The fashion marathon continues in London, where Fashion Week will be held from 14 to 18 September. Foggy Albion is a well-known forge of young talented designers, but recently the rates of the local Week have been growing due to major participating brands, as well as significant guests, for example, Queen Elizabeth II at the show of newcomer Richard Quinn last season. Who will we see among the guests this time and what to expect from London Fashion Week - in our material.

Of course, the biggest intrigue of the season is the debut of Riccardo Tisci as creative director of Burberry. We will see the first collection of Riccardo in a new position on September 17th. In July, Tisci announced a collaboration between the British House and Vivienne Westwood, and although the collection will go on sale only in December, this unexpected move by the Italian makes us understand that with his arrival, Burberry is definitely waiting for radical changes (which is worth an updated brand logo).

The debut of London Fashion Week will also be for Alexa Chung - a journalist, blogger and fashionista will first show her own brand collection on the catwalk on September 15th. Chang launched the clothing line of the same name in May last year, managed to present it in Moscow and will now conquer London Fashion Week. Alexa's brand has become another proof that brands founded by stars are as interesting to the public as the works of graduates of Central Saint Martins and major fashion houses. There is a place for everyone.

Victoria Beckham decided to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her brand by returning to her native land. Despite the fact that the office is actually based in London, Victoria Beckham shows have always been held at New York Fashion Week. We will be able to assess whether the change of location affected Victoria's fantasy on September 16th. We assume that the show will be nostalgic, and perhaps in the front row we will see the full line-up of the Spice Girls.

Shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood, who had previously limited himself to small presentations in Paris, also decided to host a full Nicholas Kirkwood show as part of the London Week's main schedule. “I live and work in London and find my inspiration here, so it was a logical step. I'm not going to do a show in a traditional format, everything will be much more complicated and interesting," Kirkwood shared.

Despite the fact that British fashion is considered one of the most conservative, the London Fashion Week shows brought a lot of interesting surprises.

Ready-to-Wear Fashion Week Fall-Winter 17-18 was held in London from 17 to 21 February 2017. The guests of the fashionable capital had the opportunity to visit the bright shows organized by the most famous fashion houses and appreciate the stylish looks offered by eminent couturiers for 2017-2018.

We invite you to get acquainted with the fashion trends that are set in the new season by the 10 most interesting London Fashion Week collections:

  • Burberry
  • Versus Versace
  • Victoria Beckham
  • Christopher Kane
  • Joseph

  • Burberry

    • men's style;
    • layering of images;
    • stylish asymmetry.

    In addition to extravagant shirt dresses and all sorts of layered combinations with elements of lingerie style, Burberry invites girls to replenish their wardrobe in 2018 with a fashionable cape, masculine-style jumpsuit and oversized sweater.

    For men who are ready for bold experiments, Burberry couturiers offer sweaters and shirts decorated with lace and embroidery.

    You will find the most detailed photo review of fashionable bows of this famous brand, as well as a video of the show, in the article dedicated to the Burberry autumn-winter 2017-2018 collection.

    Versus Versace

    The Versus Versace fall-winter 2017-2018 prat-a-porter collection is a mixture of youth style and gothic style coming back into fashion. Designers offer many stylish looks for women and men in black, deep burgundy and blue, as well as bright things in blue and pink.

    For the upcoming season, Versus supports the following women's fashion trends:

    • emphasized broad shoulders and narrow hips;
    • mini skirts and loose sweaters;
    • high collars and oversized jackets.

    Victoria Beckham

    In the new season, Victoria Beckham decided to move away from the style of sporty chic, offering fashionistas bright and stylish classic bows that emphasize femininity and grace. The designer diluted the classic blue and beige colors with colorful prints and bright abstract patterns.

    The collection invites fashionistas in 2018 to pay attention to such fashionable things as:

    • classic cut jackets;
    • coats with puffed sleeves and trendy capes;
    • blouses and dresses made of light translucent fabrics;
    • cozy spacious sweaters;
    • high gloves.

    Christopher Kane

    Images from Christopher Canet turned out to be very diverse. The collection can be divided into three branches:

  • Exquisite tenderness - these are sophisticated images in delicate pastel shades, the highlight of which are patterns of floral themes.
  • Modern classics are fashionable bows, in which the strict cut of dresses was effectively complemented by exclusive decorative elements, as well as the color or texture of fabrics.
  • Extravagant chic - design ideas for the most daring fashionistas who want to surprise with non-standard solutions and spectacular looks.
  • Again, such fashion trends as asymmetry and visually extended shoulder line, pleated skirts and shirts with long sleeves are visible.

