The Caucasian wedding of Dilyara and Rabadan was organized and held in the stylish, modern country club "ArtiLand" on the shore of a picturesque pond by Yulia Antonova's wedding agency "Family Values".

I have repeatedly written and said that I really love Caucasian weddings for their loyalty to traditions, respect for elders, and reverent veneration of parents. Times are changing, national weddings are becoming more European, but at the same time maintaining all these qualities. The color scheme for the Caucasian wedding was fuchsia. One of the popular colors of the past wedding season, which always looks beautiful, bright and advantageous. The organizers thought through everything to the smallest detail. The wedding at Artiland began early in the morning - getting ready for the bride, a photo shoot with friends. It is worth noting that all the bridesmaids wore identical fuchsia dresses, each had their own bouquet, and the groomsmen wore black tuxedos with boutonnieres. The outdoor wedding ceremony was performed in a European style, with a beautiful and gradual appearance of friends and girlfriends accompanied by different music, and then the exit of Rabadan and the appearance of the bride, accompanied by her father. The marriage registration was touching, beautiful and sincere. After a quick “express congratulations” on the photo session of the newlyweds with each guest, everyone was invited to the spacious banquet hall of the Artiland country club, where everything was incredibly beautifully decorated.

The wedding flew by in a flash! I was especially shocked by the first dance of the newlyweds in national costumes. It was indescribable. Beautiful performance, national flavor, tribute to traditions and love for each other, touching drama. In general, it is difficult to imagine and remember something like this. Relatives, relatives and friends of Dilyara and Rabadan watched the holiday on Skype and I sometimes addressed them, we raised glasses to their health with the whole hall. The program was super-saturated and bright - emotional congratulations to the guests, the performance of two cover groups - one with a European program, and the other with national songs, an incendiary Lezginka performed by the Caucasus-Dance ensemble. Looking at the high level that the guests of the Caucasian wedding showed on the dance floor, I did not understand at all where the professional dancers were and where the invited friends and relatives of the newlyweds were.

Patimat Kagirova, Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan, People's Artist of the Chechen Republic, author of many Dargin songs, sang for the newlyweds that evening. By some miracle, there was time for several of my unobtrusive interactions, which went well, despite the fact that host competitions are not accepted at Caucasian weddings.

I really wanted to hold the famous national meykhana competition and even prepared a preparation - an “improvisation” of my own to look like a complete handsome man: “Today I will slaughter a sheep in honor of the wedding of Dilyara and Rabadan!”, but there was not enough time for that. The wedding evening at the Artiland country club ended with a grandiose fireworks display, leaving a lot of warm and pleasant memories of this day.

Traditions and customs Caucasian weddings

I’ll tell you a little about some interesting traditions and customs that are common at Caucasian weddings. All of them were at the wedding of Dilyara and Rabadan, many of them I met at national weddings before.

Appearance of the bride and groom at a Caucasian wedding to the sounds of music “Vagzaly” is an important and permanent ritual, always very beautiful and solemn. This music is characteristic of Dagestan and Azerbaijan. The custom of "Vagzala" dates back several centuries, and among Azerbaijanis in general it is one of the two main national dances.

There is such a thing as first dance - “Yalli”. This is a dance in which guests hold each other's hands and rhythmically raise and lower them. In such a living chain they pass throughout the hall and accept new participants into their dance. The one who leads or closes this chain at a Caucasian wedding, as a rule, waves a scarf, sometimes a napkin. Gradually the circle closes, and in the middle of it the pair dances of the guests begin.

Another important national tradition of Caucasian weddings is Lovzar dance. This dance is an integral part of Chechen culture. Visually, it looks simple - guests stand in a large, wide circle, often applaud, and couples take turns - a man and a girl, or just one person - and dance. Girls dance gracefully, they are characterized by smooth movements, and men perform lovzar swiftly and temperamentally, often with movements “on the fingers.” This is more than just a Caucasian dance. This is a whole philosophy, a dialogue between the sexes, an expression of respect for women. By the way, lovzar is not only a dance at a Chechen wedding, it is also a set of folk games. Lovzar is not a dance, but a historical festival, which includes competitions such as archery, horse racing, tightrope walking, freestyle wrestling, pole climbing and much more. By the way, the great Russian poet and writer A.S. Pushkin very vividly described the national Chechen games in his poem “Tazit”.

I have already mentioned in passing the Azerbaijani tradition in my story - meykhana, from which you can safely make a luxurious and colorful competition at a Caucasian wedding. It was not possible to hold it at a wedding at Artiland, but I am sure that I will definitely return to it again. This kind of duel between meikhan poets takes place, as a rule, to live accompaniment. The rhyme and chorus are agreed upon in advance, and the verses themselves are composed on the fly. Very spectacular and captivates the entire room. Meykhana can be played by two players, or it can be done on tables.

I hope that my story about some traditions of Caucasian weddings will be useful to many of my colleagues who are about to hold a Chechen, Azerbaijani, or Dagestan wedding.
