Beautiful, smooth and velvety facial skin is the main condition for female charm. But, unfortunately, not many can boast of an excellent appearance and impeccable skin condition, because very often the picture is overshadowed by various cosmetic defects that can appear at any age. Despite the fact that modern cosmetics manufacturers offer a wide variety of skin care products for any type of skin and every woman can choose the right product for herself in accordance with her financial capabilities and personal preferences, for many women, natural cosmetics remain a priority.

Among the most commonly used natural remedies in cosmetology, designed to improve the condition of the skin of the face and eliminate various cosmetic defects, tea tree oil is especially popular. This product has a powerful anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antifungal, bactericidal, antiviral and wound-healing effect, effectively copes with inflammation and irritation of the skin, eliminates swelling, itching, redness, and restores healthy skin texture. Tea tree oil is an indispensable tool for oily and problem skin, prone to pustular and acne, acne and inflammatory infiltrates.

Tea tree oil is a clear, oily liquid with a light yellow or light olive hue, with a specific aroma reminiscent of camphor. This product is produced from the leaves and young shoots of the tea tree (melaleuca) by distillation with water (distillation). It should be noted that the duration of the processing of raw materials directly affects the quality and chemical composition of the final product: the longer the distillation takes, the better the quality of the oil obtained. Natural essential oil is packaged exclusively in dark glass containers with special closures. If the product is poured into a container made of transparent glass or plastic, then it is most likely a fake.

Tea tree oil has a truly unique chemical composition. Currently, it is known that this product includes more than 100 complex compounds - terpenes, among which the most active antibacterial components are linalool, terpinen-4-ol and cineol (eucalyptol). It is noteworthy that the composition of tea tree leaf oil also contains substances that are practically not found anywhere else in nature - these are B-terpineol, L-terpineol, viridiflorene and allihexanoate.

The quality of an essential oil is determined by the percentage of terpinen-4-ol and cineole. The concentration of the first component must be at least 30%, and the amount of the second must be within 15%. For cosmetic purposes, it is recommended to use ether, in which the content of cineole does not exceed 5%, since such a product does not dry the skin and does not cause irritation.

Tea tree oil for the face can be used not only as a medicine designed to eliminate foci of inflammation, acne and various dermatological diseases, but also as a preventive measure. This product has a pronounced anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect, and in addition, it performs a number of other functions:

  • restores lipid balance in skin cells;
  • contributes to the normalization of the sebaceous glands;
  • improves complexion, removes yellowness and dullness;
  • lightens age spots of any origin;
  • eliminates greasy shine and comedones;
  • refreshes and tones the skin;
  • accelerates the healing of cracks and other damage;
  • eliminates irritation and itching;
  • helps to get rid of acne, acne and dermatitis.

Although tea tree essential oil is generally well tolerated, there are contraindications for its use. These include pregnancy, mental disorders, epilepsy, hypertension, infectious and viral skin diseases of unknown etiology, as well as individual intolerance and allergy to odors. Therefore, before using the ether for medicinal or cosmetic purposes, it is necessary to carry out an olfactory test and a skin sensitivity test in order to make sure that the aroma is well tolerated and that there is no allergy to the topical application of the product.

Tips for using tea tree oil for the face

Since tea tree essential oil is a concentrated remedy, it must be used carefully, avoiding contact with mucous membranes and strictly following the recommended dosages. It should be remembered that this product is used only externally and is dosed not in milliliters, like base oils, but exclusively in drops. In addition, there are a few more simple rules regarding the use of aromatic ether at home:

  • Tea tree oil is not recommended to be applied in its pure form on large areas of the skin, as this can cause severe irritation or burns. Undiluted, individual pimples, wounds and cracks can be treated using a cotton swab. In all other cases, the concentrate should be diluted with water or mixed with other components.
  • Cosmetic mixtures containing ether should not be heated too much, because under the influence of high temperatures it loses its beneficial properties.
  • Before applying masks with tea tree ether, the skin of the face should be cleaned of impurities, slightly steamed and wiped dry with a soft cloth.
  • Apply masks on the face with patting movements, strictly along the massage lines. To apply liquid mixtures, you can use a dry cotton pad or swab.
  • The duration of the masks is from 20 minutes to an hour, depending on the purpose and composition of the mixture. Do not exceed the time specified in the recipe.
  • Wash off tea tree oil masks with warm running water, preferably without soap. It is not recommended to use additional products (gel or milk) after removing the cosmetic mixture, so as not to minimize the effect of the procedure.

