Dye the fabric orange. Black paint for clothes, painting steps

Things lose their attractive appearance over time. The reason is non-compliance with the rules of care and the influence of external factors. It is impractical to throw away good clothes just because they have become less bright. It is enough to show a little imagination and creativity to make the colors shine in a new way. The chemical industry offers a wide range of aniline dyes. However, it is possible to dye the fabric at home using available means.

First of all, you should compare the real possibilities and the desired result. Not all types of fabrics can be self-dyed. It is easier to process natural and mixed fabrics: cotton, linen, woolen, silk. Synthetics cannot be qualitatively restored at home. Its fibers are not able to absorb aniline coloring components. The color will probably change, but after the first wash, the thing will shed.

Synthetic fibers are dyed with special dyes using a special technology. The only way out of the situation is to go to the dry cleaners.

How to choose a dye

In free sale, the choice of coloring compositions is extensive. Distinguish between powder, crystalline, liquid and in the form of a paste. The impact of chemistry gives a lasting result, provided that the procedure is carried out competently. If there is any doubt about obtaining a positive result, it is better to use natural coloring agents. Let them be less intense, but environmentally friendly and safe for health.

Variants of natural dyes for fabric:

  • They give a brown tint to light canvases: tobacco, onion peel, weak coffee or tea, oak bark, henna, basma, cinnamon.
  • Green color is obtained with the help of: spinach, bird cherry, juniper berries, sorrel, elderberry leaves.
  • Strong natural coffee blackens well.
  • Red: elderberry, beetroot, blueberry, wolfberry.
  • Blue gamma: red cabbage, blackberry, sage, Ivan da Marya inflorescences, quinoa seed.
  • Orange: turmeric, apple bark, celandine, sea buckthorn.
  • Yellow: zira, turmeric, wormwood, fresh carrots, nettle roots, poplar buds, orange peel, birch bark and leaves.

You need to select a dye depending on the degree of restoration, the original color and type of fabric.. The material is determined by separately pulled out and set on fire fibers. Rayon, cotton and linen are highly flammable. Wool and natural silk begin to smolder.

It is important to consider the purpose of home restoration. Heavily washed and burnt items need a greater concentration of coloring matter than white ones. In the latter case, it is enough to take a natural or chemical dye in a small amount, so that everything works out the first time. Sometimes you need to repeat the procedure again. So, even a white T-shirt will not immediately turn black.

Rules for coloring products

Before you start, you should read some tips for coloring:

  1. Products are pre-cleaned from persistent stains. If necessary, use a stain remover, the remnants of which are removed by washing and ironing - otherwise it will not be possible to evenly dye the fabric. If the dirt does not lend itself, resort to dark tones. Light dyes will not be able to hide stains on the surface. Remove buttons and metal jewelry.
  2. Before dyeing, things are boiled in soda water. For silk, ammonia is added - 0.5–0.7 g per liter of water.
  3. An enameled or refractory container is suitable. Stir with a wooden or plastic long stick.
  4. It is recommended to place the fabric in a solution of alum before and after dyeing to fix the final result. Such a technique is called mordant. Ideal: any alum, copper or zinc sulphate, table vinegar, sauerkraut brine, formic acid. Dressing recipe: 2–10 g of the substance is taken per liter of water. The product is weighed to understand the consumption of the mordant. For every 100 g of tissue, at least three liters of solution will be needed. Boil for at least 30 minutes, after which the product is removed, and immersed in the dye without wringing.
  5. The duration of dyeing depends on the type of fabric, the desired color saturation, the amount of additives in the liquid composition and temperature. Wool and silk give in faster and easier. The solution is boiled intensively for 50–60 minutes, at the end vinegar is poured in. For viscose, linen and cotton, too hot water is not suitable - it slows down the dyeing process and increases the time. The optimum temperature is not higher than 85 °C. To fix the paint at the end, add 1-2 tbsp. tablespoons of table salt.
  6. The color will be distributed evenly if the ratio of the weight of the fabric and the dye solution is observed in a ratio of 1:20. For dyeing jeans and linen, a little calcined salt is first poured into the paint, and then dissolved. Bright stains on the surface are obtained by twisting the fabric into a tourniquet and fixing it.
  7. Fix the dye with vinegar or salt so that the products do not fade in the future. They are added to cold water when rinsing at the end of the procedure.
  8. After painting, things are immediately hung. Otherwise, stains and streaks will form.
  9. It is important to test the product on a separate piece of fabric before dyeing.
  10. The use of rubber gloves will eliminate the risk of damage to the skin of the hands. Open windows for ventilation before starting work.

