How to make an owl with your own hands (photo): unusual ideas. Master class on making an owl from fabric, cardboard or paper.

Today, in any store in the country you can buy absolutely everything your heart desires.

But not a single purchased item retains the warmth of the hands of the master who made it.

And, of course, special warmth is stored in a toy made by yourself.

Today's master class invites you to create a magnificent and unique craft - an owl.

Making an owl with your own hands is very simple.

You can sew such a toy for a child and put it in a crib, hang an ensemble of several owls from the ceiling above this crib, or place it in the kitchen as an interior decoration. You can make an owl with your own hands in any style: realistic, like in nature, fairy-tale, funny, knitted, wooden, fragrant with a filling of herbs, cardboard, stone or even plastic bottles.

Textile owls (made of fabric)

The easiest way to make owlets is from fabric. The fabric is publicly available, so making owls with your own hands will not be difficult. To complete this task you will need a pattern, fabric and simple sewing skills. The fabric chosen is thick, cotton based, not very stretchy. It is recommended to use textiles with interesting and funny patterns, not just plain ones. Future owlets are 40/40 cm in size. Additional consumables: a piece of felt and leather (black), padding polyester, secret zipper, fabric glue, pattern paper, pencil, scissors.

Manufacturing technique:

Paper is placed on the table and the shape of an owlet is drawn in free form, as in the picture. The form is free and very simple;

The finished pattern is cut to shape and placed on the fabric, the first part is cut out. It must be cut taking into account allowances (1 - 2 cm). When the first part (front) is cut out, the second part (back) is cut;

Next, cut out the eyes and nose from felt. They are sewn to the “front piece” immediately. The sewing machine is set up for embroidery: the fabric feed through the upper conveyor is turned off, the sewing mode is changed to embroidery mode. A zigzag stitch is used;

Eyelashes are carefully cut out and glued on by hand. They are made of black leather;

Both parts - front and back - are sewn together from the bottom using a hidden zipper. The wrong side of the fabric is taken into account. First, the lower edges are folded 1 cm and processed with an overlock stitch. After which one side of the zipper is sewn, and then the other;

Both parts are sewn along the edge from the wrong side into one piece. The owl you made yourself can now be turned right side out;

Paws are being made. They are drawn in free form on paper, and then cut on fabric, taking into account allowances (0.5-1 cm).

The paws are sewn together with a simple seam from the wrong side. At this stage, you can glue the interlining if you need to add rigidity, and if the legs will not be filled with padding polyester in the future. The bottom edge of the parts is left unstitched for later turning right side out. After which the parts can be turned out and sewn to the owl’s body, as shown in the figure. If desired, they are stuffed with padding polyester, which gives additional volume. Next, the legs are turned down and the seam is laid again;

The second owlet is made exactly according to the above scheme, but with its eyes wide open. The breast is made of felt. A leather bow is sewn on;

Both owlets are filled with padding polyester. All your handmade owls are ready!

Owls made of cardboard

A unique toy can be made from corrugated cardboard. You can also decorate your home interior with it. It will turn out very stylish!

Manufacturing technique:

Regular corrugated cardboard is used, from which simple boxes are made. Take a sheet of cardboard and remove (“tear off”) the top smooth layer;

Strips are cut out (across the corrugated lines) for the body and, during the twisting process, the layers are smeared with glue;

To make an owl with your own hands, two large eyes are made using the same pattern. Buttons are inserted into the pupils using glue;

On a flat piece of cardboard, draw a shape for the wings, tail and wide eyebrows with a pencil. Then the resulting “patterns” are cut out and glued one by one to the owl figurine;

A beak is carved out of any wooden stick, or any stick that resembles a bird’s beak in shape is simply selected. The beak is inserted into the appropriate place and glued;

A second owl figurine is made in pair;

Now it’s the turn of the homemade swing. To assemble them you will need simple steel wire and a thick jute thread. The thread is wrapped around the wire in several layers. After which it can be bent into the shape of a swing for owls;

Finally, the owl figurines can be placed in their permanent place of residence.

Owls using origami technique

You can make an owl with your own hands from ordinary office paper. It would be better if it was colored.

Making such a composition is also simple. If you look closely, it is multi-level. The main thing is to choose the right color scheme. First of all, the shape of the tree is cut out. A simple round tree crown shape is glued to it behind it. Owls are cut out of paper. You can use anything as eyes: buttons, rhinestones, felt. The resulting birds are glued to the overall composition. Next, you can cut out flowers, leaves, a crow and a birdhouse with an owlet inside. The resulting origami needs to be placed on a base with glue to give it a vertical position. You can also glue it to a postcard and make it a gift. This will be a great gift - owls made by yourself!

