A simple envelope for a baby with knitting needles:

This winter baby carrier is simple and practical and can be worn up to 6 months.

To tie a beautiful envelope, we need the following additional tools:

  • gentle children's pekhorka - 3 skeins;
  • light yarn for framing - 20 g;
  • children's buttons - 10 pcs.;
  • standard knitting needles of suitable thickness.

General progress of work. A children's envelope is performed as follows: knitting begins with a narrow part for the legs, gradually expanding upwards.

A simple pattern of horizontal stripes is knitted in the following available way: 2 R 1IP, 4LP, 4IP, 6LP. A similar patterned composition is repeated 4 times.

Knitting the front. We collect 25P on a small winter envelope. 1P - LP, 2P - IP. In faces. R you need to add 3 P on each side. Then add 2p 4 times. In each 4 P, we increase by 1P on each side of the envelope. With 32 P, the additions end, the pattern begins with horizontal stripes. We knit a soft envelope for the crumbs right up to 48 R, here you need to cut 6P on each side. Now we make a horizontal stripe pattern, in general, 4 pairs of similar stripes should come out. In each 4 R we make reductions of 1 P. In persons. R must be reduced 14 times by 1P. We close the remaining loops, we knit a planochka for a small envelope separately:

Performing the back. A small back for an envelope is made in a similar way, only here we do not make reductions for fasteners.

Sleeves. We collect 30 P, we knit 6 R with a regular shawl pattern. We perform another 8 R with the front surface, we begin to make increases of 1P on both sides 4 times in each 4 R. From 24 R, we perform decreases of 1P on each side in faces. R. When 30P remains on the knitting needle, we begin to cut the loops in front. and in out. R. We knit like this until 4 Ps remain on the knitting needles, close the sleeve. In a similar way, we perform the second sleeve.

Planochki for fasteners on our winter envelope are made separately. For such an envelope, you will need 4 straps, 2 with holes for buttons, 2 simple straps. We collect 7 P we knit 36 cm of the back bar. The length of the front straps is 32 cm, we make holes for buttons on them. Leave loops for buttons after 2 cm.

Hood. We collect 17 P, 4P we perform faces, then we knit vertical stripes. In each 7 R, we perform 1 P additions on the left side. 6 P we do facial without changes. Next, add 5 P on the left side. We knit 4 rows in vertical stripes, then we mirror the second part of the hood.

On the hood of the envelope we knit a bar, picking up loops along the edge of the product. 6 P is the usual garter stitch, 4 P - all LP. We sew all the details of a warm envelope and thoroughly steam it in finished form.

In addition to comfortable envelopes for babies, you can knit an original children's blanket for a newborn, which will warm him in cool weather. Do not overload a warm blanket with thick decorative elements, as they can put pressure on the delicate skin of the baby.

  • 3 skeins of black baby yarn;
  • 2 skeins of white children's acrylic;

Standard needles 2mm, circular knitting tool 2.5mm.

General recommendations for knitting a baby blanket: we knit two-color squares with a regular front surface. To prevent a simple jacquard pattern from stretching, it is performed with a special intarsia technique, when the threads used are crossed tightly with each other from the wrong side, without forming unpleasant stretch marks. We knit a lot of identical squares, then we sew one knitted square with another. When all parts of the plaid are neatly sewn, we knit a circular edging using ordinary garter knitting.

General description of the progress of the work. We carry out square 1 for our cute plaid: we collect 26P on the knitting needles with the main dark thread, we knit with the usual front surface according to the proposed scheme. Persons P scheme is read from right to left, out. R - left to right. To simplify the knitting process and not get confused in the balls, you can use a separate ball for each colored section. Having knitted 38 P of the general scheme, we close the first square for our blanket:

We knit the second standard square: with the second finishing thread we collect 26 P along the edge of 1 connected square. We knit jacquard according to the scheme, changing the colors to the opposite. We knit a two-color plaid with knitting needles in this way until 9 identical squares come out horizontally. Then we knit 6 more such identical strips, connect them with a hidden seam. We steam the children's blanket, then we carry out knitted edging around the entire perimeter. To do this, we raise 172 P along one side edge. Directly knit 1P LP. Now we alternate the threads: 2P with the main thread, 2P yarn for finishing, 2P with the main thread, 1P with the finishing thread. To complete the upper frame of the plaid, you need to lift 5P from the side bar and 175P from the top to the circular tools. We knit, alternating the tones of the thread in the same way. A simple and original blanket is ready to delight and warm the baby. Every loving mother can create warm bedding for newborns.