Do not worry if the product looks darker than intended when wet. After drying, everything will be back to normal. Uneven color is leveled by immersion in hot water with washing powder. To prevent clothes from burning, it is recommended to place a wooden board at the bottom. Woolen things are not dried in a suspended state, but laid out on a horizontal surface. The dishes in which they painted can not be used for cooking in the future.

As you can see, the home color restoration process is complicated. It requires extreme caution and adherence to exact proportions. It is necessary to take into account the presence of an allergic reaction to the natural and chemical components used.

In order for the painted thing to please with a beautiful appearance for a long time, do not forget about further care. Direct exposure to sunlight during drying is unacceptable - this leads to burnout. The first few times after dyeing, things are washed separately with a powder for colored fabrics, and vinegar is added when rinsing.

Frequent washing, the sun's rays can change the color of the fabric, making it faded, worn out. Coloring things can solve the problem. What do you need to know before taking such a step?

Painting at home is always combined with a certain risk - you can get a color that is not quite the right one, or you can even ruin your clothes. Therefore, before proceeding, conduct an experiment on a small piece of tissue, of course, if one is available. Having seen and evaluated the preliminary result, it is time to make a decision. Fabric composition often determines the success or failure of dyeing. Natural fabrics are usually well dyed, with mixed types - the color will be several tones lighter than on the paint package. But it is advisable not to experiment with synthetics. In the best case, the fabric will remain the original color, in the worst case, it will be painted unevenly, with ugly spots. It is desirable to choose a color a few tones darker than the original. If the colors are close in tone, then the result will be better. But when, for example, white jeans are dyed black, it turns out gray, dark gray, but not black at all. The result of staining will be visible only after the thing dries. Wet fabric always looks a few shades darker. Before painting, the thing must be washed. If this is not done, then all contaminated places will be painted unevenly, forming peculiar stains. Before preparing the solution, weigh the product and calculate the required amount of paint. Most often, a standard powder package is designed for 400 g of fabric. Carefully study the instruction and punctually follow all its requirements. The contents of the package are diluted in a small amount of water, filtered through gauze, and only then the rest is added, bringing to the desired volume. If the paint is in the form of a liquid, then there is no need for straining. The washed fabric is placed in a 40-degree solution and left for 20-30 minutes. From time to time it is necessary to turn the material over to achieve uniform coloring. After a certain time, the material is rinsed in warm water several times until clear water is obtained. During the last rinse, it is recommended to add half a glass of vinegar to better fix the paint. All procedures are carried out only with gloves. A washing machine can greatly facilitate the dyeing process. The diluted paint is immediately poured into the drum, the dyeing temperature is higher here - from 60 to 80 degrees, the longest washing cycle with an additional rinse is chosen. Water with vinegar will have to rinse separately. After finishing painting, you need to turn on the rinse again to clean the machine. But even after that, it is not recommended to immediately wash white things, as a certain amount of paint may remain and slightly change the color of things. After painting, things require special care. One or two washings, they should be washed separately from the rest of the clothes, as there may be a slight release of paint into the water. When rinsing, it is advisable to add vinegar and do not dry in direct sunlight to avoid fading. For dyed items, use a powder designed for washing colored fabrics.

You can also dye things in specialized places where they guarantee quality and are responsible for the result. If you decide to paint at home, then to achieve the optimal result, follow all of the above conditions.

