make a New Year's garland with your own hands. I hope you like it and you will create something with your own hands. Happy New Year!

A garland is the fastest and easiest way to decorate your home for the holidays. How to make it? In fact, you just need to hang more of any beauty on the threads and that's it! We offer 18 simple, but very original New Year's garlands that you can make with your own hands.

1. Standard "snake"

Even the smallest children, who have barely learned to hold scissors in their hands, will cope with the preparation of "snakes". So, if you have kids, take them with “snakes”, and start more difficult work yourself.

Manufacturing technique: Cut out a large circle from paper and, stepping back a centimeter or another from the edge, start cutting off the tape (see photo) until you reach the center. If you nevertheless entrust this simple task to a child, it is better to draw in advance with a pencil the lines along which he should cut - this will make it easier for the child to work.

2.Garland with soft toys

In this case, you will have to work hard and sew a couple of funny toys - snakes (very important this year), cats, Christmas trees, deer, monkeys ... to your taste. And then just hang them on a long ribbon among coniferous branches and Christmas tree decorations. Perhaps your children have many small soft toys? Then this will make it even easier for you!

3. And they dry on a rope ...

How do you like this idea: in the middle of the room there is a clothesline, on which old Santa and his faithful deer hung their holiday clothes to dry: red caps, mittens, boots with bells, big pants, a bag ... First you have to sew miniature clothes (you can, of course, get similar in toy stores, but it will be more expensive), and then secure them with small clothespins (you can use large ones, of course). If you don’t want to fool around for a long time, hang your mittens or colorful socks to “dry”. And you can mix both. You can simply cut out multi-colored boots from felt or paper and string them on a thread.

4.Using a typewriter

An express version of the garland is to cut out many, many circles-stars-fir-trees-snowflakes from paper or felt and sew them all in a row using a sewing machine. There is another way to make such beauty - but here you need twice as many star circles, since the thread will be glued "inside" the two parts (see photo).

5. Tags

Cut out “tags” from thick paper or cardboard. The bigger, the better. Each of them can be arranged in your own way: write wishes on one, make a drawing on the other, stick a photo on the third, a clipping from a magazine on the fourth, write the names of relatives and loved ones on the fifth, sixth and seventh, cut out a big heart on the eighth , on the ninth - glue a miniature snowflake, etc. Now it remains only to string them on a ribbon or tourniquet. You can involve the whole family in making such a garland - let everyone write their wishes for the next year.

6.Use natural materials

Don't throw away orange, lemon, or tangerine peels - they can be a great material for a Christmas or New Year's garland. Cut out funny figures from the peel (stars, faces, hearts, Santa Claus hat, snowman, snowflake ...) and use a needle to string them onto a thread. Such a garland will not only be a beautiful decoration, but also give a persistent citrus aroma, which can be emphasized by lightly sprinkling cinnamon on the skin and piercing it with cloves in some places.

Very beautiful and original garlands are obtained from cones and apples. Try pairing them with the same orange peel, cinnamon sticks, or spruce branches, or paint the buds a different color.

7. By the principle of the chain

Another simple version of a garland is to cut the ribbon into small pieces of 10-15 cm and glue them together, linking them together like a chain.

8.Colorful pom-poms

Soft lumps of happiness - pom-poms. They remind us of those fluffy balls that adorned our warm clothes in childhood - funny dangling on mittens, scarves, hats and socks. Make many, many bright pompoms, string them on a thread and decorate the Christmas tree with them. Or you can make a pile of snow-white balls and create an imitation of snowballs hanging from a chandelier or cornice.

9. Volumetric stars

Such stars easily spin from paper tapes one or two centimeters wide. Carefully study the photo-instruction and go!

10. Garland of gifts

You, like a real needlewoman, do not even throw away matchboxes? And now, on the eve of the new year, do not know where to put all this rubbish? Pack small boxes in gift paper (you must have kept assorted pieces from past packages, right?) And decorate with miniature bows. Such "gifts", strung on a thread or a tourniquet, become a wonderful element of festive decor, and not only New Year's! With such boxes you can beautifully decorate the table, decorate candlesticks with them, and you can twist the Christmas tree with a garland or just pull it in the middle of the room.