    Joseph

    The Joseph brand is associated with the avant-garde of world fashion. For many years, the fashion house has been among the trendsetters of current trends, which were listened to not only by British designers, but also by couturiers from Italy and France.

    The collection from Joseph is a completely new look at the female classic look. Fashionable bows combine elegance and creativity, classic shades and non-standard cutting techniques, laconic lines and extravagance of decor.

    In 2018, the young Joseph team suggests paying attention to the following fashion trends:

    • small floral print;
    • stylish overalls;
    • oversized sweaters;
    • jackets and raincoats made of genuine leather;
    • bright color accents.

    Simone Rocha

    The Simone Rocha collection for the fall-winter 2017-2018 season is a conservative color scheme combined with military style elements and floral prints. The designer opposes classic femininity and sophistication with rough platform sandals, dressed on a high toe, and extravagant fur shoes for military-style images, the youth of model girls - life experience and the natural beauty of women of age.

    To create fashionable looks for the 2017-2018 season, Simone Rocha offers:

    • light dresses made of transparent fabrics with a floral pattern;
    • jackets and skirts, designed in a single style;
    • stylish black raincoats with voluminous decor;
    • natural fur boa;
    • luxury coats.

    Natasha Zinko

    Designer Natalya Zinko has been presenting fashionable looks at London Fashion Week for several years now, surprising guests with bright color combinations and unusual design solutions for fashionable bows. The last fashion show of the fall-winter 2017-2018 season, held in London, was no exception and gave fashionistas a lot of stylish looks in the spirit of the 60s. The retro style promises to become the trend of the next season, and therefore patent leather, denim and large polka dots presented in the collection will be relevant again.

    Guests of the show and fashion critics noted such interesting elements as cropped jackets, layered looks with bustiers and mini skirts, as well as short shorts, which the designer proposes to wear over sports leggings.

    Erdem

    The Erdem collection is incredibly beautiful dresses emphasizing grace, femininity and elegance.

    Following the current trends of the season, Erdem offers:

    • layering of the image;
    • maxi length dresses and skirts;
    • openwork fabrics;
    • bright floral prints;
    • noble velvet.

    The collection offers a large selection of dress models that the designer proposes to combine with sock-boots fashionable in 2018 or with pointe shoes, the high lacing of which favorably emphasizes the beauty of women's legs.

    Daks

    Connoisseurs of true British classics highly appreciated the looks of 2017-2018 presented at London Fashion Week by Daks fashion house. The designer successfully diluted the traditional for England plaid and universal neutral tones with a light floral print and bright accents in the current shade of marin. According to Ducks, the following will be especially popular in the upcoming season:

    • gray total bow;
    • elegant capes;
    • cropped classic trousers;
    • jackets in men's style;
    • combination of the print on the bag and the main elements of the image.

    fashion east

    If the traditional aristocratic bows in the British spirit seem too boring to you, pay attention to the looks that the Fashion East brand offers in 2017-2018. In an effort to get away from the grayness of autumn colors, the designers tried to fill the collection with bright colors and the most unexpected stylistic combinations. So, the collection includes:

    • dresses in today's popular lingerie style;
    • extravagant bows with ethnic notes;
    • oversized down jackets.

    The London week was also rich in outrageous design ideas. In addition to classic looks and models over 60, you could also see such characters on the catwalk.

    Let's move on to the main thing - to the things without which we will not be able to fully meet the spring-summer 2018 fashion season. Fortunately, Fashion Week is in full swing, so there will be no shortage of bright outfits. Next in line is the street fashion of London. Warning: it is addictive (just like our site).

    "Black and White Cinema"

    The base will remain the base, whatever one may say. We spied on the streets of London how girls “revive” black and white dresses so as not to go crazy from monotony.

    Oversized knitted sweater + midi skirt

    London's spring-summer 2018 street fashion is based on the feeling of comfort anytime, anywhere. If a new day is greeted with rain and cold wind, which a priori does not have to wear skirts, deceive it with a voluminous sweater and ubiquitous sneakers (however, no one has yet canceled rough boots and suede ankle boots).

    Massive earrings

    Street style goddesses have been calling for massive earrings for several seasons. I put on these - and my beloved will whisper tenderness in my ear all evening.

    Gray plaid suit

    Tired of the morning leapfrog in front of the mirror? Stock up on a gray checkered suit so as not to worry about what to combine with. Choose a deliberately masculine silhouette if you want to appear Thumbelina in it.

    High waist wide leg trousers

    In the spring of 2018, trousers turn into a universal thing that you want to wear to the office, and on a date, and on a social gathering. Pair them with a wool sweater and crossbody. It seems nothing extraordinary, but look in the mirror!

