From the beginning of his career to the present day. The evolution of Renata Litvinova's style. From the beginning of a career to the present day Renata Litvinova's makeup how to do

One of the brightest representatives of Russian cinema. Actress, director, screenwriter - she influenced, however, not only the development of audiovisual arts, but also fashion.

First of all, Litvinova was remembered by the public for her retro looks, referring to the movie divas of the 30s and 40s, but now Renata deftly mimicked a more modern fashion landscape, and in her wardrobe, hoodies and bomber jackets were replaced by boas and veils. the site offers to look at these two extremes of Litvinova's corporate style and choose in which image she likes more.

Cinephiles met Renata Litvinova back in 1989 - the future star, who then just graduated from VGIK, starred in a short episode with Alla Surikova in the film "Two Arrows. Detective of the Stone Age." However, caves and clothes made from the skins of wild animals - this was clearly not the kind of environment in which Renata's unconventional beauty could be fully revealed.

Success came a few years later, along with the role, which in many ways began to shape the public image of Litvinova - in 1994 she played one of the main roles in the film "Hobbies" by Kira Muratova, and in 1997 - in her film almanac "Three Stories", for one of the parts of which Renata wrote the script.

With the director, Renata formed a wonderful creative alliance - together they made six more films, including the film "The Adjuster", which was shown at the Venice Film Festival. "Hobbies" also brought Litvinova the first cover - she appeared on the pages of the magazine "Scenarios".

Well, the general public recognized Renata after the release of the TV series "Border. Taiga Romance", where our today's heroine played the role of Albina Voron - the image of a slightly cutesy, dreamy and aristocratic lady, hovering over all domestic and bourgeois realities, finally entrenched in Litvinova.

In the midst of wild glamor, covered with a thick layer of self-tanner and rhinestones, Renata was far from the mainstream, just like Albina, pouring the Red Moscow perfume into the cleaning lady’s bucket because she couldn’t stand the smell of bleach, was far from ordinary provincial women.

The screen image of an exquisite bohemian lady, as if not of this world, merged with Litvinova in real life so that it was no longer possible to draw a clear line between whether she plays herself in the movie or takes all the best from her heroines and transforms it into a new trend.

Frame from the film "Goddess. How I fell in love"

Solid luxurious retro-stylistics with furs and silks and pale, like porcelain, skin favorably distinguished Renata against the background of the general slightly bazaar "expensive-rich" and the consequences of too frequent visits to the solarium, which was then an integral beauty procedure for all secular ladies.

While bright pink ruled the world, Litvinova chose discreet black. While everyone was dressed in low-waisted jeans and microscopic tops, she stepped out on the red carpet in dresses to the floor, and even in a tuxedo.

In the images of Renata, Marlene Dietrich and Lyubov Orlova were guessed, and the light stoop of a celebrity was even written off as a desire to be like Greta Garbo.

Litvinova copied the style of divas from the past with the utmost attention to detail: a wave hairstyle, large pearl beads, many rings on her fingers, veils, berets and scarves tied in the style of Audrey Hepburn perfectly complemented the image.

The celebrity also relied on vintage when choosing shoes - instead of thin studs, Litvinova chose a steady heel, and instead of styles with a pointed toe (yes, everyone who wanted to be in trend wore this in the 2000s) - old-fashioned shoes with a rounded toe and straps.

The makeup of the star remained unchanged all this time - classic arrows and red lipstick, which Coco Chanel called the main female "fighting" technique: "If you are sad, paint your lips with red lipstick and attack."

But a few years ago, the seemingly unshakable portrait acquired new touches: baroque colors and thin graceful silhouettes were replaced by the conciseness and scarcity of modern art. Instead of long dresses, we increasingly began to see Renata in voluminous sweatshirts, and instead of shoes, over-the-knee boots with a passport cover print from Balenciaga appeared.

In general, friendship with new hype designers from the post-Soviet space, Gosha Rubchinsky and Demna Gvasalia, determined these changes. Litvinova's close cooperation with the Russian designer began in 2016, when the creative duo released the film "The Day of My Death", which became a kind of tribute to the work of Pier Paolo Pasolini and was shown at Pitti Uomo.

Following Litvinova and Rubchinsky together created the play "Northern Wind" - the designer designed the costumes for the production. However, Litvinov willingly wears things from Rubchinsky not only on stage, but also in life. In the case of the Russian party, friendship, like love, also seems to love silence - Litvinova did not officially react to the one that unfolded around the designer's name after the publication of his correspondence with a minor.

