Beautiful crafts from cones with your own hands. How to make an applique of cones? Photo, description, additional materials

Crafts from cones with their own hands will be of interest to both adults and children. Among crafts made from natural materials, crafts made from cones look the most vivid and original.

What kind of craft can be made from cones?

The most interesting version of cone crafts for children is some well-known animal or bird. The children are especially reverent towards the little inhabitants of the forest kingdom.

Hedgehog from a cone on a plastic bottle

Such crafts from cones will be relevant, because the hedgehog is the most beloved character of exhibitions dedicated to autumn. We take a small plastic bottle with a cork. We paint its upper part with a black marker - this is the future muzzle of a hedgehog.

Wrap the rest of the bottle with a thick cloth. The threads sticking out along the edges can be set on fire - this will not allow the fabric to unravel and give the craft a neat look. We fix the fabric on the bottle with glue.

Glue the cones onto the fabric in rows. We fill the entire surface of the fabric with cones.

It remains to glue the eyes and ears to the hedgehog! The finished look of the craft will be given by the gifts of autumn - apples, rowan twigs and dried leaves.

Hedgehog made of cones and plasticine

One of the easiest ways to make a hedgehog out of a cone is to use a pinecone for crafting.

Another version of the craft is to make a hedgehog from a cone and felt. We make eyes and a nose from beads.

Hedgehog from spruce cone scales and salt dough

You can make a hedgehog from a spruce cone and salt dough. We “disassemble” the cone into scales. We insert these scales into the base of salt dough.

Dry the hedgehog a little in the oven.

We draw the eyes and nose of the hedgehog. Our hedgehog is ready!

Bird made of cones and fabric

The cones themselves suggest interesting images to us. For example, you can make a funny bird out of cones. To make it, we need fabric of different textures, glue and factory eyes.

We glue canvas wings, beak, tummy and felt paws to the cone. We put our eyes in place.

Funny birds made of cones - ready!

Owls from cones and cotton wool

From cones you can make charming fluffy owls. We take cotton wool and insert it between the scales of the cones.

Glue two circles of felt.

We attach factory eyes to felt circles. Glue the beaks.

Owls from cones - ready!

Paint the cones with golden paint and place on a small stand.

From the cones you can make a big and beautiful owl for the autumn exhibition. At the heart of the craft are two foam balls, into which bumps are inserted and fixed with glue.

Autumn nest with cone chicks

From cones, chestnuts, leaves and twigs, you can make a very spectacular autumn craft. With the help of good glue we glue cones and chestnuts. This is the future head and body of the bird.

Glue the wing leaves to the blanks.

Leaves - wings

We intertwine the branches. We should get a small bird's nest. Weave leaves into the bottom of the nest.

Glue the eyes and beaks on the birds. Our birds in the nest are ready!

Bunny from cones

From cones you can make a favorite of all children - a bunny. For crafts, you need quite a bit - a piece of felt, a small pom-pom, factory eyes, a bead and good glue. Glue felt ears and a pompon tail to the cone. Glue the eyes in place.

We glue a bead in place of the spout and decorate the craft with mustache threads. A hare from a cone is ready.

Do-it-yourself figurines from cones

Such funny figurines will surely appeal to children and will decorate the autumn exhibition in kindergarten. By gluing pieces of felt on the cones, we get a lovely chanterelle.

Or a squirrel with a nut.

If you paint the cones yellow and attach ball-heads to them, we will get lovely chickens.

From a cone, fluffy wire and a few factory eyes, you get a funny spider.

From a cone, felt and felt, you can make a wonderful winter snowman.

From the gifts of autumn, you can glue the wonderful Serpent Gorynych. Walnuts stick together. Glue a piece of red fluffy wire between the nuts. We glue eyes on the top nut - we get a head. We make three such blanks. We glue a stick to each head, which we then insert into the cone (be sure to fix it with glue). We glue the legs of walnuts, as well as the wings and tail of dry leaves.

A very interesting idea is to make proud deer out of spruce cones. We make the body and neck from cones. The legs are made from twigs. We make a deer head from an acorn. We connect the details of the craft with a glue gun. We make a nose, eyes, horns and hooves from plasticine.

