Charming children's fleece hats: patterns, ideas, master class. Children's fur hat - warm ears

High-quality and original children's clothing has always been in short supply and was by no means cheap. This is especially true of children's warm hats. Therefore, we offer you a master class in which we will show how to sew a children's hat with our own hands.

Tools and materials Time: 4 hours Difficulty: 6/10

  • fleece (or any soft fabric) in white and pink;
  • pattern;
  • sewing threads to match;
  • scissors;
  • sewing machine.

To sew such a hat, you can use any warm fabric, for example, polartek or fleece, or combine them.

First of all, we make a pattern, and for this we remove three measurements:

  • girth of the face;
  • head girth,
  • the distance from the eyebrow line to the base of the skull.

Then we draw a drawing grid - a rectangle, the width of which is equal to the half-girth of the head + 2 cm, the height is equal to the half-girth of the face + 2 cm. If your hat is not warm, then allowances can be omitted.

We denote the key points of the drawing with the letters A, B, C, D. Set aside 6-9 cm from point A (depending on the size of the cap) and draw a horizontal line.

Then from point C we set aside a distance that is equal to half the distance from the eyebrows to the base of the skull.

Draw another horizontal line.

Then we divide the segment AA1 in half and draw vertical lines. We do the same with the neighboring segment.

We draw the layout of our hat. In order for it to lie round on the baby's head, we make several tucks.

We lower the back of the head by 2 cm and draw the pattern with smooth lines, not forgetting about the ears.

Take a piece of fabric and fold it in half. We apply the pattern with the front part to the fold, transfer it to the material and cut it out, making an allowance of 0.7 cm.

We cut the lining and insulation elements in the same way, but 1.5-2 mm less than the top.

We cut out the shape and length of the ears at our discretion.

How to sew a baby hat with earflaps

We fasten the details of the cap, starting with the front tuck. In this case, it is necessary to carefully iron all seams.

We outline and build out the antennae of the pussy.

We sew the seam on the back of the head and ears. Then we insert the ears into the side tucks, connect the middle of the parts and sew with one line.

We attach the elastic in a zigzag, you can also use a regular seam.

An elastic band is necessary so that the cat hat fits snugly to the back of the baby's head.

We sew the lining, connecting it along the contour with a heater.

It remains to collect only a hat.

You will need

  • - fur on the side;
  • - material on the bottom (fur, leather, drape, velvet);
  • - cushioning fabric (non-woven fabric, dense twill, needle-punched fabric)
  • - lining.

Instruction

Select the required amount of fur and fabric for the lining. Determine whether the hat will be made entirely of fur or a combination of fabrics will suit you. Draw a pattern for the side and bottom according to the diagram. Please note that patterns are given without seam allowances.

Start laying out patterns. For fur parts, when cutting, add 0.3 cm to the pattern on all sides. At the bottom of the side, it already contains a one-piece hem allowance of 2 cm. Lay the parts on the fur, taking into account the direction of the pile - from right to left. Circle the outline of the pattern on the leather side of the fur with a ballpoint pen. On felt and lining, use chalk or soap to stroke.

You need to cut out details from the fur with a sharp scalpel or blade. You can't cut fur with scissors. From the cushioning material, cut out the parts without a hem allowance along the lower edge of the side. For the rest of the cuts, make a seam allowance of 1 cm. From the lining fabric, cut out details with allowances of 1 cm along all edges except the bottom.

Sew a short section of the side part manually (for fur) or by machine. When stitching the fur, pay attention that the skin does not stretch or gather. Sew on the bottom piece. Turn the fur head inside out and put on the interlining piece on top. The seams must match. Sew the head to the cuban with a “goat” seam, while laying a dimensional tape from any braid. Turn the hem allowance of the bottom of the fur part (2 cm) inside out and sew to the lining, slightly grabbing the leather fabric with the needle.

Stitch the sections of the lining piece. Iron the seams. Put a lining on the fur head turned inside out. Turn the bottom hem under and hand-hem with blind stitches.