The frequency of procedures depends on what problems need to be fixed. Face masks with tea tree oil are recommended to be done no more than once a week (2-3 sessions per month are enough for prevention). For the treatment of acne and pustular eruptions, the undiluted oil can be used twice a day until the skin is clear.

The main components, because of which all the troubles on the labels are indicated as sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, coco sulfate. These chemicals destroy the structure of the curls, the hair becomes brittle, loses elasticity and strength, and the color fades. But the worst thing is that this muck gets into the liver, heart, lungs, accumulates in the organs and can cause cancer. We advise you to refrain from using products containing these substances. Recently, the experts of our editorial staff conducted an analysis of sulfate-free shampoos, where the first place was taken by funds from the company Mulsan Сosmetic. My dear readers, today on the blog I want to talk with you again about one of my favorite oils - tea tree essential oil. I have been fond of aromatherapy for a long time, I often buy high-quality oils, I use them both for treatment and in cosmetology. I want to tell you about how I use tea tree oil for my face.

A little background on how I first met this oil. When my daughters were very young, I first encountered sinusitis and frontal sinusitis. The pains were so strong that even the pupils of the eyes were difficult to move. Then there was no knowledge, no such experience, I had to make punctures - to put it mildly, not very pleasant procedures. After them, the doctors warned me that this could happen again, almost after every runny nose.

Of course, I began to look, to study what could help in this situation. A friend of mine just took up aromatherapy then. She brought Austrian high-quality essential oils, a lot of literature on them. I read it, became very interested and began to apply it. Since then, tea tree oil has always been on hand for me. I use other oils as well, but this oil is always special for me. And how to use it for health, I wrote in an article. There I share how I coped with my problems.

But in addition to treating colds, runny noses and other unpleasant sores of the nasopharynx, tea tree essential oil is also used in cosmetology, for the face, to preserve our beauty. This is exactly what I want to talk about today.

Essential oil of tea tree. Application in cosmetology for the face.

Essential oils are often used in the preparation of all kinds of cosmetics. Of course, the composition of all essential oils, rich in useful substances, plays a role here. So tea tree essential oil, first of all, is known for its bactericidal action. One of the most powerful anti-infective components. Tea tree oil fights bacteria, viruses and fungi.

Tea tree oil. Reviews. Which is better to choose?

You know, I have tried many companies that produce this oil. There is something to compare, and the result, including, and even the aroma. Don't save. Just some advice from me. It is better to pay once for high-quality oil, which will last you for almost a year and feel the result, than to use incomprehensibly what and be perplexed that there is no result. I only buy Austrian tea tree oil.

In the photo you see exactly this oil. Written:
manufacturer country:
Austria, brand: STYX

Where to buy this tea tree oil?

We sell it in pharmacies. Go to the pharmacy, where the range is quite wide. Ask a pharmacist. We have whole separate showcases with these oils. Such a wide range. I have not seen this oil in regular stores. You can also order it online. Once again I want to draw your attention to the fact that a small tube of oil will last you for a very long time. I have enough for six months to a year, depending on whether I use it alone or not.

Tea tree oil. Price.

The price in our pharmacies of this oil is about 500 rubles.

The positive effects of tea tree oil on our facial skin.

  • tea tree oil helps fight inflammation
  • with problem areas of the skin,
  • relieves the skin of pimples and acne.
  • tea tree oil is great for skin cleansing.
  • prevents the appearance of various kinds of pustular rashes, therefore it is used for eczema, dermatitis, boils, even lichen is treated with it.
  • helps to treat warts and jams on the lips, herpes.
  • has a slight whitening effect.

Tea tree oil. Application for the face. What do you need to know?

I'll just urge you to be careful. Tea tree oil, due to its properties, can cause a reaction on the skin. Therefore, before you start using it, be sure to do a test. Apply a drop of oil to the inside of the elbow and lightly rub into the skin. If after half an hour there is no redness, itching and other manifestations of irritation, you can try products with tea tree oil. If there is a reaction, then this oil is not suitable for you. I have very sensitive skin, but this oil is just perfect.

And one more subtlety in the use of tea tree oil for the face: - apply it a drop or two, no more. You can then switch to 2-5 drops, depending on the volume where you will add it.

Due to its bactericidal, antifungal, anti-inflammatory properties, tea tree oil is often used in cosmetics - lotions, scrubs, facial cleansers, creams, and so on. But cosmetics are different cosmetics. And even an indication of some store-bought cream in the list of ingredients does not guarantee the same effect as natural cosmetics prepared by oneself. And the cost of a homemade mask with tea tree oil will be several times cheaper than a purchased product.