Watch the video on how to make deer from cones:

A very beautiful autumn deer is obtained from a cone, twigs and an acorn.

Do-it-yourself topiary from cones

From the cones you can make a very beautiful topiary or a tree of happiness. We insert a sharp stick into a pot of plaster.

Using a glue gun, we fix the bumps on the foam ball. We put this ball on a stick. We wrap the pot with a rope.

It remains to decorate the topiary with ribbons and paper leaves. We decorate the pot with shot pebbles and shells. Topiary from cones is ready!

DIY basket of cones

You can make a very original autumn basket out of cones. This craft is suitable for an autumn exhibition in a kindergarten or school. Using glue, we connect six cones in a circle - this is the future bottom of the basket.

Now we also connect eight cones - this is the upper part of the basket.

We take the upper part of the basket and glue the bumps to it in a circle. We will have a blank of two rows.

On this blank we glue the bottom of the basket, which we made at the beginning. In the central part of the basket there will be a hole, which we will “glue” with a cone.

We connect the cones for the handle with wire. We attach the handle to the basket.

We decorate the basket with flowers and ribbons.

Watch how to make a beautiful basket of cones in the video:

The bumps in the upper part of the basket and the handle can be placed not inside, but outside.

From colored cones, you can make a very spectacular autumn composition - a bouquet of flowers.

Christmas tree made of cones

Crafts from cones can be not only autumn, but also winter. You can make a very beautiful Christmas tree out of cones. We glue a cone from thick cardboard.

Using a glue gun, glue the pine cones. To keep the bottom row more firmly, you can sew bumps to the cone.

Using glue, glue all the cones onto the cone.

We wrap the Christmas tree with tinsel, beads, small balls and stars made of felt. Such a beauty can be safely sent to the New Year's crafts competition!

From the cones you can make a very spectacular New Year's candlestick. It can be used as a New Year's table decoration.

I really liked the topiary and the Christmas tree) (alevita)

Experienced and caring parents willingly spend their free time with their kids: walk in nature, in the park, spend time on playgrounds, take part in children's parties. The change of seasons brings its pleasures: joint crafts from natural materials on the theme "Autumn", "Winter". In addition, material for joint creativity can be prepared together and with pleasure. Children especially enjoy the joint creative pastime, which develops abilities and creative possibilities.

The change of seasons brings its pleasures: joint crafts from natural material

Autumn-themed crafts are popular mainly due to the fact that the material for them is varied and affordable. You can use sets of cones of different sizes, chestnut fruits and plant seeds for the base. Multi-colored autumn leaves will become an ideal basis for a creative autumn panel: fantasies on the theme of bright leaves will decorate the hallway, the nursery, and the living room.

In order to get creative with autumn foliage, you should go to a nearby park and store to stock up on material:

  • colorful autumn leaves;
  • sheets of thick cardboard of different colors;
  • glue;
  • oilcloth, tweezers, scissors and a brush for glue.

You can make a panel from a freshly fallen leaf, you can dry it a little. In any case, the craft will delight the eye with aesthetic perfection.

  1. Before starting work, prepare materials and cover the table with oilcloth. The materials are available and begin to sketch the future panel.
  2. A sketch of the picture is made on a sheet of paper, taking into account the available natural material, its size, color and shape.
  3. I begin to apply details on a sheet of cardboard, following the pattern: leaves that are too large or unsuitable in shape are allowed to be cut or reshaped as you wish.
  4. Glue is applied pointwise to the leaves: in small patches, otherwise the leaves will be deformed.
  5. For a couple of days, the finished painting is sent under a press so that the elements of the panel lie on the surface perfectly evenly.

The finished panel made of natural material can be coated with a colorless varnish and placed in any frame, which can also be made by hand.

Autumn crafts from cones and leaves: what can you think of

Recently, various accessories for transforming home interiors, made from a mix of natural and factory materials, have come into fashion more and more. An interesting and popular model is an unusual decoration for a living room or bedroom called "wind music".

To implement such a project, you will need materials:

  • a pair of not long sticks:
  • leg-split;
  • cones;
  • colorful autumn leaves;
  • hot glue;
  • spray can with golden paint;
  • beads, jewelry, colorful ribbons.

