Girls, you're going to die right now: here are Gucci, and Hermes, and Chanel, and Chloe! Whatever superbrand you take, the products of any of them have been touched by the hardened hands of local tanners. And they work in a place as far away from catwalks and boutiques as possible: in dark and small workshops in the middle of a tiny white town, lost in the mountains of Andalusia.

I got to Ubrik to see with my own eyes what it is, the best handmade leather in the world.

1 Spread out in a picturesque valley, the town of Ubrique is a real Spanish hole. There is no airport or railway station here, buses run rarely and only from the outskirts. Ubrique is part of the White Cities of Andalusia tourist route, but unlike its neighbors, there would be absolutely nothing to do here if not for the skin.

2 The products of the local leather workshops are famous all over the world and cost a lot of money. Believe it or not, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Hermes, Chanel, Chloe, Loewe and Carolina Herrera employ artisans here. Ubrik is the birthplace of the most sought-after handbags, wallets and belts. But almost none of these designers want to talk about it.

Only a few craftsmen receive orders for bags, which then cost thousands of dollars. The bulk are consumer goods and inexpensive items of average quality: in Ubrik there are more than a hundred workshops for the manufacture of women's handbags and men's wallets, this has historically become the main business in the city.

3 This secrecy stems from the fear that someone will copy the designs of expensive brands to produce cheap items, a costly problem for luxury brands. Each employee of such a factory signs a confidentiality agreement, photographs are not allowed at the workplace, and some deposit their phones before the start of the shift. Designers are prohibited from using elements or parts of the products to create their own models. Most likely, the observance of the rules is strictly monitored, but no one bothers to use the accumulated experience and connect the imagination.

4 Some workshops have their own brands and even company stores. You can find high-quality leather items in them for quite “ridiculous” money compared to luxury bag brands, while they will be made by the same hands. Not a copy, not a fake, but a creatively redesigned model. But who needs checkers, and who should wear them?

5 Going on a trip to Andalusia, I decided at all costs to be at one of the leather factories: I wrote several letters, and almost everywhere I was refused. We have secrecy, we can not in any way. Only one atelier, which has its own brand of bags - El Potro, responded positively. Many Ubrique craftsmen today work only on pre-orders, and the team of Signor Jorge Oliva (pictured) makes bags from start to finish. We will not exclude the possibility that on odd days they sew for Louis Vuitton, but we cannot talk about this. And show your own handbags - as much as you like.

6 That's how I learned that suede is the reverse side of leather. Although in reality everything is more complicated, suede for bags must be specially dressed, processed and impregnated, but in the beginning everything is so.

7 Bags in Ubrik began to be made relatively recently, about 150 years ago. Before that, they were engaged in more rough work, leather tanning, but then they adapted to the manufacture of leather goods, and this brought world fame to the city. Spanish craftsmen lost the war to international corporations, and even today it is Italian brands that are valued in the world, but few people think about where they are actually made.

8 There are about a hundred family businesses in the town, the principle of production is more or less the same, although of course each family has its own secrets.

9 Each worker has his own area of responsibility, one measures a piece of leather, the other makes a stitching, the third glues several patches into a bag. It would be stupid to sign each photo, and it is so clear what is happening on them: just watch and learn :)

19 The tanner's most important tool is the mallet. I saw how they work with leather in Russia, for some reason it is customary to use large, almost construction hammers, the Spaniards have delicate and very miniature hammers.

20 I can imagine how much criticism there will be now that this is garbage and cheap (a favorite thing for blog commentators is to criticize everyone), but your expensive handbag (if you have one) was made in exactly the same way, and probably in the same workshop.

21Final touch - tags, labels, certificate of conformity with European standards.

22 Bags are sent to a warehouse where they are stored until they are taken to the store.

23 In Ubrik, El Potro has its own “flagship salon”, and in general their products are sold throughout Spain and Portugal, sometimes bags are found even in Russia and Ukraine, but for the past few years their collections have not been purposefully imported to us.

24 I recently showed you how to . Most of the things in the world are now made there, no matter what it is: clothes, electronics or luxury goods. But over time, some industries return production to old Europe. For Spain, and especially Andalusia, suffering from years of crisis and unemployment, this is a paddle to grab onto.

25 I don’t know how these Louis Vuittons and other diors are doing, but Andalusian artisans make high-quality, and most importantly inexpensive things and try to support each other: in the El Potro store, in addition to their handbags, they sell cool sheepskin scarves made at the same family factory in neighboring province of Grazalema. So be on the lookout for small shops and family businesses when traveling around Europe, not just the touristy boutique streets.

If you liked the post, please like and comment. And come tomorrow at 10 am - there will be a continuation about Spain!

Hello my Reader!

April 29th is my middle sister's birthday, Anna. By the way, I have two beloved sisters. Anna, 5 years younger than me and Tatyana, 15 years younger. Both are gifted and interesting personalities.

But today we are talking about the middle one, Anyuta. Her life story is like millions of others as valuable as mine or yours. In which, there is a search for the meaning of life, purpose, ways of survival, love, illness and relationships.

