DIY money envelope

Money is considered a good gift for newlyweds. At the beginning of their life together, young people will have to spend a lot of money to improve their everyday life and organize a wedding celebration. Of course, you can find many envelopes for money on the shelves of supermarkets and bookstores, but it is better to make such a congratulatory element yourself. The envelope may consist of a greeting card and cash. This envelope can be made using scrapbooking paper, beads, lace and other decorative elements.

So, To make a money envelope you will need:

  • Double-sided paper with a pattern for scrapbooking.
  • Cutting and mat.
  • Organza or satin ribbon.
  • Stationery knife.
  • Glue.
  • Scotch.
  • Various decorations.

Work progress:

With such a beautiful card given for a wedding or anniversary, your gift will definitely not go unnoticed.

The theme week “Purple” is taking place at the Masters Fair. I decided to take part in it. And we have prepared a master class for you.

The card will be a wonderful holiday gift and will make a wonderful impression. And in the future it can be inserted into a frame and it will delight you for more than one day.

We will need:

  1. Quilling paper (2 mm - yellow).
  2. Quilling paper (3 mm - three shades of purple).
  3. Quilling paper (3 mm - green).
  4. PVA glue.
  5. Scissors.
  6. Quilling tool.
  7. Thick paper - (white and purple). You can take pastel paper.
  8. Double sided tape.

Let's get started:

1. Curl the flower petals.

For the petals we take quilling strips 3 mm wide in purple (three shades).

Take the strip and use an awl to make 1-2 turns. We remove the awl and get a strip with a curled end, it is already ready to start twisting itself.

Then we begin to twist the strip into a roll with our hands.

When the roll is rolled, carefully let it unwind, holding the shape with the thumb and forefinger of your right hand. Then with two fingers of the left hand, index and thumb, we pull the middle to the side. On the opposite side, squeeze the spiral with two fingers of your right hand. Then you need to compress along the entire length.

Apply PVA glue to the end of the strip and glue it. We get this “droplet” module.

We twist the required number of “droplet” modules. We need to twist 3 “droplets” of dark purple, 3 “droplets” of light purple and 3 “droplets” of purple onto one flower. Total: we will need 9 “droplets” for one flower. We will have three flowers on the card, which means we need to make 27 “droplet” modules.

2. We twist the centers of the flowers.

For the middle we take quilling strips 2 mm wide, yellow. Glue the two strips together.

Take the strip and use an awl to make 1-2 turns. We remove the awl and get a strip with a wrapped end and begin to twist the strip into a tight roll with our hands.

When the strip is twisted into a tight roll, apply glue to the edge of the strips and fix it.

And so we twist the three middles.

3. Collection of flowers.

We collect flowers from the petals. We alternate colors. If we like everything, we begin to glue the petals. We pull the petal out of the flower, coat the sharp part of the “droplet” with glue on both sides and insert it back. It turns out that other petals are glued to this petal on both sides. And so we alternate.

When all the flowers are glued, glue the middle.

Here are our flowers ready.

4. Blank for a postcard.

Cut out two rectangles from pastel paper. The first rectangle is made of white pastel paper - size 29.0 * 14.5 cm. The second rectangle is made of purple pastel paper - size 30.0 * 15.0 cm. Fold each rectangle in half.

Glue double-sided tape to the inside of the white base of the card. Glue the purple part on top. We get a blank for a future postcard.

Draw a barely noticeable circle with a diameter of 9 cm on the top of the card.

Apply glue from the bottom of the flower and glue it, evenly distributing the flowers around the circumference.

5. We twist and collect the leaves.

For the leaves we take quilling strips 3 mm wide, green. Cut the strips in half. We twist the leaves in the same way as the petals for a flower (see above).

When we have screwed on a sufficient number of “droplet” modules, we proceed to assembling the leaves. Fold the green strip in half and glue it with glue. When the stem is dry, we begin gluing the “droplet” modules on both sides. We will get a leaf.

We need to collect three of these leaves.

Let's move on to the final point. We cut off three green strips 4 cm long. Apply glue to the edge of the strip and glue it along the contour of the circle. So we glue all the branches to the flowers.

Glue the leaves to the stems.

There is some space left between the flowers; if you like, you can leave it that way. And I wanted to fill this empty space. From the green stripes we twist loose spirals “curls” 6-8 pcs.

Apply glue to the edge of the “curls” and glue it, filling the empty space.