Patterns describing knitting envelopes for newborns

Knitting a walking envelope is sometimes easier than it might seem at first glance. Most often, even a pattern and diagrams are not needed. You need to stock up only with threads, patience and the desire to dress up the baby. If you are preparing to become a mother, or want to give a gift for the birth of a friend's baby, but do not know the gender of the unborn child, then it is better to knit a universal envelope for a newborn for discharge. In winter, an envelope in the form of a snowman will be very relevant. Such a blanket - an envelope for a newborn can be tried on for both a girl and a boy.

To knit an envelope for a newborn with knitting needles, schemes are not needed in this case, it is enough to consider the description and collect the necessary material:

- yarn (wool, wool mixture) 7 skeins;
- buttons 5 pcs. can be of different colors;
- needle;
- knitting needles No7, No8.

To knit an envelope for an extract with knitting needles, you will use the following patterns in your work:

Pearl, in which 2 facial loops and 2 purl loops alternate in the first row,

The following rows are knitted like this: over the front - purl and vice versa .;

- garter stitch.

We start knitting a baby envelope for a newborn from the back and sleeves.

Cast on 44 stitches. 6 cm knit in garter stitch with needles No7, and go to the pearl pattern with needles No8.

After 25 cm, we make decreases: 1 loop on each side.

And after another 10 cm of knitting, 1 decrease is made on each side.

Do not forget to mark the places of decrease with colored threads.

After 70 cm from the beginning of the canvas, close 12 loops in the middle, and mark the shoulder with a thread of a different color. Measurements will go from this shoulder line.

Divide the knitting into 2 knitting needles (24 loops on each).

We knit shelves from the sleeve of a knitted baby envelope for a newborn.

On the needle we have 24 loops for the shelf. The left shelf will be of 5 rows, and then it starts to make a rounded neck. To do this, cast on 1 chain stitch, and on every other row, chain 2, then 3 and 4, for a total of 34 stitches.

Work 8 stitches in garter stitch. This will be the plank.

The length of the strap should be 37 cm. For the first loop, knit 3 cm and make 5 loops every 7.5. cm. From the shoulder line 12.5 cm to the bevel.

Bind off 6 sts, then 4. 24 sts remain on needle, of which 8 sts are garter st. We knit until the strap is 37 cm long. The strap is knitted with an orientation to those marks that were made earlier.

The second strap is knitted in the same way.

To connect the shelves of the front part of the envelope for a newborn, spread the product so that the shelf with eyelets slightly covers the second bar. Slip the strap stitches onto the third needle (alternate stitches from both straps for a total of 16 pieces)

Now the two planks will be knitted together 2 loops at a time.

The length corresponds to the back of the extract envelope.

Switch to needle size 7 and work 6 cm in garter stitch. Close the loops.

Our baby blanket must have a hood.

It is knitted with No7 needles. 6 cm in garter stitch from 52 loops. then knit with a pearl pattern, switching to knitting needles No. 8.

Decrease 1 st on each side on every 4th row. They are made until 42 loops remain. Continuing without decreasing, you should reach a height of 14 cm. Now you need to make a rounding similar to that used when knitting the heel of the sock (divide the loops into three knitting needles of 14). Knit the side parts, closing the loops in the middle.

Sew the hood from the main part of the envelope along the neck line.

It is better to knit the cuffs of the envelope for an extract with knitting needles separately and sew them on later. They are knitted from 22 loops along the edge of the sleeve, we use knitting needles No. 7. The cuffs will be 6 cm in height in garter stitch. Then the loops can be closed.

Hello! If you have ever set out to knit an envelope for a newborn, then perhaps this short review of such children's sleeping bags, popular on the Internet, will come in handy.

Such an envelope, or a sleeping bag for a newborn, is primarily interesting because it is very convenient to use - they simply put the baby on a diaper, covered it with the upper part and fastened it with buttons.

And knitting it is not difficult at all, and if desired, even a beginner knitter can cope with this task. In this article, I specifically want to dwell on this one - the easiest design to knit: without sleeves, any complex patterns, reductions, or additions of loops. And judging by the number of photos on the Internet, this model has a lot of followers:

Pay attention to the differences in knitting the straps for the fastener - on the blue envelope they are tied separately, and on the white envelope they are tied together with the main fabric in garter stitch and fastened in the opposite direction.

Knitting such a sleeping bag is really very simple. You just need to knit a rectangle of the required size and fold it across, leaving a longer part for the hood. Then the hood is sewn along the upper edge of the rectangle (fold in half lengthwise face to face and sew). Button plackets can be tied at the edges separately.