    Oversized denim jacket

    All you need to do is to throw a denim jacket over your shoulders and do not fasten it. Otherwise, why did you choose this chiffon dress for so long?

    Belt bag

    He came, he saw, he won, he ran to experiment. We have reviewed the outfits of London fashionistas and are ready to make a verdict: in order for the bag to play not a secondary role in the image, but a full-fledged solo, it is worth fixing it on the belt. The accessory goes well with wide trousers and a coat with a floral print. Our favorite is the velvet belt bag from Gucci.

    sporty chic

    Velvet boots, a pink down jacket, trousers with stripes and a voluminous sweater are not just sporty chic, but a cunningly planned action to conquer the hearts of street style photographers.

    An elongated jacket is a bright element of street style

    Solo or in tandem with trousers - an elongated jacket looks advantageous in any scenario. We were inspired by the combination of a pink dress and a nude jacket.

    Bordeaux color

    Street style - the images shown at London Fashion Week often referred to the Marsala color. We could not ignore this trend and are already scouring the city in search of new things in this shade. So what? We will be the first swallows of spring.

    metallic

    The girl who walks around the city in a silver dress is full of strength, inspiration and creative energy. Wind on your mustache!

    Shoes that will tell everything for you

    Leather over the knee boots with the inscription for walking - in case you do not go out in slippers to a fashion show.

    rainbow stripe

    A classic of the spring season (we figured that it would not leave the pages of our site soon).

    The fashion weeks marathon that started in New York, continued in London and Milan, and came to an end in Paris has recently come to an end. Counting all the impressions is a laborious and generally useless business, as well as forcing you to randomly search for interesting information. Over the course of a month, we
    behind all the shows, analyzed the most original collections for meanings and references
    and at the end of each of the four weeks they analyzed what they saw and drew conclusions. To make it easier for you to navigate the situation and choose which event to study in detail, we have compiled a digest of the highlights from all fashion weeks.

    Calvin Klein

    Concentrated America was still felt
    in the designer's last collection for Calvin Klein. Now, although he continues to develop this topic, he still avoids direct quotes in the spirit of the American flag or cowboy boots.
    In the new season, Simons decided to delve into the world of associative images and symbols that flood the pop cultural spectacle.
    American horror films, full of cliché images of cheerleaders and schoolgirls, Simons turned into
    into a rather harsh allegory for the real horrors of American reality.

    Helmut Lang

    Minimalism, which Lang went in pairs
    with agenderism, Shane Oliver became aggressive and openly fetishistic: asymmetrical leather bras for men and women, men's bodysuits in the form of a belt construction, PVC, leather pants and raincoats, made in red and black colors. From the archives of the 90s, translucent tops, asymmetrical tailoring, plain white T-shirts, complex snow-white suits and metallic raincoats have returned. However, Lang's naivete and sophisticated simplicity, which once made him the favorite designer of the New York creative intelligentsia, faded into the background.
    and lost in Oliver's desire to show his contribution to the brand.

    Marc Jacobs

    It was difficult to trace a single leitmotif - it seems that the designer was inspired by the collective image of the discharged and multinational New York crowd, which is familiar to everyone who has ever been there, and even more so lives. Models opened the show in bright baggy suits and cardigans that looked like they were off the shoulder of a man, which somehow blended harmoniously with exotic turbans. Further on the podium, everything was mixed up: rhinestones, African-style flyaways, evening dresses, fur boais, elegant long gloves in the spirit of the opera singer Cynthia Hawkins from Jean-Jacques Benex's film "Diva".

    Main results

    The attention of the public was focused on the newcomers to the schedule - Raf Simons (although he can hardly be called a newcomer) and Oliver Shane
    as part of Helmut Lang, who this season have shown themselves to be innovators, able to create trends, and not follow them, unlike many young and not very designers this season.

    Judging by the collections shown in New York, the main trends of the coming season will be clothes with deliberately American motifs, clothes made of transparent fabrics, midi length skirts and others.

    The best shows. London

    J.W. Anderson

    Everyone is used to seeing the avant-garde in the work of Jonathan Anderson, the numerous cultural references and the neglect of the concept of gender - take at least the men's collection show, for which he dressed the guys in frilly skirts. Now the designer is increasingly turning to simplicity, explaining this by the desire to "return to the man himself." The spring-summer women's collection was a direct continuation of this idea - the designer was inspired by prehistoric times, when there were no clothes as such.

