I propose sew a baby hat for a girl, which is just right for the season.

p.s According to the same scheme, you can sew a panama hat for a boy, we will reduce the width of the fields.

The process won't take long. And the result will be beautiful and delight you and those around you, and most importantly - protect your baby's head from the sun.

Materials:

  • The main fabric is approximately a square of 0.5 x 0.5 m.
  • Thermal fabric for strengthening the fields 7 cm x 60 cm.
  • Threads in tone or in harmony with the color of the fabric
  • Bow (flower) for decoration (optional)
  • Tools (machine, scissors, basting needles)
  • Pattern

Panama pattern can be easily drawn by yourself according to this scheme:

To build a pattern to the desired size measure the circumference of your head and divide by 3.14 (Og/3.14=D)- this will be the diameter of the panama bottom.

The radius of the panama fields is calculated by the formula:

R2 \u003d Head circumference / 2 * 3.14 + panama field width (6-13 cm).

Tula - rectangle AB \u003d A1B1 - head circumference, AA1 \u003d BB1 - product depth (usually 9-10 cm.)

Solid geometry. ๐Ÿ™‚

We cut out the panama details from the prepared fabric (according to this pattern):

Add 1.5cm seam allowances.

Tula - 2 parts with a fold

Fields - 4 parts

Panama bottom 2 parts

We sew two identical panama hats.

1. Connect fields panama along the side seams. Iron the seams. You get two circles.

2. Connect the edges of the crown. Iron the seam.

Strengthen the panama fields with thermal fabric. Cut out according to the pattern WITHOUT seam allowances. We apply to the fields with a rough side down! We put the iron on the part and hold for 8 seconds. Alternately rearrange the iron to other parts of the part. Important: do not iron!!!

P.S. I made it in two parts (technical situation ๐Ÿ™‚). But better with one solid part.

3. We attach the bottom of the panama to the crown (face to face) using a basting or needles. Run on a typewriter.

4. Connect the parts of the panama (field and cap) together using a basting. Run on a typewriter.

5. Repeat with the rest of the details. You will get two identical blanks.

P.S. The fields of the inner panama can not be strengthened with thermal fabric.

6. โ€œFace to faceโ€ we put one panama into another.

7. We make a seam in a circle. Leave a hole to turn the product inside out.

8. We turn out our panama hat.

9. Close the hole. Iron well. Sew along the very edge of the panama fields.

10. Sew on a flower (bow), turning the front half of the fields to the cap.

We catch the model and try it on. ๐Ÿ™‚ Our Panama ready for a girl.

This panama is suitable not only for men, but also for women who prefer a sporty style.

Look at the photo, the panama sits tightly on the head, so it will not fly off in the wind, the wide brim reliably protects from the sun, and the denim and cotton lining are breathable.

The given size of the panama pattern from jeans is suitable for sizes 58-60. If you have more or less measurements, you can adjust the size of panama when trying on.

Build the details of the pattern on paper, there should be three of them: crowns, fields and bottom; cut out.

Rip old jeans at the seams, and cut out the details: 1 child. bottom; 2 children crowns and 2 children. fields. Since I had fabrics close to each other, I cut out a tulle from 4 parts, instead of the prescribed 2.

Do not forget about the seam allowances on each side of the part - about 0.7-1 cm.

Cut out the lining along the top pieces. For lining fabric, it is best to use natural fabrics - chintz, linen, calico, satin, etc. If the fabric is new, it must be washed and ironed with a hot iron to avoid shrinkage when washing panama.

How to sew a men's panama from jeans, a master class

We sew the details of the tulle from the main and lining fabric, iron the seams and, if desired, sew.

We tack the bottom to the crown of denim. We do a sample. If everything suits, we attach it on a sewing machine. If you are not satisfied with the size, we sew or embroider at the seams, achieving a good fit to the head.

We sew seams, if desired.

We do the same with the details of the lining fabric.

We glue interlining on an adhesive basis to the details of the fields from the lining fabric.

We sew the fields from the main and lining fabric along the short sides, iron the seams.

We sweep, and then we grind the edges of the fields along the departure on the sewing machine, cut the allowances to 3 mm.

We sew the upper edge of the fields, connecting the details of the top and lining.

We sweep, and then sew the fields on the sewing machine to the details of denim (crown + bottom).

Make sure that the side seams and the middle of the parts match!

