How does light pink go together? What color goes with pink in clothes? Pink color, combinations

The world around us is made unusually colorful: it has a huge number of colors and their shades. Each of them carries a specific meaning that imperceptibly affects our subconscious. Since many of us have ambivalent attitudes towards certain colors, it is necessary to carefully select them in the interior and clothing style.

Meaning of pink color

In any Internet source, the first meaning of this color is feminine. But this is not his only positive quality. This color comes from red, but no longer causes aggression, but on the contrary, provokes friendliness and calms.

The color pink is often associated with romance, kindness, friendliness and sensitivity.

Initially, in old Europe it was customary to dress boys in pink, but girls in blue. This was due to the fact that pink was considered stronger. But over the years, this theory has lost its popularity.

How does the color pink affect people?

Pink color has a very large palette of shades. These are salmon, coral, dark pink, and fuchsia. But they all carry the same semantic load. The color pink has a very positive effect on the human psyche and thus can suppress aggression.

If after work you often find yourself in a bad mood, just try to focus your attention on a pink object. The anger will gradually subside and you will feel much better. This is possible because pink lowers blood pressure and helps slow the heartbeat. The special quality of this color is that it can improve your sleep and appetite.

People who choose shades of pink are likely to lead life in a very measured way, love adventure and are hardworking. Although here you can find exceptions. Some lovers of this color may turn out to be very childish and frivolous.

What color goes with pink?

Not all colors will look harmonious with pink. Therefore, you need to be extremely careful when combining it in clothes and interiors with other shades.

Pink and brown These colors complement each other. But you shouldn’t place much emphasis on brown, as it is a rather gloomy color.
Pink and black When choosing these colors, you need to think through everything very well so that they do not overshadow each other. These shades will look good in the interior of the bedroom.
Pink and blue For some, this combination seems completely wrong, while others think about whether blue goes with pink. If you take light blue and pink, they will complement each other perfectly. But it is better to dilute dark blue and pink with white, for greater harmony.
Pink and lilac This is perhaps the most successful color combination. They are ideal for each other and add mystery to both the interior and clothing style.
Pink and red Pure red color will look very slapdash, but burgundy will become more harmonious. But still, this combination needs to be carefully worked out.
Pink and green But these two colors need to be combined with caution. Both of them must be in the same color category, that is, they must be either bright or, conversely, very light.
Pink and yellow Does yellow go well with pink? Of course. This combination will look very sunny and fill you with energy.
Pink and gray In this arrangement the colors will look very elegant. If we take the interior, it would be ideal to use rough or shiny fabrics.
Pink and cream This color combination is suitable for representatives of the fair half of humanity and can emphasize all their femininity.
Pink and white This color combination will definitely bring a little freshness and tenderness into your life.

If you take into account which color goes best with pink, you can easily combine even any of its shades. The main thing is to approach this issue wisely and not overdo it, and the result will definitely please you.

Pink color and its shades in clothes

Brunette girls can safely wear pink clothes, because the stereotype of the “blonde in pink” does not apply to them. This color will only emphasize their individuality. Pink clothes will be ideally combined with dark purple, blue, brown and dark purple.

Pink color will look best on blonde girls. But you shouldn’t fill your entire wardrobe with it and wear such things to work and business meetings. It can and should be combined with other shades, the main thing is to know what color goes with pink. If you choose a short pink dress, you are unlikely to come across as a businesswoman, but rather look like a typical blonde in pink. But if you wear a blouse in combination with a strict dark skirt and jacket, the situation will be completely different.

What color goes with pink in the interior?

Most often, pink is the color chosen for a girl’s bedroom or nursery, because it, like no other, will emphasize her femininity and youth. It would be better to simply dilute other rooms with pink accessories in the form of vases, paintings, dishes or curtains.

If you want to make the room lighter, more optimistic and add a little romance, feel free to choose pink as the main color. If the room is small, you can complement the main color with some light colors, such as yellow, light green or cream. If, on the contrary, there is a lot of space in the room, you can safely use darker colors, such as burgundy, purple or black.