11. Lace fir trees

If you're lucky and got hold of round lace doilies, then this garland option is for you! These wonderful Christmas trees will become a feature of your New Year's decor!

12. Flashlights

Such a garland can at any moment turn into a series of real lanterns, just put one of them on the table and light a candle inside - a pill.

13. A garland of photographs

A great idea is to attach a number of your family photos with clothespins on a long cord, especially if these are photos of your previous New Year's gatherings! Let the garland be replenished with a new picture every year, and so another cute tradition will appear in your family.

14. Angels

Hang a garland of snow-white angels over your holiday table, and put a couple on the table - these winged light creatures have the peculiarity of giving others a sense of miracle with their mere presence.

15. Two-color paper garland

Fold two paper circles of different colors (as shown in the photo) and make a couple of cuts. Then expand both circles, slightly level them and glue them together in four places (if you mentally draw a cross on the circle, then the gluing points will be at the ends of the cross). Next, make a few more of the same details. Now all the "links" need to be glued. Such a garland is good because it does not wrinkle during storage, but folds into one continuous pancake.

16. With one hand

We often indulged in such crafts in childhood, so it will not be difficult to repeat the same procedure today! Try to cut out not just Christmas trees or men, complicate the task and cut out funny penguins, deer, Santa Claus, snowmen.

17. Scrapbooking and fantasy

Use your imagination and the tricks of scrapbooking, the art of turning paper into a masterpiece, in working on a garland. Age the paper, put stamps on it, cut out the most interesting things from old postcards, etc. And then hang these miniature collage pictures around the room like flags.

18. Quite unusual

If you gravitate towards outrageous and art decor, make a garland out of corks or arrange a “running light” in disposable cups! Get creative and you might want to use scraps of newspaper, old spoons, bottle caps, tin cans or miniature flower pots!

New Year is the most beloved holiday associated with miracles and magic. The celebration of the new year is characterized by folk festivals and joyful meetings. It is impossible not to love this time of the year, when everything around is transformed, and every house or shop window becomes like scenery for a fairy tale. Everyone wants to participate in this transformation, and therefore they try to decorate their homes in every possible way. In addition to the main decoration of the New Year - an elegant spruce, New Year's garlands made of various materials are popular. Today, there are a huge number of options for creating this decoration at home, with your own hands.

A garland is a decoration made of interconnected objects. The material used can be any things, paper, etc. And they are fastened with a thread, or other more durable material. Garlands are used to decorate rooms. They are used not only for the New Year, but also for other holidays.

Homemade Christmas garlands

There are a lot of ways to create festive garlands for the New Year. You can decorate with such crafts anything you like, they will look appropriate and beautiful anywhere. The most common option would be to decorate a festive spruce with a garland. But she will be good not only on her. Garlands are actively used in decorating doorways and windows, everything here depends on the length and style of the garland. And if the house has a fireplace, then it will not do without a garland of socks.

Children love to create garlands with their own hands. Moms can use the below options for making these decorations to create a New Year's atmosphere with their child. So, to create garlands with your own hands you will need:

  • Material for the desired garland (paper, cardboard, felt, fabrics, polymer clay, light bulbs, etc.)
  • Scissors
  • Rope or thread
  • Paints
  • Sequins and stones for decoration
  • glue gun

Christmas paper garlands

Perhaps the material is simpler and lighter than paper, it is worth looking for. It is definitely in everyone's house and in any quantity. Paper garlands are very airy and attractive. You can use both ordinary office paper and colored paper, cardboard for crafts, parchment paper, and also foil.

Everyone remembers the most popular garland of their childhood from colorful strips of colored paper. Surprisingly, she is still a success. It is very easy to make, even for a child it will not be difficult. Cut thin strips of colored paper, about 4 cm, must be fastened together in the form of rings with glue. Threads are not needed here. The size of the rings and the length of the garland itself depends on the desire.

