Leaf patterns

Outlines of a MAPLE leaf.

The maple leaf is the most beautiful. Its carved shape with pentagonal protrusions and its vibrant fall colors make it the king of all fall crafts. We offer you several types of maple leaves in clear and large patterns.

All pictures are presented in enlarged format (up to A4 sheet size). You can see the actual size of the picture if you click on it with your mouse.

The maple leaf template can serve as a stencil for a variety of crafts. Here is one of the interesting ideas AUTUMN GARLAND. We take a regular white New Year's garland and wrap the white LED light bulbs with yellow transparent tape (electrical tape). And from yellow plastic (sold in sheets in hardware stores) we cut out the contours of maple leaves. We attach them next to the LED light bulbs.

A variety of shapes of maple leaf templates... with smooth smooth edges and torn carved ones.

You can print out maple leaf designs on sheets for art activities with kids. Their task will be to cover the leaves with plasticine pellets (autumn colors - orange, yellow, red)... or paint the leaves with wax crayons. The colors of the crayons can be mixed by rubbing them with your fingers on the paper.

You can come up with absolutely any coloring for your maple leaf template. Let it be patterns or stripes or round spots.

Little children will love this smiling autumn leaf. This template can be painted with watercolors - the eyes and smile will shine through the watercolor.

OAK leaf patterns.
with acorns.

Oak leaves look beautiful in crafts. Here are beautiful large oak leaf templates for you. And also a black and white drawing of acorns with caps.

It is convenient to paint such large leaf patterns with a brush and gouache. Children will love this drawing activity. The contours and veins of the leaves can later be outlined with black gouache for contrast.

Based on such stencil templates with oak leaves, you can make beautiful crafts for drawing or cutting appliqué.

How to make a craft with oak leaves (pictured below) I described in the article

Here are beautiful patterns of oak leaves with large acorns. This coloring book is very convenient to print for children in kindergarten and use in art classes.

Leaf patterns.
Autumn leaf fall.

Here are more beautiful leaf templates from other trees. Clear contour silhouettes of autumn leaves will become a source of bright crafts for appliqués.

Chestnut leaves pattern. Color it beautifully golden yellow with a reddish brown border around the edges.

Contours of an ash leaf - this leaf turns bright yellow in autumn. Like a sun.

The composition looks beautiful in the form of autumn leaf fall - patterns of leaves flying in the wind. Each leaf can be made a different shade of fall.

You can add templates of other autumn gifts to our autumn assortment of leaves - pumpkin, corn, acorns.

Here is a coloring template with small sized leaves. Suitable for coloring with pencils.

in technology

STRIPED COLORING.

Coloring silhouettes using the CONTRAST STRIPS method looks very nice. That is, we take a regular coloring book with leaf templates and draw straight lines on top of the picture under a ruler. And then we paint all the objects on the sheet alternating these linear zones by color.

In the example below, we see that the coloring is drawn using a compass (round lines) - but these are not necessarily your lines, you can make them with a straight school ruler.

Here are suitable leaf templates that you can draw onto stripes (straight or arced stripes) and then paint in the same style. I alternate the pencils from strip to strip and use different colors for the background areas and different colors for the leaf areas.

Leaf patterns

for SECTOR COLORING.

Very beautiful crafts on the theme of autumn will be obtained if the template of the autumn leaf is divided into sectors and each sector is painted separately with similar shades of the palette or, conversely, with contrasting colors.

You get the feeling of STAINED GLASS... as if the picture was made up of multi-colored pieces of glass. But in fact, this is ordinary watercolor, or crayons, or a pencil (your choice).

As you can see, everything is simple. We take a sheet template and divide it into sectors. We paint each sector with its own color (it is possible with smooth transitions of spills of shades from one to another) And then we outline the entire outline of the sheet along the edges with a clear color.

To make your work easier, I provide leaf TEMPLATES with ALREADY READY sector sawing.

You can simply print out these pictures and give them to the children and ask them to color each sector with different colored crayons. To make coloring faster, you don’t have to change the chalk in your hand every time you move to a new sector. Show the children that it will be faster if you first take a red chalk and color 5-7 different sectors with it (not adjacent ones, but randomly). Then take a yellow chalk and also randomly fill in 5-7 other sectors. It will be faster this way, and you will fit within the time frame of the art activity class.