Since you have already become familiar with what color goes with pink, you can easily add some zest to any interior.

Still, there are colors that are most advantageous for you. And their skillful combination with the rest creates the concept of elegance and taste. Dressing monochrome, when all the details of your toilet are the same color, has long been a sign of bad taste.

There are few exceptions to this rule - if you are not a bride or in mourning, then your clothes should contain three shades - the main color, an additional color that harmonizes and shades the main one, and, possibly, a contrasting detail, an intriguing color accent. Selecting and combining them correctly is often a very difficult task.

A lucky few, naturally endowed with a subtle artistic taste and color perception, can choose the color scheme for a wardrobe, relying on their intuition. For everyone else, in order to always be stylishly and tastefully dressed, you need to learn a few rules established by Sir Isaac Newton!

The right combination of colors in clothes will make your look complete and harmonious. General rules say that this can be achieved by combining:

  • sharply contrasting colors, for example, red - blue, red - white, red - cornflower blue, red - green, orange - black, orange - cornflower blue, green - white. Such combinations are used in sportswear, children's and youth clothing;
  • contrasting colors, for example, cherry - pink, blue - cornflower blue, lilac - lilac, green - light green. Such combinations are used in various types of clothing; semi-tonal colors, for example, soft pink - soft blue, soft light green - soft lilac.
  • solid colors, for example, brown - beige, light red - dark red. Such combinations are used in everyday clothing and clothing for overweight women.

All pastel colors are combined with each other, regardless of shade.

Pastel colors are beige, peach, pink, light blue, etc. Those. all colors that add a lot of white. These colors can be combined with each other in any order. Be careful with pink - the only color that is fattening.

Use from 2 to 4 colors. If you use only 1 color, it creates a feeling of dullness and paleness. If you use more than 4 colors in your clothes, then when they see you, people's eyes jump from one color to another, not knowing where to stop, which unconsciously increases anxiety.

You can combine either related or contrasting colors with each other. All other options are inharmonious.

Related- these are colors that differ from each other in shade (red, pink, dark red).

Contrasting- these are colors that are completely opposite (purple - yellow, blue - orange). The only contrasting combination that is risky is green and red.

I recently resumed my drawing and painting lessons, and I want to tell you about color combinations. In any situation when it comes to color, there are good and bad combinations of shades. Whether it's a manicure or clothes, a drawn card or even a home renovation, it's always important to choose a beautiful and interesting color combination.

With regard to clothing, this is even more important, if you can paint your house and your favorite bedroom in any shades you like, and invite only loved ones there, then clothing is the most important social tool that allows us to form the first opinion about each other, and therefore we cannot allow your clothes said the wrong thing about you. How to choose good shades and choose interesting pairs? What are the rules about this? How to choose any tones with shine?

A little theory

The easiest way to choose the right shade is to use a color wheel. It is divided into 12 sectors and represents the primary colors. Also, each sector is graduated from light (in the center) to dark (along the edge). What can we deduce from this circle?
  1. White harmonizes with absolutely any tone and makes it brighter.
  2. Black will help dilute any ensemble and at the same time give it depth.
  3. Complementary and similar color neighborhoods are visible.
  4. You can derive triads, tetrads and squares.
What is a complementary pair? These are colors that are located opposite each other on the color wheel. Red and green, blue and orange, purple and yellow. In order not to miss, it is best to choose shades that are equal in lightness and saturation - equidistant sectors from the center.

This is a good combination, and most often many clothing lines use it - they produce the same models in complementary shades, and then if you buy a purple blouse, you can always choose a pistachio skirt to go with it (and vice versa).

Similar pairs- those that stand next to each other on the color wheel. Such pairs are often found in architectural compositions. Surely you have seen when a house is painted light lemon, and the architectural elements - slopes and cornices, balustrades and architraves - are green. This solution is also found very often in accessories - for example, it is much easier to find yellow shoes with orange trim than yellow ones with blue or purple.