The winter atmosphere is perfectly emphasized by garlands of snowflakes. They are suitable for decorating a Christmas tree or windows. To make them, you need to cut openwork snowflakes, you can have different shapes, or you can have the same ones. Next, make a small hole and use a needle to string snowflakes onto a thread. A paper garland is very light, so simple sewing threads will do.

The beauty and sophistication of the interior will be created by voluminous paper balls, which can be used both as independent units and in combination with other elements.

And golden or silver paper will make wonderful stars for a garland. Any form can be given. All you need is scissors and a flight of fancy. However, golden stars are simple and trite. For those who want a really unusual garland, voluminous paper lanterns are worth a try. It is made a little more complicated than the stars, but it looks incredibly cool!

Paper can also be used for origami, which are then hung on a rope. You can make voluminous stars using this technique.

You can make a garland with Christmas tree decorations and the spruce itself. You need to cut out a simple Christmas tree shape, gluing sequins or beads to it, depicting toys. Alternate the Christmas tree with toys in the form of balls, which are also decorated with beads. String on a thread, making small holes in the figures.

Garlands of paper bows are made very simply, but look spectacular. Fold a small square of paper with an accordion, and tie a thread in the middle. Next, hang each bow on strings to a common rope.

A garland of flowers or exotic paper plants will also look very cool. Such a garland will be especially relevant at theme parties, for example, a Cuban-style party with such a garland will sparkle with new colors!

Incredibly beautiful garlands are obtained from paper honeycombs. Such blanks can be bought at the store, or you can make it yourself.

Fabric garlands

Who said that garlands can only be made from paper? All kinds of fabrics are also great for this role. Do not throw away scraps and flaps left over from other works. They are the ones that will go into action.

Fabric garlands can be made in the same way as paper garlands. But the advantage of using fabric as a material is that by cutting out ordinary circles, you can already get a beautiful garland, which is unlikely to work with paper. It is enough to choose the most colorful and bright shreds, you can from different materials, and sew them to a common rope. At will, give any shape: circles, triangles, Christmas trees. You can add fabric cutouts with buttons, beads and other things. Fabrics are slightly heavier than paper, so thin thread may not work. It is better to use a tighter fishing line or rope.

A garland with fabric flowers will look very appropriate at the New Year's holiday. Patterns for creating flowers are very diverse. For example, the simplest in execution technique will be flowers from ribbons. It is necessary to fold the tape with an accordion, while folding it in a circle. There are also flowers with individual fabric petals. All this will create a very delicate and unique garland. It is better to take thin fabrics for flowers, and you can place them on a thread at different lengths, this will add originality.

Felt garlands

Felt - This fabric is now very popular for making crafts. Felt garlands are no exception. The fabric is very comfortable to use, it is soft and does not wrinkle, it lends itself well to sewing by machine and by hand.

The simplest version of the felt garland will be circles of various shapes. Of course, a garland of felt of different colors will look more beautiful. Different circles can simply be strung on a common rope. But, it will look much more interesting if you add layered mugs of different shapes and colors one to one. This will add flair. Circles to each other need to be sewn.

Confetti garland. To make such a garland, you need multi-colored felt in the form of squares and rectangles of different sizes. They need to be sewn to one rope at a distance of about 1-2 cm from each other. Get the effect of scattered colorful confetti. Decorate any room.

Woven felt garland. You need to make 2 strips of felt 1-2 meters long (depending on the size of the room you want to decorate) and 1 cm wide. Then you need to sew the second one to the beginning of one of the strips. The second felt tape must be wrapped around the first, which remains motionless. This is a ready-made garland that does not need a common rope to string it on. Looks pretty unusual.

A good command of the sewing machine will help you create whole composite garlands. From felt, you can sew small figures of deer, Santa Claus, teams, Christmas trees or fireplace mittens.

