What to make a transparent ball. Beautiful balls of paper strips for the New Year. Edible Christmas toys

The New Year is getting closer, so I want to touch this magic already. Of course, it’s still too early to decorate the Christmas tree, but you can get creative, for example, make Christmas balls with your own hands. There is an article on the blog about it, there are a lot of interesting ideas.

Balls are considered the most popular decoration, of course, you can buy them, the choice is huge - small, large, plastic, glass. But handmade items are not just decoration, they are a mood, a part of the soul. Such a toy will stand out on your Christmas tree or be a great New Year's gift.

Now the English expression has become popular - hand made (hand made), which means "hands make". And this is not just a fashionable word, now handmade things have become appreciated. Huge supermarkets are opening, where you can buy a lot of goods for hobbies, creativity, needlework, there would be a desire.

I propose to look at different design ideas - from simple ones that anyone, even a child, can handle, to more complex ones.

DIY Christmas balls for 2019 - 2 step-by-step master classes

The upcoming 2019 will be the year of the Yellow Earth Pig, which means that there must be a Pig toy on the New Year tree. There are many ideas on the net, we will consider those that will have a round shape.

Did you know that ordinary apples were the predecessors of the balls. In Europe, Christmas trees were decorated with this biblical symbol in ancient times. In one of the lean years, glassblowers came to the rescue, making apples out of glass. This innovation caught on quickly. Candlelight was reflected in glass products, which made the decorated Christmas tree more festive.

Christmas ball pig

Remember pig Nyusha from the cartoon, she is round, but very cute. You can make such a cute pig yourself from an ordinary Christmas tree toy.

Necessary materials:

  • Christmas tree toy with a diameter of 6, 8, 10 cm
  • pink and black acrylic paint
  • polymer clay - white, light pink, dark pink colors
  • acrylic lacquer

You will need a hot gun to glue the parts, but if there is none, then you can use second glue.

Tip - do not use Moment-Crystal glue, as it can dissolve the paint on the ball.

Step-by-step instruction:

Such a cute toy will be a wonderful decoration for your Christmas tree.

The pig can be any color, choose the one you like best.

Video on how to make a Pig pom pom ball

If you have leftover yarn in your bins, then you can make Pig's cute face out of a pom-pom, detailed step-by-step instructions in the video. Children will like this Christmas decoration, because they love soft toys so much.

Schemes for collecting voluminous Christmas balls from paper

It's easy to make beautiful Christmas decorations out of paper. You can use colored paper or white paper, drawing your drawings, snowflakes on it, or stick interesting pictures on it. Children will like such creativity, such balls can be made not only for the home, they can be taken to kindergarten or school. For manufacturing, you will need ordinary office paper, multi-colored or white, glue, scissors.

Modular paper ball

Such a product is made from modules that are glued together, they can be of different colors or plain, it all depends on your preferences.

Description of work:

Large do-it-yourself honeycomb ball (step by step instructions)

Looking at such a product, it seems that it is very difficult to make it. In fact, even a child can cope with such work, the main thing is to understand the manufacturing principle.

It is better to study on a large model, then you can use it to decorate the interior, take it to a kindergarten or school to decorate a large Christmas tree. Having understood how it is made, you can easily repeat the steps on small products.

The main rule: do not get confused with the order of applying glue.

How to do:

Ball-honeycombs can be made from fewer halves, then honeycombs will be rarer.

DIY Christmas balls in shabby chic style

Shabby chic balloons can be very different, because this is not a technique, it's just a style.

The founder of this style was the Englishwoman Rachel Asheville, who initially bought up old furniture, decorated it for herself, and later began to sell her work. Accordingly, a common interior was created for such furniture. The peculiarity of this style is tenderness, warmth, and not pretentiousness of expensive things.

Today, “shabby chic” is a fashion trend based on the principle of giving things a “shade of antiquity”.

Chic style is often compared with Provence style:

  • it is characterized by angels, soft floral motifs, mainly roses, peonies;
  • from geometric patterns, a slightly noticeable cell or strip is allowed;
  • the color scheme is light, soft, mostly white, beige, peach, pink. You can add shades of lilac, salad, lavender, blue, as long as they are not bright;
  • shabby chic is lace, organza, satin, linen, delicate chintz.

Not surprisingly, handmade items (hand-made) fit perfectly into this style, New Year's toys were no exception.

Scrapbooking technique for decorating balloons

Scrapbooking is the best fit for the shabby chic style, as this technique involves decorating.

To make such balls with your own hands, you don’t really need a master class. It is enough to buy ready-made inexpensive plastic New Year's toys or foam blanks in the needlework departments.

For decor, find in your bins, which every needlewoman has, pieces of fabric, lace, ribbons, jewelry, interesting buttons, beads and, having shown imagination, make an exclusive decoration for the Christmas tree.

Decoupage Christmas balls

The now very popular decoupage technique is perfect for the shabby chic style.

It is not difficult to master it, in the article mentioned above there is a detailed master class for beginners. It is enough to choose pictures, decor in the right tone and unique works will catch the admiring glances of your guests.

In the video, I propose to watch a master class on making a New Year's ball in the shabby chic style using the reverse decoupage technique.

Decoration of Christmas balls with beads

Craftswomen working with beads do not disregard Christmas decorations. From small beads, delightful works are obtained - Christmas trees, angels, cones and much more. Iridescent reflections of small colored beads create a sense of a fairy tale in the house.

Balls are also decorated with beads, and in a variety of ways. They are completely braided, creating beautiful patterns, making exquisite openwork decorations.

To make such beautiful toys, you will need beads, nylon thread or fishing line, a needle, and, perhaps most importantly, patience.

And the master class in the video will help you, good luck!

How to make a ball on a Christmas tree with a photo with your own hands

Now you can order different toys - personalized, with a logo, with a photograph, but for creative people it will not be difficult to make such things with their own hands. Read on and you will see that everyone can make a balloon with a photo.

For manufacturing you will need:

  • detachable transparent ball
  • acrylic paint - white and colored
  • glue "moment"
  • sequins
  • photo

Description of work:

Christmas ball of satin ribbons and fabric

The fantasies of needlewomen have no boundaries; ribbons and pieces of fabric are used to decorate Christmas tree decorations.