Tea tree essential oil for acne.

The easiest way to use is to treat with oil the “problems” on the face. Most often it is inflamed pimples, redness.

Spot application of tea tree oil on the face : you can take a regular cotton swab and soak it in a few drops of oil. And then - just lubricate the problem area. Such a “point” application, by the way, helps not only with the appearance or inflammation of acne, you can also treat small cracks, cuts, wounds and not only on the face.

The result of using these procedures:

Usually two or three days are enough for the inflammatory process to stop, the wound to dry up and begin to heal. After all, tea tree oil has a very strong antiseptic effect and is five times more effective than alcohol often used in such situations. However, it is necessary to apply the oil in a pure, undiluted form precisely on the problem point, without much affecting the area around it.

Tea tree essential oil for face

Another easy way to use tea tree oil for your face is to add it to your creams. You can add this essential oil to your regular day or night face cream at the rate of 1-2 drops per 1 teaspoon of cream. Of course, it is better not to mix oil and cream at once in large volumes. And, for example, take a single portion of the cream and add a drop of oil there immediately before use. This method is suitable for preventing the appearance of acne on problem skin. And for oily and combination skin, this recipe is also very good.

But besides this simple recipe, there are many more ways to prepare lotions, creams, masks and scrubs. Examples of some of them today for you.

tea tree oil lotion recipe

I think many girls and women are familiar with the problem of oily skin. It is especially acute in this summer heat. And constantly oily skin creates all the conditions for the reproduction of bacteria on its surface. Which, in fact, leads to the appearance of those very unpleasant problems in the form of acne, pustules, acne and redness. So tea tree oil lotion is a simple and, most importantly, effective way to prevent skin contamination. With its regular use, the skin becomes dull, the risk of inflammation disappears.

1. So, we need:

10 drops tea tree oil
100 ml distilled water
A quarter cup of sage broth (buy at a pharmacy, brew according to instructions).

We mix the ingredients and wipe the skin with the resulting lotion twice a day. Keep the product in the refrigerator for no more than two weeks.

2. There is also a more simplified version of the lotion - 10-15 drops of oil per 100 ml of water. But it is better to take half the volume (50 ml of water to 5 drops of oil) and prepare a portion of the lotion just for one day.

3. And there is a more “strong” lotion recipe for too problematic skin and intensive care. In 200 g of boiled water, add 10 g of tea tree oil and another 15 g of medical alcohol (98%). Store in a tightly closed glass bottle in the refrigerator. Wipe the skin of the face in the evening. In the morning, you can use recipe number 1.

After you have wiped your face with lotion, you need to let the skin dry and only then apply your usual cream.

Tea tree oil face masks

1. Mask with clay and tea tree oil for combination skin

A cleansing mask with tea tree oil is suitable for oily skin. It not only relieves redness and inflammation, but also evens out complexion and nourishes the skin.

We take blue cosmetic clay (you can buy it at a pharmacy) - ½ tablespoon. Mix with two tablespoons of low-fat sour cream and add two drops of tea tree oil. It remains to mix well and apply on cleansed face for 15 minutes. Rinse with cool water.

Alternatively, you can add half a tablespoon of oatmeal to the mixture. But then it is better to stir the mask not with sour cream, but with kefir or yogurt so as to get a slurry of medium density, convenient for application.

2. Mask with egg white and essential oils for very oily skin

In addition to tea tree oil, this mask also uses other beneficial oils - lavender and rosemary. Beat the white of one egg into the foam, add 2-3 drops of tea tree oil and 2 drops of rosemary and lavender oils. Mix well and apply on clean face for 15 minutes. Often it is not recommended to use such a mask, as it greatly dries the skin. Optimally - once a week, and the second time to try the more gentle mask described above with clay and tea tree oil

3. Mask with tea tree oil for dry and sensitive skin.

This recipe does not differ much from the previous one, but is slightly "softened" by the presence of olive oil. Replace rosemary oil with a teaspoon of olive oil and apply the mixture on your face for 15-20 minutes.

I suggest watching a video on the use of tea tree oil for the face, hair and body.

Scrub with tea tree essential oil for effective cleansing of "black spots"

To clean your face with tea tree essential oil, you can make your own scrub. By the way, it is suitable not only for the skin of the face, but also for the shoulders, back and décolleté.

  1. One tablespoon of oatmeal is steamed with a small amount of boiling water, combined with 5 drops of tea tree oil and applied to problem areas, gently rubbing in a circular motion.