Felt lanterns are perfect for a child's room. From yellow felt, cut out ovals resembling light bulbs in an electric garland. For fun, you can make eyes and a smile with threads - the children will be satisfied.

A garland with large Christmas balls made of felt will decorate an elegant Christmas tree no worse than glass toys. The size depends on the height of the tree. Beads, beads and even buttons are suitable for decorating such fabric balls.

  • cotton wool and cotton pads
  • scissors
  • needle
  • dense white thread

This decoration can be made in just 10 minutes, and it looks very cute and elegant - especially if you skillfully choose the color scheme. • cardboard 2-3 colors
  • stationery knife
  • scissors
  • needle and thread
  • ruler
  • pencil

Approximate scheme for making snowflakes

Print out the template and cut out the snowflakes (you can use). In one garland, you can combine parts of different shapes and sizes. Attach the template to the cardboard, circle and cut out the snowflake. Repeat the action as many times as you want to get snowflakes. Use a cutter to refine their shape and make a hole in one of the snowflake's rays. String cardboard elements on a thread until the garland reaches the length you need. As you can see, everything is extremely simple!

Garland "Starry sky"

Stars can be strung in vertical or horizontal garlands

Why not decorate your home or office with a bunch of stars? After all, this celestial body has remained a symbol of winter holidays, happiness and good luck for many years. A simple craft using the origami technique does not require special knowledge in this oriental art - even a child can make an ornament. True, for folding the stars you will have to be patient. So, you will need:

  • double-sided paper (colored or with a New Year's pattern)
  • scissors
  • ruler
  • pencil
  • beads
  • thread or thin ribbon

Step by step instructions for making paper stars

Cut the sheet into strips in the proportion of 26 cm by 1 cm and fold according to the instructions. First, tie the ribbon in a knot by making a loop and passing a short piece of paper through it. Make sure the knot is not too tight, but not too loose. Bend the tail of the strip back. Turn the star upside down and wind the ribbon around the craft. The strip itself should lie in the right direction, do not bend or press it.

When a short tail remains, fold it over and hide it between the weave of paper. Using a fingernail or the dull side of scissors, make small indentations in the middle of each edge of the sprocket. So the craft will take shape and volume. String the finished stars or glue them to the thread. Crafts can be arranged both in vertical and horizontal rows, and the space between them will be perfectly filled with small beads.

Garland "Spruce Forest"

Invite the children to participate in the manufacture of paper Christmas trees!

The forest beauty is the most important attribute of the New Year holidays, so we cannot do without the Christmas tree theme in decorating the house. We offer to build a bright garland of paper Christmas trees, which in no time will charge colleagues or household members with a New Year's mood. You will need the following materials:

  • wrapping or scrap paper with a Christmas print
  • ruler
  • pencil
  • scissors
  • thick thread or thin braid

The scheme for cutting Christmas trees from paper

Draw triangles on the back of the sheet. Figures can be either the same or different sizes - it depends on your desire. On the triangles, draw serif lines, keeping the same spacing between them. Cut out shapes from paper, fold in half in height and make cuts along the serif lines. Expand. Make holes in the top of the Christmas trees and thread a thread or braid through them. That's all the work!

  • colored paper
  • scissors
  • glue stick
  • hot glue
  • rope or plastic cord

Print or transfer the part templates to paper. Their sizes can be changed at your discretion and according to the amount of free space in the room. Cut out circles from paper. Keep in mind that for each balloon you need three pieces of different colors and one white for the base. Fold the colored circles in half, grease one of the sides with glue and attach to the base.

Glue the third circle along the fold line. Cut out baskets from white paper. Cut the rope or cord into pieces 2-3 centimeters long and connect them to the balls with hot glue. Make small holes in the top of the balls and thread the thread through them. Now it remains only to choose a prominent place and hang a garland there.

There are countless types of homemade garlands, so with some inspiration and free time, you can always create something unusual and fun. And if you like creative solutions, use materials at hand: your favorite photographs, small soft toys, colorful mittens, gingerbread and candy.