Triads, tetrads and squares are patterns that are drawn according to a special shape on the color wheel. For a triad it is a triangle, for a tetrad it is a rectangle, and a square speaks for itself.

Look at different color wheels to understand the principle, and you will never go wrong in choosing the right shade.

Neutral

Neutral colors are called black, white and gray - they go with almost everything and look good together. However, it should also be taken into account that a person dressed in black or gray from head to toe is bad manners; monochrome outfits have long become a sign of bad taste. In the summer, it is appropriate to be dressed in white from head to toe, but here accessories - a bag, shoes, bright jewelry and details - can help maintain the brightness.

Any combination of gray should be well balanced. As a rule, fabrics or accessories of a pure gray shade are rarely found on sale; most often the color has a cold or warm undertone. Accordingly, when choosing color combinations with gray, you need to look at:

  • to the warmth of gray;
  • on the warmth of the selected color;
  • on the lightness of two shades and their compatibility.

Warmth of Gray

Gray can be warm or cold.

Warm shades are best combined with warm tones - yellow, orange, red, pink, crimson.

Cool gray looks perfect if you add blue, lilac, green or blue to it.

Warmth of the chosen color

Even yellow can be cold. It is best to choose those paints whose temperature corresponds to the main temperature of the color. Warm yellow and cool blue look good with cool gray.

Lightness

This is the position that the chosen color would occupy on a stretch from darkest to lightest. It is best if the gray does not compete with his partner. Can't choose? Choose the brightest shades or pastel colors, and it is better to refrain from dark ones.

Warm

Warm colors on the color wheel range from yellow to violet. This is a pleasant range that lifts the mood and gives a feeling of warmth and light. However, choosing color pairs here is not so easy. Naturally, when I talk about the proximity of red or yellow, these are those combinations where the color I indicated is the main one (that is, it predominates visually).

The best combination of red is with white, blue and black. These are pure shades that were worn by kings and queens; this range (without black) is represented on the Russian tricolor and the flags of other states. Use pure shades, and then you can definitely be confident in your choice.

The combination of burgundy color with shades of blue and gray turns out to be interesting. In general, any berry tones will suit burgundy. But it is better to choose green tones with a cool undertone.

A wonderful combination of brown and beige - you get a pleasant chocolate combination. Shades of cocoa and coffee, tea and milk, pastries and ivory - many color combinations with brown evoke thoughts of desserts.

Naturally, warm tones go well together - brown and light orange look great together, and the combination of red, orange and yellow was once ultra-fashionable.

Want to add some flair to the combination? Try complex tones. Combine brown with plum, beige and blackberry, warm inky and cool turquoise. Yes, don't forget about the brown and mint color combination. The combination of mint and chocolate evokes thoughts of entertainment, pleasure and relaxation.

Do you like extravagance? Add some accessories in a deep shade - for example, cobalt blue will set off orange or pink well, and turquoise looks good against shades of yellow and green.

Cold

Cool colors are those from green to purple. These are shades of grass and water, cool and refreshing, they bring peace and tranquility. If you want to use cool shades in the interior, then it is best to give preference to bright, clean colors, the compatibility of which is very high with other colors.

The best combination for the home is dark blue with white and red. Moreover, red should be a highlight, there should not be a lot of it, but it’s better not to skimp on blue.

My favorite shade is turquoise, also called turquoise and Tiffany's favorite shade. Turquoise color goes well with a variety of shades. You can choose warm pink and rich orange, which can beautifully set off the turquoise color. An interesting combination of turquoise shade is obtained with coral - the reddish-red palette emphasizes the turquoise color well.

It is also worth trying a combination of blue with cold yellow and light green tones, and blue will help to set off green tones. In general, the combination of green with yellow and blue is classic for spring and spring holidays, so try to find your own solutions in this color scheme (and don’t forget to look at the color wheel).

Try to pay more attention to the combination of green with other colors - this year the Panton company announced Greenery as the shade of 2017, so it would be a sin not to acquire a couple of green wardrobe items and buy some emerald jewelry for home. By the way, you can choose beautiful color combinations with green online - the color palette will be created automatically.

