Hat costume chicken from the fabric of the country of masters. We sew a rooster costume with our own hands. How to make a rooster costume from The Bremen Town Musicians

One of the most traditional heroes of various fairy tales is the rooster. His image - multi-colored, colorful and bright - stands out against the background of others, so if your child has such a role at a matinee or carnival, then you need to seriously approach the preparation of the appropriate costume.

However, this does not mean at all that you need to run around the shops and buy or rent an expensive outfit, because you can sew it yourself.

Preparatory stage

Ready to feel like a real fashion designer? Do not be afraid - you will not have anything super complicated, just rely on your imagination and creative ideas.

The image of a cockerel can be made quite simply (this will be especially true for very young children who do not need plausible costumes): dress the child with a yellow or white T-shirt and red pants with suspenders, plus - use only characteristic elements, for example, sew on a comb and a beak to a cap, add a bright collar or cuffs to a blouse, decorate the legs or sleeves with sequins, etc.

If you need to sew a carnival costume for an older boy with your own hands, then you will need a pattern, fabric of different colors, and all kinds of accessories or accessories.

Getting to work on the image

  1. Start with the headpiece. This can be a separate hat with a scallop (it can be made according to patterns - cut and sew two halves, and then sew a gathered scallop on top). The comb can also be voluminous - two parts must be cut out of red fabric, sewn together and filled with foam rubber. Such a comb can be sewn even to a bandana, even to a simple children's hat with ties. If there is no time to mess around, use a cockerel carnival mask.
  2. There is a slightly more difficult option - to make a one-piece upper part of the costume, that is, sew a hood to a cape that will depict the wings of a cockerel, and sew a comb into the inner seam of the hood, plus add eyes and a beak. For the eyes, cut an oval out of white fabric, and sew a small circle out of black fabric onto it. You can add a bead or shiny threads. The beak can be sewn from fabric (sew a red triangle stuffed with filler in the center) or made from paper (paint the cardboard with gouache with PVA glue and cover it with yellow or red cloth) or papier-mâché. Sew red beards on the sides of the headdress (you can also fill it with padding polyester or leave them flat).
  3. It is best to sew a shirt according to the bat principle. You can use an ordinary kosovorotka, just decorate it with a multi-colored collar or shirt-front, add puffy cuffs to the sleeves, and add cloves to them, like feathers. And if you tie a voluminous large bow around your neck (it is better to take a shiny fabric), then you get a real cockerel beard. On a turtleneck or T-shirt (only with long sleeves), you can attach a shirt-front with feathers - it will play the role of a breast. To do this, you need to cut an oval out of the fabric, and make cloves along its edging (they will also imitate feathers), and then sew on many multi-colored shreds (cut them in the form of droplets). From a large semicircle, you can make a chic cape in the same way by sewing it to a blouse on your hands (also embroider with patches of feathers. By the way, just such a cape can be one-piece with a hood - a headdress). If you don’t want a cape, cut feathers from fabrics of different colors and sew them in a checkerboard pattern, starting from the shoulder. Sew a lot of feathers in several rows to give the costume brightness and variegation.
  4. The bottom can be harem pants, trousers or even shorts. Well, if the pants are a little below the knee. Decorate the bottom with cloves or sew on the same feathers as on the hands so that the carnival costume looks harmonious. As feathers for the top and bottom, you can use many multi-colored ruffles from scraps of rayon or satin ribbons.
  5. If the child is wearing Czech shoes or sandals, then pick up colorful bright knee-high socks for him (both plain - yellow, white, and multi-colored or striped are suitable). You can make almost real boots with your own hands. To do this, simply make paper tops with lapels and buckles for shoes, then paint them, and glue the buckles with foil and put them on a tape. You can imitate paws by sewing soft chuni with three fingers on the foot.
  6. For an adult carnival costume, you can add other interesting details, such as a red satin vest or sash with tassels. An interesting idea for adults will be the creation of the image of the famous rooster from the Bremen Town Musicians.
  7. The most important part of your work is the tail. Be sure to take into account the convenience and comfort of the child so that he can move normally in a suit, sit, dance, without fear of breaking or spoiling something. Therefore, the wire frame is not suitable for everyone. Try the "soft" option. Cut out a lot of blanks of feathers, glue them on the wrong side with interlining and apply a synthetic winterizer. Sew details. Divide the tail feathers in half. Taking the longest feather, put another, shorter one on it, and sew, on top of both of them - one more, until you reach the smallest one. Do the same with the other half of the feathers. Then connect the two parts by stitching the two longest feathers and sew two Japanese sticks into each of them at the junction (this will make the tail stiffer and more stable). Make a Velcro belt and sew the tail to its middle.