And it’s already not easy “blinded, from what was”, different techniques are used, kimekomi, kanzashi, artichoke. Balloons decorated with these techniques are simply a work of art.

Kimekomi technique for fabric Christmas decorations

Products made using the kimekomi technique are somewhat reminiscent of our patchwork technique.

We use it for the manufacture of quilted bedspreads, blankets, sofa cushions, and other products, but not for New Year's toys. But it turns out that balls made from scraps of fabric also look very original and beautiful.

In Japan, kimekomi was used to make dolls by pressing strips of fabric into slotted wood blanks.

Materials for work:

  • foam blank
  • glue stick
  • stationery scissors
  • shreds of fabric
  • sharp object with a rounded tip (table knife, knitting needle, crochet hook)
  • various items for decoration

The principle of operation is simple:

Fabrics for such work use a variety of both elasticity and strength. It is easiest to work with elastic fabrics, the most difficult - with loose fabrics with a rare weave.

Christmas balls kanzashi

Kanzashi is a technique similar to origami, only it does not use paper, but satin ribbons. This art came from Japan, women used kanzashi to decorate their hairstyles. Now this technique is used not only to decorate hair clips, but also to decorate clothes and objects.

According to the craftswomen, if you figure out how to make kanzashi, it becomes clear that this is not at all difficult.

Like it or not, you can find out by watching a video on making a Christmas ball using this technique.

Decorating balls using the artichoke technique

Artichoke is another patchwork technique that is actively used to decorate Christmas balls.

The meaning of the technique is simple - you can draw an analogy with origami - we add pieces of fabric and attach to the base.

Candy Christmas ball

New Year, sweets, sweets - these concepts are inseparable. Imagine how happy your child will be when he sees a delicious toy on the Christmas tree, although it is unlikely to hang for a long time. Sweet balls can be an original New Year's gift.

For the manufacture of sweet toys, you can use a foam blank and use glue, tinsel, pieces of fabric, ribbons to form a ball.

Another option is to use split balls. This option is quite simple - you just need to fill the transparent blanks with sweets and decorate them beautifully.

New Year is a magical holiday and you can touch this magic with your own hands, creating real masterpieces. Charge your loved ones with inspiration, let each member of your family make their own New Year's ball so that your Christmas tree is the most elegant. Good luck and a fabulous New Year.

Helpful Hints

To decorate a Christmas tree, home or office, it is not necessary to purchase a large number of Christmas balls.

Beautiful balls can be made do it yourself at home from various materials.

Just stock up on a few simple Christmas ball making tools, and take the time to make crafts and be patient.

All New Year's balls are made quite simply, and even children can be involved in working on them.

On our website you will also find:

Craft for the New Year: a ball of bows

You will need:

    glass or foam ball

    hot glue

    small ribbon bows.

* Bows can be made by hand or bought ready-made (usually they are self-adhesive).

Take a ball and glue it with bows.

If you are using a foam ball, then a strong thread or tape is glued to it.

Volumetric balls for the New Year: a ball of foam and fabrics

You will need:

    foam ball

  • brush for glue

1. Using a skewer, make a hole in the center of the styrofoam ball.

2. Now take the tape and use a skewer to thread it through the hole. Pass the end of the ribbon through a small bead and tie the ribbon into a knot.

3. Pass the other end of the ribbon through another bead and also tie a knot. You can secure the knots with PVA glue.

4. In a bowl, dilute the PVA glue and a small amount of water.

5. Cut the fabrics into several pieces of different shapes and sizes.

6. Using a brush, apply glue to the ball and start gluing gently pieces of fabric.

* Do not apply too much glue.

How to Make a New Year's Eve Ball: The Golden Snitch

You will need:

    thin wire

    thin paper (papyrus paper)

  • self-hardening mass for modeling

    acrylic paint

    brush for paint.

1. On paper, draw a pattern of wings for your Snitch. Use this pattern to model thin wire wings. Twist the ends of the wire.

2. Place a sheet of thin paper on the table and place the wire wings on it.

3. Apply a little glue to the wire on several sides and gently bend the paper.

4. Carefully cut the paper around the wire to make wings.

* You can paint the wings with acrylic paint.

* You can also apply glitter. To do this, spread the wings with PVA glue and sprinkle with sparkles.

5. Glue the wings to the ball with self-hardening mass for modeling.

* You can also use Styrofoam instead of a glass ball. In this case, the twisted ends of the wire wing are simply screwed into the ball. The foam ball will also need to be decorated with paint, for example.

Christmas balls from chewing candies for the New Year

You will need:

    foam ball

  • hot glue

    small gummies or marmalade

1. Take a foam ball and use glue to glue a piece of tape to it and thread it on top with a pin so that the decoration can later be hung on the Christmas tree.

2. Start adding glue drop by drop and stick candy or marmalade (or marmalade pieces) to the ball.

* Instead of sweets, you can glue almost any decoration: buttons, sequins, small tinsel, and so on.

A ball of acorn hats for the Christmas tree for the New Year

You will need:

    acorn caps

    acrylic paint and brush

    foam ball

    jute rope

    thin wire (floristic, for example)

    thin tape

    glitter (optional)

  • hot glue.

1. To paint a foam ball, choose a color that is close to the color of the acorn caps. This step can be skipped. It is only needed to hide the white color of the ball.

2. Start adding hot glue drop by drop and stick on the acorn caps. You can pierce the foam ball a little with these hats. Glue the hats as close to each other as possible, but do not bother too much - there will still be gaps, and this is normal.

3. Make a loop out of the wire, twist the ends and screw them into the ball. Now you can cut the rope and thread it through the loop to hang it on the Christmas tree.

4. You can also make a bow out of ribbon and glue it to the top of the balloon with hot glue.

5. You can apply PVA glue to the outer parts of the acorn caps and sprinkle glitter on the glue.

DIY crafts for the new year: balls decorated with thread

You will need:

    knitting thread (the thicker, the easier it will be to fix it)

    foam ball

  • wire or pin.

1. Bend a piece of wire into a U shape and insert it into a foam ball. The wire will help you later hang the ball on the Christmas tree.

You can use a pin, which you need to pierce the thread and then insert into the foam ball. In this case, you will need to leave a small tail at the thread (which you will then glue to the ball) in order to hang the ball on the Christmas tree.