At different stages of our search and choice of path, there are economic difficulties. This is especially acute when your crisis coincides with the crisis in the country. My sister found herself in the same situation this year.

The birthday was celebrated in a narrow family circle and after a sweet, the two of us, on the balcony, talked about our own, about women, about lack of money, sent resumes, about self-doubt and much more. The girls will understand

So, in the course of the conversation, sorting through the options, at least part-time jobs, to support the panties, it dawned on me!

No not like this. It hit me hard to realize that this insight had not come to us before.

My sister, of course, knows that I, quite successfully, sew and sell my handbags and teach the same thing on the Internet. Anyuta has the necessary sewing skills, like most women in our country. Cut out according to the pattern, sweep, sew, put trousers on. This is done on a case-by-case basis, that is, irregularly, but as needed. On an ordinary household typewriter company BROTHER.

I think you guessed what I suggested when the stunned one turned to her?

Of course it is: - Why don't you start sewing bags from jeans? Minimum cost - good profit! I'll help you figure it out.

I liked the idea, they began to discuss the details, and here, I received a list of why it would not work. All items on the list, I read regularly in letters from my readers. And then I got the majority from one person. Panic was pure.

We read and look for our option:

- I sew badly, little experience;

- and a pattern! Where will I take?

- my lines are crooked;

- Who will buy this?

- but I don’t know how to sew correctly;

Where do you get so many jeans? and what accessories are needed ... and further down the list;

Will my machine take jeans?

Where can I sell and to whom?

I have never sewn zippers.

I made some effort to convince her to just try. After all, except for the time, which she had a lot due to lack of work, she did not lose anything. All my resources, for a quick start, I offered for use.

Why am I describing this in such detail?

Because I see a lot of such cases.

Perhaps the situation with my sister will help you decide on something. Just Try!

And also, so that you start watching the video from a different point of view. I understand. that everyone, anyway, will see his own.

A week later, we began to choose a design, jeans for a bag, and made a pattern. My sister tried to sew on my typewriter, it is industrial. After some funny and not so funny moments, I realized that this should be filmed, at least a little bit, but for life.

Fears, worries, excitement and most importantly, the Result!

See before and after, hear insights and insights.

I honestly tried to cut something to make the video smaller. But, for me, every second is valuable there!

That's why! Big request! Look with interest or indifference, with impatience or irony, trustworthy or respectful.

But, if you experience irritation and negativity, just close the video and article and look for more positive information)))

I share with you my family archive. You can see my workshop there, in which there is a creative mess and protracted repairs. The usual life situation, as it is, without background, clippings and directing. I love stories like this, original and real.

If it helps you start doing something, I will consider that it helped another person.

Well? Let's get started!

A Louis Vuitton bag is the ultimate dream for many fashion fans. This accessory is considered ideal for almost any outfit and is appropriate in any situation. The owner of the LV bag is at the same time aware of the latest trends and fashion history, has good taste and respects high quality. But, unfortunately, Louis Vuitton is too famous and popular: The history of counterfeits of brand accessories begins in the 19th century and passes into the 20th and then into the 21st with almost no changes in quantity. According to Forbes, LV bags are one of the 8 most counterfeited things in the world, along with Ugg boots, Rolex watches and even 50 euro bills. But if in the early years of the brand’s existence it was difficult to distinguish the so-called “fakes” from genuine products, now this problem can be solved in many ways, common in which are knowledge of the nuances of production and the history of the most forged fashion brand in the world.

1. There are NO discounts on Louis Vuitton.

The cost of a genuine Louis Vuitton bag is from 300 euros. Prices for wallets and other accessories start at 150 euros. Louis Vuitton is a brand that never sells or has discounts. Also, brand products cannot be sold in bulk.

ADVICE: the official website louisvuitton.com contains a list of boutiques where you will be offered genuine brand products without discounts, but with registration in the brand database, a lifetime warranty and other documents.

2. Louis Vuitton is NOT sold in multi-brand boutiques.

Louis Vuitton bags are sold only in LV branded boutiques. Fakes are offered in multi-brand boutiques and online stores. At online auctions, it is also almost impossible to purchase the original.

ADVICE: genuine Louis Vuitton bags should be purchased only in branded boutiques of the brand, and it is better abroad. In this case, you get a product that will last for many years, and if any defects occur, the specialists will properly eliminate them. Also in the Louis Vuitton boutique, your initials can be put on the bag using the “hot stamping” technology.

3. Louis Vuitton releases each bag series NOT in all colors and materials of the brand.

Each series of the Louis Vuitton brand has certain shapes, colors and is sewn from specific materials. For example, in the Multicolor series, which has been produced since 2003, the Backpack, Ellipse and Papillon models are not represented. The Cherry Blossom series, developed in 2004, does not include the Alma, Speedy, Pegase and Cabas models. Most Louis Vuitton handbags are made from a unique canvas material that cannot be replicated in a fake. The monogrammed models are predominantly made of calfskin, the Suhali line uses goat leather, while the Lockit and Alma bags are made of alligator leather. In 2009, models with elements of python skin were released, and Galliera bags can be made both from this skin and from canvas. Leather elements on classic Louis Vuitton models should have a light caramel hue when purchased, which becomes darker, honey when worn. A fake can also impersonate the color and material of the lining. The original Speedy and Batignolles with the classic LV monogram are always lined in brown cotton canvas. The Speedy Damier Azur has a beige lining and the Speedy Damier Ebony has a red lining. The lining in the white bags of the Multicolor line is red, in the black bags it is grey-beige.