Preparing a fancy dress for a child is a great way to emphasize the bright personality of the baby. Costumes depicting various animals and birds are very popular. For example, a stubborn boy will willingly turn into a "donkey", a calm and well-fed child - into an imposing cat, and a perky and fighting boy will happily try on a rooster costume.

If there are several children, a win-win option is dress them up as the Bremen town musicians. Donkey, rooster, cat and dog, all these costumes can be supplemented with fake musical instruments that are sold in toy stores. The main thing is to show imagination and allow the child to actively participate in the creation of a festive outfit. New Year in the form of an animal is a great way to broaden your baby's horizons and teach him to role-play. Psychologists say that bright masquerade costumes contribute to the disclosure and realization of the acting abilities of children of preschool and primary school age.

Why it is worth making a perky cockerel costume for a baby

A child depicting a fighting cockerel is guaranteed to be the center of attention at any New Year's holiday. It can be an unlucky and stupid rooster from the Russian folk tale "Cat, a rooster and a fox" or a cheerful and resourceful rooster - a musician from Bremen. An unusual carnival costume will help a shy kid to relax and realize his creative potential at the children's New Year's party.

Children up to three years old a chicken costume would be more suitable. It suits both boys and girls equally. Do-it-yourself chicken costume for a girl looks very interesting and provocatively.

Older children who already know how to role-play can be offered a more elaborate outfit. The girl will gladly turn into a troublesome chicken, Ryaba chicken or a caring mother from the fairy tale “How the Chicken Lost His Voice”. And the boy will willingly try himself in the role of a noisy, fighting singer - a cocky rooster.

It is undoubtedly worth making a New Year's cockerel costume for a boy with your own hands, because purchased costumes often do not fit. In addition, they rarely differ in beauty and originality. A do-it-yourself chicken costume for a girl will also bring a lot of joy to her daughter, granddaughter or younger sister.

Here are the main advantages of such a suit:

  • The rooster has a pronounced character. He is combative, cocky, cheerful and inquisitive.
  • Such an outfit will suit a child of any build, both thin and fat, because cockerels and chickens are different.
  • In a bright costume of a perky singer, the baby will forget about his complexes and begin to feel more confident.
  • It will be possible to wear the same outfit for the New Year for several years in a row, because the hat, wings and tail will suit a boy of any age, from preschool to primary school.

To turn a modest boy into a perky cockerel, you only need improvised materials, as well as a rich imagination. Those who draw well can make all the patterns themselves. You can also use ready-made options. If the fabrics are not bright enough, you can dye them before sewing the suit. And you can use multi-colored shreds, and then you get a motley cockerel or hen-Ryaba. If there is golden fabric at home, the baby can turn into the Golden Cockerel from the fairy tale by A. S. Pushkin.

Suit Materials

For a New Year's outfit, it is best to use a dense fabric., but other materials are also perfect, for example, foil and colored paper, as well as a variety of Christmas tinsel and "rain". If real bird feathers are preserved at home (for example, souvenirs from a zoo or a bird farm), they will be very useful. Souvenir goose feathers, painted with bright acrylic paints, are also suitable. You can cut feathers from thick corrugated paper or shiny golden cardboard. The child should, if possible, create together with an adult, then the kid will definitely remember both the bright outfit and the cheerful New Year's holiday for a long time.

In making a New Year's rooster costume for a boy with your own hands, you can also use multi-colored garlands of fluffy feathers, which are called "boas" and are sold in all supermarkets before the New Year holidays. For the "chicken" pink color is suitable, for the "cockerel" - red or orange, as well as yellow.

To make a rooster costume with your own hands from improvised means, many mothers and grandmothers cut out “feathers” from multi-colored felt. This is also a great option, since the felt is very dense, and such “feathers” will stay on your head perfectly if you attach them to a thin headband.