In the photo above, the envelopes are tied with an additional 2x2 ribbing at the top. But in principle, you can do without this detail:

There is no special pattern for knitting such sleeping bags, but the proportions of the rectangle should be approximately 1:3. That is, if you have decided how wide your sleeping bag should be, picked up the loops and started knitting, then you need to knit in centimeters 3 times more than your width.

Then conditionally divide the total length of the rectangle into 3 parts, and approximately half, or even 2/3 of this part (at your discretion) will fall on the hood. Here's something more clear:

Or you can not bathe with proportions at all - the main thing is to decide on the width, and then simply determine the length by eye during the knitting process (as I often do).

In the models shown in the photo, the envelope itself is knitted with a pattern from a combination of the front surface and double braid, and the hood and straps for fasteners - with a regular 2 × 2 elastic band. But you can dream up and knit the main detail with any other pattern you like, decorate the sleeping bag with embroidery, jacquard, and the hood with, for example, a pom-pom or a tassel.

Yes, and straps for fasteners can not be tied separately later, but immediately knit garter stitch along with the whole fabric. And if you don’t want to make welt buttonholes on the straps, then you can use buttons instead of buttons.

I repeat that I liked the idea itself - and the color and composition of the yarn, patterns, additional decorations for such a sleeping bag can be very different - according to your tastes, skills and preferences.

Here are a few more photos for children's sleeping bags of a similar design that I saw on the Internet:

And by the way, if you want to additionally insulate such a sleeping bag, then you can sew a lining to it - either just from a flannel, or additionally with a padding polyester:

How many loops to cast on, how much yarn will be needed, what loop calculation to do - all this is very individual and depends on the thickness of the yarn, the size of the product, the pattern and knitting density. I think that it will not be difficult for you to make the appropriate calculations for your particular case.

Knit with joy, and let everyone be cozy and warm from your hands. See you soon!

The envelope is an integral part of the wardrobe of a newborn baby: they are discharged from the hospital in it, and they go for walks. If you knit a warm envelope for a newborn with your own hands, you will get a unique little thing that suits your baby in color and size and carries mother's love.

Choose a model

Envelopes can be very diverse:

  • cocoon or sleeping bag with a hood;
  • a cocoon with sleeves and a hood trimmed with decorative knitted details (animal ears, lace), as well as tassels, cords, beautiful buttons, etc.);
  • a blanket for a newborn, in which the baby is wrapped for a walk.

All of them have their own characteristics. For the most part, knitted envelopes in the form of a cocoon are quite spacious, the child will “fall through” in them. Therefore, before knitting such an envelope for a newborn on your own, you need to carefully calculate the dimensions of the product, in which the baby would fit tightly in an envelope in his warm clothes. And this also means that the baby will quickly grow out of such a thing.

Knitted cocoons with sleeves, in addition, free for the movement of the handle. An example of such an envelope is in the next video.

But, firstly, a newborn baby still does not need so much freedom, and secondly, it will be warmer for him if the arms are swaddled to the body. Therefore, from the point of view of common sense, it is better to prefer other options.

For example, an envelope that can be knitted like a warm blanket with knitting needles of the selected number. Its difference from the usual blanket is in the presence of a hood for the head. In such a model, a newborn baby is always wrapped tightly - this is the time. It knits easier - these are two. Such a knitted blanket can also be used for its intended purpose for longer: the dimensions allow - this is three. Well, the fourth bonus - such a blanket for a newborn can be used, and when the baby grows up: to cover on walks in a stroller or even in a home crib.

Design features

Such gizmos for newborns are always made on a lining: either they are cut out of warm materials (for example, fleece), or they are knitted from natural soft yarn with a smooth pattern: hosiery or garter knitting. Considering that winters have become more and more severe in recent years, it would be a reasonable option to use an insulating layer between the envelope and the lining (from sheep's wool, synthetic winterizer).

Sleeping bags are fastened on the sides with buttons or a zipper (buttons are extremely inconvenient here). For buttons, you will also have to tie straps for fasteners.

For beginner needlewomen, it is better to stop at simpler models, consisting of a straight linen, which is sewn on top, forming a hood. Consider two of them: an envelope for a newborn with side fasteners and in the form of a blanket. For work you will need:

  • natural woolen yarn (very good for mohair tops) or acrylic yarn;
  • knitting needles No. 3.5 and 2.5;
  • fleece or other warm lining material (if it is knitted, then acrylic yarn);
  • threads and a needle for sewing on the lining and fasteners;
  • zipper or buttons.