2. Cover half of the ball with PVA glue and begin to gently wind the thread around it.

3. When you have almost reached the center of the balloon, turn it over, apply glue to the other half and continue wrapping the balloon with thread.

Do-it-yourself volumetric balls for the New Year

You will need:

    cardboard (white or colored)

  • printer (to print the template)

* You are invited to print two versions of templates for two balls of different sizes.

* Each ball is made from 12 pieces of paper of the same size.

Paper ball templates for the New Year

Small

Big

1. Print out the templates and cut them out by making cuts in the indicated places.

2. Make a small hole in one cut flower, thread a thread through it, tie its end into a knot and secure it on the back with tape.

To make it easier to assemble the ball, consider the part with the thread as the "north pole" of the ball. Add details to it until you reach the "south pole".

3. Use cut lines in each cut out element, fasten all the details to make a ball.

Beautiful balls of paper strips for the New Year.

Option 1.

You will need:

    colored cardboard

1. Cut a sheet of colored cardboard into several identical strips.

2. Fasten all strips with a stapler. First, cross two strips at a right angle and fasten them together, then add two more strips diagonally and also fasten (you can use glue).

3. Bend each strip in turn and secure the ends.

The ball can be decorated with tinsel by cutting off a small piece and gluing it.

Christmas balls for the New Year

Option 2.

At the end of the text instruction you will find a video instruction.

You will need:

    colored cardboard (multi-colored magazines)

  • cocktail tube

    pencil

    needle and thread (or wire)

    awl or screwdriver

  • various decorations (optional).

1. You need to cut 6 strips of colored cardboard. The stripes should not be too wide.

2. Using an awl, make a hole at the end of each strip.

3. Lay out all the paper strips as shown in the image, and make a hole in the center with an awl.

4. Prepare a thread, a needle and a bead that will need to be attached to the bottom of the future ball.

Cut the thread to the desired length so that you can hang the balloon.

Pull the first bead all the way to the end.

Pull the needle and thread through the hole in the center of the strips, and leave a bead at the bottom.

5. Cut off about half of the cocktail tube (its length is 1/4 of the length of the paper strip), insert it into the center of the workpiece and thread a thread with a needle through it.

6. Start bending the strips up and pulling a thread with a needle through the hole at the end of each strip. It is also better to fix the bead on top.

Video instruction:

* You can use wire instead of thread.

Step by step execution of balls.

First option.

It is not always possible to buy foam balls. We propose to make the basis for the New Year's ball from old newspapers. Crumple the newspaper into a ball. To make the surface smooth, wrap a newspaper ball with plaster or window paper.

Here is such a paper ball turned out.

We make a hole with scissors, put glue into the hole and insert the ribbon.

We begin to decorate the ball with pumpkin seeds. Glue them around the ribbon.

We continue to glue the grains in a checkerboard pattern, row by row.

Here is such a ball - a bump turned out.

Color it with tinted hairspray. You can use any dyes in spray cans.

This is how our ball turned out. Now he looks like a raspberry. We tie a bow. Let's see which one fits best. The choice is yours.

And this is how it will look on the Christmas tree.

Second option.
Materials and tools.
- satin ribbon, rubber ball, sequins;
- scissors, glue stick, decorative needles;

Take the ball. You can use any object round
forms. We apply a little glue to the center of the ball, apply the tape and evenly wrap it around. So that the ribbon does not slip during operation, we fix it with a needle.

Lay the ribbon next to the first line, pressing firmly against the ball, and make another turn, slightly overlapping the edges of the previous ribbon.

Continue wrapping the ball around with the tape, gently brushing the surface of the ball with glue.

After the ball is completely wrapped, cut off the excess tape and make a loop, securing it with a needle. Decorate the ball with sequins, flowers, snowflakes.

Now our Christmas tree is decorated with two balls.

Here are such multi-colored balls, large and small, you can make.

Here is another option for making a New Year's ball.
Materials and tools.
- satin ribbons;
- scissors, glue;
- round base for the ball.

Take a ribbon 2 cm wide, 1 m long. Cut into strips 7 cm long. Try to make all pieces of ribbon the same.

Let's make triangles. Bend both edges to the middle, add a drop of glue and hold so that the edges of the ribbon do not fall apart. Fold all the other pieces of tape into triangles, as shown in the photo.

Prepare any object of a round shape. We made a paper ball again. A ribbon was inserted into the hole and a loop was made.

Start gluing the triangles around the loop, overlapping each other a little.

Glue the remaining triangles in a checkerboard pattern. Use the adhesive carefully so as not to stain the tape. Lay out the triangles so that there are no gaps.

It turned out such a yellow “ruffled chicken”. The ball looks beautiful, satin ribbons shimmer in the light.

DIY Christmas balls, created by parents together with their children, are not just symbols of celebration, but inexhaustible sources of precious memories that will live as long as the toys themselves last. Each such ball is a real work of art, in which a piece of the creator's soul is also invested. Therefore, their value is incredibly high. We invite you to familiarize yourself with a selection of interesting and unusual ideas that will prompt, how to decorate Christmas balls with your own hands for 2017.

How to make Christmas balls with your own hands?

Making Christmas balls at home today will not be a problem. Handicraft and art stores provide a wide selection of decorative items, as well as special blanks that can be used as the basis for future toys.

DIY Christmas balls from threads and glue

You can create original Christmas balls with your own hands from threads and glue. For this you will need the following materials:

  • balloons;
  • decorative threads (preferably dense);
  • PVA glue;
  • container for glue;
  • needle;
  • scissors.

Consider how to make balls of thread with your own hands step by step.

1. First, inflate the balloon to the required size and tie it tightly. To give the ball a rounded shape, it is recommended to wrinkle it slightly. Next, you need to thread the thread chosen for decor into the needle, pierce it near the bottom with a plastic vessel taken under the glue. After the thread should be let through the container and pour glue into the last one.

Attention! To make the ball durable and not lose its appearance, it is not recommended to dilute the glue with water.

2. Next, the thread must be impregnated with glue. To do this, it should be pulled through a container filled with PVA. Immediately, it is wound on a base balloon. While the thread is being wound, turning the ball should be done very intensively. Since the balloon will be removed from the inside at the end of the procedure, the winding should not be done very tight in the place where it is tied. It is better to leave a small free space at the bottom.