Then with oblique stitches we sew the allowance of the crown from the lining fabric.

We sharpen the panama fields with finishing lines to the width of the foot.

That's all! As you can see, having spent quite a bit of time, everyone can sew a men's panama from jeans with their own hands.

If you have children in your family, then you know how necessary a hat or cap is needed in summer to protect the child's head from the sun's rays. Try to sew such a children's hat with your own hands. Such a children's hat is quite suitable not only for a girl, but also for a boy. Such a panama model can even be sewn for your daughter's doll.

Video how to sew an original women's (or for a girl's) summer double-sided panama.

How to make a pattern of a children's panama hat

The pattern of this panama hat model is simple, and the hat itself will be sewn from only two identical parts. So that you can immediately start sewing a panama hat, I am enclosing a pattern of this panama hat completely free of charge. Pattern without allowances, do not forget to add them during cutting.

In order for you to have a pattern for this panama hat, you will need a printer and adhesive tape.
If you have both, then select each image of the pattern and save them to the "Desktop" of your computer or in a special folder. Then open each image in any graphic editor, for example "Paint" and print them in full size (100%).

Dimensions: B - (solid line) pattern for a child 12-24 months. K - (dotted line) pattern for a child 2-4 years old, C - from 4 to 6 years old

Pay attention to the points 20cm (15cm) and 23cm. These are the control values โ€‹โ€‹\u200b\u200bneeded to check the pattern after printing on the printer. If, after printing the pattern, the lower horizontal of the left side is 20 cm (right -15 cm), and the vertical (the line connecting both parts of the pattern) is 23 cm, then the dimensions of the pattern are correct. If this data is slightly different, then you will need to adjust the printer's print settings or expand the pattern in any way you know how, for example, cut it (in glued form) vertically and horizontally and move the pieces apart a little.

Both parts of the pattern are glued with adhesive tape, then outlined on the fabric and this part is rotated along the fold line. Add allowances (1 cm) along the contour and cut out.

To avoid damaging the paper, print out this test square first. If its sides are 13 cm, then you can print the details of the panama pattern.

The technology of sewing a children's summer panama

Sewing this panama hat with your own hands is not difficult at all, it is enough to cut out two identical parts of the cap from the same material or combine it as in my master class.
Then pin them together with pins, or baste by folding both pieces right sides inward.

Sew these parts on a sewing machine along the winding outline of the panama hat, with an allowance of 1 cm, as shown in the photo.
Be sure to leave a small area not sewn up, within 5-7 cm.

To make the panama look neat when finished, be sure to notch the sections that are concave inward, as shown in this photo. Notch carefully so as not to cut the seam thread.

Convex sections, on the contrary, need to be cut off. In this case, these curved sections will lay out well.

How to turn out a panama hat

Now you need to find the hole left unsewn and turn the panama hat through it onto your face.

Turn it out carefully so as not to tear the connecting seam.

This is how the panama panama turned out, outwardly, something similar to a sea stingray.

Finishing stitch along the edge of the hat

In order for the seam to lay out neatly and evenly, be sure to secure it with oblique stitches after turning out the panama hat, as shown in the photo.

Iron along the outline of the panama hat, making sure the seam runs exactly along the rib.

The hole through which you turned the hat inside out also needs to be ironed, with the same allowance.

You will have to sew up the hole manually, with neat, inconspicuous stitches.

After that, you will only have to make one or two finishing lines along the contour of the panama hat.

Lay the finishing line along the edge of the panama on the wrong side, retreating from the edge of 2 mm. If you are going to do only one line, you can retreat a little more.

The edge of the panama, processed with two finishing lines, it seems to me, will be more beautiful.

How to make buttonholes on a panama hat

On the panama pattern there is a buttonhole marking for each of the three hat sizes. Transfer this marking to the panama hat, mark the length of the buttonhole and sew the buttonhole on the sewing machine.

Now, with the help of a ripper, you need to cut the loops, making sure not to damage the threads of the loop.

How to adjust panama size

If you make a mistake with the size of the hat, or your child grows, the size of the hat can be easily changed.

To do this, just increase or decrease the distance between the buttons that you sewed on the back of the panama.

This hat will look so cute and original on the back of the head of your child or doll.

It is better to put a soft cotton fabric inside such a panama.