Unscrew the product. Lightly dampen the fur. Smooth the fur with a brush and comb through with a metal comb. Take out the villi that have fallen inside the seam with a needle. Dry the headpiece at room temperature and comb the pile again.

note

Fur with a long nap is not very suitable for caps.

Sometimes small pieces of natural fur remain in the house after sewing. You can not throw these pieces away, but make a baby hat out of them. For such a product, the fur does not have to be of the same color and dressing. With success, you can combine skins of different shades and length of pile. The bonnet can be considered a classic model of a children's hat. It fits snugly to the head and closes the baby's ears well.

You will need

  • - natural fur;
  • - fabric for lining and insulation;
  • - needle, blade, thread.

Instruction

Build a life-size drawing of the pattern according to the diagram on a piece of paper. Please note that this is a size 55 without seam allowances. Cut out the pattern. If you need to change the pattern by one size, add 1 cm at the back of the head.

Prepare to cut the skins. Smooth the surface of the skin by moistening the skin layer with a spray bottle. You can stretch the skin a little by attaching it to the board with nails or pins. The skin must be completely dry. Do not dry fur in the sun or near heaters. This can ruin the leather layer.

Lay out the patterns. Remove the dry skins and lay them on the table with the skin side up. Consider the direction of the pile. In the hood, the fur should go from bottom to top. Or from the face to the back of the head. Place the paper pattern on the skin and circle with a pen. If you will sew the details on a special furrier machine, then make allowances for the seams. If the skins are small, sew them together first to get the right size.

Open the fur. Do not use scissors for details. They can damage the pile. It is better to cut with a sharp knife or razor blade, trying to cut only the skin layer. Fold the finished parts together with the fur inside.

One of the fashion trends in recent years can be safely attributed to the hat with earflaps. It is worn by everyone - from small to large. Hats with earflaps are sold by a trading network, and someone may have already bought them for themselves. But after all, such a headdress can be sewn by yourself. It only at first glance seems that it will be difficult to sew it. But it's not. This article will tell you how it is created and from what material, how it is done for a boy.

Pattern starts with paper

You will need: fur (artificial or natural) or water-repellent raincoat fabric, lining fabric (tinsulate or fleece), interlining and all the necessary accessories for sewing. Experimenting, of course, is better on something small, even if you have sewing skills. You can safely take on sewing a hat for a child, if you tune in to work and make patterns on paper, focusing on recommendations and calculations.

So, we begin work with a pattern of a children's hat with earflaps, for which we make the necessary measurements with a centimeter tape: the circumference of the head, face and the length of the arc from the eyebrow line to the back of the head. For a two-year-old child, these measurements will be as follows: head circumference = 48, face circumference = 52, arc length = 34 cm.

Making calculations for the wedge

The main detail of the hat is a bowler hat, it consists of 6 wedges. To correctly calculate the base of the wedge, you need to consider how thick the cap insulation will be. If the insulation is thick, add 6 cm to the circumference of the head, that is, it turns out OG \u003d 48 + 6 \u003d 54 cm. Now you can find the wedge width 54: 6 \u003d 9 cm. The wedge height is found by dividing the distance from the eyebrows to the back of the head in half, that is 34: 2 \u003d 17 cm. Now you can make the first part for a pattern of a children's hat with earflaps - a wedge pattern (1 part in the photo). We get a rectangle whose sides are 9 and 17 centimeters. We mark the center in the upper side (9: 2 = 4.5) and build an isosceles triangle. From the midpoints of the sides of the triangle, lay off 1 cm perpendicular to the side, then connect the top of the triangle and the points of its base with a smooth line.

Construction of the ears and visor of the hat

The second element for the boy are the ears themselves. It was for the construction of the ears that all the preliminary measurements were needed. We make the necessary calculations. The length of the part for the ears is calculated simply: subtract two centimeters from the length of the four wedges, then divide everything by 2. It turns out (9 x 4 - 2): 2 \u003d 17 cm. Height is OL - DL \u003d 52 - 34 \u003d 18 cm. We build a rectangle, on the first side of which we lay 3-4 centimeters down. This will be the back of the hat. Further, the ear itself is arbitrarily built (2nd detail in the photo).