3. When the ball is as tight as you thought, you need to cut off the thread, but leave a small tail so that you can later form a loop.

4. It is recommended to put such a ball in a dry place for a while until it is completely dry. If you do not want to wait, you can use a hair dryer and speed up the drying process of the toy. This will only take 5 to 10 minutes. When the threads are completely dry, you can pierce the base balloon with a needle and pull it out from the inside of the toy in the place where the string was, but very carefully so as not to damage the created beauty. From the tail of the thread, you need to make a loop and you can decorate the Christmas tree.

DIY Christmas balls from ribbons

Do-it-yourself Christmas balls from ribbons look bewitching. To make them, you need to have the following set of materials in your arsenal:

  • satin ribbons of two colors: one is about 2.5 cm wide and about 3 m long, and the second is a little narrower, about 1 m long;
  • ball-blank;
  • wire;
  • awl;
  • beads and sequins;
  • thermal gun;
  • loop thread.

Important! since the base will not come out of the finished ball, inexpensive lightweight foam blanks can be used.

You should start and form a loop for hanging a future toy. To do this, it is necessary to mark the middle on the blank for the ball and use an awl on both sides to pierce it through and through. A wire with a bead fixed on top should be threaded into the punctures.

From the ribbons you need to form petals, make a flower out of them, collect on a thread and glue to the ball so that the wire is in the center of the flower. Attach an ornament to the top and create a top. From it it is necessary to move down and glue the petals from the ribbons, alternating colors, for example:

  1. in the first row: two whites, two reds, two whites, two reds;
  2. in the second row: one white, three red, one white, three red;
  3. in the third row, you need to increase the number of petals: two white, six red, two white, six red.

Next, you need to glue the petals without adding until such time as they become too close to each other. At this moment, it will be necessary to reduce their number to the original (i.e., up to eight) and glue it to the end.

To make the ball more magnificent, it is necessary to make more petals in the first row - not eight, but ten.

DIY paper balls

For lovers of openwork products, an interesting way to make New Year's toys can be a paper version. Such Christmas balls will be in harmony with any interior, and it will not take much time to make them.

First you need to prepare:

  • thick colored paper (A4);
  • a knife designed for artistic cutting;
  • threads;
  • needle;
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • beads;
  • openwork patterns.

1. The selected templates are printed on paper. Their size can be adjusted depending on the paper size and personal preference. Next, the templates must be carefully cut. To do this, use a knife for artistic cutting.

If there are concerns that the drawing will be erased during the work, you can close it with a paper sheet.

2. When the pattern is cut, you should start cutting out the sweep of the ball.

3. Using a round pencil, it is necessary to give the scheme a rounded shape. Poke holes at the tip of the petals.

6. Then you should create a loop of beads. To this end, they must be strung on a string and pulled inward through those holes that were previously made in each petal.

6. The final touch is the creation of a loop for hanging. And the ball is ready to decorate the Christmas tree.

DIY foam ball

Styrofoam balls have many options. Blanks from this material are chosen as the basis for future Christmas decorations. Such balls are decorated with multi-colored pieces of felt, sequins, paper flowers, beads, threads, etc.

As one of the ways to create an original Christmas tree decoration from polystyrene foam, you can consider a “cake ball”. To make such an appetizing decor element, you will need:

  • foam blank in the form of a ball;
  • PVA glue;
  • small white sparkles;
  • a thread;
  • scissors;
  • red bead.

To begin with, the foam spherical blank must be liberally smeared with glue. Then it must be lowered into a container with pre-poured small sparkles and carefully rolled in them so that there are no missed places. Then you need to let the ball dry thoroughly.

After the final drying, using a cloth or corrugated paper, you can form a beautiful skirt - a wrapper for a cake, which is attached from below. Glue a red cherry bead onto the top of the resulting decorative treat. The last step will be the formation of a suspension from a thread on a foam ball.

Other Styrofoam Ball Options

DIY Christmas balls - decoupage

Decoupage is considered an interesting type of modern decor. This art can also be used to create Christmas balls.

This requires a set of tools and materials, consisting of:

  • plastic balls (about 8 cm in diameter);
  • napkins with New Year's drawings;
  • multi-colored acrylic paints;
  • brushes;
  • PVA glue;
  • acrylic varnish;
  • semolina;
  • sequin;
  • sponges for washing dishes;
  • modeling boards;
  • contours for working with ceramics and glass.

A small amount of white acrylic paint should be laid out on a board, dip a sponge in it and apply to the ball using point movements.

Important! It is recommended to carefully ensure that the sponge is evenly and well saturated with paint. Otherwise, do-it-yourself decoupage of Christmas balls will be spoiled by the visual effect of the presence of snow on their surface.

So it is necessary to paint all the balls that you plan to decorate. While they dry (about an hour), you should start preparing the napkins. The upper painted layer must be separated from the lower one and carefully cut out the New Year's drawing. Next, you should dilute the glue with water in a ratio of 50/50. The cut out drawing must be moistened in an adhesive solution and attached to the ball. The process of gluing it is recommended to start from the middle, smoothly moving towards the edges.

And then around the glued picture you need to create a background of the corresponding color. To do this, the acrylic paint must again be laid out on the board and applied with a sponge on top of the white background on the ball. After this procedure, Christmas decorations should be left in a dry place until completely dry, and then completely cover their surface with acrylic varnish.

You can create the effect of snow like this: mix white paint with semolina (you should get a thick, mushy consistency) and apply with a thin brush to those places on the ball where snow should lie. When the snowball dries, you can decorate it with silver sparkles, which must be applied to the surface previously coated with varnish. With the help of a thread, a loop is made, and the creative process is completed.

Other DIY Christmas Ball Ideas

Among other ways to make Christmas balls with your own hands are:

  • Soft fabric balls. To bring this idea to life, you will need flaps of different sizes. As a base, you can use an old sock, well filled with rags or cotton wool so that a spherical figure is obtained. You can also purchase foam blanks. Decorating balls with flaps is possible both in the form of ruffles and by tightly sewing fabric rectangles to each other to give the toy a “shaggy” appearance. Decorate fabric balls well with buttons of various sizes and shapes.