By the summer: hat, cap, panama, bandana. patterns

Hat. At any time of the year, on the streets of the city, beaches, cafes, you can meet a representative of the weaker sex in a headdress that has come to us through centuries of thorns. This is a women's hat with a brim, which is popular with women, especially in summer, during the beach season.
It turns out that sewing a hat with brim is not so difficult. To do this, we need a small amount of material that you come up with yourself, at your discretion, a hat pattern and, of course, a good mood. The scheme of the hat pattern proposed by us consists of three parts: the bottom, the crown and the brim.
After a little time and a lot of effort, you will get a completely stylish women's hat with fields that can be worn almost everywhere. Most importantly, it will protect your head from the sun, rain, wind.

Cap

Throughout the twentieth century, the cap was a headdress for different strata and classes of society. It was worn by leaders and presidents, punks and thieves, athletes and scientists. Everyone managed to use this headdress as the main, unshakable attribute of outerwear.
Today, absolutely everyone wears a cap: from children to pensioners and the elderly. As a rule, in the stores of the city the caps are the same. There is none that no one else has. And women want individuality. You have to search the Internet for a cap pattern and start sewing. This is what we will do with you now!
As for the pattern, you donโ€™t need to look for it, it is there. It is on this cap pattern that we will create a new headdress that no one in your city has! This cap pattern consists of ten parts: six wedges, two visors and two bands.
It is very easy to sew a cap according to the presented pattern. The main thing is to know what's what. The first thing to do is to transfer the cap pattern onto paper, leaving 1 centimeter for seams. Then you need to sew the wedges together. This will be the bottom of our cap. Then you need to sew the lining of the cap. The most important part is the visor. It must be cut out and sewn neatly. In order for the visor of the cap to be rigid, you need to make a special non-woven insert of the same size. If not, you can use regular cardboard. Then we attach the visor to the crown. To them a ring. That's all! The cap is ready!
So, with the help of a cap pattern, we sewed a new headdress that can be worn anytime and anywhere!

Panama

Summer in Russia is very hot. Sometimes, you don't even want to go outside. Hunt just lay on the couch and sleep all day. Only in the evening the sun sometimes reduces the level of exposure to its bright rays, and people roll out onto the streets.
But you have to walk in hot weather, at its highest peak. Either to work, then to the grocery store, or even just to the city beach - to sunbathe. Every time we go outside on a sultry hot day, we have the opportunity to get a violent sunstroke and end up in the hospital. In order to prevent such incidents from happening, people came up with a light summer hat, which I suggest you sew at your leisure.
Using the panama pattern I proposed, you can easily and quickly sew a stylish, light, and most importantly, a hat that is safe under the sun. Panama pattern will help you to correctly assess all the dimensions and dimensions of fabrics and material.

Bandana

The bandana itself, as an element of clothing, entered the life of people long before the appearance of berets, caps and hats. Its roots stretch from the days of the wild west, when travelers protected their airways from dust by tying bandanas around their necks.
Today it is used more for decorative and aesthetic purposes than for protection from the sun and dust. Although, to pay tribute, after many years, the bandana does not cease to be one of the best headwear that interrupts the scorching rays of the sun. According to this bandana pattern, you can sew it in half an hour.
Of course, this is the time that will go to the tailoring of the bandana itself. For sewing, you need to select the material. In principle, any elastic, but not dense fabric is suitable for this headdress. It can be leather, linen, soft drape, denim. Anything, The main thing is that the material matches these two important qualities.
After working with the bandana pattern, you can process its edges, apply decorative accessories at your discretion. That's all! Bandana is ready! Now it can be worn on the head, covering the head from the scorching sun in the hot summer, on the belt, on the neck or on the arm. The main thing is that it is combined with your style of clothing.

The long-awaited season of the year is not far off - summer. During the long winter days, we all missed the summer sun so much. I want to bask in its warm rays as soon as possible.

But, despite this desire, one must always remember that solar energy is fraught with danger. It is especially important to protect our children, because enjoying the summer weather, they are ready to spend playing outside all day long. How to protect children from such an insidious sun?

Of course, the main protectors are hats. They protect the heads of the kids, covering them with themselves. Summer hats are diverse. These are caps, scarves, berets, baseball caps, bandanas, hats, and of course panamas. It is the children's panama that our today's master class will be devoted to.