Large leaf templates can be filled in with a thin brush and watercolor or gouache (like the stencil below).

Leaf patterns

for APPLICATIONS

In kindergarten, leaf templates can be used as stencils for autumn-themed appliqués.
Such leaves made of colored paper can become a background or decor for any application (mushrooms in the foliage or a hedgehog in an autumn meadow).

You can make a paper autumn wreath from such contours - a collective craft in kindergarten (the older group can already cut out leaf shapes with scissors).

Beautiful leaf patterns

for crafts and coloring books.

In kindergarten or in an adult office, they love to color large anti-stress coloring books. So I specifically found templates for such coloring pages made from autumn leaves.

The picture increases in size if you click on it with the mouse.

Also, to help educators and teachers of primary school, I give bare tree templates for crafts on the theme AUTUMN TREE.

  • You can add leaves to these trees using gouache and prints with a wide brush, using fingerprints and cotton swab marks.
  • You can cut small leaves from colored paper and cover the tree with them.
  • You can add bright splashes of paint to tree branches using toothbrush.
  • You can coat the crown with PVA glue and sprinkle with salt and then paint this salty crust with gouache (you’ll get a beautiful texture of autumn foliage)

Here are some more beautiful fall-themed templates. Fly agaric mushrooms and a squirrel on a branch. Your kids will love these fall coloring pages.

And finally, I give you an AUTUMN HEART MADE OF LEAVES - a beautiful template for bright coloring.

These are the interesting craft ideas and a variety of clear leaf patterns that I have prepared for you in this autumn article. Let autumn be bright and bring a rich harvest of your crafts.
Olga Klishevskaya, especially for the site

Let's color the maple leaf.

There are too many autumn leaf templates on the Internet to count. Usually they are required as decoration for events - downloaded, printed on colored paper and cut out. They hung it on the walls and curtains - wow! - golden autumn in nature. And the adults cook everything themselves. Well, and then the grateful kids have fun. But these same autumn leaves are an excellent material for developing children’s hands and eyes. Let them paint and cut out themselves! And holidays with this design will be more dear!

So, the template is a Maple Leaf coloring book for 5-7 year old children. Here he is:

It's a big leaf, there's a lot to work on.

Let's start with tracing. I love outlines! They amazingly strengthen the hand and build confidence not only in the lines, but also in the child’s character.

They circled it - good, they’ve already done a useful job. Now we draw the veins. I usually show the steps on a board or large paper poster. I draw the main five veins one after another, and the students repeat - gradually building their pattern.

Draw the main veins on the leaf

The difficulty for children is to clearly hit the middle longest tooth of each blade with a line. Now let’s draw the lateral branches of the veins - in each clove, we won’t miss a single one, this is not only a steady hand, but also attention training. And besides, you need to draw easily - without pressure, this also requires concentration. We drew a diagram of the veins and... what? - Let's color it again! Yes, we drew the next stage of outlining for ourselves.

Vytynanki is a very ancient type of applied art of the Slavs. It was used to decorate homes both in everyday life and for holidays. Mostly floral or plot designs were used.

We start making the vytynanka by choosing a pattern.

Print your chosen design

and start cutting. I cut out the outline and the largest details with nail scissors with a sharp tip, so that it is convenient to pierce a hole to begin with. It is more convenient to cut out small parts with a stationery knife. For the base, I use a glass or wooden cutting board, but you can use whatever you have on hand.

When all stencils ready to start laminating. Stencils then reuse them many times and they will always remain in excellent condition.

For lamination at home, I use a regular iron with a pre-selected low temperature setting.

since if you “iron” the lamination film at a high temperature, the whole work will “shrink” and deteriorate(

Once you've laminated everything, cut it out. stencils along the contour

and decorate our windows.

Autumn leaf masks

Parents are given the task of preparing maple leaves for the matinee.

One possible solution could be making an autumn maple leaf with your child and then coloring this accessory for a children's costume party.

It is better to make an autumn maple leaf with your child from cardboard or paper.

It will be a special pleasure for a child to do a craft with his parents, especially if at the end of the work there is a finished toy waiting for him - an autumn maple leaf, with which he can play for a long time.