The visor is made on a rectangle with a width equal to the lengths of two wedges minus two centimeters - 9 x 2 - 2 = 16 cm. The length of the rectangle is the size of the visor itself, for example 8-10 cm. We also draw the visor line smoothly (3rd detail in the photo). The details of the pattern must be laid out on the prepared material and cut out, making 0.5 -0.7 cm more for the seams over the entire area. But the details of the lining and insulation should be cut 1.5-2.0 mm less than the main one. By the way, the calculations and construction of the pattern of a men's hat with earflaps are no different from a child's hat, it is simply possible to replace the wedges with a simple dome. Show your imagination here.

Earflap technology

The cut-out details of the cap must be sewn correctly. The wedges from the base material are sewn first. If it is fur, then even when cutting, you need to pay attention to the correct location of the wedges so that the pile goes in one direction. If this is a raincoat fabric, it can be made quilted by connecting a wedge of raincoat fabric and insulation, for example, interlining. Quilting must be done before sewing the wedges.

The lapel with ears is sewn together with the lining material or sewn from two layers of the main fabric. Layers are folded with the front sides inward. A visor is also sewn. All details are turned on the front side and grinded with a cap. The lining under the cap is not sewn all together. 2 wedges remain unsewn so that you can turn the hat inside out, and then carefully sew this seam by hand. Sewing a hat with earflaps for men according to a pattern made as indicated above is no different from sewing a children's headdress. The only difference is the sizes.

tailoring quality

It should be remembered that there must be allowances for the seams. After completing work with a fur product, it must be lightly sprinkled with water, comb the pile and dry. Be sure to check the quality of the work. It, of course, depends largely on the experience of the seamstress. When creating a hat model, you should correctly measure, calculate and prepare a pattern for your men with earflaps. Of course, the craftswoman would like to see her husband or adult son in a beautiful hat that fits well on his head. If, nevertheless, it is small, do not be upset. You can always add another wedge in the cap, as well as reduce it if the headpiece is too big.

Popular styles of men's hats with earflaps

Patterns of any hats can be done independently, as it became clear from the article. The main thing is to take all the measurements correctly. Having learned how to sew an ordinary classic hat with earflaps, you should dream up a little and sew a fashionable trendy headdress of the Russian Cossacks - a kubanka or a hat for your household. And if there is a mink skin in the house, why not practice on it. After all, men's mink hats with earflaps do not leave the catwalks. These look especially beautiful with inserts made of leather, leatherette or suede.

Since men's hats with earflaps are designed both for warmth and for harmoniously complementing the image, sheepskin hats remain popular. They perfectly tolerate both rain and humidity. Here's how many different materials you can use for tailoring. The main desire. No wonder the people have such a proverb: "The eyes are afraid, but the hands are doing."

From the Ottobere catalog. Depending on what fabric you choose, it can be demi-season (fleece), winter (fur, faux fur, padding lining) or a hat for a carnival costume.

First you need to determine whether this pattern has the size you need. To do this, the girth of the head of the child. On this pattern, we are offered sizes: 50,52,54, 56. A pattern of size 52 suited me.
Also, when choosing a size, it is necessary to take into account the stretching of the fabric. If the fabric does not stretch, then the cap will sit tight enough, then you need to choose a larger size.

We transfer the details of the pattern to separate sheets. Cut out, we should have 4 of them.

Our hat will be made of two fabrics: the main one, it is on top, and the lining. Based on this, we need to cut:

From main fabric:
Item #1: 4 pcs
Part #2: Fold the fabric in half, attach part 2 with a dotted line to the fold and circle the part. We need one such detail.
Item #3: 1pc
Item #4: 2pcs

From lining fabric make the same set of parts, the exception is part number 3, as this will be the spout.