Recently, various accessories for the transformation of home interiors have become more and more fashionable.

Before starting work, it is recommended to treat some details with gold paint: leaves, cones on one side, sticks. Wait until the parts are completely dry and proceed to the manufacture of the product.

  1. The sticks are tightly tied together with a cross using twine. 9 ropes of twine of the same length are cut from the twine (the length is calculated based on the desired length of the product, plus a little for a knot at the end).
  2. The parts are laid out in the desired order in order not to be mistaken in the order later, and they begin to string them on the twine, making preliminary punctures. Secure with a double knot of twine.
  3. At the end, the thread is fixed with a double knot, after which they pass through each part with a drop of glue for final fixing.

The finished “wind music” is fixed on a chandelier or on a window baguette in such a way that when the wind blows, the parts “rustle”, touching each other.

Baba Yaga in a mortar: how to make from natural materials

The kids especially like the production of fairy-tale characters from natural material. An indispensable hero of many fairy tales is Baba Yaga in a mortar, so there are many options for creating this fabulous masterpiece.

To make the heroine of Russian folk tales, you will need materials and tools:

  2. A “horn” is carefully placed on the tail of the cone - this will be Yagi's hooked nose. With the help of a piece of plasticine, a cone-body and a cone-head of a fabulous Baba are attached to each other.
  3. From small pieces of plasticine, the eyes and mouth of the heroine are made, from pieces of twine - hair, which is attached with glue to the head.
  4. The branches are inserted into plasticine - hands are obtained, beads are made from rowan berries, strung on a thread, and placed around the neck.
  5. I put the burlap in a glass, securing it with twine, after which they send the fabulous Baba there and fix it firmly with glue.

The broom for the heroine is made of thin twigs tied together with twine.

How to make Leshy from natural materials

The decoration of a zoo corner in a kindergarten or a winter garden on a loggia will be a figure of Leshy, made of birch bark and cones.

For a cheerful hero, you will need materials and tools:

  • a piece of rectangular birch bark;
  • a pair of cones of different sizes, a walnut shell;
  • a couple of pumpkin seeds;
  • straw;

We make Baba Yaga from cones

Required materials and tools:
  • Cones: spruce and pine with a tail
  • 200ml plastic cup
  • Leg-split
  • Sackcloth
  • PVA glue, plasticine, pasta "Horns"
  • Twigs, rowan
  • Threads

  1. First, we take a plastic cup and wrap it with twine, while smearing it with glue for the Baba Yaga stupa
  2. Next, using brown plasticine, we connect the bumps
  3. Now we need a pine cone tail. We put pasta on it and get a nose. We make eyes and mouth from plasticine
  4. We make beads from rowan berries strung on a thread
  5. Next, we take the branches and make small breaks. Again, with the help of plasticine, we attach them to the body.
  6. And in conclusion, we decorate the stupa with burlap, then we plant our beautiful Baba Yaga
  7. Almost forgot the most important thing - hair. We make a bunch of beige threads and get an insanely beautiful hairstyle. And what is Baba Yaga without a broom. We take thin, small twigs, collect them in a bundle and insert the stick. This one is not at all scary, but Baba Yaga turned out to be very cute

Create a natural hedgehog quickly and easily

Required material:
  • Plastic bottle
  • Two plastic bottle caps
  • Pine cones
  • Glue "Moment" or polyurethane foam
  • Plasticine
  1. Using glue or polyurethane foam, we glue cones on a plastic bottle - they will serve as needles for a hedgehog. Each cone must be glued separately, strongly pressing it to the bottle
  2. At the second stage, we glue the bottle cap with black plasticine - this will be the nose
  3. Glue pieces of black plasticine onto the white lids. Glue the resulting eyes with glue or foam to the bottle
  4. You can put a variety of fruits or berries made of plasticine on the needles of our hedgehog
  5. Let's imagine that we made a hedgehog mother and add a hedgehog as well. For this we need more sunflower seeds. We sculpt the body of a hedgehog from plasticine, we will have seeds instead of needles, we will sculpt eyes and nose from black plasticine
  6. Here we have a small family of hedgehogs, who went for mushrooms