Garlands are beautiful, original and festive, it is not surprising that they are a traditional decoration for the New Year. They can be simple and complex, plain or multi-colored, made of paper, cones, spruce branches, sweets and other improvised materials. The article describes more than 20 options on the topic: do-it-yourself New Year's garland, detailed instructions are attached to each.

paper garlands

From paper trees

Even a child can cope with the manufacture of such a simple decoration. For work you will need:

  • Christmas tree template (you can draw it by hand or find it on the Internet and print it out);
  • thick paper or cardboard with a bright pattern (it is desirable that the patterns are varied, then the garland will be colorful and festive);
  • scissors;
  • hole puncher;
  • rope.

On the reverse side of the colored cardboard, circle the prepared template and cut out the required number of Christmas trees along the contour. Make a hole in the top of each piece with a hole punch. Put all the Christmas trees on a rope. Thread the string twice through each hole. Then the flat parts will be more stable, will not move down the cord and deviate to the sides.

carved herringbone

This option is somewhat similar to the previous one in terms of execution and idea, but the Christmas trees are radically different due to the original design. You will need:

  • colored or patterned paper;
  • rope;
  • scissors;
  • ruler;
  • pencil.

On the back of the sheet, draw isosceles triangles. They can be the same size or different. No need to make too high or narrow parts. If the width of the base is 10 cm, then the sides should be no more than 12-13 cm. Next, you need to make several levels of serif lines on the Christmas tree. The intervals between them must be the same. The first serif (the place of the future incision) is a line parallel to the base, which does not reach the sides by about 0.5 cm. Stepping up from it, draw two serifs opposite each other parallel to the previous one, from the left and right edges. Naturally, they should not converge in the middle. The next notch repeats the first one, and so on. Cut the pieces along the drawn lines. At the top, make a hole with a hole punch through which the Christmas trees will be put on a cord.

"Snowflake"

There are a lot of ways to make garlands with snowflakes. Only one of the possibilities is described below. For work you will need:

  • thick cardboard of different colors;
  • scissors, hole punch;
  • string or rope.

From the back of the cardboard, draw snowflakes according to the chosen template. The optimal element size is 10-12 cm in diameter. Make holes with scissors or a hole punch: one on opposite rays and two in the middle. Put the cut out snowflakes on a thread or a thin rope through the holes, alternating colors. The red and white garland looks very interesting. If you want to make patterned snowflakes, cut them out of thin paper or napkins. Then put on a flat surface and grease with glue water (2 tablespoons of PVA per glass of water). After drying, the parts will hold their shape like starched.

Christmas tree made from paper cupcakes

The garland is a rope on which small three-tier Christmas trees made of colored molds are fixed. Making them is very easy. You will need:

  • Molds for cupcakes (in multiples of 3);
  • Glue or stapler;
  • Colored cardboard;
  • Hemp rope.

Fold one mold in four, it will be one tier. Three, folded in a triangle, glue the molds together, forming a Christmas tree. You can use paper clips or a glue gun. Decorate the top of the Christmas trees with small stars made of colored cardboard. Using the same paper clips or a glue gun, attach the Christmas trees to the twine.

Advice! Try to combine several elements on one garland, for example, differently made Christmas trees and snowflakes.

From a paper spiral

This decoration is made very easily, but it looks unusual and interesting. The spiral garland can be placed on a chandelier, window or ceiling, anywhere it will hang freely. For work you will need:

  • thick cardboard;
  • scissors;
  • small Christmas balls;
  • ribbons;
  • glue.

Cut out a large circle from cardboard, draw a snail inside it and cut along the contour with scissors. Ribbons will be needed in order to attach the balls to the cardboard snail at equal distances using glue or a stapler. Glue one ribbon to the top, making a loop for which the garland will be hung.