Surely every girl has a little dream to have in her wardrobe a large selection of panama hats, for every summer outfit. Our master class will help mothers or grandmothers make this wish come true, as it is very easy to sew a panama hat for a girl with your own hands. To do this, you only need to choose the right matter and you can get down to business.

So, what materials and tools will be needed in order to sew a summer panama for a girl? And not just a panama hat, but a double-sided panama hat, thanks to which its functionality increases.

Materials for sewing a children's panama hat:

  1. Textile. For summer children's clothes, always choose fabrics with a natural composition, as only such material will protect babies from the sweltering heat. In this master class, we will show you how to sew a double-sided panama, so you need to prepare two pieces of fabric, 30 cm each, with a width of 110 cm. When choosing a material, pay attention to the quality of its coloring so that the fabric does not โ€œshedโ€ when you cut. It is advisable to select a fabric with a similar composition in order to avoid shrinkage of one relative to the other. For the same purpose, before cutting, the fabrics must be subjected to decatization, that is, washed or steamed.
  2. Sewing threads in tone.
  3. Needles, pins.
  4. Tailor's chalk or disappearing fabric marker.
  5. Scissors.

Panama (panama) pattern with fields for a girl:

The next thing to prepare is a panama pattern. Print it out on A4 paper and cut it out.

If you plan to use the pattern repeatedly, we advise you to transfer it to ordinary plastic wrap, as it is more durable than paper.

How to sew a panama hat for a girl with your own hands - a master class with a photo:

So, having prepared all the details of the pattern, you can start cutting out a children's panama hat with fields. Lay out the fabric in one layer and use pins to secure the top part of the crown (piece #1). Observe the direction of the share thread. Circle with chalk, remembering to transfer all control marks.

Cut this piece out with a 1.5cm seam allowance.

Now fold the fabric in two layers.

And pin the pattern of the lower part of the tulle (detail No. 2) with pins, aligning the detail with the fold line of the fabric. Don't forget to transfer the part alignment marks.

Cut out this part with the same allowances as the previous one.

In the same way, cut out part No. 3 - panama fields.

This is the finished detail for one side of the panama. From another piece of fabric, you should cut out all the same details for the second side of the panama.

Fasten the lower part of the crown of the panama folded in half with pins to prevent the fabric from shifting.

Sew a seam on the sewing machine, stepping back from the edge of 1.5 cm.

Seam allowances must be ironed out.

In the same way, a seam is made on the crown of the second (red) side of the panama.

Now connect the lower part of the crown with pins to its upper part, while aligning the control mark A on both parts. If you are not used to using pins for basting, you can sweep these parts with hand stitches.

This is what it looks like from the inside.

Sew these parts on the sewing machine, leaving a 1.5 cm allowance.

Delete the note. Unscrew the allowances on the bottom of the crown panama.

Turn out the resulting part.

To fix the allowances in the desired position, lay the machine line along the seam, at a distance of 3 mm.

Do the same with the red (second) part of the children's panama.
Now let's prepare the panama fields. To do this, fasten the parts folded in half with the right side inward with pins.

Sew a seam with a 1.5 cm allowance on the sewing machine.

Also iron the allowances in different directions.

The fields of the second side of panama are performed similarly.

Fold the finished fields of both sides of the panama with the front sides to each other. Fasten with pins.

Sew the margins on the sewing machine along the outer edge.

To remove excess thickness, cut the allowances close to the line.

Turn panama brim right side out.

Iron them well.

Now the fields must be stitched along the outer edge at a distance of 7mm. This is necessary to fix the layers. If you want to give panama fields additional rigidity, then you can lay a few more lines in the same way at a distance of 1 cm arcs from each other. But we decided this time to leave it as it is.

Fix the open inner sections of the fields with each other using hand stitches.

At the bottom of the crown of the red side, also lay a line of hand stitches. By pulling the ends of the thread, gather it up a little, while evenly distributing the folds.

Connect with pins panama fields and tulle (red) as shown in the photo. Don't forget to align mark B.

Then sew on the sewing machine.

Iron the allowances towards the crown.

On the second (green) tulle, iron the allowances along the lower cut to the wrong side.

Insert this part of the tulle into the already prepared panama, aligning the wrong sides. Connect them together with pins or sweep with hand stitches.

Turn out panama.

Sew the tulle to the panama fields.

Reversible children's panama is ready to delight your little girl. If desired, it can be supplemented with some kind of removable decoration.