Instruction

Using a brush, apply it is necessary to apply the paint to the entire length of the hair extensions. It is important to remember that you can not apply paint to the capsule (the place where the extended hair). Under the influence of paint, the capsule may collapse.

note

Be sure to consult with an experienced specialist about which paint is better to take and how to dye hair extensions at home. Remember that if you have a salon hair extension warranty, dyeing your hair extensions at home will void it, so the best option is to go to the salon where you did the extensions.

Helpful advice

Try to color your hair extensions very carefully: damage to the capsules can lead to the fact that a strand of artificial hair will remain in your hands. Therefore, if possible, call someone for help. Dyeing such hair together will be much more convenient, and the result of dyeing can be much better.

It often happens that cotton items lose their original color and brightness after several washes. Therefore, it occurs to many to repaint a thing in a different color or add richness to the color. Natural dyes, which are extracted from the roots of plants and leaves, are displaced from aniline ones. Artificial dyes are currently used for dyeing fabrics, which have a wide variety of colors and shades.

You will need

  • - dye for cotton fabrics,
  • - salt,
  • - vinegar,
  • - soda,
  • - enamelware
  • - wooden sticks.

Instruction

coloring cotton recommended in an absolutely clean enamel pan. Aluminum and galvanized are unsuitable for these purposes, as they are etched. The dishes should be capacious, the thing to be painted could freely fit in it, and completely covered with a dye solution. The larger the volume of the dye solution, the more intense and evenly colored.

For dyeing cotton, it is advisable to take soft water (snow or rain). If the water is initially hard, it can be softened with ammonia or soda ash. You will need smooth wooden sticks for flipping, they must be strong enough to support the weight of the wet material.

Before painting, be sure to clean the material from dirt and stains. It is desirable to remove a layer from a cotton thing, then boil it for 30-40 minutes in soapy water with the addition of soda. Rinse thoroughly in warm water. If stains are not removed from the thing, then you will have to paint it in a very dark color.

Pour the required amount of dye into a small enameled container and gradually add boiled water, constantly stirring with a wooden stick. Continuing to stir, add hot boiled water at the rate of one bag of dye per half liter of water. Strain the resulting solution through gauze and pour into a dyeing dish filled with water 40-50, mix thoroughly.

Prepared cotton soak in warm water, squeeze lightly, straighten well and dip in a pan with dye. Gradually heat the solution to low. After 20 minutes, pour in the salt solution (two tablespoons per two liters of water) and continue staining for another 30 minutes at a low boil.

Take the pot off the heat and paint cotton in a cooling solution for 30 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove the painted product from the container and let the stained solution drain. Rinse well in warm water, changing the water regularly until it is completely clean. It remains to rinse the product in cold water with the addition of vinegar (1 tablespoon per 5 liters of water).

Silk considered one of the most refined materials. Therefore, its high price is fully justified. However, you can make an original thing yourself, paint it or apply a beautiful painting. This will allow you not only to significantly save money, but also to please yourself with the results of your own creativity.

You will need

  • - silk;
  • - water;
  • - soap or special powder;
  • - a frame for fixing the fabric;
  • - paints for batik;
  • - iron;
  • - salt;
  • - acetic acid;

Instruction

Wash silk before dyeing. The fabric is treated with a special impregnation, which ensures wrinkle resistance and smoothness of the surface. But in order for the paint to lie flat on the material, the protective layer must be washed off. To wash silk by hand, you need to take about a bucket of water and dissolve 250 g of soap in it. If you want to wash the fabric in the washing machine, then keep in mind that you need to use a delicate wash program and a special washing powder.

If you plan to dye not the entire fabric, but apply a pattern, then to get clearer borders, you need to rinse the silk in salt water. After that, lay the material on a horizontal surface so that there are no smudges, and let it dry naturally. But keep in mind that this method has one significant drawback - the colors of the paint will not be bright. Therefore, such a recipe is only suitable for products that will be made in.

Prepare your dyes. Special paints are available for sale. A special reserve is also sold, which is applied to the fabric before dyeing. It will allow you to wash off excess paint with hot water immediately after work.