Control samples

In order to calculate the exact number of loops for a set, control samples of the selected pattern are knitted with those knitting needles and from the yarn that will be used when knitting an envelope or blanket. Patterns for such gizmos can be very voluminous: with braids, plaits, convex details. The number of loops is dialed, taking into account the size of the future thing and the rapport of the pattern (sometimes you need to dial more loops to completely fit the pattern).

Product dimensions

For a children's knitted envelope-sleeping bag, a width of about 40 cm is needed (of which 4 cm on each side must be subtracted by the width of the straps for fasteners, if the thing is fastened with buttons). In length, it will be 125 cm: 25 - on the hood, the remaining 100 cm, bent in half - the envelope itself.

To knit a warm blanket with your own hands, you need to dial loops up to 80 cm wide. (We take 1 meter in length - a blanket of this size will last longer).

Pattern selection

This master class shows a model that is knitted with braids.

But you can rip out any other pattern you like.

The principle of knitting and assembling an envelope

The knitting of the canvas of the winter children's envelope begins with a strap (when assembled, it will frame the product on the chest of the newborn): we knit 4 centimeters with a garter stitch or 1x1 elastic band. Then continue to work with the selected pattern to the desired length, after which the loops are closed from the second edge (the bar is not needed here - this edge will go into the seam of the hood).

Further, it all depends on the fastener. The zipper does not require a special strap, so initially the fabric is knitted to its full width. To sew on buttons, loops are selected along the edge from the sides of the winter children's envelope and knit the same 4 cm of elastic or garter stitch. The loops are closed, the ends of the threads are tucked in. Next, the upper edge of the winter children's envelope is folded in half and sewn together - a hood is obtained.

The lining, if it is also knitted, is made equal to the width and length of the envelope, excluding trims. If the fastener is planned with a zipper, then the dimensions of the lining are equal to the dimensions of the envelope, excluding the top bar (this was the beginning of knitting). Next, a winter children's envelope is folded face to face with a lining, a heater is placed between them and all layers are sewn together, leaving the top bar not sewn - the product is turned out through it. If a zipper was planned, it is inserted between the lining and the front layer. If the buttons - evenly sew them to the product, having previously marked the bar. Now you need to carefully connect the lining to the top bar and steam off the finished winter envelope for the newborn.

How to knit a children's winter blanket

A plaid with knitting needles is even easier to knit. The whole fabric is knitted with the selected pattern, starting and ending knitting with the same 4 cm of elastic. Then the sides of the plaid are tied with an elastic band, choosing loops from the edge.

After that, a square of approximately 25X25 cm is knitted with a small pattern (garter stitch, “rice”). Now a heater and a lining are also sewn to the plaid, cutting them out without taking into account the elastic. The connected square is bent in half, its insulation is laid inside and sewn with the resulting angle into one of the corners of the plaid so that it forms a hood.

Sometimes mothers knit a blanket with their own hands from square motifs, which are then sewn together. In this case, the edging with an elastic band is completely knitted at the end of the work. The rest of the process is carried out similarly to the previous description.

Instead of an elastic band, you can knit decorative cloves or lace - it all depends on the degree of splendor of the plaid and the level of skill of the knitter mom.

Such a winter children's blanket can be included in bedding for newborns: it can play the role of a blanket and bedspread in a crib, it is convenient for them to cover a baby in a stroller for a walk, it is more plastic than a synthetic winterizer blanket, for example. It is convenient to massage the baby on it and swaddle it. In addition, a thing knitted with your own hands is always exclusive.

It is customary to pick up a child for discharge from the hospital in an envelope for newborns. To choose the most suitable model, it is important to consider all possible options.

When choosing the first clothes for a baby, the time of year plays an important role. Envelopes are made with Velcro, ties or buttons.

The advantages of the envelope include:

When the child begins to hold his head and be interested in the world around him, the envelope will be out of place. It is better to pay attention to the overalls, it can be used longer. Overalls are often made universal: at the bottom everything is fixed with buttons, and a zipper is sewn between the legs. It is used when the baby begins to walk.

The main criteria for choosing an envelope

An envelope is a thing that can protect from wind and cold. Previously, envelopes were made simply: a warm blanket was folded and tied with a satin ribbon.

Before buying, the goods are evaluated according to the following characteristics:

  • seasonality, outdoor temperature - winter, summer, spring, autumn;
  • gender of the newborn;
  • workmanship - how it is stitched;
  • composition of the material - naturalness;
  • how practical and functional;
  • details, appearance.