Master class on making natural crafts from leaves

We make a basket with roses

Required material:
  • fresh maple leaves
  • Gouache red and yellow
  • Varnish for wood
  • Styrofoam
  • Basket
  • fern leaves
  • Christmas tree branches

  1. The leaves can be of any color, the most important thing is that they are fresh. Fold the sheet in half
  2. Then we bend the edge of the leaf inward
  3. Roll up the sheet. Thus, we got a small bud - this will be the core of the future rose
  4. Next, take the next maple leaf, a little larger and apply the core to the front side
  5. We bend the three tops of the second sheet so that the attached sheet is above the core
  6. Then we wrap the core with a second sheet so that we get a rosebud
  7. Then we take the third sheet and also apply the resulting bud with the front side to the middle. Again we form a rose. Each new leaf is applied on the opposite side of the previous one.
  8. After the rosette is formed, we tie it at the base with a thread so that it does not unwind. There is no need to cut the sticks, they will add volume to the bouquet in the basket. For one rosette, you can take any number of sheets, we took four
  9. In total, for our composition we will make 29 roses, 3 of which are yellow and one is marble green, the rest will be red. Next, varnish the roses
  10. We put foam plastic at the bottom of the basket so that the roses hold on tighter. To the stalk of each rose it will be necessary to tie a stick with a sharp end with a thread
  11. Now we insert the roses on a stick into the basket, forming a composition
  12. Let's decorate our composition with a Christmas tree and fern leaves. To complete the picture, we can make foam beads. To do this, it will be necessary to string the circles from the foam on the thread and tie the thread

Making fall leaves

Required material:
  • Any autumn leaves
  • Glue "Master"
  • Bamboo wooden skewers set

For the manufacture of this composition will require 17 skewers:

  1. Let's make a frame, retreating from the edge by 2 cm to make a square
  2. The next layer of 4 skewers must be glued on top, while making sure that the sharp edges of the skewers are directed in different directions
  3. Next, in opposite corners of the resulting frame, parallel to each other, you need to stick three skewers, stepping back from the corner and between them about 2-3 cm
  4. Then diagonally stick the next three skewers, also deviating from the average 3 cm, the distance between the skewers can be adjusted depending on the composition
  5. Now we have a frame on which you can alternately stick dry leaves. Let's try to depict the cycle

Video tutorials on the topic of the article

We hope that the crafts we have proposed will help you make beautiful works. Check out some more video tutorials:

At the beginning of the school year in schools and kindergartens, children are given creative homework - they need to do something interesting from improvised natural materials that literally lie under their feet in autumn: leaves, cones and acorns. What can be done besides the herbarium? We offer you instructions with photos for the production of several original crafts.

Vase of autumn leaves

You will need:

Autumn leaves
- PVA glue
- balloon
- brush.

1. Inflate a balloon and place it on a cup or bowl.

2. Clean the leaves from the cuttings.

3. Start gluing one leaf per ball, using plenty of PVA glue.

4. Lay out several layers of leaves, which also need to be covered with glue on top.

5. After the glue dries, gently deflate the balloon and you will have a vase.

leaf mask

You will need:

Leaves of different sizes and colors
- cardboard (you can use a cereal box, for example)
- strong thread or elastic
- scissors
- PVA glue or "Moment"

1. Draw a mask on cardboard and cut it out.

2. Check where the eyes will be and make the necessary holes in the paper.

3. Make small holes along the edges of the mask (you can use a stapler) and tie a thread or elastic band to keep the mask on your head.

4. Using glue, start attaching various fallen leaves to the mask. It is worth starting with large leaves at the edges and slowly covering the mask, ending with small leaves closer to the middle of the mask.

Maple leaf roses

Collecting leaves. Too small, dry, diseased, torn leaves are NOT suitable for us. We will use different colors.

For one flower, it is better to choose leaves of the same color.

We fold the first sheet in half across the central vein so that the front side is outside.

And now we turn this folded sheet into a tight roll.

This roll will be the core of the future rose.

Now around this core we begin to lay the "petals.

To begin with, we take a sheet and place the core in its center. Note that the front side of the leaf is inside the flower!

Fold this sheet in half. The edge of the inflection is located above the core by a centimeter and a half.