Now start painting. If you want to change the color of the entire product, then dilute the paint in a container according to the instructions indicated on the package. Then dip the material there and lay it out to dry on a horizontal surface to avoid smudges. If you plan to apply a pattern, you need to purchase a special frame in which you can fix the fabric. After that, you can apply the painting. In order for the paint to be well fixed, be sure to iron the material with an iron.

After dyeing and drying the material, it must be rinsed again and soaked for 2 hours in a bucket of water diluted with a tablespoon of acetic acid. After this procedure, it is not necessary to rinse the silk.

To simplify accounting, synthetic accounts, which are indicated in the chart of accounts approved by Russian law. Synthetic accounting provides general information on business transactions and provides information expressed in monetary terms.

You will need

  • - chart of accounts.

Instruction

To get information about a particular synthetic account, use the chart of accounts. Be sure to use the latest edition.

There are more than seven dozen synthetic accounts, each of which has its own number. These accounts divided into 8 sections: non-current assets, inventories, finished products and goods, production costs, cash, calculations, financial results, capital.

To determine from which group you need to open an account, just look at the operation. For example, you paid a supplier for a product using a settlement accounts. Thus, you have transferred funds. This means that you need to put a synthetic account on the loan from the “Cash” section. There are 7 accounts here, one of which is called “Settlement accounts».

For debit, indicate where the money went. Open the "Settlements" section, find account 60 "Settlements with suppliers and contractors", here you need to specify it.

To determine where to indicate this or that synthetic account - in debit or credit - again pay attention to the business transaction and understand the essence of the movement. For example, you purchased a fixed asset from a vendor. You have profit as part of non-current assets, that is, you have invested. Thus, put account 08 in debit, because you have a “plus” operation. But at the same time, you owe the supplier, that is, a debt has formed. That is, the loan amount has increased, here put the score 60.

To synthetic accounts m can open sub accounts, which give more detailed information on operations. For example, in the above example, you can open a sub-account 4 "Acquisition of OS objects" to account 08.

For more accurate information on business information, use analytical accounts, which can be opened in the context of synthetic accounts. For example, in the above example, open an account for account 60, which will indicate exactly the counterparty with which the transaction was made.

Tip 7: What is the difference between synthetic and natural silk

Natural silk is one of the most durable, beautiful and useful materials known to man, and it is quite expensive. Not surprisingly, textile workers are trying to create a fabric similar in properties to silk, but cheaper.

What is natural silk

Natural silk thread is a protein consisting of 97% amino acids, 3% wax and fatty acids. It is mined by unwinding silkworm cocoons using a special technology. It takes about 3,000 cocoons to create a square meter of fabric. The thread can reach a length of 1200 m.

Silk thread is exceptionally strong in tension. The fabric made from it is hypoallergenic, hygroscopic, ideally regulates the body's heat exchange with the environment. In winter it is warm in silk clothes, in summer it is not hot. Due to the structure, the silk fabric shimmers beautifully, reflecting light like a prism.

Silk obtained from the cocoon of a wild silkworm is called flaky.

What is artificial silk

Artificial silk is cotton fibers treated with iodine solution of sodium hydroxide. This processing is called mercerization. To give a special shine, mercerized fibers are passed through special rolls. Artificial silk fabric is durable, pleasant to the touch and looks like natural silk, but its composition is cellulose.

Another type of fabric that is called artificial silk is viscose. For its manufacture, cotton fibers or chopped wood is treated with a concentrated solution of caustic sodium. The resulting thick mass of yellowish color is passed through holes of very small diameter, resulting in the formation of a long fiber - the basis of viscose fabric. Viscose fabric looks like silk, pleasant to the touch, wear-resistant, but less durable at high temperatures.

Viscose products can be washed at a temperature not exceeding 30 ° C, preferably by hand or in a washing machine in the gentle wash mode.

Acetate fibers are obtained by treating chopped wood with acetic acid derivatives. They are much more elastic than viscose, and therefore products made from acetate fabrics wrinkle less, but when washed in hot water, creases that are difficult to remove form on them. In addition, acetate fabrics are highly electrified.