Do you want to create interesting purple color combinations? Try light cool colors - lilac, pink, green. Don't like deep purple? Try lilac and lavender, and don't forget lilac.

The color pink is incredibly striking and very complex. The tones of this color can be warm or cold, gentle and provocative.

Psychologists believe that pink clothes are chosen by individuals with a subtle, vulnerable soul, emotional and sublime. Subconsciously, a person dressed in pink is perceived positively; to those around him he seems kind and childishly naive.

Many women love pink for its ability to rejuvenate the face; a woman in the right pink clothes looks younger.

Color in fashion history

Over the centuries, attitudes towards pink have repeatedly changed to the radical opposite. The color either soared to the peak of fashion and all the fashionistas wore pink dresses, then it was forgotten. Moreover, during the period of “oblivion”, wearing pink was considered bad manners.

It must be said that no color in the history of fashion has caused such fierce controversy. Pink clothes were declared a sign of bad taste, then suddenly became incredibly popular.

In the twentieth century, the adoration of pink peaked first in the 30s and then in the 50s. After another surge of love for pink in the 80s, it never left the fashion catwalks. Models of different shades of pink are found in the collections of fashion designers.

Shades

There are a huge variety of shades of pink, let’s highlight the main groups of tones :

  • Pale pink cool. This is a strict shade that is great for use in office looks.
  • Pink warm. This is a natural shade of ripe peach that suits almost everyone.

  • Beige pink. It is interesting because it looks different in combination with certain colors. In a duet with rich blue, slate or lilac, the shade will appear more pink. When using brown or red additions, beige-pink clothes will look more like a neutral “nude”.
  • Classic pink. This is a pure color in which red and white are mixed in equal proportions.

  • Hot pink. This shade is clearly dominated by red color; the more of it, the more saturated the shade will be.
  • Dirty pink. Despite the not very beautiful name, the shade is very interesting; it is formed by mixing red and gray.

  • Smoky pink. This is a pink with a hint of lilac, usually used to dye lightweight fabrics such as chiffon.

Who is it suitable for?

The ambiguous attitude towards the color pink in clothing is also explained by the fact that not everyone has the right shade to match their type of appearance.

Certain shades may suit one girl and not suit another at all.

  • Winter. Representatives of this color type are distinguished by their bright appearance, they have dark hair, but light skin and eyes. A “winter” girl will look charming in pink in cool shades. You should only avoid pale pink, but smoky pink is ideal.
  • Spring. Fair-skinned girls with blue or gray-green eyes and light brown hair will become even more beautiful if they choose warm light pink shades. Hot pink and cool shades are worse.

  • Summer. Dark-haired and dark-eyed women with dark skin can choose any shade of pink; they look great in both light and bright versions of this color.
  • Autumn. Beige-pink shades, as well as warm versions of pink, are ideal for light-eyed and red-haired girls.

We combine

It’s not for nothing that pink is considered a “feminine” color; like most girls, it is quite capricious. Therefore, you need to select companion colors for it especially carefully. Here are the most successful duets:

  • With black. An effective, simple and almost win-win combination. You can combine any shade of pink with black, but bright colors, such as fuchsia and black, look especially impressive.

  • With white. Another combination that will never let you down. You can safely combine any shades of pink with white.

  • C beige. Not too bright, but quite an acceptable combination, suitable for everyday and business looks.

  • With blue. Quite a worthy tandem. You can, for example, wear a pink top with blue jeans or a skirt.

  • With brown. A good combination. But when putting together sets, you need to make sure that only cold or, conversely, only warm shades are present in one set.

  • With blue. To combine with pink, you should use dark shades of color. Only one of the colors of this tandem should be the leading one. You can, for example, pair dark blue trousers with a pink belt or wear dark blue shoes with a pink dress.

  • With gray. This is a great combination for office or casual looks. To make the look more noticeable, you can add a few bright accents to the duo.

  • With purple. This combination is suitable for festive looks. It is advisable to use a dark shade of purple with a predominance of red (dark purple). But when putting together an ensemble of pink and purple, it is recommended to include another neutral color in the ensemble, for example, white or beige.