Volumetric garland of colored paper

Not so long ago, such garlands were very popular and were found in almost every apartment. Today they have been replaced by a more interesting decor. Nevertheless, this option deserves attention. To make jewelry you will need:

  • colored paper
  • scissors
  • stapler.

Make sheets of paper square. Fold the sheet in half to form an isosceles triangle and then fold it in half again to form a scalene triangle. Make cuts along the fold line, not cutting to the edge of 0.5 cm. Make the same cuts on the opposite side and unfold the paper again into a square. For a garland, there should be a pair of parts. Connect two squares of the same color together by gluing the corners. Several pairs of bonded squares, glue to each other through the middle. When all the parts are connected, stretch them. It turns out a voluminous, pretty decoration.

colored chain

A very simple decoration that many have known since school. For manufacturing you will need:

  • colored paper;
  • scissors;
  • PVA glue.

Cut the paper into thin identical strips 0.5-1 cm wide, 6-10 cm long. Glue the rings from these strips, connecting them together. Be sure to alternate colors. You can decorate the chain with paper flags or lanterns.

The easiest paper garland to make

This option is completely uncomplicated, but at the same time very cute. It is curved paper strips. Most often, such garlands are fixed on the ceiling or on the wall, they hang like a serpentine. For work you will need:

  • colored paper;
  • stapler;
  • scissors.

Cut strips of colored paper 10-15 cm wide. On each of them, make cuts on the side in increments of about 2 cm, without cutting 1-2 cm to the end. reaching the end. It turns out a blank garland in the form of a ribbon cut with scissors on both sides. We stretch the resulting strip. If a longer tape is needed, join several elements. The decoration looks beautiful when several long ribbons of different colors are prepared.

Volumetric garland with a fringe of corrugated paper

This decoration is more like a fluffy colored rain. For creativity you will need:

  • corrugated paper roll;
  • scissors;
  • sewing machine.

Cut the whole roll into several small rolls 5-10 cm wide, depending on the required width of the finished product. Roll them out to make long ribbons. Fold several ribbons together and sew in the middle on a sewing machine. At the edges, make many small notches with regular or curly scissors. The main thing in this work is not to hurt the middle. Then straighten the fringe, being careful not to stretch it too much. Get an airy fluffy decoration. When making a garland, you can connect ribbons of different colors, then it will turn out brighter.

Garland according to the finished template

The garlands in the form of a round dance, which are introduced by Santa Claus, the Snow Maiden, the Snowman, the Christmas Tree and other New Year's characters, look very interesting. Heroes can be made independently in the form of applications. The main thing is that their handles are placed to the side, so that the parts can be fastened together. If you don’t want to bother with manufacturing, find ready-made pictures on the Internet, print them on a color printer and cut them out. It is better to connect the parts with a thin wire or special rivets so that they remain movable.

Garlands from natural materials

From cones, dried oranges and pieces of felt

Making such a garland is very simple, you just have to collect cones in advance and prepare orange slices. Citrus is cut into thin slices and dried in the open air or in the oven. Garlands of this type are usually assembled on a hemp rope. For work you will need:

  • dried oranges;
  • fir cones;
  • rope;
  • felt;
  • hot glue;
  • any other natural decor (cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, mistletoe, coniferous twigs, acorns, etc.).

Such a garland can be made in two ways. First: cut a long rope, the length that the decoration should be, and tie a lot of knots on it. Glue a decorative element on each. The second option looks more interesting and voluminous. For each decorative element, additionally cut short ropes of different lengths and use them to attach the parts to the main cord.

Felt is needed in order to cut out the figures. They can be flat or voluminous. In the second case, you will have to cut out two identical parts and sew them together, filling them with cotton wool or other soft material inside.

Such a garland will be wonderfully complemented by vine stars painted in golden color or spruce twigs. The finished product can be covered in places with golden or silver paint, artificial snow.