And now the postcard is ready. Congratulate your friends and family beautifully!

I wish you good luck and creative success!

Handmade crafts are priceless, because they are made with love, they contain a piece of the master’s soul. That is why many of us strive to present our family and friends with handmade cards, souvenirs and gifts rather than purchased ones for any holiday. The quilling technique is an excellent assistant in this matter. >>

Works using the quilling technique are distinguished by their grace and beauty. They can be either flat or three-dimensional, which makes the composition “alive” in its own way. A postcard made using the quilling technique for your wedding day will help you make sure of this. In practice, you can see that you can do this kind of work yourself in a few hours. But this particular card will bring maximum pleasure to its owners, warming them with the warmth and love of your work.

To work you will need:

  • Colored double-sided cardboard (yellow and pink)
  • Quilling strips (3 and 10 mm wide)
  • Quilling tool (can be replaced with an orange stick)
  • Scissors, regular and curly
  • PVA glue and stationery glue with glitter
  • Congratulatory speech transferred via printer to paper

Making a postcard:
First you need to decide on the shape of the postcard. In our case it will be rectangular. Therefore, we take yellow cardboard as a basis and fold it in half in the center of the sheet. We cut out a square from pink cardboard and paste it directly in the center of the front of the future postcard.

Using a blue quilling strip 10 mm wide, we go over it (right in the middle) with curly scissors. In this case we get 2 identical curly stripes. Glue them along the edges of the pink canvas - top and bottom.

We print out the inscription “Happy Wedding Day” on white paper, cut it out with curly scissors and glue it onto yellow cardboard. We cut it out again, leaving a yellow edging around the inscription, and glue it onto the pink canvas. We place the future postcard under a press (you can put it in a thick, heavy book) so that the glue dries well and the card does not become deformed.

Now let's move on to quilling. We roll loose rolls with a diameter of 15 mm from strips of yellow and pale light green flowers. We glue the edges. Number of yellow rolls - 6 pcs. (give them the shape of a drop), green - 6 pcs. (drops) and 12 (crescent shape).

We roll roses from strips 10 mm wide: we begin to wind the roll onto the tool as usual. Then, after twisting 10-15 mm from the edge, bend the free strip at an angle of 90 degrees and continue twisting. Using the same pattern, we twist the rosette to the required size, and glue the edge, preventing it from unraveling. We twist roses of different colors and different sizes.

From the crescent rolls we begin to form flower petals 6, glue them together in pairs, getting 8 petals.

Glue the petals onto the card sheet and place the rose in the center.

Next to the complex flower we place a simple one: we glue drop rolls onto the canvas.

Using the same pattern, glue all the details of the postcard.

From rich green strips 3 mm wide, we twist loose rolls with a diameter of 20 mm and give them the shape of an eye.

Glue these eyes onto the postcard canvas, imitating leaves.

Apply glitter glue to matching card elements.

On the spread of the card we place a congratulatory speech, printed on pink cardboard and cut out with curly scissors.

Don’t forget to carefully glue it and press it with a press so that the paper does not deform.

Let the card dry thoroughly, after which you can safely present it as a gift.

Happy creativity!

Nowadays you won’t find any kind of postcards in stores, especially when it comes to weddings!

There are also festive cards on sale, with flowers, wedding rings, and humorous ones, with funny drawings and inscriptions, sometimes quite bold.

However, at all times, handmade gifts and cards were considered the most valuable.

Several ideas for designing invitations

Usually the bride and her bridesmaids prepare wedding invitations.

Nowadays it is fashionable to organize themed wedding ceremonies that correspond to any style, for example, Provence, rustic, Tiffany.

For Wedding rustic style Invitations written on artificially aged thick paper or designer paper that imitates the structure of wood are suitable.

The invitation itself must be handwritten. The simplest way to design an invitation is to cut off the corners of the sheet with curly scissors, and then, using a curly hole punch, punch air patterns along the edges.

You can do it even simpler: glue beige lace, similar to homemade, or a lace ribbon with fringe to the edge of the card, allowing the fringe to hang freely.

Applications made from straw will look even more original.

You can also decorate the postcard with a “seal” in the spirit of medieval messages: punch a small hole at the bottom of the sheet, thread a dark golden lurex thread into it, and attach an acorn or hazelnut to the end of it.