You can also use the following materials:

  • Satin ribbons of different colors (for feathers on the head, on the wings and on the tail).
  • Bright multi-colored shreds to create the effect of "variegated", "speckled" plumage.
  • Pieces of multi-colored fur from old children's fur coats and hats. Yellow fur is perfect for a chicken, red for a cockerel, brown or orange for a hen.
  • Multi-colored floss threads for embroidery "plumage".

On the legs of a fighting cockerel, you can put on elegant red boots with cardboard spurs glued to them. It is not recommended to use rubber boots for this purpose, as children's feet sweat a lot in them.

A chicken can be given a huge sham "egg" made of thick cardboard and pasted over with golden iridescent paper. Yellow gloves imitating “paws” are put on the hands of the “cockerel” and “chicken”, long cardboard bird “claws” can be glued to them. It would be nice if the child learns some poem about a chicken, hen or cockerel before the holiday, and introduces all the guests of the holiday to his character in poetic form. If the coming year is the year of the Rooster according to the Eastern calendar, you can apply the year of the holiday on the costume with acrylic paints (for example, “2018”).

The main components of the outfit

The cockerel or hen costume consists of several elements, and the main one, of course, is a hat. Of course, you can use an industrial mask instead of a hat, but the color of the finished mask may not match the overall color scheme of the outfit. In addition, purchased masks are often made from low-quality materials and can cause allergies. In addition to the headdress, the rooster must have a “tail” and “paws”.

To keep the tail well, it is attached to sports pants or shorts with double-sided tape. You can also hang a small piece of fabric in the form of a droplet around the child's neck, imitating a beard. "Wings" are attached to the back. You can buy children's fairy wings (butterflies) at any supermarket, which are attached with an elastic band, and stick bright rooster feathers on them. Classic suit the most vociferous poultry includes:

  • A red or black hat with an elastic band, tightly fitting the forehead, to which feathers and a comb are attached. The comb can be gold, red or orange. It should be borne in mind that the hat should not squeeze the forehead. If the child complains that the cap is pressing hard, the elastic should be loosened. If desired, the headgear is replaced by a purchased or home-made mask with slits designed for the eyes.
  • A red, orange or yellow t-shirt to which wings with colorful feathers are attached.
  • Red or black tight sweatpants (shorts, gymnastic leotards, cycling pants) to which a bushy tail is attached.
  • Boots with spurs made of cardboard.

If desired, you can give a fighting cockerel in your hands a toy sword or saber, because this bird is one of the most warlike and fighting.

When the child gets used to the new outfit, parents can teach him to crow loudly. You can also read with your baby about a bird familiar from childhood and learn something new about it. For example, a child will be very interested to know that roosters crow differently in different languages. For example, in Spain this bird calls: "Kikiriki!", in France - "Kokoriko!", and in England - "Coca doodle doo!".

Features of sewing and patterns

You can sew an outfit of a cheerful cockerel on a sewing machine in about an hour. If you sew by hand, it will take about twice as long. The main thing is to correctly make a pattern and cut the material. Patterns can be easily found on the Internet. Also, patterns of New Year's costumes are often printed in "family" tear-off calendars.

In order to make a festive outfit for a boy 3 - 7 years old, necessary:

How to decorate a suit

Children's clothes intended for a masquerade or carnival must be decorated. It all depends on the imagination of the child and parents.

The rooster is one of the most colorful poultry, therefore, in the decoration of a festive outfit, you can actively use sparkles, sequins, large multi-colored beads. The rustling foil also looks beautiful, which shimmers with every movement of the little “cockerel”. If you make plumage in black and orange tones and complement the costume with a huge fake beak made of cardboard, the rooster will turn into a toucan - the most beautiful bird in South America.

The outfit of a lively, perky bird is a wonderful New Year's gift to your beloved baby. Bird costumes are equally loved by both boys and girls. Any child dreams of being a bright, cheerful cockerel at least for a while, so you should not deprive your baby of this pleasure. When the wonderful outfit is completely ready, the little cockerel must be photographed for memory near the New Year tree or in the company of Santa Claus. The costume of a cheerful morning singer is a great choice for both a home holiday and a long-awaited matinee in kindergarten.

How to sew a rooster costume?

This outfit can be made of paper or fabric, in the latter case it will be more durable. Typically, this character's attire consists of the following items:
  • hats with a scallop and a beak;
  • wings;
  • panties;
  • tail;
  • boots or other suitable footwear.