Another supplier of new clothes to Renata's wardrobe is Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia. The celebrity, which until recently could be called the reincarnation of all retrodives, began to willingly adopt the features of street mods. Litvinova willingly wears the creations of Gvasalia for Balenciaga, and the clothes of the fashion designer's own brand - Vetements.

By the way, Gvasalia also created merchandise for a black sweatshirt with a red print in the form of the singer's name. Of course, Litvinova also tried it on.

In addition, the star wears a voluminous raincoat with the name Vetements on the back, in which, it seems, absolutely all street style heroes were noted, and with her daughter Ulyana, a deconstructed coat-jacket from Balenciaga.

This "cinematic" make-up with arrows and red lipstick has also disappeared. Today, Litvinova is increasingly putting on a natural beauty look, and not only in everyday life. Without makeup, the star also appeared on the cover of SNC magazine. There have been changes in styling: instead of a strict Hollywood wave, Litvinova now sometimes prefers light negligence, bouffant or the effect of "wet hair".

Renata even decided to change her hair color and once parted with her traditional blond - however, only with the help of a wig. Selfies of stars with a dark square are a real sensation in social networks! Many thought that in this way Litvinova decided to repeat the image of her close friend, whose minimalist masculine style in Renate's clothes is now also close.

However, with the time-tested image of a slightly tired diva, Renata is also in no hurry to part completely. Now the celebrity is a screen version of his performance "Northern Wind" and willingly shares photos from the set with his subscribers.

The scenery again resembles an expensive antique shop, and Renata again gracefully crosses her legs, wears furs, diamonds and hairstyles in the style of Jean Harlow and Vivien Leigh - the brow roll was a notable feature of styling in the 40s.

However, this time Litvinova skillfully reconciles the two opposites of her fashionable image. Many of the outfits in the film are borrowed from the Balenciaga collections, and the jewelry is supplied by the young Moscow jewelry brand Ninotchka Jewels.

It is impossible not to note the courage of Renata - not everyone will decide to radically change their wardrobe and start wearing things in a completely different style. Her longtime fans, however, certainly miss the old image. By the way, the views of the star herself on fashion rules seem to have changed significantly and much of what she wore before no longer fits into Litvinova's new norms. So, the other day she wrote on her Instagram:

In my understanding, how correct and decent women dress: non-tight, not short, green, spacious and unobtrusive.

The celebrity supported the statement with a photo in a Jil Sander outfit, so that everyone could understand what she had in mind.

However, Renata supplied the teaching with a lot of emoticons, which, of course, leaves hope for irony. Otherwise, you will have to admit that half of the celebrity's wardrobe clearly does not pass the test of decency and makes some kind of wrong woman out of her.

Well, which Litvinova do you like more?

On January 12, the goddess of the domestic screen celebrated her anniversary. And when we say "goddess" we mean exactly that. We have a lot of beautiful and talented actresses. But Renata Litvinova, with her unique style, is one of a kind.

But Renata constantly surprises her admirers with statements like:

“Usually I look terrible. Honestly! Nobody will let me lie. And never in my life have I portrayed a sex symbol. If you are sure of this, then you are confusing me with someone else.

Be that as it may, the permanent host of the Fashion Sentence, fashion historian Alexander Vasilyev, said in a recent interview: “We have a lot of beauties, but a style icon is a special title, and Renata Litvinova wears it very correctly.”

Red lipstick

Renata Litvinova is fluent in Coco Chanel's favorite technique: "Smear your lips red and attack." Red lipstick is not just an actress's calling card, with her she is disarmingly beautiful:

Hairstyle

If you want to try on a retro style, the first thing to take care of is the right hairstyle. Renate Litvinova's "Greta Garbo wave" is perfect:

Aristocratic length

The rule of royal etiquette says: the skirt can be of any length, as long as it does not exceed the knees. The actress practically does not violate this rule. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Renata always looks so aristocratic in any outfit (and in some places reminds us of another stylish icon - Princess Charlene).

Perfect scarf

One of Renata's calling cards is a scarf or scarf on her head, tied in the style of Audrey Hepburn and Catherine Deneuve.

vintage shoes

The actress often makes a choice in favor of classic and vintage shoes, which at the same time look very appropriate, completing the image and making it whole, without any “naphthalene”:

Smile

With one corner of the lips and eyes, or openly - this is, of course, Renata's recognizable signature image.

And recently, the Spanish jewelry house Carrera presented Renata Litvinova's film "The Incident in Madrid with Mrs. K."

We bring to your attention a film about the film.