All the details of the pattern are ready, we begin to collect our hat.
1) Connect Parts #1 lining fabric

2) Connect Parts #1 from the main fabric

3) We connect parts No. 2 along the seam, in the finished product this seam will be located in the center at the back.
And now a tag can be sewn to the part from the base material by inserting it into this seam. I sewed it on, stepping back 2 cm from the bottom.

At this stage, we should have something like this

4) We collect ears, these are parts number 4. Fold the main fabric and lining fabric right sides together and sew so that the top remains open. You need to make 2 ears.

5) Determine the location of the ears as shown on the pattern. Let's transfer the markup first to our paper pattern.

Now for the finished part.

We get a place for sewing on the ears and put them in place.

6) We connect parts No. 2, folding them with the front sides inward. It is necessary to fasten only along the bottom (forehead line, ears and back of the head)

7) Joining the top and bottom lining

8) We connect the lower and upper parts of the hat from the main fabric leaving a small piece unsewn to turn the hat right side out.

9) Sew on the nose.

Attention! If you have purchased fittings, then you need to attach it now.

Place a small piece of synthetic winterizer and sew the nose around the circumference

10) Position the eyes as you wish

Sew up the turning hole.
My hat with ears is ready.

My notes:

It seemed to me that the ears are set far away, so pay attention to this, determine the place according to the pattern, try it on and see if you like it.
If your fabrics do not stretch, then choose a size larger.
If you do not sew on the ears and nose, you will get a very modern winter hat for a boy, and if you choose a color, then for a girl.

Let's summarize how to sew a winter hat for a boy:

What I needed to sew a winter hat for a boy:
1) 30 cm main fabric
2) 30 cm lining fabric
3) Accessories: 2 eye-bolts, spout-bolt. (may be replaced with buttons)
4) 2 types of threads: contrasting for overcasting and in color with fabrics.
5) scissors
6) sewing machine

Tailoring of men's (children's) hats with earflaps

Men's hat with earflaps with fur

Cutting preparation

Make a hat pattern according to the diagram below. Dimensions are given without allowances for a head circumference of 54.0 cm.

Detach the lining from the collar and clean the collar of threads.

Open the hats with earflaps

Lay out the details of the visor and ears on the collar. If the details of the ears do not fit, then make them stitched using lunges between the details. Be careful, the pile on the ears should go from top to bottom, and on the visor from bottom to top. In addition, if the parts are stitched, be sure to observe the color scheme and pile height. It is impossible to use scissors for cutting the mezdra of fur. Want to know how to cut fur? Then read the article to the end.

Cut out the faux leather upper details.

Cut out the lining for the hat from the lining fabric and the sievepon - with a tulle (top of the hat).

Sewing hats with earflaps

Lining Processing

Connect the lining parts to the insulation parts by turning them around the edges.

Connect the side parts and the central part of the crown of the lining. Sew finishing stitches along the seams to give shape.

Here's what happens:

Processing the top of the hat with earflaps

In the same way, assemble the tulle made of artificial leather and lay the finishing lines along the seams. How to carefully lay the finishing lines on the skin? You will find out further.

Put the tulle of the lining on the jar, put on the top of the tulle made of leather, cut off the excess lining.

Ear processing

Connecting the fur parts of the ears

Connect the details of the ears on a furrier machine or manually. To ensure that the seams are flat and do not lead to discomfort, chop them with a hammer. On the front side, comb the fur, especially along the seams, using a wool brush, which can be bought at a pet store.

Connecting the parts of the ears together

Connect the fur ears to the faux leather ears, leaving the top sections unstitched.

Do not forget to sew in the rubber cord and push the latch.

Turn the ears right side out and straighten the seams. Recommendation, comb the fur at the seams.

Connect the parts of the visor, turn right side out and straighten the seams.

Attention! Before connecting leather and fur parts, cut the leather parts by 0.3 - 0.5 cm so that after joining there is no sagging of leather parts.

Assembling the details of the hat

Connecting the top with the ears and the visor

Pin the ears for one part (leather) to the crown, leaving the fur part free.