  • Christmas balls lace. It is also necessary to take foam blanks, which are pasted over with pieces of openwork lace. It can also be tinted to provide a vintage look. Lace can be made independently - knitted with a thin thread and a hook.

  • Toys made of floristic sponge ("oasis"). A ball should be cut out of this material, to which small toys and fir branches should be attached using wire pins. They are suitable for a large and lush Christmas tree.

  • Balls from old CDs. The latter should be cut into small pieces of various shapes and carefully pasted over glass transparent blanks with them. By the same principle, you can decorate balls with beads.

DIY Christmas balls, master classes for their manufacture, reviewed by us, will certainly help you be inspired to create creative designs for Christmas decorations. Create with pleasure, share your experience, replenish the treasury of creative ideas and the best examples of their implementation!

To simplify the workflow, draw median lines directly on the foam ball. In total, you need to make eight lines located at an angle of 45 degrees to each other (photo 3).

Take a piece of fabric and fold it in half, then in half again. Attach the square to the axis of the intersection of the median, pin with a safety pin (photo 4).

Also fold squares of a different color into four parts and pin each ball crosswise to the surface (through one median) (photo 5).

This is followed by a layer of squares that need to be pinned in the same way as the first, but stepping back a little from the center and closing the gaps (missing medians) (photo 6). Continue pinning the fabric squares to the balloon until you cover exactly half the surface of the balloon (Pic 7). It is desirable to make the second half monophonic (photo 8).

On the back side of the surface of the ball, glue a thread of beads with hot glue, twist this element in a spiral (photo 9). While working on the beads, a cobweb of glue may remain - this is not scary. After a few minutes, when the glue is completely dry, the cobweb can be easily removed (photo 10).

New Year's ball of fabric is ready! As you can see, there is nothing complicated in this technique. With great desire and perseverance, you will receive an originally decorated Christmas tree.

New Year's patchwork ball.

To make a New Year's patchwork ball, you will need:

Scraps of fabric;
- foam ball blank (any size);
- pins;
- felt-tip pen / pen;
- tape measure / centimeter;
- glue stick;
- wooden skewer;
- dummy knife, compasses, scissors;
- lace, ribbon, etc. for decorating the ball.

New Year's patchwork ball step by step:

Take a foam ball as a basis, in this case 60 mm in diameter. Using a centimeter, mark the center line on the ball, divide the circumference in half, mark with pins - this will be the lower and upper points of the ball (photo 1). Draw another line through these points using a centimeter, dividing the ball into four even parts (photo 2). By analogy, halve each share of the balloon, so you divide the balloon into eight even shares (Pic 3).

Now draw a transverse line down the center of the ball. To do this, divide each line from the lower and upper points of the ball (where it was marked with pins) in half, and draw a transverse line along the marks (photo 4-5).

Next, take a compass, set it first at the top of the ball, draw a circle, then do the same on the other side (photo 6). As a result, you will get a blank, as in photo 7. Make cuts along all lines (which have been marked) with a clerical knife to a depth of approximately 1-2 cm (photo 8).

You will need two templates, one in the shape of a triangle and the other in the shape of a trapezoid. Draw patterns on paper, adding an allowance of about 7-8 mm. We advise you not to rush and not immediately cut out all the elements. And first, try to cut out one part, and fix it on the ball. It is likely that you will need to adjust the template, increase or decrease the allowance.

In this case, only two types of fabric were used, so 8 triangles and trapeziums were cut out of a plain red fabric and the same number of elements from a fabric with branches (photo 9). To fix small elements, use a glue stick that fixes the fabric parts and prevents them from moving (photo 10).

Then, using a wooden skewer, begin to carefully tuck the excess fabric into the slots, paying due attention to the corners. For convenience, use a large needle with a blunt tip. For large items, a sandwich knife with a rounded tip is suitable (photo 11-12).

By analogy, fill all the details (photo 13). And after a couple of hours, admire the result (photo 14-15). Now it remains only to decorate the ball with ribbons, cords, beads, bells, pompoms, bead caps (photo 16).

Christmas balls from threads.

To create Christmas balls from threads, you will need:

Air balloons
- dense decorative threads or thin multi-colored cords
- PVA glue + a container for glue, in which you will need to make holes
- needle, scissors

Christmas balls from threads step by step:

Take a balloon and inflate it to the right size. Tie up. You can crush the ball a little in your hands to give it a more rounded shape.
Thread the needle with decorative thread and poke through the empty plastic glue bottle. This is best done closer to the bottom of the container.

When the thread passes through, pour PVA glue into the container, which will take quite a lot. It is not advisable to dilute it with water.

When using a thin ribbon, you can soak it completely in glue (Figure 3).

Pull the thread through the container with PVA, soaking it entirely with glue, and wind it around the base ball. When winding the thread, the ball must be turned frequently. When doing this, do not forget that the balloon will later need to be removed, so leave some space in the area of \u200b\u200bthe balloon string.

Upon reaching the desired density of the winding of the ball, cut the thread, leaving a small tail to create a loop (for hanging).

Next, the ball should be left to dry completely for 1-2 days or dried with a hairdryer for about 5-10 minutes. After the glue has completely dried, pierce the balloon with a needle and carefully remove it. It is more convenient to do this through the place of its tie. Make a loop from the remaining tail of the thread, tie it to the ball.

Decorate the resulting ball at your discretion. You can color it, sheathe it with sequins and sequins, or leave it without decor.
The ball is ready!

Christmas ball made of fabric

To create these Christmas balls you will need:

Styrofoam ball with a diameter of about 10 cm
- tailor's needles with a metal cap
- three types of fabrics (three colors).

The process of creating Christmas balls from fabric:

First of all, you will need to cut many squares of fabric. If your ball will be 10 cm in diameter, then cut the fabric into 3-inch squares. Make 8 squares from one fabric and 16 squares from 2 other fabrics.

You can also use two small pieces of the first type of fabric so that the foam ball does not show through the first layers. First we will make one half of the ball.

Pin one of the 2 fabric squares to the center of the ball, it may bulge a little, but in any case, the next layer will completely cover it (Fig. 2).

Then take one square of the first material and fold it 4 times to determine its center (Figure 3). In the center of the square from the inside, you need to prick a pin (Fig. 4). Poke a pin with a fabric square into the foam ball (Figure 5). The fabric again needs to be folded in half, pinning the corners (Figure 5).