ADVICE: to buy an original Louis Vuitton, you need to know the history of the brand. Therefore, before choosing a bag, study the site Louis Vuitton.com. Look at the model you are interested in, study its shape, color and details. In the boutique, pay attention to the fact that real bags go on sale with handles wrapped in cellophane, but on the trading floor they are displayed without it.

4. Modern Louis Vuitton DOES NOT have labels and patches with the brand name, as well as material samples on the outside of the bag.

Modern Louis Vuitton bags have brand name patches on the inside of the bag. On vintage models, the owner's name patch may be located on the outside. Labels on Louis Vuitton bags are located in the pocket or inside the bag. The price tag can also be packed in an envelope. Samples of the material from which they are made cannot be attached to genuine products.

ADVICE: Check for the code on the LV bag. All models released since 1995 have a code consisting of two letters and four numbers. It must be identical on every part of the bag, including the enclosed wallet.

5. The elements of each type of Louis Vuitton monogram can NOT look different.

The classic Monogram Toile canvas bags have been in production since 1966. Since then, the monogram Not has changed. Logos in traditional models, as well as in products of the Multicolore, Cerises, Vernis, etc. series, are horizontally symmetrical with respect to the handles, center and sides of the bag. The monograms can be reversed on one side of the product if it is made from a single piece of leather without a seam on the bottom (like the Keepall, Papillon and Speedy models).

ADVICE: The logo is an iconic element of the Louis Vuitton fashion house, so pay close attention to the placement of the monograms when buying. Each bag is designed with logos and graphics in mind, so the logo cannot be cut, stitched or misaligned. An inverted monogram is allowed only on bags not made in France, because there they are not sewn from a single piece of leather. There are no red symbols in real bags of the Multicolore line , and logos of the same color cannot be placed side by side. A total of 33 colors are used in this series' monogram: 24 for the flowers and 9 for the LV logos.

6. A Louis Vuitton bag can NOT contain manufacturing defects.

Louis Vuitton bags are always sewn symmetrically and neatly. Low-quality fakes are eliminated at the price determination stage, but expensive fakes often have imperfections that cannot be found in the originals. So, all metal parts on the originals are marked Louis Vuitton or LV. On a triangle with a key, the inscription is located at the bottom close to the edge, and the key hole itself should be deep and have a metal pin inside in the middle. Under the hole should be an engraving of Louis Vuitton.

ADVICE: Before buying a Louis Vuitton bag, examine its seams. They should be small and perfectly even. On the same elements of the bag, the line consists of one number of stitches. There should always be 10 on the corner, and 5 on the loop connecting the handles to the base. On the back of the leather triangle of the Speedy bag, the size is indicated - 30, 45 or 55.

7.

Most Louis Vuitton bags are made in France. But originals can also be produced in Spain, Germany, Italy or the USA. Modern "Made in USA" bags can only be sold in the USA.

ADVICE: Read the label on the bag carefully. On the original, the registered trademark icon "R" should be located on top, after it - the brand name "Louis Vuitton", then - the word "Paris". The bottommost inscription is the country of origin in the format "Made in ...". If there is a metal tablet on the outside, the information on it must be indicated in the following form: "Depose En France Et A L'etranger Louis Vuitton - Inventeur - 101, Avenue Des Champs Elysees, Paris".

8. A Louis Vuitton bag can NOT be packed in multiple ways.

The original Louis Vuitton packaging also has a number of features. The metal parts of the new bag are not covered with cloth or cellophane. Upon purchase, the product is wrapped in white paper and sealed with a sticker - rectangular with the Louis Vuitton inscription or round with the LV logo. Next, the product is placed in a branded case of light yellow or mustard color (depending on the country of origin). The bag in a cover is placed in a box of dark brown color with a beige sliding part. The box has a special tongue for easy opening and is tied on top with a rubber rope similar in texture to leather. The package in which the packed bag is placed is made of dense, slightly rough dark brown material and has wicker handles.

ADVICE: check the inscription on the package in which the product you purchased is placed. The original package is marked "LOUIS VUITTON - Maison Fonde'e en 1854 - Paris", and the presence of all the words and their order are crucial. Also, genuine products have two labels, one of which contains the names of the line and the material of the bag, and the other has a barcode, the model name in French and the date number. Labels are not attached to the bag.

Legend

Even the world's celebrities are not immune from Louis Vuitton fakes. At one of the social events, Victoria Beckham was seen with a fake brand. After this embarrassment, Marc Jacobs, creative director of LV, sent the star an original bag with a note. "Darling, keep the brand."