What is synthetic silk

Synthetic silk thread is obtained by processing high-molecular compounds, which are based on coal, oil, natural gas. In this way, polyester and polyamide are obtained. Using special technologies, it is possible to obtain particularly durable materials, water- and fat-repellent fabrics. Of course, they are not too similar to natural silk.

Natural silk products cannot be cheap. If you set fire to a natural silk thread, it will emit the smell of burnt hair. The coal remaining after combustion is easily ground into dust. When burning, a thread of artificial silk emits the smell of paper, synthetic - burnt plastic. In addition, the edges of synthetic silk fabrics melt under the influence of fire.

Natural silk wrinkles less than artificial silk. You can strongly wrinkle the fabric for a while, then inspect it: if the product is natural, there will be almost no wrinkles.

Aspirin is a time-tested pain reliever, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug. However, more than a third of a percent of the population suffer from hypersensitivity to it, which manifests itself in the form of an allergic reaction. In this case, you should pay attention to the natural analogues of aspirin.

Harm of synthetic aspirin

Aspirin is widely used as a universal remedy for many diseases. Many doctors recommend it to their patients for the prevention of stroke and heart attack. However, recent studies have led scientists to question the safety of this drug.

Aspirin enjoys special love of the population in the States. There, this drug is produced in the amount of 50 billion single doses per year.

The use of synthetic is fraught with serious side effects. Abuse of this drug can cause peptic ulcer disease, as well as cerebral hemorrhage. According to some reports, aspirin or increases the risk of developing Reye's syndrome - a disease that ends in death in 20-40% of cases. meanwhile, the usual aspirin can be replaced with a natural counterpart. Among these, it is quite right to consider willow bark taken from a two or three-year-old plant.

Replacing aspirin with willow bark infusion

The bark of this plant contains the glycoside salicin, which, when ingested in the form of a decoction or infusion, releases salicylic acid, the action of which is similar to that of synthetic aspirin. There are practically no side effects of this remedy, unlike those for which the synthetic drug is "famous". Willow bark infusions are used, as well as for colds in the form of an antipyretic and anti-inflammatory agent, for headaches, and rheumatism. The infusion is also recommended as a protection against a heart attack and as an anthelmintic drug.

Berries replacing aspirin

Another analogue of aspirin is raspberries. Raspberry tea is a quality remedy. The berry is rich in vitamin A, which protects a person from cancer and heart disease. Raspberries also contain vitamin PP, which helps to get rid of insomnia and fatigue. Also, this vitamin improves appetite. In addition, eating raspberries lowers cholesterol levels. With the help of this berry, you can cleanse the body of harmful toxins and substances.

The main wealth of raspberries is salicylic acid, which perfectly copes with viruses and has an antipyretic effect.

Another wonderful plant with a high amount of salicin glycoside is meadowsweet. Tea with this herb is great for solving the problem of flu and is also good. Meadowsweet, in addition, perfectly nervous system and has a pronounced analgesic effect.

Have you dyed your hair unsuccessfully and dream of returning your natural hair color? Or have you been dyeing your hair for a long time, but now you want to stop this process? There are many methods, both professional and amateur, to help stop.

You will need

  • - lemon juice
  • - Apple vinegar
  • - white laundry soap 72%
  • - olive oil
  • - hydrogen peroxide
  • - sour apples
  • - kefir
  • - soda
  • - yolk
  • - Castor oil
  • - aspirin

Instruction

It is best to go to the salon and get decolourized. This service is expensive and should only be used as a last resort. The chemicals used in deep decolouring can irritate the airways and are contraindicated in asthmatics. Even a superficial procedure can harm the hair. So it is better to return the natural hair color with folk methods.

For blondes who have dyed their hair brunette and dream of returning a light shade of curls, hydrogen peroxide is suitable. In order not to damage the hair, it is diluted in half with water and sprayed onto the hair from a spray bottle. Then you need to comb the curls, and after drying, repeat the procedure. For a day, you can completely wash off the dark paint. Most likely, the tint will be yellow. An applesauce mask will help restore the pearl shine, you just need to take sour varieties, such as Simirenko or Granny Smith. The “chicken” color of kefir and lemon juice are also well cleaned.