Stitch the visor (for both parts) and the ears to the crown.

What will happen:

Connect the crown of the lining to the free edge of the fur part of the ears, leaving a hole for turning the hat inside out.

Then connect the crown lining with the main part in the visor area - in front. Thus, the visor will fall into the joint seam.

Turn the hat right side out through the hole in the seam.

Finishing

Secure with hand basting stitches and then with blind stitches the opening in the seam.

Finishing stitching

Straighten the seam between the lining and warp, then baste the piping. But, first check on a sample of artificial leather whether there are traces of needle punctures.

On the front side, lay a circular machine stitch, securing the seam of the connection of the parts.

Fixing the visor

Bend the visor up and secure it on both sides with hand stitches.

To give an attractive look, brush the fur on the hat with earflaps.

Interested in tailoring a stylish cap, a master class at the link.

You can fill the ears and get a different style:

The children's hat with earflaps for my nephew turned out great! Winters in the Urals are cold, such a winter hat is perfect for walking and skiing. Now you can also sew a hat with earflaps for your child or man, the pattern is universal. Use a variety of fabrics and make your own unique hats for the chilly season.

Sewing a women's hat with earflaps

Now I suggest you take a look at the second version of sewing a hat with earflaps, which I sewed for myself from silver fox fur. As a material, unnecessary pieces of fur and artificial leather (20.0 cm), lining fabric (15.0 cm), and synthetic winterizer (15.0 cm) were used.

Cutting preparation

Make a pattern according to the diagram below, the data is given without allowances for a head circumference of 54.0 cm.

Cutting lining pieces

Cut out the details of the lining of the crown from the lining fabric and synthetic winterizer:

Lining Processing

Connect the parts from the lining fabric and synthetic winterizer, as indicated in the previous master class.

Stitch the wedges of the crown together and secure the seams with finishing stitches.

Cutting out the details of the base

Cut out the details of the faux leather base:

Processing the crown of the top

Stitch and lay finishing stitches. To make the foot slide better on the skin, use a cotton swab and sunflower oil. There is also a simpler option - a Teflon foot.

Open the visor

Cut out the details of the visor from fur and artificial leather. Connect them, as in the previous master class.

Ear processing

Cutting details

The details of the ears are processed by the “unraveled” method, which means that the skins of the fur are cut into strips and combined with the skin. In this case, both parts of the ears, both outer and inner, will be made by this method. This method allows you to increase the consumption of material, and also gives originality to the product.

On skins and artificial leather, mark the width and number of stripes. The width of the fur strips is 1.5 cm, the width of the strips of their skin is 2.0 cm. If there is a limited amount of fur, then the width of the leather strips can be increased.

It took me 14 strips of fur and 10 strips of leather for one part of one ear. The fur should be cut with a special knife, but I always use a construction or clerical knife, the blade of which can always be updated and replaced. They cut the fur on weight, slightly pulling the skin away from themselves so that the pile does not fall under the knife.

Connection of details in dismissal

Connect the details of fur and leather to each other on a furrier machine, if you do not have such equipment, then you can use a small zigzag.

Part alignment

Split the seams with a hammer so that they become flat.

Then lightly moisten the parts with water, straighten and nail onto the board. When the parts dry, you will find that the seams have straightened out, and the surface of the mezra has become even.

Open ears

Now you can cut out the details of the ears:

At the same time, cut out the back parts of the ears, one of the fur (inner), the other of the skin (outer). Connect them to the parts of the ears.

Then connect the details of the ears to each other on a furrier or sewing machine. The next sequence of connecting parts and processing the cap is similar to the above master class.

decorative trim

Leather-wrapped buttons

After that, make a button for the center of the hat, take the button on the leg and cut a circle out of the leather.

Gather around the gather and tighten around the button.

Sewing a button on a hat

Sew a button into the center of the hat, pinning the lining at the same time.

Making pom-poms

Use the rest of the fur to make cute pompoms.