In Russia, perhaps, only this woman knows how to wear black in such a way that you question the existence of other colors. When you first see Renata Litvinova, it seems that she knows some secret that allows her to travel through time. Firstly, to look like a Parisian from the 30s in the 21st century is bold and unusual, and secondly, to look at 51, like at 35 - there was clearly a time machine here! Yes, it's not a typo. This year, Litvinova exchanged her sixth decade.

Biography of Renata Litvinova

Renata Litvinova was born in 1967 in a family of Moscow doctors. Father left the family when Renate was only a year old. So she remembers her childhood by no means as the happiest. Mom always disappeared at work (Renata's mother is a jaw surgeon), so from an early age she had to become independent.

Like most children from intelligent Soviet families, Renata went to music school and went in for sports - athletics. As she herself later recalled in an interview with Vladimir Pozner: “In fact, I didn’t have any outstanding abilities in sports, I ran badly, but I smiled a lot. The coach kept me only because I “run positively” :-)”.

Renata quickly grew up and already in her teens was almost a head taller than her classmates, for which she received the “affectionate” nickname “Ostankino Tower”. But not only high growth distinguished her from her peers. From a young age, Renata had her own view of the world around her, which she did not hesitate to share with her classmates. But, alas, both children and even teachers considered the girl at least strange.

So books became the best friends of young Renata. At home, the Litvinovs, like all exemplary Soviet citizens, had a large library, where she spent all her free time reading Russian classics.

After graduating from school, Renata from the first time entered the VGIK at the screenwriting department. According to herself, she chose the institute by distance from home, and at that time their apartment was on Babushkinskaya. There was only one stop to go by bus to VGIK. So the choice was obvious :-)

The fact that Renata was not mistaken with her choice became clear already in the first year. Here at VGIK, no one paid attention to the “unearthly” Renata, because for one “strange” student there were a dozen more of the same. Finally, Litvinova got into her environment - creative people with open views.

The scripts that Litvinova wrote in her first years were rather peculiar. Some teachers even accused her of being unable to express thoughts in Russian. The work had to be rewritten several times. Of course, not everyone thought so. For example, screenwriter Vladimir Solovyov noted that "Litvinova's prose is very peculiar due to her bright personality and unforgettable manners, and the level of skill already in her early years was outstanding."

In 1989, Renata made her film debut as an actress for the first time. It was a small episodic role. But even then they noticed her manner of languidly drawing out words and gesticulating a lot. That year, Litvinova made an indelible impression on the cinema crowd, without having had much time to do anything outstanding. She was so unusual for that time that she instantly became a fashionable character among her colleagues in the shop.

In the early 90s, Renata met director Kira Muratova. A few years ago, Kira Georgievna already read Litvinova's thesis, which she really liked and even inspired to make a movie based on her script. There was no question of who would play the lead role. Of course, it must be Renata. But Litvinova politely declined the role. She never considered her face photogenic and never saw acting talents in herself, being sure that her vocation was to write.

A couple of years later, fate again brought women together at the film festival. They got to know each other better. Renata was no longer able to refuse Muratova. This is how we met the nurse "with regards" from the film "Hobbies", which was released in 1994. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it :-)

Later, Renata was still filming with Muratova. And in general, she began to try herself more as an actress with other directors. The films “The Right to Choose”, “Country of the Deaf” were released.

By the end of the 90s, Litvinova had already taken her strong position in the history of cinema, having won quite a tangible recognition for herself.

But in the mid-90s, Renata Litvinova was known not only as an aspiring screenwriter and actress. Belonging to the Moscow bohemia is another social role of Litvinova. In the party, Renata was already known as a fashionista. For a while, she even worked as a model. So in 1996, she posed for a picture that the artist Andrey Bartenev came up with.

The photo is now part of Misha Buster's collection for the Soviethooligans project. This is an almanac about fashion, subcultures of the 80s and 90s, and also about how Russian bohemia has changed in these years.

The image of Renata Litvinova

But the iconic image of Renata Litvinova began to take shape at the beginning of the 2000s. In 2000, the film “Border. Taiga novel. The role of Albina Voron with her "Girls, I'm flying, I'm in paradise" made Litvinova famous throughout Russia and the CIS countries. And the first interview with the star only confirmed that in life Renata is exactly the same as her heroine.

By the mid-2000s, Renata Litvinova was already fully shaping her image. She is at the peak of her career, she is in her early 30s. While Russia is conquering the era of glamour, tanning, sequins and bouffant, Litvinova bleaches her face, puts her hair in a neat pre-war hairstyle and changes into all black.

Renata Litvinova becomes the "goddess of style" - that's what her fans call her. While she herself (according to her own statements) never understood fashion. According to Renata, she was taught to dress by films and ... workers. Since childhood, it seemed to her that the most stylish clothes are uniforms. After all, only such clothes are capable of NOT hiding a person's personality behind their shell.