Let's start with the headdress, before sewing the rooster costume, we will create this thing. To make such a hat, take:
  • light and red felt;
  • scissors;
  • paper;
  • pencil;
  • thread with a needle.
The rooster's cap consists of 6 identical wedges. To find out their exact size, measure the circumference of the child's head, divide the result by 6, add 2 cm - these are seam allowances.

Take two such details, match them with the front sides, sew along the edge from one side. Why in the sidewall of the second clinic, sew one sidewall of the third. Set this 3 wedge blank aside for now. Connect the remaining three blanks in the same way.

Redraw the next pattern, attach it to the felt, cut out the scallop from the fabric. Gather it at the bottom on a thread, first stitching it here with a basting stitch.

Fold the parts in the following sequence: on the front side of the workpiece of three wedges, attach the gathered side of the scallop, cover the top with the second workpiece of 3 wedges so that the face is inside and the wrong side is outside. Sew along the edge.

If there is no suitable shirt available, then you can quickly sew it based on the presented pattern. It is loose cut, so in any case it will be good to sit on the child. On the left is a shelf pattern, on the right is the back.

Please note that the back and shelf will be one-piece. To cut them out, fold the fabric in half lengthwise, match the fold of the front and back with the fold of the fabric.

Match the shelf and back, folding them with their front sides. Sew these pieces together on the shoulder, on the sleeves, on the sides. Roll up the sleeves, hem them. Step back 10 cm from the bottom of the sleeves, on the wrong side, sew a thin elastic band here in a zigzag pattern, stretching it. The length of the elastic should be 1 cm more than the volume of the child's hands. Finish the neckline.

When talking about how to sew a rooster costume, it should be noted that the shirt-front can be made of paper or fabric. Sew this piece on the front under the neckline.

The shorts also have a loose fit. Transfer the pattern to the newspaper, cut it out. Attach this paper template to the fabric. From it you need to cut 2 parts of the back and 2 front. Stitch them in the middle and on the sides. Hem the bottom and top. Insert rubber bands here.

There remains one more important detail of the character, which we will dwell on in more detail.

How to make a beautiful tail?

It will require this:

  • fabric of different colors;
  • interlining;
  • scissors;
  • pins;
  • wooden sticks;
  • Velcro tape.
From fabric of different colors, cut out such semicircular details, for each feather you will need two identical ones.

Non-woven blanks are also needed.

Let's start with the first feather. Fold 2 fabric parts right sides. Pin interlining from the inside.

Stitch the workpiece from the inside out along the edges, leaving the small bottom side free.

To prevent the line from unraveling, first make a small stitch forward, then back, then forward again. Finish the line the same way.

Cut off the sharp corner on the wrong side to make the feather look neater.

Arrange the rest of the details in the same way. Look, the extreme feathers are small, slightly rounded. Big straight lines.

Turn them on the face, iron the seams.

Divide the tail into two identical parts, first we will issue the first half. On the largest feather, put the same large one, which is the second in size. Peel off, stitch, remembering to fasten the stitch at the beginning and at the end.

In the same way, attach a slightly smaller, third-largest feather to the second one.

Sew the last fourth from the edge. In the same technique, decorate the second half of the tail.

Put the first on the second blank, stitch them together. The width of the line should be such that a wooden stick can be inserted into one and the second formed drawstring. This will make the structure more rigid, help to give it the desired shape.

Here's how to make a beautiful ponytail next. Sew up the holes on your hands so that the wooden sticks do not fall out.

Cut out a belt from Velcro, if you want, you can sew a fringing to it from two long sides.

With a few lines that we make along and across the tail, sew the feathers to the belt.

This belt is suitable for children of different ages, different complexion. Its volume can be adjusted. The belt will fit snugly to the suit due to Velcro hooks.

But the rooster costume is not finished yet, see how to make wings at home. They can be fabric or paper. There are many manufacturing options, check out a few of the simplest.

How to make wings at home?

When you sew a shirt for a cockerel, cut a long strip from a fabric of a different color, cut it in a zigzag pattern on one side. When you begin to sew up the sleeve from the bottom, put this part here, sew everything together.

And here is another easy option. For him, you need to prepare:
  • fabric of four colors;
  • threads;
  • semicircle pattern;
  • braid.
For one wing, 4 blanks are needed, each is a quarter of a circle of different sizes. To make a smooth wavy bottom, apply a template to the turns, cut along it.