And now we also bend this protruding edge outward. But the fold is no longer smoothed ...

And we wrap the side edges of this double-folded sheet on both sides around the core.

We pinch the lower edges of the leaf at the very base of the flower.

We take a new sheet for the next "petal" and repeat the operation just performed, only this petal is located on the opposite side of the first sheet.

Here, several stages of the same type, shown above, are skipped, when the petals are collected in a bud. Add them until you feel enough.

When the bud is ready, we tie its base with threads to secure the flower.

How many flowers will be in your bouquet - you decide. For this "photo shoot" we had three.

Now let's go green. The most colorful leaves will do here.

In order for these leaves not to curl up into a tube the next day when dried, it is better to iron them beforehand between sheets of newspaper. They will become more fragile, but careful handling will not damage them.

We evenly put these leaves in a circle under the buds and fix the now ready-made bouquet at the base with the same threads.

On top of the threads, by the way, it will be possible to wrap this knot with yellow paper tape (painting tape), this will hide the threads and make it look neater and more finished (there is no paper tape in the photographs).

Here is the autumn bouquet and ready.

Autumn leaf applications

It is a very exciting experience to watch how funny little animals, little men, landscapes or abstract patterns are made from ordinary leaves that are lying under our feet. Application classes contribute to the development of imagination in children, fine motor skills, and develop perseverance. Before work, the collected leaves can be ironed by spreading them between two sheets of paper.

When making autumn applications from leaves, the missing details of the images can be completed with pencils, felt-tip pens or paints.

From the leaves, as from paper, you can cut out fragments of the future picture with scissors, i.e. use for application not the whole sheet, but only part of it.

Dry leaves of different colors can be crumbled by hand (a fun activity for kids!), Then glue them onto the drawing. This is done as follows: in the right place, apply a layer of glue to the picture, sprinkle crushed dry leaves on top, let the glue dry, then shake off the remnants of the leaves. Beauty!

Note: if the leaves do not crumble well, hold them for a while in the microwave at low power.

By the way, the tree in the upper right picture is drawn in an interesting way, when the paint is blown on a sheet of paper with a straw. First you need to draw a tree trunk with several branches with a pipette, trying to leave more droplets of paint on the paper. And now the fun begins - through the straw you have to blow on the paint, and then, right before your eyes, thin twigs will grow in different directions!

And finally - an unusual solution from the site Krokotak.com. They glued paper templates (lion, fish and hedgehog) with autumn leaves, resulting in original autumn applications.

It is better to print templates on thick, colored paper or colored cardboard.

And on dry leaves, you can simply draw:

Crafts from cones

Even 2-3-year-old kids can take part in creating crafts from cones. From cones, make the body and head of your crafts, all the missing details can be molded from plasticine, finished with a marker, or made from twigs, leaves, acorns, feathers, etc.

Cone spider

You will need:

Cone
- 4 branches resembling spider legs or 4 parts of a thin brush
- plasticine (for making eyes) or plastic eyes
- glue "Moment" (superglue)
- thread to hang the spider.

1. Use 4 brushes to make paws - thread each one to the middle and bend so that on both sides the ends of the brushes resemble spider legs.

2. Add eyes - do it easier at the bottom of the bump, where it is not dissolved.

3. Tie a string and hang somewhere for beauty.

Little people made of acorns and pine cones

A body is made from a cone, a head is made from an acorn.

The skiers in the photo above have skis made from ice cream sticks painted with paint. The handles are made of chenille wire.

Instead of an acorn, you can use wooden beads in the manufacture of the head. Clothes for little men are best made from felt. To fasten the parts of crafts from cones together, it is most convenient to use a glue gun.

Hedgehog from a cone and pine needles

To make such a cute hedgehog from a cone, you need to stick bunches of pine needles under the scales of a pine or larch cone with a toothpick and plasticine. Then you can cut them a little, or you can leave them, but then it will be a porcupine. The muzzle of the hedgehog is made of plasticine, the nose is made of black peppercorns. Attach rowan berries and homemade mushrooms from twigs, plasticine and acorn caps to the hedgehog's needles.