Examples of various techniques

Original owls made of polymer clay. Skills in working with polymer and modeling experience are required.

Amazing owlets made using the technique of overlaying a design on an ordinary river stone. A simple “fabric paint” is used. The drawing is applied with an artistic brush. Drawing skills are required, since the drawing is done quickly due to the quick-drying properties of the paint, which, moreover, is not washed off.

Knitted owl. The technique is complex. Knitting skills and detailed knotting pattern required.

Autumn simultaneously pleases us with bright colors and makes us sad when it rains. But it is absolutely certain that it is impossible to remain indifferent when you see how many gifts Autumn brings us. These include fruits, vegetables, and all kinds of seeds. This time our sons and I were inspired to create a craft maple parachutes.

Maple has unusually bright, beautiful leaves in the fall, but it also has interesting fruits. They look like pinwheels, flower petals, and bird feathers. We decided to focus on the birds this time, making owl.

Materials:

  • maple fruits,
  • ash fruits,
  • newspapers,
  • threads,
  • skewer,
  • non-woven material,
  • threads for paws or wool for felting,
  • universal glue,
  • wire for frame,
  • base with a branch.

Progress:
Roll a ball and an oval out of an old newspaper and secure them with thread. In order to connect them, it is most convenient to use a skewer, onto which, using glue, attach the body and head.

Measure the wire for the wings. The length should be such that it is enough for two wings and the width of the body. Insert the wire through the body. Cut out the base for the wing from non-woven material.

Fold the material and secure with a stapler.

You should start pasting the wing at the edges, moving gradually towards the middle. Here the work can already be done with the child. It will cope quite well with gluing feathers.

Cover the wings on both sides. It is important to let the first side dry thoroughly before you start covering the back side. Make the second wing in the same way.
For the tail, prepare 4 wires, staple triangles of non-woven material onto them with a stapler.

Cover blanks for the tail with maple fruits from bottom to top on both sides.

Glue the tail to the body by making a hole in the newspaper with an awl and inserting a wire coated with glue.
For the paws, prepare wire and wool (threads). Bend the wire as shown in the photo. Wrap them with thread or wool and glue them to the body.

For convenience, turn the owl upside down and continue pasting the body from the back.

Gradually tape the entire owl. The main thing is not to rush and let each side dry thoroughly. Cover the bird's head in the same way.

Make a nose from a walnut shell, you can tint it with paint. Make eyes in a circle from ash seeds, and you can glue anything into the middle: halves of peppercorns, beans, and any large seeds. In our case, these are the seeds of honey locust. Glue eyebrows above the eyes. If you wish, you can twist glasses out of wire, but we didn’t want to.

Attach the finished owl to a branch pre-glued to a plywood base.

Marina Ilyina

Good evening, dear guests of my page!

Summer is over and our teachers' workdays have begun.

I came across this problem: for a competition in kindergarten I had to make an owl out of natural material. I didn’t want to make a flat craft, so I thought of a three-dimensional one. I looked all over the Internet and found owls that I liked. But I couldn’t find step-by-step photos on how to make them.

Today in my publication I want to introduce master-class of making an owl from sunflower seeds, bean seeds and pumpkin seeds. I thought for a long time about what to make a frame for the owl from. I went through a lot, including newspaper and foil with wire. But she settled on a glass of sour cream. I was afraid that the glue gun might burn through the jar, but everything worked out. I molded the ears on top from plasticine and rounded the head a little.

My daughter Nastya is a creative child and therefore always helps me. Next, I cut out eyes from yellow corn cobs. And the pupils are made from corn and are burgundy in color.

The nose was made from pistachios. Breast of pumpkin seeds. Admire the owls we made.

I hope someone finds my idea useful.

Thank you for your attention!

Master class "Owl - owl". (Natural material) Description: I present work that may be of interest to educators and teachers.

This year the Defender of the Fatherland holiday was surprisingly long. There are still three whole days free - this is a good time to pay attention.

Persimmon is the fruit of a tree belonging to the ebony family. The persimmon fruit is large in size, juicy, has a sweet taste, and its skin is bright.

Autumn has a beautiful smile, She has the kindest face of a woman, And in her, embroidered with gold, Happiness sparkles - joyfully, lightly. The leaves lie like silk.

Master class mosaic made from natural material “Castle” Master class on the topic: Collective mosaic made of wooden beads “Castle” Prepared by:.

