In this case, Macrame yarn from YarnArt was used. It is voluminous, but at the same time it is not prickly at all (which is a big plus: you must admit that it would be very uncomfortable to sit on a warm, prickly seat in the summer in the heat or in the fall in rainy weather). This yarn has only one “disadvantage” - a small footage per skein, so a lot of skeins will be needed. For knitting from macrame yarn, hook No. 4.5 is perfect. Knitting turns out to be quite large, the product knits surprisingly quickly. If you want the cover to be very tight, use hook number 4.

Let's start with the headrests.

We measure the parameters of the headrest: height (1), width (2) and the height of the upper narrowest part (3).

First, the front part is knitted with the main pattern. The dimensions of the rectangle are equal to parameters 1 and 2.

We knit a rectangle with parameters 4 and 5 with the main pattern (see photo above). All other parts (side and back - they are marked in yellow and blue) are knitted in accordance with the parameters of the pattern with grid No. 2.

The top is knitted a little differently. First, it is not exactly rectangular, because in place of the driver's back, the seat narrows slightly, so the main part (which is knitted with the main pattern) should be knitted straight only until the narrowing begins, and then gradually and evenly reduce the number of loops on both sides. The side elements (yellow and blue on the pattern) are also knitted with mesh No. 2 - their shape again depends on the parameters of your pattern.

After the side part is ready, tie the back upper part of the seat (shown in lilac in the diagram). In our case, parts C-D no, and at the back the cover ends at the level of the driver's back, without closing the seat pocket.

After you tie both parts of the cover, all that remains is to connect them in the middle.

It will not be possible to completely sew the cover along all the seams and sides, because. in this case, it will not be possible to put it on the seat. In order for the knitted cover to be securely fastened, you can use various elastic bands, straps, Velcro, hooks or ropes (at your discretion). In this case, at the request of the customer, several long ropes were tied.