How to stop dyeing your hair if a shade was applied that is radically different from natural? If the procedure was carried out once, ordinary olive oil will help. You need to apply it on the entire surface of the hair, wrap your head with polyethylene and go to bed. Wash off in the morning with plenty of shampoo. If necessary, repeat the procedure. One of the radical methods that can be applied once is washing your hair with alkaline laundry soap. It is marked "72%". After such an execution, the curls should be nourished with various homemade masks and rinsed with a solution of apple cider vinegar to restore elasticity and shine.

A mask of kefir and soda acts much softer. Add a handful of powder to a glass of fermented milk product and wash your hair with the mixture. Leave under the film for a couple of hours, then wash off with shampoo.

A mixture of yolk and castor oil in a 1: 1 ratio will not only gradually restore your natural hair color, but also strengthen the roots and restore the structure. Apply the mass to the entire length and leave for a couple of hours. Wash your hair with a neutral shampoo with cool water.

These methods are good when artificial and natural hair colors are radically different. Then it’s easier to wash off the shade than to flaunt contrasting roots, or cut off dyed hair. But if the acquired and natural tone are similar, just wait until it is washed off or the hair grows back.

A beautiful satin stitch fabric made on the basis of cotton is the most common natural material in everyday life. Many children's things are sewn from it (caps, sliders, vests, etc.), women's clothing, shirts and pajamas. In itself, it is the owner of unique properties. It has a second name - kulirka.

Cooler fabric - what is it?

I usually start a full car painting from the roof. If the roof is painted last, then dust can ruin all the other details, since they are below. It is unlikely that there is a coating on the roof when painting the lower parts, and if it does, it will not flow as on the rest of the details. When you pick up an airbrush, you have a completely logical question: how to hold it correctly? The spray gun must be exactly at an angle of 90 degrees to the surface to be painted. The main thing is to observe this provision when painting large parts. Neglecting this rule is dangerous due to the appearance of areas of different shades on the surface, especially when using metallic paint. You can tilt the spray gun only when painting the ends, arches, and various hard-to-reach places.

Do you want to sew a textile doll as a gift, but only white cotton fabric is at hand? Learned how to make flowers from nylon? Can't wait to try it right now, but there are only white tights in the closet. Dont be upset. After reading the article, you can easily dye the fabric at home in different shades using simple vegetable dyes that every home has.

Why you may need to dye fabric

If you are engaged in needlework or artistic creation, then most likely you have heard about the existence of such a technique as batik. This is painting on fabric. Silk was originally used, but now any kind of matter is used. Pigments can be applied to the fabric both with a brush, working with special liquid paints, and by using staining in a container with a color solution. The first way is convenient to make decorative panels, the second is used for coloring clothing items or shreds, which will then be used to create textile souvenirs.

Now textile dolls (Tilda, pumpkin heads and others) are very popular. To create them, you need a flesh-colored fabric. It is very difficult to buy cotton fabric of this color. It is not in high demand. The easiest way is to dye the fabric at home using vegetable dyes.

Another type of needlework where you may need to dye the fabric is making flowers from nylon or chiffon. Knowing how to get different shades yourself, it will be enough for you to have only white material.

Also, dyeing the fabric will help you make original accessories for your wardrobe - a scarf or a scarf.

How to dye fabric at home and what colors will turn out

The first way is to use purchased dyes. Aniline dyes are used, which are sold in powder form and diluted in the right amount of water in accordance with the instructions. Special liquid paints for batik are also sold.

The second method, which in this case is the most interesting, is dyeing the fabric when vegetable dyes are used. You can use any colored objects of natural origin that you have at home. Their list is as follows:

Tea coffee;

Zest of orange, lemon;

Turmeric (yellow-orange seasoning)

Onion peel;

Black Rowan;

nettle leaves;

Beet juice or carrot juice.

In a word, you can use everything that can give a pigment of any color. Thus, you can get almost any shade. It is only necessary to change the concentration of the solution or the time of exposure to the tissue.

