  • The elasticity of the fabric used when sewing also affects the allowance used. If the fabric has very good stretch, then you probably don't need much extra.
  • Most ready-made patterns will have instructions on how many extra centimeters you need to add to your measurements to determine the correct size. However, if you are building a pattern yourself, then it would be better for you to add 5-10 cm to the volume of the hips (depending on how tight-fitting the clothes should be).
  • If you are a curvaceous person, then to provide additional freedom of movement, you can increase the measure of the hips even more.