From coniferous branches and cones

With a wonderful "live" garland, you can decorate anything you like both inside and outside the house. It looks really chic and festive, and it is not difficult to make it. You will need:

  • fir branches;
  • cones;
  • wire;
  • Christmas tree decorations (bows from a wide ribbon or burlap, beads, orange peel figures and other decor are also suitable);
  • corrugated plumbing pipe (used as the basis for such a fairly heavy garland, it is flexible and durable).

Cut spruce branches and fasten to the pipe with wire, as if weaving a wreath. Add cones and other decor along the way. Decorate the finished garland with artificial snow.

Sweets garlands

From sweets: 3 options

Many decorate the Christmas tree with sweets, but you can also make a wonderful garland out of sweets. Before work, it is advisable to eat well so as not to eat half the parts.

You can fasten candies in one of three ways:

  • Attach the tails of sweets to each other with a stapler or thin short wires. To make the decoration look harmonious, it is better to use candies of the same size, but of different colors.
  • The second way is to separately bind sweets with a rope cut into small pieces. Connect the sweets by tying in turn so that there is a piece of rope between the ends of the candy wrapper.
  • The third method is the most laborious, but it also looks much more interesting. For the garland, prepare one long piece of rope of the length that the finished decoration should be. The string should be thick enough to support the weight of all the candies. Using thinner ropes or ribbons of different lengths, tie each candy separately to the main cord. In this case, the more varied the sweets, the better.

With edible bulbs

Without a doubt, this original decoration is very easy to make. For work you will need:

  • m&m's sweets or the like (you can take chocolate covered raisins, but then the garland will turn out not so bright);
  • jelly candies (it is most convenient to use jelly worms);
  • fishing line or thread with a needle;
  • lighter.

M&M's sweets in this case will play the role of the light bulb itself, and the gummies, cut into small pieces, will be the base. Prepare the details. For each dragee, cut off small jelly cylinders. On the one hand, using a lighter, melt the jelly a little and attach it to the “light bulb” with a hot edge. When the required number of parts is ready, string them on a thread through a jelly "base". The thread should not be too thick, otherwise the jelly will break.

From popcorn and cereal

An edible garland will look great on green spruce branches. For manufacturing you will need:

  • thread or fishing line with a needle;
  • popcorn;
  • dry breakfast in the form of colorful circles.

String popcorn on a string, alternating with cereal rings. It is not necessary to follow any sequence, the elements can be strung in a chaotic manner.

Garlands from other materials

"Snowball"

A very interesting version of a vertical garland that looks like a real snowfall. This decoration can be used to decorate a window or a chandelier above the festive table. To make snowfall you will need:

  • white thread with a needle;
  • round foam or cotton.

String foam crumbs on a long thread. The more such threads there are, the more spectacular the “snowfall” will look. It is good if the balls are of different sizes. You can replace the foam with ordinary cotton wool. Tear the cotton into small pieces and roll into balls. To prevent the snowball from falling on a thread, glue it with ordinary PVA.

From pasta

Recently, Christmas decorations made from curly pasta have become very popular. They are easy to make with your own hands, and painted in gold or silver, they look like expensive decor. There are many examples of making various snowflakes on the Internet, and if you make a few and attach them to pasta beads, you get a wonderful garland. The thread on which the jewelry will be attached must be strong enough.

Make a small loop and string pasta on a string until the “beads” are the required length. Complete the garland with beads, ribbons, bows and of course spaghetti snowflakes.

From pom-poms

Soft warm pom-pom garlands can decorate anything from a Christmas tree to a window. To work, you will need several skeins of colored yarn or a couple of boring sweaters.

Make pom-poms in any convenient way. The easiest and fastest option is on the fingers. Wind the threads around two or three fingers of your hand, then, without removing it from your fingers, tie the loop in the middle, dividing it into two equal parts. Leave the dressing thread long. Later, with the help of it, individual elements will be connected. Cut the loops around the edges. The more thread you wrap, the fluffier the pom-pom will be. Pompoms can be of different sizes and colors. The basis can be a tourniquet or a pigtail from the same threads from which the pompoms were made.