Fabric dyeing at home: a master class

Materials and tools

So, to get colored patches you will need the following:

  • White fabric;
  • coloring matter;
  • Heat-resistant container for solution preparation;
  • Spoon, which you will stir and get the fabric (it is better to have tongs as well);
  • A flat drying surface or a line to hang the fabric on.
  • Iron.

Coloring technology

Whatever pigment you take, the meaning of the work will be as follows:

  1. Prepare a solution by dipping into hot water or bringing cold water to a boil with a coloring substance placed in it;
  2. Dip the cloth into the hot solution;
  3. Wait a while (or bring to a boil or boil);
  4. You take out a flap;
  5. Hang or lay out on a flat surface;
  6. Smooth out with an iron.

If you need to dye the fabric evenly at home, you should avoid wrinkles on the patch and the presence of foreign objects in the container with the dye solution (chain, berries, leaves).

If, on the contrary, you need to get a surface with a pattern, their presence will not be superfluous, but rather add originality to the resulting pattern.

Let's start practicing

This master class uses the second method from the above. It can be called the nodular batik technique, when, before dipping the fabric into a colored solution, where vegetable dyes are located, knots are tied on shreds, randomly or in a certain sequence. Where the fabric is tightly tied, it does not stain and remains white (the original shade if some other color is used). It is in this way that you can easily and quickly make, for example, an original decorative scarf, scarf, headband.

In addition to the accessories listed above, you will need the following:

  • Buttons;
  • Threads;
  • Scissors.

Instead of buttons, you can use peas, beans, beads and any other similar objects. If there is nothing like this at hand or you don’t want to spend a lot of time on such work, just tie the fabric in several knots, folding, for example, the flap first in the form of a strip.

So, if you need to dye fabric to make the head, arms and legs of a textile doll, use tea or coffee. The amount of ingredient in relation to water depends on the shade you want to get. It is better to make several experimental samples yourself and choose the best option. You can proceed from a teaspoon to a glass of water.

After preparing the solution, you need to strain it so that there are no stains on the fabric from the tea leaves. Dip the cloth into the resulting solution and bring to a boil. See what kind of fabric takes on a shade. If the color suits you, you can remove the flap and send it to dry.

The second sample is stained with orange peels. So you can get a shade from pale to bright yellow.

We paint the third patch with onion peel, boiling a little in the solution.

For the fourth, frozen blueberries were used (dried ones are also suitable)

For the fifth, cranberries were used.

As a result, this is what happened:

After unfolding, drying and ironing, the shreds look like this:

If you change the concentration and exposure time, as well as mix the solutions with each other, you can get an almost unlimited range of shades. Even with just one blueberry, you can easily achieve shades from light purple or blue to deep purple.

So, you have seen how easy it is to dye fabric at home using vegetable dyes, but, in fact, food (fruits, vegetables, leaves, seasonings). The process of staining is also not difficult. The number of shades obtained depends only on your imagination and desire to experiment.

Have your favorite jeans lost color?

Jeans are comfortable, practical and appropriate for almost any event. But over time, they change color, stains may appear on them, but not everyone decides to throw away their favorite thing. The way out of this situation will be staining. In this article I will explain how and with what you can dye black jeans at home.

Jeans - versatile clothing

Before painting

There are a few things to consider before painting things:

  • Analyze all the pros and cons of the procedure. This is a risky business, and the result may not meet expectations.
  • Consider fabric composition. It is easy to change the color of natural fabrics. But if synthetic threads are present, then the color may turn out to be paler.
  • The density and composition of the material affect the final result

  • Consider the original color of the clothes. If white is dyed black, the result will be gray or dark gray. But not black! It is better to choose tones that are close in combination.
  • Work must be done with gloves.
  • Rubber gloves protect your hands

  • Follow the instructions on the dye. The instruction will explain the necessary proportions and procedure.
  • Preparation

    Before changing or updating the color of a denim item, you must prepare:

  • Wash. Check for grease stains. When washing, do not use rinse aids, they can make it difficult to paint.
  • Cut all labels. Labels on jeans in most cases are also stained, and therefore deteriorate. After the process, they can be re-sewn.
  • cut the label

  • Bleach if necessary. If your jeans are not blue, then you will have to use bleach.
  • Preparing a place to work. We clear the surface, cover it with newspapers so that the dyes do not get on objects nearby.
  • Proper preparation is 75% success!