For a wedding in more classic style The card can be decorated with lace or satin ribbons. Decorations for postcards made using the technique look quite interesting quilling. Quilling is the art of creating appliques using thin strips of colored paper rolled into rolls.

Flowers glued together from such rolls are very beautiful: pink or blue “petals” flattened on one side (a “drop” shape), green oblong “leaves” (an “eye” shape), round yellow “centers”.

Using the quilling technique, you can create two swans with their beaks touching: make the “torso” from teardrop-shaped rolls, glue two beautifully curved necks in the shape of a heart, and write the invitation itself in the “heart.” Above such a picture you can glue a crown cut out of gold foil.

Naturally, you need to write the invitation in calligraphic, but as old-fashioned handwriting as possible: elaborate, with a lot of curls.

Look beautiful on homemade cards and artificial flowers on fabric or paper basis. The centers of the flowers can be decorated with pearls or rhinestones.

A homemade envelope for a postcard does not have to be paper: a beautiful fabric bag tied with a satin ribbon will do. The color of the bag can be any, but soft, pastel colors are preferable: pink, lavender, lilac.
For a Tiffany style wedding, the bag must be turquoise.

It is considered a rule of good manners if the invitation is in the same style as the entire wedding.

DIY wedding cards for newlyweds

When creating a wedding congratulations card with your own hands, you should fully demonstrate your design talents.

Usually such cards are made folding: on the cover there is a drawing or appliqué (you can supplement them with a short wish, for example, “Congratulations!” or “Happy Wedding Day!”), and inside there is a detailed wish, often in poetic form. One of the parts of the postcard is folded inward in the form of a wallet, in which you need to invest money.

Artificial flowers made from satin ribbons look beautiful. The folded colored ribbon resembles a rose. The center of an artificial flower can be fixed with a bead, pearl or rhinestone. Flower arrangements can also be created from beads strung on threads.

To decorate the outside of a homemade postcard, simple cross stitch on canvas is also suitable.

A non-standard “envelope” for a postcard has chest view. It is easy to make from cardboard: cut out the sides, bottom and lid, make holes in them with an awl or gypsy needle, sew them, seal the seams with decorative tape, decorate the front and lid with an applique of satin ribbons.

Rich, rich colors will look good on white cardboard: red, blue, green. You can put money and a postcard in such a chest. A larger chest will easily solve the eternal problem that arises at weddings: it is very convenient to put all the invitations and donated money into it.

DIY wedding anniversary cards

The type of wedding anniversary greeting card depends on what anniversary you are going to congratulate the heroes of the occasion on.

If we are talking about young people, then the card should be gentle, romantic, a little frivolous. Artificial flowers, satin ribbons, and lace in pastel colors are suitable. The applique can be supplemented with pearls, rhinestones, and feathers.

A wedding celebration is an event that everyone looks forward to: the newlyweds themselves, their relatives and friends. Relatives of newlyweds, as a rule, spend a lot of time choosing a gift, a holiday bouquet and a postcard where they write wishes to the newlyweds. Not a single congratulation is complete without the last thing, and therefore the invited people always go to specialized stores in search of it. An alternative to this is making an original postcard with your own hands. Let's figure out how to make a greeting card yourself.

How to make a beautiful wedding card with your own hands?

If you decide to make a card for the newlyweds with your own hands, there is no doubt that it will be treasured by the newlyweds, because such gifts are valued much more than purchased ones. Thick paper or cardboard is used as its base and decorated using a variety of techniques - scrapbooking, quilling. Decorate a wedding card with rhinestones, beads, ribbons, lace, dried or artificial flowers, drawings, patterns. The master classes below will help you create an original product that the heroes of the occasion will love.

Greeting card using quilling technique

Quilling or “paper rolling” is a technique used in many areas of needlework. Craftsmen create greeting cards by folding and rolling narrow strips of paper. They are also used to make photo frames, albums, jewelry, and paintings. Necessary materials

  • A sheet of thick white paper (or another light shade).
  • Sheets of thin paper that will be needed for rolling the “rolls”. You can use special quilling kits, which include the original material, already cut into thin strips. In this case, the postcard making process will go much faster.
  • Scrapbooking paper with patterns or designs that match the color.
  • Satin ribbons.
  • Beads pre-cut into halves.
  • Pencil.
  • Scissors.
  • Ruler.
  • Stationery or other knife.
  • Paper rolling tool. This part can be replaced by toothpicks, matches, and empty ballpoint pens.