The golden time of autumn will begin soon! And who doesn’t like to walk through the park with their children and grandchildren in early autumn, when colorful flowers rustle underfoot?

Nature is the mother of man. She created him, and she influences his entire life in the most direct way. From birth, children are surrounded.

For those who like to make crafts, we can offer the current idea of making an owl from scrap materials. Such a thing can decorate any interior, and for elementary school children it will be a good craft for a labor lesson.

Materials and manufacturing techniques

Every child should know what an owl can be made from. We will list some materials, but with enough imagination this list can be expanded:

  • Natural materials;
  • 2D owl made from leaves;
  • Fabric and felt;
  • Paper and cardboard applications;
  • Tile and buttons.

Owl made of wooden parts

A beautiful owl craft can be obtained by using cuts of thin and large branches. With the help of a saw and the required amount of firewood, you can make many cuts. A thin cut of a large log is used for the base, and small cuts of twigs are used as feathers.

Larger wood cuts are made for the eyes and wings. Another element of the wings can be cones or bark. The workpieces are cut to the required size using scissors.

Don't be discouraged if you don't have large cuts. You can use smaller sections, and then you may end up with a small owl. A little more of these products can be produced.

You can draw plumage on a piece of wood using felt-tip pens or iodine. And glue buttons as eyes. A burning device and plasticine from which the paws are made will also be useful.

A tall tree trunk is suitable for the body, and a wooden cut is used for the head. Large eyes from saw cuts and a small bump for the nose will do. The ears are made from thin branches (twigs). Small feathers are also glued to them.

Bark craft

Let's look at how to make a simple owl for children. In this case, a large piece of bark will do. It is processed so that the workpiece acquires an oval shape. If possible, make two ear contours pointed on the top of the head.

The caps of acorns will look original as eyes. Large cuts of twigs, buttons, and large dried apples are also suitable. The wings are cut out in the form of a sheet of fabric or cardboard. Autumn leaves are better.

Owl in the form of a wreath

An owl made in the form of a large wreath makes a good autumn composition. In the creative process, not only natural materials will be used, but also parts of cardboard.

Making an owl with your own hands at home will begin with cutting out an oval ring of thick cardboard. For the craft, it will be the base on which you need to apply glue. Next, having collected the material at hand, you should glue it to the cut out oval.

Chips, small twigs, pieces of bark can be used. The eyes can be made from circles of multi-colored cardboard; it is advisable to use bright colors. Paws, wings and beak are also made from it.

For the eyes, circles cut from fabric in the shape of flowers are suitable. And make the wings from autumn oak leaves. If there are no suitable leaves at hand, they are cut out of cardboard or fabric.

Dry grass, leaves, and even flowers can be used. An oval cardboard circle can be made without a slot inside. Then seal the center with any available material. This craft for school will be a good decoration for an exhibition.

Owl from a pine cone

The variety of pine cones inspires you to create crafts. Let's look at a master class on how to make an owl craft from a pine cone. The larger it is, the better. Ideally, take cedar, but it is extremely rare. Therefore, let's take a large spruce and pine cone.

Glue or plasticine is suitable as a fastening material. Since the fir cone is longer, it will become the body, and the pine cone will be glued for the head.

The two elements are fastened together at an angle. Dry bean pods will become paws; they are fixed with glue or plasticine. To make the wings you need to make side slits with a knife in the spruce body. Pull out a few scales and place a small bunch of thin twigs in this place. This element is attached with glue.

We will make eyes from a small bundle of hay. It is bandaged in the middle and fluffed on one side. The result should be an even fluffy circle. You can also use fine straw, dry corn silk, or barley hairs for the eyes. The finished elements are glued together, and buttons are fixed in their center.

For the eyes, slits are made in the bump. They are inserted along with several thin branches to serve as eyelashes, and glued. The same is done for the paws, but they are made only from dry branches. The composition is ready, in the photo of the owl craft it turned out to be a very attractive product.

Craft for children

Homemade pine cones have varying design complexity, but the process is fascinating, so even children will find it interesting. There are crafts for them that are a little easier to make. For example, only one cone is used as the body and head.

The eyes are made from cardboard and the beak is made from dried orange peel. It can be glued to the wings. The owl's ears are made of leaves, and a piece of moss is placed on its head. The product is almost ready, all that remains is to plant it in a clearing of moss. The little owlet is ready!

It’s impossible to find detailed instructions on how to make an owl. The creative process is always unique, and there are many types of crafts. You need to have good imagination and creative qualities, and then you will be able to make a variety of products.
