We decided to recall ten games adored by everyone, the continuation of which will never be born.

1 Alien: Isolation

Atmospheric horror that makes you take bricks out of your pants almost every half hour. And this effect is achieved not due to cheap screamers. Confronting the Alien on the Sevastopol space station is interesting, and Amanda Ripley knows how to defend herself. That's just the story turned out to be complete and does not provide for continuation. Developers from Creative Assembly were able to perform well in an unfamiliar genre, but returned to the production of strategies in the Total War series. It is unlikely that we will see the continuation of Alien: Isolation, given the fact that the game did not turn out to be financially successful.

2. Okami

An amazing adventure that tells about Japanese mythology with an exciting gameplay. Okami has revolutionary gameplay mechanics, the project was liked by critics and users. 4 Spec Ops: The Line

7 Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

A good experiment with a series that has always been in the genre of tactical strategies and RTS. The appearance of a shooter with slasher mechanics attracted the attention of many fans. Space Marine lacked variety, but it's fun to chop up enemies and the story doesn't disappoint. The finale of the story turned out to be open, but the rights to the series have sunk into oblivion. After the bankruptcy of THQ, its successor in the person of THQ Nordic managed to restore some of the intellectual property. But Space Marine doesn't seem to be one of them, after all, nothing has been heard about the sequel for eight years.

8. Sleeping Dogs

Needless to say, Sleeping Dogs is a GTA clone. It's the same sandbox concept, but the differences are instantly visible. In the creation of the United Front Games studio, there is a bias in Asian style, realistic melee battles, and the plot takes the topic of confrontation between police and gangs very seriously. However, the game was indeed accepted as another clone of GTA. The project failed in sales, and Hitman: Absolution then let Square Enix publisher down. In general, it was decided to forget about Sleeping Dogs, although the film of the same name based on the game is still to be released.

9 Vanquish

The game turned out to be quite good, although it grew on the basis of Bayonetta. The bias in the project is made exclusively on dynamic battles that do not have time to get bored due to the short duration of Vanquish. But the fans went through it at all levels of difficulty and were eager to continue. Alas, the project came out at a time when Platinum Games experienced great financial difficulties. The fate of the copyright on Vanquish is currently unknown, it is possible that they remained with the Sega publishing house. Fortunately, the developers were saved from bankruptcy thanks to Nier: Automata, but the game from the list will remain a relic of history.

10. Shadow of the Colossus

The game recently got a great remake that allows you to touch the classics without suffering from the camera, controls and outdated graphics. The remake was handled by Bluepoint Games, and this studio could, with proper funding, make a sequel. But such a large-scale project requires incredible elaboration. The sequel to the cult classic should bring something new to the gameplay, develop the open ending of the original, have its own feature, for example, giants that command the elements. The project is too risky, and the reaction may turn out to be ambiguous, so we are content with a remake.

Sometimes such troubles occur, due to which they can freeze the project, even if the development lasted for years and a lot of effort was spent. I would like to talk about such games in this article.

Star Wars 1313

All Star Wars fans were waiting for it, but alas, in 2013, Disney bought out Lucasfilm and froze the development of the game. It was supposed to be a first-person shooter about Boba Fett. As a result, we got Star Wars: Battlefront (2015), and Star Wars 1313 never decided to finish.

Fallout 3: Van Buren