In the same year, Alla Pugacheva invited Renata Litvinova to star in her video "River Tram". Here you can observe the reference image of Renata of those years. White hair, midi, heels, red lipstick, arrows, a string of beads, eyebrows, by the way, also a thread :-) Such an attractive and such a mysterious woman from the past, living at the turn of the millennium.

2004 becomes a landmark for Renata. On the set of the film "Goddess: How I Loved" she met Zemfira, who wrote the music for the film.

Acquaintance develops into a strong friendship and entails a sea of rumors. Both Litvinova and Zemfira are at the pinnacle of fame, which implies especially the attention of the yellow press. Women are more often photographed together, suspecting that something more lies behind the friendship.

A year after meeting Z, Renata divorces her husband.

In fact, what kind of relationship between these two most talented women is not at all interesting to me. And is it really that important?

Renata Litvinova and Zemfira as a creative union are a hundred times more interesting. What is the documentary film "Green Theater in Zemfira", released in 2008.

And Zemfira’s videos “We are breaking up” and “Live in your head”, which Renata directed and starred in them herself ... Yes, they give me goosebumps! Although the scripts are very ambiguous :-)

What is important: despite her close friendship with the rebel Zemfira, Renata does not change her style, surrounding her image with the flair of a woman of the early 20th century. Renata Litvinova and "style icon" are already two concepts that cannot be separated from each other.

In support of the above, in 2014 Zarina invites Renata to work with the brand as a designer. Litvinova's author's collection, dedicated to clothes in the style of the 50s, appears in stores throughout Russia.

And a year later, Renata Litvinova takes the role of creative director of Numero magazine. To the role of screenwriter, director and actress, another official role is added - a stylish unit, whose opinion they want to listen to.

Year after year, Renata remains true to her vintage image, only refining it. And in 2016, together with her daughter, she became the face of the Vintage Voyage brand lookbook, once again proving that real vintage is not only the costumes of the heroines of the Downton Abbey series. Modern vintage can look unrealistically organic. And on Renata - especially.

Last year, Renata Litvinova made her debut as a theater director. She staged her play "The North Wind" herself at the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov based on the play, which she herself wrote. Of course, Zemfira was responsible for the music in the production, and Gosha Rubchinsky, the idol of the millennials, was responsible for the costumes.

The laconic outfits that Renata and Georgy designed for the performance perfectly reflect both the style of Litvinova herself and her views on clothing. Black and brown fabrics, minimalism - according to Rubchinsky, he tried to choose clothes for the stage that would not distract the attention of the audience from the acting. And he really succeeded!

2017, in principle, was a turning point for Renata's style. The first time we saw the new Litvinova in the summer of 2017 was on the cover of L'officiel. The magazine prepared a long interview with the icon, the text of which was written by Ksenia Sobchak herself, and fashion editor Rita Zubatova created a new image of a woman from the 70s in Vetements boots, and even (oh, Gods!) With dark hair!

But the October issue of SNC finally discouraged everyone, where 50-year-old Renata Litvinova appeared in a hoodie, without makeup, hair, mouthpiece and pearls.

The title of the issue read "Renata Litvinova is changing her image abruptly." And indeed it is. The iconic vintage was replaced by “clothes from the street”. An important role here was played by Renata's close friend - Gosha Rubchinsky, and a new friend - Demna Gvasalia. It's no secret that the fashion of the last two years has changed its direction a lot, becoming a little bit marginal and dressing from haute couture in a tracksuit and total oversize.

In an interview with SNC, Renata said that all her life stylists and makeup artists considered her “unfashionable”: still, the domestic Marlene Dietrich in the era of Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum in shiny shorts.

But only in 2017-2018, Renata Litvinova made some stunning fashion leap. From a style icon of the 2000s, she turned into an idol of today's youth. If you now simultaneously look at the photo of Renata five years ago and now, then this will become visible to the naked eye.

Still, no matter what they say about the changes in her style, she still retained the main thing in it - herself. And you can’t hide such charisma behind any Balenciagas. As Renata herself writes: “I was lucky that I met him - Demna, I have been waiting for him for so long ...”. If you subscribe to Renata Litvinova's Instagram right now, you will see a lot of images there in loose or even sportswear, which she puts on with the light hand of Rubchinsky. The rest of the photos are almost homemade lookbook of Balenciaga fashion house.