    Whitening

    To improve the result of dyeing, it is better to bleach a denim product. For this:

  • We dilute water and bleach in a ratio of 1: 1. It is best to use a deep container, such as a bucket or basin. If the jeans are light, then a weaker solution is made.
  • Whiteness is an excellent bleach

    Give a second life to old jeans

    How to dye jeans black? I have identified 3 main ways to change the color scheme. Let's analyze each case separately.

    Method 1. Special paints

    You can purchase specialty powder paints online or at a hardware store. With their help, you can paint a thing in the washing machine. All you need to do is follow the instructions on the package.

    This is what the paint bag looks like.

    If you have purchased a composition of foreign production, then proceed as follows:

  • We prepare jeans, turn them inside out, look at the optimal washing temperature on the label.
  • Then we put them in the washing machine and pour the powder on top.
  • We start the selected washing mode.
  • Add dye instead of laundry detergent

  • After that, rinse them in warm water with the addition of vinegar, it will help fix the color.
  • Then we wash in the usual way with powder.
  • There are paints that do not pour into the drum, but are placed directly with the packaging in the washing machine. Read the instructions carefully!

    Method 2. Hair dye

    How to dye black jeans at home if it is not possible to purchase special paint? For such purposes, ordinary hair dye is useful.

    Be careful with shades! And if the jeans are large, then buy 2 packs of paint.

    Can you dye your jeans with hair dye?

  • We dilute the paint in warm water so that the trousers are completely covered with a solution.
  • We leave everything for 1 hour.
  • We take them out and rinse first in plain water, and then add salt and vinegar.
  • This work is best done with gloves.

    Method 3. Paint for fabrics

    My favorite way remains! Now I will tell you how to dye black jeans at home using fabric dyes. This method differs from the previous ones in that you have to tinker a little.

    If you purchased such paint, do the following:

    • we dilute in water (proportions in the instructions for the composition), it is better to use a bucket or a deep container;
    • put our jeans in the prepared mixture;
    • put it all on fire and boil for 1-1.5 hours;
    • constantly mix the pants so that they are painted evenly and without streaks;
    • after that, rinse in salt or acetic water to fix the pigment.

    Rinse your jeans well so that there are no streaks left.

    other methods

    I'll tell you about rare and interesting ways to change or update the black color on clothes. To refresh the color, you can soak the item in coffee, tobacco or black ink.

  • Coffee or tobacco. We prepare the solution with our own hands:
    • we breed 50 grams of ground coffee or 15 grams of tobacco in 1 liter of water;
    • soak black trousers for half an hour, the water should be cool.

    Coffee is a natural dye

  • felt-tip pens. Of course, we will not directly decorate our jeans with them! We take the rod from the felt-tip pen, break it and lower it into the water so that it changes color. And the paint is ready!
  • Blue, black, blue - take your pick!

    What to look for when choosing coloring agents:

    • on the instructions, it should be indicated on the package;
    • for what material it is intended;
    • if you don’t know what your trousers are made of, take universal paint.

    It is best to choose a universal paint

    If lavsan or nitron is present in jeans, then the paints may not saturate the fabric. The result is that the thing will not be painted.

    The price of specialty powder paints can be high and often hard to find. Ordering via the Internet will take some time, but it is real to buy.

    Care after staining

    Dyed clothing must be carefully monitored and cared for. Improper washing or drying can change the resulting shade, the item may shed and have to be thrown away.

    After dyeing, you need to properly care for black things.

    I will share with you a few simple tips:

  • Dry clothes where they are not exposed to direct sunlight, so they will not fade.
  • Wash separately for the first 2-3 washes to prevent the new paint from fading.
  • Add vinegar in subsequent rinses, it serves as a color fixer.
  • Vinegar makes the color last much longer.

  • When washing, use only powder for colored fabrics. Powder for white laundry contains bleach.
  • Black jeans go with any outfit