It is necessary to pin three more fabric squares to the ball (the first material). The result should be a completely closed tissue top (Fig. 6).

Take the squares from the second fabric and start pinning them onto the ball (Figure 7).

Start with 4 squares, which, as it were, are a continuation of the previous layer. Adjust the spacing between layers as desired. In this case, it is about 1 cm. Use something like a template to keep the same distance for all pieces of fabric.

Fasten four more fabric squares between them, as in Figure 9-10.

You can stop at two layers or make a third layer by analogy with the previous one (Fig. 12).

Next, the ball must be turned over and repeat the above steps with the second half of the ball. However, when placing pieces of fabric on the second side of the ball, it is necessary to take into account the first half, but 100% compliance is not necessary, since the joint will be covered with fabric.

So, excess material at the junction of 2 sides can be cut off. After that, you can close the joint with the material of the second layer, decorate with organza ribbon. Pin one end of the ribbon and sew the other.

You can also make a bow from a ribbon, for which the ball can be hung on a Christmas tree.
Glue or sew, as desired.

Artichoke fabric ball. Master Class.

An excellent master class on creating a completely textile ball with your own hands from scratch.

To create a fabric ball using the artichoke technique, you will need:

Base fabric;
- template paper + pencil;
- needle + thread, sewing machine;
- stuffing (synthetic winterizer / cotton wool).

To decorate the fabric ball:

On the lining are two red squares, 8 beige squares 5 * 5 cm in size, 16 squares of the same size, but of a different color (in this case with green stars), 16 squares of the third color.
- beads for decoration.

Artichoke fabric ball step by step:

1. Creation of a fabric ball - the basis.

Prepare a paper pattern (Figure 1). Transfer to the fabric from the wrong side (Fig. 2). You will need to create 4 petals. Cut out, do not forget to leave a seam allowance (Fig. 3). Sweep the petals together in pairs (Figure 4-5).

Sew on a typewriter on one side (Fig. 6). As a result, you will get "pockets", as in Figure 7. Fold them together with the right side (Figure 8-9).

Sweep or rock with pins. Then we grind (Fig. 10-11). Leave a hole on one edge of each petal through which the future ball will turn out and stuff (Fig. 12-13).

Stuff the balloon with filler, and then sew with a blind seam (Figure 14-15). As a result, you will get a ball, as in Figure 16.

2. Ball decoration:

Take all the squares for decor (in addition to those for the lining), fold in half and iron (Fig. 18).

Squares intended for lining - place in the middle of the ball, and pin with pins so that they do not fidget (Fig. 19).

Then take the ironed beige squares (rectangles) and fold them into triangles (Figure 20-21).

Place such a triangle in the middle of the future fabric ball, as shown in Figure 22 and pin it with pins.

Pin the 4th triangle and get the workpiece, as in Figure 23. Start sewing the corners of the triangles. Sew the opposite corners of some triangles (Figure 24), and then others (Figure 25).

Sew a bead for beauty at the junction (Fig. 26). Bring the needle out under the triangles, as shown in Figure 27. And carefully sew the triangles along the edge to the base of the ball (Figure 28).

As a result, you will get, as in Figure 29. By analogy, do the same with rectangles with asterisks. First, fold them in the form of triangles, and then put them on the ball and pin them with pins. Arrange the triangles in the proper order (Figure 30-31). Sew similarly to the previous steps (Fig. 32-34).

Overlay triangles of the third color (Figure 35-38).

As a result, you will get such a half of the ball (Fig. 39), by analogy, make the second one.

After that, cut strips 5 * 10 cm in size and fold them in such a way as in Figure 41. Iron everything. Attach to the ball and pin with pins (Fig. 42). This must be done in order to decorate the sides of the ball.

Once again, cut strips 5 * 10 cm long and fold them as in Figure 43-44.

Overlay these triangles on top of the previous ones, as in Figure 45. Overlap (Figure 46). Pin everything with pins (Fig. 47) and sew (Fig. 49-50).

A cone in kanzashi technique. Master Class.

To create a cone using the kanzashi technique, you will need:

Satin ribbon about 2.5 cm wide (two colors);
- base ball for ping-pong;
- thread, monofilament or thin fishing line;
- thermal gun;
- tweezers;
- a bead or fastening to Christmas tree decorations.

Kanzashi cone step by step:

Initially, cut squares of ribbons of two colors with a side of 2.5 cm and fold them in half into triangular modules (photo

1). One fabric square needs to be fixed on a ping-pong ball, gluing the center and edges well (photo 2). The base ball must be placed on a small jar, for example, from under the cream - so it will not roll on the work surface.

Fold the triangular pieces in half again (Pic 3). Then make the first row - glue four modules at once on the surface of the ball so that it looks like a square (photo 4). Subsequent rows should consist of 2 parts, four modules each.

Glue the second row of modules. Glue the first part of the four modules between the details of the first row (photo 5). And glue the second part between the details of the first part so that the lower part of both parts of the second row is on the same level (photo 6).

Also glue all subsequent rows, alternating the colors of the modules (photo 7-8).

After gluing the penultimate row of modules, glue a piece of satin ribbon, hiding the surface of the ball (as well as at the beginning of the workflow) (photo 9-10). Next, glue the last row of modules (photo 11-12).

An almost finished kanzashi cone needs to be decorated, starting from the top of the Christmas tree toy. Why collect a satin ribbon on a thread and pull it off, forming such a bow (photo 13). Hide the middle of the bow by gluing a Christmas ball holder to it (Pic 14).

The kanzashi cone is ready to decorate the Christmas tree.

Christmas tree ball in kanzashi technique.

To make a ball for a Christmas tree you will need:

Satin ribbon with a width of 2.5 centimeters of the main color (about 2.7 m) + ribbon for spirals (about 1.1 m);
- a ping-pong ball;
- wire, awl;
- decor: sequins, beads, pin, string for hanging;
- thermal gun and all other tools for kanzashestroeniya.

Christmas tree ball in quillig technique step by step:

The base will remain inside the Christmas decoration, so inexpensive ping-pong balls, which are very light, are best suited. The ball tolerates hot glue well, so there is no need to wrap anything and you can glue the "petals" directly on it.