And it is no coincidence. Renata is the muse of Demna Gvasalia. In Russia, it was she who first tried on his new Balenciaga Resort 2018 collection before going on sale. The fitting process was captured and turned into a lookbook. It seems that no one else could show the collection better than her - a woman from the past and from the future at the same time, a little strange for the layman, and incredibly attractive for the intellectual, like all the clothes that Demna sews.

Trying on the style of Renata Litvinova

As you know, at the end of each article I "try on" the style of the heroine, for myself. But not with the aim of copying, but with the aim of adapting it to your wardrobe and character.

Rubchinsky and Vetements are interesting, but not about me at all. And I decided to experiment with retro, with which many people associate Renata's style. Although, to be honest, this is also something new for my wardrobe. I have never been fond of retro, stepping into its territory only once and for half a step, when I made icons about style.

It was a new and interesting experience :-) Change is very cool! Be sure to do something new and unusual, including for your style and wardrobe!

To be continued!

Today, when unisex and oversize reign in fashion, such examples of elegance and sophistication are so lacking! The images of Renata Litvinova more than pay off our longing for the elusive femininity. So what are the main secrets of the style of this mystery woman? Read our article!

Unusual headwear.

We are sure that most people, answering the question of what they associate Renata Litvinova's style with, would no doubt answer - hats! The collection of the actress presents a wide variety of models both for every day and for going out. On the red carpet, she most often prefers the creations of Philip Tracy or his Russian colleague Konstantin Gaidai. Hats with a veil emphasize her snow-white skin, swan neck, as well as the fragility and defenselessness of the image as a whole. Classic patties that were especially popular in the 1930s, our woman of mystery is sure to be complemented by a Hollywood-style hairdo. In early spring or autumn, she hides her blond curls under silk scarves (most often from Hermes), tied in the "grandmother's" manner, and in cold winter - under fur hats.

Stylish coats

Inspired by the images of such actresses of the past as Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich, Renata Litvinova made an invariable part of her coat style. It would seem that this is so special? Each of us in the wardrobe has at least a couple of copies of such outerwear. But! Litvinova's coats are always special. Most often, these are models just above the knee length with a fur collar. The color scheme varies within gray-black-brown shades. Where a great variety differ textures. Here Renata got out of the car in a coat of thin wool, and here she, dressed in an astrakhan coat, modestly lowered her eyes. Of course, not without traditional trench coats. However, Renata wears them not only in classic beige and marsh, but also made to order from non-standard materials - for example, crocodile skin. Yes, the actress cannot be called a supporter of PETA.

Large jewelry

Renata Litvinova gives great importance to large jewelry. Voluminous necklaces and massive rings (some were found by the actress in vintage shops in Paris) perfectly complement the star's outfits. As if in magical talismans or amulets, she draws inspiration from them to create her incredible images. Well, so that the look does not look overloaded, she combines massive jewelry exclusively with things in black or white.

Little black dress

“When a woman dresses gaudily, she seems to be hiding behind a dress. And it should be a frame that sets off her face and figure, ”says the actress.

Renata can often be seen wearing a little black dress. Choosing such a minimalist piece of clothing, she focuses on the cut and textures. In her collection there are both classic models, just below the knee length, and specimens with voluminous sleeves or made of the finest leather. Another declaration of the actress's love for the great invention of no less great Mademoiselle Chanel was Litvinova's capsule collection for the Zarina brand, consisting of five models of a little black dress.

pearl strands

“Pearls are always right,” said the legendary Coco Chanel. Our heroine agrees with her. Pearl threads have become an integral part of the image of Renata Litvinova and always accompany the actress at social events. Following the precepts of the great Mademoiselle, Litvinova wears them with sheath dresses and tweed suits.

Fancy outfits

Like any real star, Renata Litvinova knows how to surprise with a choice of outfits. Despite her love of classic retro looks, she has taken to the red carpet more than once in something very unusual. Recall at least her appearance at the Moscow International Film Festival in 2010 in a black and white dress from Vika Gazinskaya. Apparently, the designer found inspiration in the works of Elsa Schiaparelli. Or the famous Maison Martin Margiela fur jacket, which the actress chose for the GQ ceremony in 2009. Then the courage of the famous fashionista, who preferred such a shocking item, was appreciated even by Western fashion experts.

Sunglasses with unusual shapes

Sunglasses are an invariable attribute of any star. But here Renata Litvinova was able to excel. The choice of an actress is a model of unusual forms. Classic clubmaster or graceful cat-eye, round or square, and even in tweed (Chanel, of course). Without such an accessory, it is already impossible for Litvinov to imagine today.

We once again congratulate the magnificent actress and talented director Renata Litvinova on her birthday and wish her not to lose her unique style!