Now more about how to make wings with your own hands.

Let's start with the first option. Fold 4 blanks for him, arranging them by size. Tuck them in from one end, expire. Then do the same on the other side. You can not tuck, but trim with braid. It must be sewn at the top on one side and the other in the form of large loops. This is where the child will stick his hands, putting on the wings of a rooster. To keep them tight, sew a tie on the front and fasten like a cape.

From the same braid, make loops for the sleeves, the child will wear the lower part of the wings on the wrist. See how else you can arrange them.

Sew a cape. On the wrist, it will be worn with ribbons. From a fabric of different colors, cut long ribbons, gather each with a basting seam, sew to the raincoat, starting from the bottom.

There is another interesting idea that will tell you how to sew wings. Also cut the ribbons, after gathering them, into the sleeves. When the child raises his arms, they will look like wings.

You can make them quickly if you cut a circle out of fabric or wrapping paper. Let the child stretch his arms in opposite directions. Measure the distance between the hands in this position, this is the radius of the circle. Cut its edges in a zigzag, cut out the neck so that the child can put on the wings of the rooster.

It is good if the child comes to the matinee with a gift for the teacher. Make a fiery rooster with him, which is a symbol of the coming year. The result will be amazing, and it takes so little.

How to make a fiery rooster craft from threads?

To reproduce this, you will need:
  • red and white threads;
  • tweezers;
  • scissors;
  • "Titan" - glue for ceiling tiles;
  • drawing of a cockerel made on a printer;
  • scotch.
Cover the drawing with tape. Pour the glue into a small bottle with a spout, apply it to the contour of the animal's breast, helping yourself with tweezers, place a piece of red thread on top.

In the same technique, lay out the following turns, forming the body and head of the bird.

Next, make embossed feathers, lay a white thread inside several, and also attach them with glue.

To make the craft even more chic, you can glue glass pebbles to match on the ends of the feathers.

After completing the first wing, move on to the second.

It remains to draw the tail of the rooster. To do this, also first glue the thread along the contour, then fill the inner space of the openwork wings.

Leave the Fire Rooster craft to dry for a day, then carefully detach it from the base. You will see dried drops of glue peeking through. Remove them with a soldering iron, but you need to be careful so that there is no blackness due to burnt glue. The work is completed, you can frame it and give it or hang it on the wall and wait for the holiday.

paper rooster craft

If the thread rooster turned out to be difficult for children to reproduce, then advise them on simpler crafts. Such funny roosters are made quickly, for this you need to take:

  • colored paper;
  • glue;
  • scissors;
  • markers.

On a sheet of colored paper, draw a triangle with a semicircular bottom side. Roll a cone out of it, seal the side. Cut narrow strips of paper, you will need 2 for each bird. Fold these blanks with an accordion, glue paws with three fingers cut out of colored paper on one edge of the strip. Attach the legs in place.

Cut out round eyes, beak, glue these elements too. It remains to make the tail and wings. See the process for this in more detail.

Cut strips from colored paper, connect the ends of each, glue them in this place. It remains to glue these improvised feathers to the bird. Shorter stripes will become her wings, long ones - her tail.

And here is another option for making such a bird, a paper rooster template is attached.

Enlarge it, redraw it on a white sheet attached to the monitor. Lay it on the colored paper folded in half, cut it out.

You will also need to draw a scallop, a rooster's beard on red paper, and a beak on orange paper.

You can use purchased eyes for toys or make them from colored cardboard, stick them on your face, like the rest of the head parts.

Attach a large paper clip to the lower body, fasten this area to the neck, you get such a wonderful bird.

Using the same technique, you can make a girlfriend for our hero - a chicken. Very young children will make an application on the same topic.

As you can see, the body of the rooster consists of a large triangle, and the wing of a small one. The tail is created almost from the same geometric shapes. The kid will have to cut and glue the comb, beard, eye and paws to the bird.

If you need to quickly make a carnival costume for a rooster, paper will also help. Mark the volume of the child's head, cut a strip from a white sheet according to this size, but with a small margin to glue its ends on the side. Glue the second paper tape on the first, perpendicular to it. Cut out a comb from red colored paper, attach it to the top of the mask. From the same paper, make a beard, and from yellow - a rooster's beak.