You will also need to securely attach a ribbon for hanging. Of course, you can just glue the bead, but you can also fix it more securely, for which approximately outline the middle on both sides and pierce it through with an awl (photo 1). Then fix the wire with a fixed bead (photo 2). Try on the top (photo 3).

Glue a sequin or other decoration, form the top (photo 5). And start gluing the petals.

1st row: 2 white, 2 red, 2 white, 2 red
2nd row: 1 white, 3 red, 1 white, 3 red
3rd row: increase, glue 2 petals. 2 white, 6 red, 2 white, 6 red

Continue like this without increasing the amount.

In photo 10, it is noticeable that the petals are starting to “crowd” too much, it is clearly necessary to reduce to the original 8 petals. And the last row is also 8. It took 144 petals to make this ball.

You can, of course, take not 8, but 10 petals in the first row, and then the ball will turn out to be more magnificent, since the petals will be attached in a more dense way.

New Year's toys from sequins and beads.

To make Christmas toys you will need:

Styrofoam ball (about 6 cm in diameter);
- sequins and beads;
- needles with pearls.

New Year's toys from sequins and beads step by step:

Sequins on a foam base can be mounted in a chaotic manner using accessories of various colors. So, take a sequin and put it on a needle with a pearl. You can also fasten several sequins of different shapes at once. For example, first put a blue sequin in the shape of a snowflake on the needle, and blue and / or purple on top.

Start gently sticking the needle into the foam ball, trying to fill its entire surface without gaps. You can go with one sequin on another, but in this case you need to make sure that all the sequins are located at an equal distance from each other.

New Year's toys from sequins and beads are ready!

DIY unbreakable Christmas balls

To create unbreakable toys you will need:

Mouline threads of different colors + needle
- a foam ball, you can cut it out of foam yourself or make it from foil, newspapers, tightly tied with threads. You can use different materials, just make sure that the balls do not turn out too heavy.
- all kinds of decor (you can even use ready-made New Year's applications)

Unbreakable Christmas balls step by step:

The first thing you need to do is wrap the thread around a round blank, for which you take it and start wrapping it crosswise several times. You need to wrap it tightly enough. At the end, fix the end of the thread to prevent unraveling.

Now let's start decorating the ball (here everything will depend on your imagination and the presence of jewelry). If you know how and love to embroider, then you can embroider all kinds of New Year's ornaments. You can also sew a suitable applique to the toy, decorate with beads, beads, fabric flowers.

At the end, do not forget to make a holder for the finished Christmas toy in the form of a rope, for which the ball will be hung on the Christmas tree.

Sweet Christmas balls. Master Class.

To create Christmas balls you will need:

Chocolate glaze;
- Balloons;
- kandurin;
- soft wide brush;
- paper for baking;
- mastic / marzipan;
- wire;
- colander.

Sweet Christmas balls step by step:

Fill a balloon with water, tie it up and send it to the freezer for 24 hours. Melt the chocolate icing and fill it with a bag made of baking paper. Remove the ball from the freezer and remove it from the ice ball formed from the water in the freezer.

Place an ice ball on a sheet of baking paper and paint the ball on all sides with chocolate icing. The icing that accidentally fell not on the surface of the ball, but on the baking paper, after hardening, remove from the paper and reuse.

While the ice will melt and flow through the holes in the chocolate painting - prepare the top for the balls. Twist a loop from the wire, and blind the top from mastic or marzipan. Cover everything with silver / gold kandurin. Connect the top to the ball with melted chocolate.

Note: for pearl and silver balls we recommend using white chocolate icing.

New Year's openwork paper balls.

We suggest you make such bright, openwork Christmas balls for the New Year that will perfectly fit into the interior or help you decorate the Christmas tree.

To create openwork Christmas balls you will need:

Sheets of thick colored paper A4;
- a knife for artistic cutting;
- needle and thread;
- glue, scissors;
- beads for decoration;
- template (presented at the end of the article).

The process of creating Christmas paper balls:

First of all, you will need to print the templates on paper. If desired, you can proportionally resize the template.

Next, start cutting out patterns with a craft knife. Part of the paper with a pattern can be covered with a sheet of paper in order not to accidentally overwrite the circuit during operation (Fig. 2-4). After cutting the pattern, start cutting out the ball sweep along the contour (Fig. 5).

Now you need to give each part of the cut out diagram a rounded shape, for which you can use a round pencil (Figure 6-7).

Then pierce holes on both sides at the end of each petal (Figure 8).

Roll the cut paper into a ball and glue the edges of the scan (Figure 9).

It remains to make a loop from the thread - and the New Year's ball is ready for hanging.

Christmas ball made of fabric and foam.

To create these Christmas balls you will need:

Styrofoam ball with a diameter of about 7-8 cm;
- satin fabric or other optional;
- braid or ribbon, decorative beads;
- glue gun;
- scissors, knife.

Christmas ball made of fabric and foam plastic step by step:

First of all, mark the ball. Why take a thread, wrap it around and tighten it so that a small groove forms on the ball for further work. The ball can be divided into any number of parts - 4, 6, 8, etc. In this case, it was divided into 4 parts. You can draw lines with a pencil, for convenience.

Next, using a knife / scalpel, make cuts along the marked lines, about 7-8 mm deep. This should be done quite carefully so that the ball does not fall apart in the hands, especially with its small diameter (less than 6 cm).

Cut a petal out of the fabric larger than the pieces on the styrofoam ball and begin to tuck the edge of the satin fabric in in a neat manner. First insert to a depth of about 3-5 mm. After you go around the entire contour, cut off the excess fabric and hide the edges. Thus, cover the entire surface of the ball slice by slice.

Then start decorating. Tuck the ends of the beads inside the balloon. Secure the loop with a drop of hot glue. From glue like "Moment" the foam may begin to melt. Pull the beads tightly so that they do not hang out when finished. And also with the second half of the beads.

Cut the loop of the desired length, drip glue, insert the ponytails, press.

New Year's ball made of fabric and foam is ready!

You can tie a bow, draw snowflakes or glue on sequins!

Such a ball will be a great gift for the New Year!

Decoupage Christmas balls.