By the way, you can make a hedgehog out of a cone even easier. Such a craft made of cones and plasticine is within the power of a preschooler.

As you probably already understood, with cones and plasticine, if you have imagination, you can make a large number of crafts. Here are examples of just a few children's crafts made from cones and plasticine.

Crocodile from a cone

From unopened pine cones, you can make a cute crocodile. For plausibility, paint the cones green with gouache before starting work.

Feathers, doll eyes, stuffing for soft toys, chenille wire (the so-called "fluffy" wire), felt and other materials can also be used to make crafts from cones.

For those who like to create pictures and crafts, cones have long become a frequently used material. But it is one thing to make compositions from whole fruits of spruce and pine, and another to create flat paintings and applications from cones, or rather, from their scales. This is a small material from which you can lay out any figure or character, decorate the background or fold the ornament.

Pine scales are larger than spruce scales, so they will add volume to any composition. They are even used in the manufacture of the roof of makeshift houses. After all, they are very reminiscent of tiles. You can combine such a fertile natural material with absolutely any other - with leaves and paper details, fabric and seeds of pumpkin, watermelon or sunflower, cereals and cotton wool. Do not list everything.

In the article we will give several samples of applications from cones made by children of preschool and primary school age, we will take a closer look at how to work with pine and spruce scales, which is additionally needed to create a picture.

How to prepare material for work?

Before you start cutting the scales from the cones, you need to properly process them. After all, natural material is mainly collected on the ground. To work with them, the cones must first be thoroughly washed under water, and all scales should be cleaned with a stiff brush. Then they are placed on a cotton napkin or terry towel and dried naturally.

Only when the buds are clean and dry, you can start trimming individual elements. It is most convenient to do this with secateurs or wire cutters. For thin ones, sharp scissors are also suitable. Scales are trimmed to the very trunk. It's a solid branch in the middle. It is then thrown away and not used in work. Try to keep all the elements the same size, without sharp chips. For younger children, dad can do such preparatory work, and in kindergarten, the teacher prepares the material in advance and gives the children already peeled and cut scales before the cone appliqué lesson.

Christmas tree decoration

Every year, children make Christmas crafts, creating toys to decorate the Christmas tree. These are lanterns, and painted balls, and figurines of animals, and garlands of colored rings. One of the variants of the toy can be made such a star as in the photo below. To do this, you need to cut a star out of thick corrugated cardboard according to the pattern. In the upper beam, a hole is pierced with an awl for a thread or a thin rope, on which a toy will be hung on a branch.

Then painstaking work begins on gluing pine scales onto strong glue, for example, "Moment". They begin to make such an application of cones for children along the perimeter of the star, gradually moving towards the central part. If the first row lies on cardboard, then the subsequent ones are placed so that they partially overlap the previous layers. The star is voluminous.

Flowers for babies

This is a simple and easy application of fir cones. The spruce scales are thin and perfectly glued to the PVA. First, plasticine kids roll even large balls of yellow and red. Then they are applied to a sheet of paper and flattened with a finger. Get the middle of the flowers. Petals are made of spruce elements. It is necessary that the child carefully examine the scale and understand which side to stick it on correctly. The sharp edge should look at the colored center.

The stem and leaves are made from thick green acrylic or mohair knitting thread. Such an application of cones and plasticine turns out to be voluminous. Using the combined details for the picture, children begin to understand that crafts can be made from different materials, the main thing is to skillfully place them and embody the idea on a sheet of cardboard.

leaf man

This craft can be entrusted to children of the middle group of kindergarten. Four-year-old children already know the structure of the human body well, understand how to arrange the details on a sheet of paper for a beautiful application of cones and leaves. In this work, a small or cut in half bump is used as a nose. The rest of the details are collected from the leaves.

The rounded parts - the head and torso - are assembled from poplar leaves. Elongated parts need to be selected for the legs and arms of the figure. To do this, you can look for the foliage of willow, ash, walnut. For eyebrows, collect small leaves of acacia. All parts are glued with PVA glue. It should be thick, not diluted with water, especially for a bump.

Peacock

Such an application on the theme "Autumn" from cones can be made in elementary grades for an exhibition. This is a large picture that uses cherry leaves for the body, linden leaves for the tail, and willow leaves for subtle and fine details. A head is created from an acacia leaf. Also, twigs are useful for making paws, and tail decorations are made from cone scales.