After that, you can put this headdress on a child and send it to the holiday.

The body of a rooster can be made in an unusual way. Let the child put his palm on a piece of paper, circle it. According to this template, the kid, together with the senior assistant, will cut out many blanks from paper of various colors. Then, from the light one, he will need to cut out the head of the bird, from the red and yellow other details of the face, from the white and black make the eye.

Having glued the head with all the details on one side of the sheet, let it attach the palms of colored paper with glue. You need to start from the tail, gradually moving towards the neck, so that these blanks are overlapped in relation to each other. It remains to glue the paws cut out of brown paper, and the application is ready.

And you can take with your child to prepare his outfit for the matinee. How to make a New Year's rooster costume, everyone decides for himself, based on what materials he has available.

The children's New Year's costume of a rooster and a chicken has one characteristic difference - it is multicolor, brightness, contrast and expressive texture of the fabric. It is not at all necessary to use a natural bird feather, although this is also appropriate. For the entourage, colored paper, bright pieces of felt, fabric or felted wool can be used.

Look at the New Year's rooster costume in the photo showing the variety of materials used:

However, choosing a satin for a boy, and felt for a girl is not worth it. You also need to think about what age the outfit will be made for. For toddlers aged 1.5 - 3

X years the best materials will be furs, insulated types of fleece, knitwear. In general, everything that will create warm and comfort.

You can sew the base from any smooth and shiny material. New Year's rooster costume for a girl for 2017 can be created on the basis of a dress with a bat sleeve, or a combination of bright red trousers and a blouse with a wide cut. But the New Year's rooster costume for a boy should consist of trousers without fail (they can be replaced with tight-fitting tights) and a wide shirt with a bat sleeve.

After the base is sewn or selected, you can start decorating. For this you can use:

  • natural bird feather, painted with watercolors and gouache in the desired colors;
  • silk and satin ribbons, which are collected in a special way;
  • tinsel, serpentine, Christmas decorations;
  • various belts with decorative buckles;
  • pieces of felt from which you can cut out wings, feathers, a hat with a beak.

You can see the design ideas for a children's New Year's costume of a rooster or chicken in the photo below:

How to sew a New Year's rooster costume for children with your own hands

Before sewing a New Year's rooster costume, you need to prepare materials and develop a pattern. As a basis, you can take a shirt, skirt or trousers of a size suitable for age and supplement with the necessary clarifications. So, you will need to rebuild the sleeve pattern so that in the end it resembles a wing. Pants are not required. Instead, you can take tights, pull red knee-highs from below to the knee. For girls, their costume may consist of white leggings or leggings.

The New Year's rooster costume for children will be incomplete if you do not think over the line of the headdress. In its capacity, you can use a specially sewn hat with your own hands. A red shiny crest should run along the entire headdress. It can be made from cardboard and decorated with shiny Christmas decorations. Or you can spend a little more time and cut a comb from a red piece of felt. Some craftsmen create this decoration from plastic bottles, plastic bags by weaving and much more. If you know how to knit or crochet, then we recommend buying white and red natural wool yarn and knitting a hat in which the child will be happy to walk all the New Year holidays, and maybe even longer. And part of the New Year's costume and a warm headdress.

You can sew a comb of red satin. To do this, you need to build a pattern according to the size of the child's head. Sew all the top seams and insert foam rubber inside. Sew the lower part into a prepared hat for the holiday. For expressiveness of the image, a beak created in a similar way can be sewn to the cap along the forehead line, and large buttons can be sewn on the sides, which will imitate the eyes of a bird. You can also use a false beak with an elastic band. It is made of thick cardboard and painted in the desired colors.

The expressiveness of the outfit will depend on a number of details that you should pay attention to:

  • depending on the color of the feather you want to imitate, choose the same color shirt and pants;
  • pants should be wide at the top, and narrow to the knee;
  • on legs up to the knee, you can wear red textured knee-highs and shoes of this color;
  • you can make chicken feet with rubber gloves, which are sold at any hardware store;
  • a wide red satin belt will emphasize the colorfulness of the New Year's rooster costume for a girl and a boy.