Material and accessories

Carefully trimmed side seams will relieve the delicate skin of the child from possible irritation and chafing.

Also use heaters:

  • alpolux– hypoallergenic material of Austrian production. Perfectly retains heat, composed of Merino wool;
  • thinsulate- artificial swan down from the USA. Superior in quality to synthetic winterizer;
  • isosoft- Belgian material of good quality, but with a high price.

Clothing for newborns should have fittings:

Before making a purchase, all items of clothing are checked for serviceability. The accessories should not come into contact with the face of the child.

Color design

An envelope for an extract from the maternity hospital for a newborn is selected based on the gender of the child.

Colors found in stores:

  • blue;
  • pink;
  • white;
  • golden.

Envelope size

Manufacturers of children's clothing offer average size options, since it is impossible to know the exact weight and height of a child before birth. For winter time, it is advised to buy a looser envelope.

There is a size grid:

  1. For fragile babies - from 2.8 to 3.3 kg.
  2. For children of average weight and height - 3.3 - 3.5 kg.
  3. For large newborns - from 4 to 6 kg.

Varieties of envelopes

Envelopes differ in seasonality. Newborns do not have a thermoregulatory system, so it is important to choose the right clothes.

  3. Fur layer - 0.9 m x 1.5 m.
  4. 2 zippers of 50 cm - detachable, 1 zip - 25 cm.
  5. Colored threads.
  6. 4 buttons.
  7. Long cord, enough 1.2 m.

  2. 3 the part is folded along the cut, sewn together, the seam is ironed on 1 side, decorated with a zigzag, honeycomb stitch or double cross.
  3. Next comes the top coat and insulation. The main layer is placed on the synthetic winterizer with the wrong side and fixed with needles. All parts are stitched on a sewing machine around the perimeter and processed as a single layer of fabric.
  4. 1 blank is taken and sewn along the length on a typewriter, retreating from the edge of 10 cm. On 1 part, the middle is marked in width, on 2 parts - along the length. The patterns are folded in front, combining the marked middles, fixed with needles and sewn together.
  5. Short sections of parts 1 and 2 are connected. They are sewn together and the bottom of the envelope is obtained.
  6. Pattern 3 is connected to pattern 2 and sewn together.
  7. Similarly, you need to do with fur details (you should only start after sewing in all the zippers). When parts 2 and 3 of the fur are sewn together, a cut 10 cm long is left so that the product turns inside out.
  8. 1 part of a detachable zipper is sewn to 1 part. 2 half zippers are sewn to 3 parts from the bottom.
  9. A zipper is sewn on the other side of the envelope, where the hood will be. The middle is marked there, and a 25 cm zipper is sewn in. The unclosed section is tucked up and processed.
  10. A cord is taken, 2 pieces of 10 cm are cut off, folded into loops. In the upper corners, 3 parts of the loop are fixed and sewn. They should be directed towards the center.
  11. A part of the fur is connected to the upper fabric, laying the figures with the front side inward.
  12. On 1 blank, 3 cm retreats from the place of the sewn-in zipper and a mark is placed. There will be a cord.
  13. The envelope is sewn along the edges, the product is turned inside out through a slit in the fur and the corners are straightened. The hole is finished with a sewing machine or a blind stitch. When fastening the zipper at the top, you get a hood.
  14. At a distance of 3 cm from the edge of the hood, a line is sewn, a drawstring is obtained, where the cord will be threaded. It is inserted, at the ends it is fixed to the knots.
  15. Buttons are sewn on the hood and along the length of the main zipper at a distance of 15 cm from them.

Standard decorations are voluminous bows and satin ribbons. Bows are made from different fabrics, decorated with pearls or embroidered with beautiful threads.

How to decorate:

  • Envelopes are decorated with lace, stacking it in several layers.
  • Flower petals are created from satin ribbons, which are then sewn together, complemented with beads or rhinestones.
  • Drawings intended for fabric are bought. They are glued, sewn or attached with heat.
  • Thematic envelopes are gaining great popularity when they make bunny ears or an envelope in the form of a kinder surprise.
  • Small decorative pom-poms are sewn around the perimeter of the envelopes.

An envelope for an extract from the hospital is the first necessary thing for a newborn.

The shops present standard sets, but handmade ones are more relevant and original. A person can choose the design down to the smallest detail. The price is more expensive, but the performance and appearance are worth the money.