If the child cannot do everything on his own, then, as a rule, the parents are involved in creativity, and the child learns and carefully watches the magical action - how, it would seem, a new toy appears out of nowhere - an autumn maple leaf (so that it does not quickly tear the maple leaf) It is recommended to laminate the sheet for the children's costume party).

Below are pictures that allow you to make a maple leaf with your own hands for a children's costume party.

The next series of children's autumn matinees with fancy dress is being prepared in kindergartens.

Parents are given the task of preparing an autumn mask for the matinee. One possible solution could be to make an autumn leaf mask for the child’s head. It is better to make masks together with your child from cardboard or paper.

It will be a special pleasure for a child to do a craft with his parents, especially if at the end of the work there is a finished toy waiting for him - a mask, with which he can play for a long time.

Naturally, in this creative process, every child needs the help of parents.

If the child is old enough, then parents are required to provide general guidance to the process.

If the child cannot do everything on his own, then, as a rule, the parents are involved in creativity, and the child learns and carefully watches the magical action - how, it would seem, a new toy appears out of nowhere - a carnival mask.

Below are pictures that allow you to make masks of autumn leaves with your own hands: maple, rowan, oak, chestnut, willow, aspen, water lily and larch.

Pictures need to be saved to a computer, inserted into an editor (for example, MS Word), stretched onto an A4 sheet, printed, colored together with the children and, if possible, laminated (if not, pasted on cardboard), cut along the contour and thread a string or elastic band according to the size of the child's head.

If you have a color printer, then you can color the picture together with the children on the computer, and only then print it out.

To color a carnival mask on the computer you need:

1.open the carnival mask in a graphic editor (Start - programs - standard - Paint)

3. save the saved monochrome drawing of a carnival mask as a drawing with a large number of colors (file – save the drawing as -16 colors (or 256 colors))

4. When choosing the fill color of the elements of the carnival mask, you need to color the carnival mask element by element.

Below are the entire library of pictures of autumn leaves: maple, rowan, oak, chestnut, willow, aspen, water lily and larch.

How to make autumn leaves from paper with your own hands (3 methods + templates).

Autumn is probably the most colorful season of the year, thanks to the fact that the leaves of trees and shrubs are painted in bright colors. For many people, autumn leaves are often a source of creative inspiration.

Autumn leaves are a beautiful, but not very durable material, so you can make them from paper with your own hands.

How to make autumn leaves with your own hands

One way to make autumn leaves is to cut them out of colored paper, preferably double-sided. The edges of small leaves can be cut with curly scissors.

Leaves brought home from a walk are suitable as a template. But if you need to do a craft urgently, and there is no way to collect them, then here are leaf templates especially for blog readers "MORE creative ideas for children" :)

All leaves, except the oak one, are symmetrical, so they are applied with a dotted line to the fold line of a sheet of colored paper folded in half. After cutting, straighten the leaf and cut off the excess part of the branch.

The maple leaf template is in the article.

Another way to make autumn leaves with your own hands is to put the leaves you brought from a walk with the convex side of the veins up (the color of the leaves is not important, and Rita and I chose small leaves based on size), cover them with a sheet of regular office paper, and shade them with pastel crayons or very soft pencils suitable colors(we used watercolor pencils).

The contours of the leaf and veins themselves will appear in the drawing.

Leaves of different colors can be made from the same sample.

You can draw single-color leaves, or you can use several colors for one leaf.

In order for the leaves to turn out more openwork (so that only the veins of the leaves are printed), you need to apply almost no pressure on the pencil, and hold the pastel chalk flat.

Cut out the finished leaves.

And another way to make bright colorful leaves with your own hands is to print with leaves.

Cover the actual sheet with paint using a brush (you can use several shades of the same color or even several different colors).

Place the painted side on a sheet of paper. Press tightly with your hands, trying not to move it.

Carefully remove the painted sheet from the paper by the stem.

If you make another print with the same sheet, without covering it with more paint, you will get a more openwork sheet.

Rita and I did it in the same way. We also painted the squirrels and bunnies for this landscape using leaf prints.

Read the article about what can be made from such leaves.