    Christopher Kane

    The designer built his collection on the paradoxes of "private - public" and "housewives - BDSM". Starting with pretty homemade ruffles and ending with tailoring as a reference to serious brothel guests, the collection from image to image acquired an increasingly frank and sexy character. An oxymoron cloak made of black glossy leather in the spirit of BDSM with a white ruffle collar became an irony for prim housewives and their not quite prim thoughts, and transparent dresses with frills parodied negligees.

    Burberry

    Christopher Bailey seems to have decided to seriously take on the rethinking of the brand in the direction of commercial success. Firstly, Bailey added curation to his main work: the designer presented a retrospective exhibition of 20th-century photography, and also invited Gosha Rubchinsky to shoot several bows from the collection, and these pictures were also included in the exhibition. The collection itself has become a mix of British cultural codes - chavs and aristocracy.

    London Fashion Week has traditionally been one of the most eccentric and fun, with young designers drawn to the energy of London's streets and some of the best design universities in Western Europe. As for the trends of the spring-summer 2018 season, according to the participants of London Fashion Week, you should pay attention to everything that is covered with sequins or flowers in their most diverse manifestations (from prints to applications), as well as things in a dynamic color palette that can be called nothing more than "pop art".

    The best shows. Milan

    Gucci

    The theme of ancient paganism and the worship of idols was traced both in clothes and in accessories that resembled amulets; among them were not only beads and pearls, but also horns. And models in floor-length dresses, with boleros and hoods looked like priestesses. At the same time, the collection itself has become more of an ode to the kitsch of the 70s. It was symbolized by tousled hairstyles from the movie "Hairspray", wide-brimmed hats, satin and velvet kitsch jackets as if from the shoulder of the Rolling Stones. And Elton John became the main character of the collection, as evidenced by shiny bodysuits, shining overalls and geometric glasses in rhinestones.

    Prada

    Miuccia Prada has already made it clear what side she takes on feminism - in the last collection, the designer invited women to resist the darkness with the help of kitsch and glamour, and this season she decided to take an even tougher stance. Tayloring, tomboy style and rave became the main ingredients in the riot girl look through the prism of Prada. T-shirt prints adorned the drawings of artists of the 30s and 60s, they also appeared on the scenery of the show.

    Versace

    Donatella Versace made the spring-summer 2018 collection a tribute to the life and work of her brother. For the first time, the designer returned to the catwalk iconic items from the collections of Gianni Versace, which were released from 1991 to 1995: among them Vogue, Warhol, Animalia, Native Americans, Tresor de la Mer and others. The show was closed, as in the 90s, by supermodels Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen.

    Fashion Week in Milan this season was remembered for personnel changes and memorable shows. Roberto Cavalli's new creative director Paul Surridge showed his first collection, while Lucy and Luke Mayer made their debut at Jil Sander. At Milan Fashion Week, the key trends were animal-print dresses, jackets, raincoats and other items, things in the spirit of intellectual minimalism and western motifs already seen in New York.

    Finished London Fashion Week FW 2018-2019, giving us a charge of fashionable mood for the upcoming autumn-winter season. It is still too early to buy new clothes, so we suggest you catch inspiration in street style chronicles. The most interesting and cool outfits straight from the London streets are in today's selection.

    London clothing style: let your imagination run wild

    We throw a party for no reason and imagine what we will wear in a year. London street style is an endless maze. But you know - we will not leave you without fashion tips. Wind on the mustache (and down).

    • At London Fashion Week fall-winter 2018-2019, total looks were absolutely everywhere: both on the catwalk and on the streets. To replicate this new-old trend in style, wear monochrome pieces in any order. The most popular shades are red, lavender, yellow and nude.
    • Basque (yes, it still exists) emphasizes the waist, correctly placing accents in the image. So suddenly a straight-cut dress is lying around in your closet, and you can’t get rid of the thought that (oh, horror!) It doesn’t color you, then the peplum comes to the fore.
    • Images in the style of sportswear - love and adoration. There are no comments here.
    • Leopard print is the absolute trend of 2018. Let's give free rein to the animal nature and get ready to conquer the stone jungles.
    • How far are we willing to go in investing in our own style? London fashionistas, for example, carry a mesh bag without remorse, which is too similar to the one they take with them to the market.
    • When choosing sunglasses, remember: the narrower the lenses, the better. Cat eye glasses have been in trend for several seasons in a row. Let's be honest: such an accessory will add coolness to even the most boring look. Street style - the goddesses of London do not go out without them.
    • Plaid coats and jackets will never lose ground, which was once again proved by the guests of London Fashion Week. Let's add on our own: bright accessories in the image can put you on a par with the best trendsetters in the world.