Combinations of pink with bright blue, emerald or olive green, red, brick cannot be called unacceptable. However, such kits should be compiled carefully, trying not to overdo it with additions.

A combination of pink with bright green and orange is considered unacceptable. Although, as you know, there are no rules without exceptions.

Fashionable looks

Using pink clothes, it is easy to create memorable images.

Only pink

A monochrome look in pink looks very gentle. In the set you can combine rich and pale shades of color. But you shouldn’t combine warm and cold tones in one ensemble.

The sets, the individual elements of which have the same color but a different texture, look interesting. For example, you can wear a knitted fluffy sweater with a leather skirt.

Casual sets

It is better to make ensembles for every day from clothes in muted shades of pink. For example, pink trousers can be worn with a beige top, a dark purple cardigan and black ankle boots. A pink sweater will look good with skinny jeans or a denim skirt.

If you choose a bright pink item, then for a casual look it is better to wear it with gray. This will somewhat muffle the “sound” of pink.

In autumn or spring, you can wear pink coats with a laconic cut, complementing them with neutral accessories. It is best to sew a peach-colored coat, as this shade suits everyone.

Evening looks

Dazzling evening looks can be created using a pink dress. It can be silk, satin, lace, chiffon. Accessories for such a dress should be chosen in black or gold; they look most impressive against a pink background.

An evening trouser suit made of pink fabric looks interesting and unusual. In addition to the suit, you can choose a black or white top.

Wedding fashion

Pink color is very romantic, so it is often used for wedding dresses. It is advisable to use warm tones of pink, but only if they suit the girl. White dresses with pink decor look stylish and cute.

Makeup and jewelry

To look beautiful in a pink robe, you need to pay attention to makeup. The first and indispensable condition is a perfectly even complexion tone. If there are imperfections, then you should use correctors.

For daytime makeup with pink clothes, it is recommended to choose light shades of lipstick and beige eyeshadow. In the evening, you can use golden or silver shadows, but you should not overdo it with glitter. It is strictly not recommended to use eye shadow or blush that matches the shade of the dress, unless, of course, you want to look like Barbie.

It is better to choose jewelry for a pink dress from yellow metal. The color of the stones is chosen according to the same principle as the color of clothing accessories.

Choice of stars

Pink is the color of real ladies. Suffice it to remember that Queen Elizabeth II often wears pink clothes.

Movie stars often choose pink dresses. Scarlett Johansson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz and others look beautiful in pink.

Pink is an ambiguous color. But he certainly doesn’t leave anyone indifferent. He is loved and hated, but nevertheless, he is back in fashion. This means that the question of what color pink goes with is relevant again. It's actually not that easy to find the answer. The fact is that pink has a very wide palette of shades - from pale, rich coral to bright, . And it depends on the shade which color goes better with pink.

The most classic and true combination of pink and black. Black can be combined with delicate, pale pink and bright, rich pink - everything will look stylish. Black gives pink solidity and nobility. For older ladies, a combination of black and pink is better, where black is the main one and pink complements it.

One of the right combinations of pink is with gray. Boring gray reveals itself surrounded by pink, becoming pastel and cozy. It is important, of course, to pay attention to the shades that both are so rich in. So, it is better to take gray color light, even, and pink - delicate, muted, not bright. The combination of pink and beige is also often found. Beige shades are warm and calm, which is why they harmonize so well with delicate, fawn pink. A pink dress, a beige jacket or cardigan, a stylish beige bag and shoes are a great outfit for working in the office.

One of the classic combinations is pink and white. White can perfectly highlight the brightness and richness of pink, making the image more festive and elegant.
Bright shades of pink in clothes in combination are perfect for young girls. with blue, . This color combination creates a fun, light, playful mood. So, for example, blue jeans, a hot pink top and ballet shoes, and of course some blue accessories.

But the combination of pink and purple adds mystery to the image. Calm, therefore more suitable for older and serious girls.