Well, what kind of rooster if it lacks the most important and expressive detail? Guess what we're talking about? Of course it's a tail. In order to assemble a cock's tail, you need to consider the design of its attachment and formation. An ideal option for a performance is a wire frame, on which multi-colored strips of fabric or silk ribbons are stretched. But if you need to sit, such a design can be traumatic. Therefore, the younger the child, the more you need to think about his safety during matinees. For crumbs, you need to make a cock's tail from soft materials. It can be foam rubber, which is inserted inside the stitched tapes. It is possible to resort to the old method of starching fabrics. Yes, this is only enough for one performance. But the child will be safe and sound.

Do not forget about those kids who are not yet attending kindergarten. We are talking about the smallest children up to 3 years. Children's New Year's chicken costume in 2017 will be a real holiday for them and a great occasion to broaden their horizons. You can learn rhymes or try to draw chickens together and explain to the baby that this particular bird will be a symbol of the upcoming new year.

The New Year's chicken costume should be bright, soft and suitable for the child to be comfortable in it. For the little ones, it is easiest to use any flannel jumpsuit with convenient fasteners as a base. It can be white or yellow. Feathers made of satin ribbons or fabric are sewn on it. Do not use tinsel and other details in such outfits that can get into the child's mouth.

A beautiful New Year's chicken costume for a girl can be based on a bright cape that is worn around the neck and waist. The cape is made of ribbons, which are collected like a bow. Bright red booties, slippers or Czechs will complete the picture. And for a boy, a New Year's chicken costume can be decorated with a headdress in the form of a hat with a comb.

As you can see, making a New Year's chicken costume with your own hands is quite simple. The main thing is to turn on your imagination and be patient. We wish you wonderful holidays, lots of fun and happiness in the coming year.p>

The New Year holidays are getting closer, and parents are more and more “puzzling” over what to dress their child in for the holiday.

Today we will show how to sew a chicken ourselves, the costume is designed for a girl 4-5 years old. It consists of a dress and a cap with a scallop. If this is not the first time you have sat down at the sewing machine, then the chicken will not be difficult. But do not despair if you do not have skills in needlework. Check out your daughter's wardrobe. Perhaps there will be a yellow dress and you will only have to sew a hat with a comb, and you will definitely master it.

For the costume you will need:

* yellow satin - 70 x 130 cm
* organza is also yellow - ZOO x 150 cm
* faux fur, preferably white - 16 x 16 cm
* red fleece - 10 x15 cm
* lace braid - 60 x1.5 cm
* synthetic winterizer
* smooth headband to match the suit
* ordinary threads and elastic thread
* glue "Moment"

How to cut a chicken costume:

1 From the atlas, cut out the details according to schemes 1, 2, 3 and 4. Make tucks on the details of the back (in diagram 1 - red). Cut out the 120 x 10 cm skirt waistband.

2 From organza, cut strips for flounces into sleeves (see diagram 5). Cut out a strip of 150 x 3 cm for the hem of the shirtfront. For the skirt, cut out 10 strips of 150 x 15 cm. For the frills on the skirt, cut out 14 strips of 150 x 5 cm.

3 From fleece, cut out the details of the scallop according to scheme 6.

Top of the dress

1 Sew the shirtfront and the double-gathered trim for it onto the front part (see photo and diagram 2 - highlighted with a pink dotted line). Sew along the back and front along the side and shoulder seams.

2 Gather each strip of organza for the sleeves in half. Sew on sleeves. Sew them on.

Skirt

1 It consists of a belt to which a double skirt with frills is sewn. Each skirt is made of two tiers - top and bottom.

2 Fold the waist piece in half lengthwise, wrong side inward. Run 3 longitudinal stitches with an elastic thread every 0.5 cm, stepping back from the 1 cm fold. You get an elastic belt.

3 For the top tier of each skirt, take 2 strips of fabric and sew into a ring. Gather each ring from one end to the size of the belt and sew to it. The top tier of the double skirt is ready.

5 For the bottom tier, take 3 strips of fabric and sew into a ring. Gather each from one edge to the size of the top tier and sew to it.

6 For each skirt, make a ruffle of 7 strips of organza. To do this, sew them into a ring and sew with a rubber band along the center to gather. Sew the ruffles to the skirt and sew it to the top of the dress.

Hat with scallop

1 Sew the details of the cap with a hidden seam, stuffed with padding polyester. Sew lace along the edge.

2 Sew the details of the scallop, also stuffing the synthetic winterizer inside. Sew the comb to the hat and glue it to the headband.