If you can’t make such holes in the tail for the scales, then you can glue them directly onto the leaves.

from cones

To work on such a picture, older children - six or seven years old - are involved. It's not the complexity of the picture, but the duration of the task. A hedgehog is drawn separately on paper, cut out along the contour and glued to a bright, contrasting background, for example, yellow, as in the photo below. Then that part of the animal, which will be covered with spruce scales, is smeared with a thick layer of plasticine. Kids will not be able to do such work, since they do not yet have such strength of hands and fingers. The layer should be so thick that the "needles" of the scales stick up and do not fall out of the picture.

After a layer of plasticine is evenly applied, work begins with natural material. The scales are inserted tightly, next to each other, so that the plasticine is not visible. On top of them, you can plant a couple of plasticine apples, pears or mushrooms.

decorative owl

To make such a decorative wall decoration, you must first draw the outlines of an owl on cardboard. Then transfer the cut out template either to a sheet of fiberboard or to thin plywood. The base of the picture is cut out along the contour. As you can see in the photo, not only pine scales were used for the application of cones, but also thin twigs, black felt and thin hemp twine.

First, a "fringe" is made from the bottom of thin sticks in a semicircle. Then painstaking work with scales, with which you need to fill the entire space of the base. The parts are glued alternately in layers, starting from the bottom side. When the entire surface is filled, it remains only to make the bird's eyes.

4 circles are cut out of a thin sheet of felt. The two large ones will be the basis for the rope, and the small ones will act as the upper part of the eyes (pupils). The rope is wound tightly, for convenience, you can use tweezers. The surface of the felt circle is smeared with PVA glue, and the rope is immediately planted on the adhesive base. A small circle is glued on top of the spiral. At the end, after both eyes are collected, they are glued onto the cones. For better fastening of parts, you can use wood glue or Moment. A small screw is screwed into the back wall of the plywood and a string is tied, for which this work can be hung on a wall or door.

Picture of cut pine cones

A picture is assembled from the bark of a tree, four slightly shortened cones and dry grass. For small parts use plain cardboard. Pine cones are cut in half with wire cutters, the sharp part with the top is not used. Owls are made by folding the head and body of two cones with the round side outward. It is convenient to stick small parts on them - eyes, ears, beak.

From below, several bunches of dry grass are glued to the bark frame. So the picture looks more picturesque. Such an autumn application of cones can be performed by a student at a fair or any craft competition at school, which are usually organized in the fall, at the beginning of the school year.

and cones

Such a wonderful composition, which looks like a frame from a professional cartoon, is actually easy to make. To do this, you need to cut a lot of pine scales and buy a long pumpkin with a sharp tail. You can not cut it off, so the house of forest dwellers or fairy gnomes will look more spectacular.

To make the roof of the house have a larger diameter, you can buy two pumpkins of different sizes. From the smaller one, cut the house itself, and from the larger one, make the roof. Before starting the assembly of the structure, you need to thoroughly clean the pumpkin from the pulp. To do this, with a sharp knife, you need to cut off the sharp top from a small pumpkin and clean the pulp in the resulting ball with a spoon or knife. In a large pumpkin, the part that will be the top is cut off, and the inside is also carefully cleaned.

Windows are cut out in the round part. For the door, the contours of the door and decorating elements are cut out with a sharp metal cutter. To do this, a thin layer of peel is removed, they do not reach the inner soft part. You need to act carefully. On the roof (on a larger conical pumpkin part), you can also cut a window in the same way.

All details are painted with paints. You can take oil paints. The pumpkin is smooth, so the oil will lay on the surface well. If a schoolboy makes a craft, then you can paint it with thick gouache with a minimal addition of water.

In the end, when everything is dry, you can start covering the roof with "tiles", namely, pine cone scales. To make the work bright, the entire product assembled together can be coated with acrylic varnish.

As beautiful as cones and scales from them, you can use it in any idea, embody your most fantastic ideas on cardboard. So create yourself or use our tips. You will definitely get joy from the work done and beautiful pictures. Good luck!