To decoupage Christmas balls you will need:

Plastic balls with a diameter of 8 cm;
- three-layer napkins with a pattern;
- acrylic paints of different colors: white, blue, yellow + brush;
- PVA glue;
- acrylic lacquer;
- a little semolina;
- sequins;
- contours on ceramics and glass;
- a piece of sponge for washing dishes;
- plastic board for modeling.

Decoupage Christmas balls step by step:

You can purchase simple balloons without a pattern in any colors (gold, purple, silver, matte or glossy.

Take a ball and a piece of sponge, put a little white paint on the board, blot it into the paint with a sponge and apply it with dotted movements to the ball. Make sure that there is always paint on the sponge, then on the ball you will get the effect of a snow coating.

Paint all the balls in this way, hang them to dry for about an hour.

At this time, prepare napkins. To do this, separate the top bright layer from the white. Carefully cut out the pattern.

Dilute the PVA with water by half and glue the pattern to the ball. Start gluing from the center of the picture, gradually moving towards the edges. Do this action with all motives.

For the bunny balloons, make a light yellow paint and apply it with “bang” movements around the motif on a white background.

After the paint dries, cover the ball with varnish.

Next, we will create a winter effect, for which we take a small amount of white paint and mix it with semolina until a thick porridge is obtained. Using a thin brush, apply to the ball in those places where we will have snow.

Let dry. After that, take varnish and small silver sparkles, and cover the semblance of "snow" first with varnish, and then apply sparkles.

Wool Christmas ball.

In this master class you will see the process of making New Year's woolen balls. The process is quite simple and does not require you to master the skills in felting wool.

At first glance, it may seem that it is very difficult to learn how to felt felt toys. But such beautiful things can be done without certain skills and special tools. However, in this case, you still need to purchase wool from a craft store, and then you can make exactly such a wool Christmas ball. Children will be delighted with such balls - they can be removed from the branches and played with snowballs right in the apartment!

To make wool Christmas balls you will need:

Wool for felting of different colors;
- synthetic winterizer (another filler ");
- sewing needle + thread, scissors;
- pins with pearls;
- kapron stocking;
- decor at will: beads, sequins.

Wool Christmas ball step by step:

Form a ball from a synthetic winterizer, tie it with threads so that it keeps its shape. Then evenly wrap the synthetic winterizer blank with colored wool for felting, fix it with a felting needle or with ordinary pins.

After you completely wrap the ball with wool, put it in a nylon stocking and tie a knot. All you need is to wash the workpiece in hot water (in the washing machine) on the “boil mode” and wring it out at maximum speed. Then remove the ball from the stocking and dry it.

Start decorating - mark the future drawing with pins. Decorate the ball with woolen threads, fixing them with pins with "pearls", thereby laying out the desired pattern. Fix the resulting decor with sewing threads, while decorating the ball with beads and sequins in the places where the pattern is fixed.

Attach a loop of beads on top of the Christmas ball and you can hang it on the Christmas tree.
Happy Holidays!

Painting a glass ball on a Christmas tree.

To paint the ball you need:

Glass bowl;
- contour on glass and ceramics;
- lacquer-based stained glass paint (here from Hobby Line);
- paint to create pearls (here from Viva Dekor);
- thin synthetic round brushes number 1 or 2 (ideally, each color has its own brush);
- the most inexpensive nail polish remover (acetone);
- cotton pads, rag.

Painting a glass ball on a Christmas tree step by step:

First, think about what you will depict on the ball. Here, elements of lace served as inspiration (photo 2). Draw the pattern with a silver outline. You can first draw a schematic drawing with a washable marker and make sure that the outline is located next to the line, and not on it. During painting, the ball can be placed on a mug or glass - this way it will be fixed and will not turn over (photo 3). Since the ball is round, first paint one part and let it dry (so you don’t accidentally overlap the drawing in the process) (photo 4).

After you have painted the entire surface of the ball and let it dry completely, proceed directly to painting. For this ball, white and blue stained glass lacquer paints were used. For the third color, they were mixed together in a lid (photo 5). Gently drop the paint on a fragment of the picture and stretch it to the edges. The advantages of lacquer paints include - quick drying and the complete absence of air bubbles on the surface, which is quite important when painting small elements (photo 6). Let the paint dry before you start painting the adjacent element so that the paints do not mix (photo 7).

Slowly paint the entire surface of the glass ball. Let it dry by hanging somewhere, just first make sure that the paint does not flow (photo 9). Decorate the balloon with paint to create pearls (Pic 10). Put drops of different sizes where you want. Let dry.

Clean the paint brushes with nail polish remover and cotton pads. By changing the color of the outline and paints, you can paint a couple more balls.

Christmas ball decoration with polymer clay.

To create such a ball you will need:

Clay of two colors (in this case, red + white);
- glass ball;
- two 18-inch planks about 2x4 long;
- extruder;
- waxed paper;
- glue;
- rope / ribbon for hanging.

We decorate the Christmas ball with polymer clay step by step:

Drill a hole in the top of the bar, which should be slightly larger than your extruder. Fasten the two strips and attach with a connecting loop. Next, you need to close the slats and create a shallow hole in the bottom slat in the same place. This way you will prevent the piston from slipping. To use this design, simply insert an extruder with clay into it.

Then put together two pieces of clay of different colors and wrap them in wax paper, the ends of which should be slightly longer than the “sausages” (Figure 8-9).

Now, with the help of an extruder, you need to extrude two-color clay stripes (Fig. 10). Then clean the piston from the extruder and proceed to the next step (Figure 11).

Take one of the thin strips you made and lay it out on your work surface. Cut off one end and begin to twist into a spiral (Figure 13).

Then place the twisted helix of clay at the bottom center of the glass ball and gradually start winding this strip around the ball in a spiral (Figure 13-14). Use glue to hold the clay on the surface of the ball. When you cover half of the ball, carefully cut off the end of the "sausage".

It's easier to work with the clay when it's not raw, so hang the ball on a wooden stick or toothpick and place the ball in a glass container and bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 265F. After the ball has cooled, pull out its iron top-mount and continue wrapping it with clay.

Continue until the surface of the ball is completely covered with clay. Try to connect the "clay sausage" as clearly and evenly as possible. Then replace the iron ball mount and bake for 30 minutes.

Decorate the finished ball with a beautiful bow!
