Women's T-shirt with their own hands. We sew tops and T-shirts - quickly and easily !!!! First, you need measurements from the figure, I put my measurements for an example

Every girl wants to be beautiful, and it's hard to blame her for that. But what to do when finances sing romances, but you still need to update your wardrobe? And here you should remember, and if you don’t remember, then learn how to cut and sew. For what? Well, of course, because in every closet there are t-shirts or a dress lying around. Therefore, you might think about how to sew a T-shirt from clothes that are already unnecessary.

Or just use a ready-made pattern on the Internet and create a simple product with its help. In fact, there is nothing complicated about this. Of course, you can’t do a completely artsy little thing the first time, but it’s quite possible to sew an elementary T-shirt from chiffon or knitwear.

Option number 1 of a T-shirt

Before sewing a T-shirt, for example, from knitwear, you should prepare all the tools and consumables.

For this work you will need:

  • paper to help line up the pattern;
  • an old T-shirt from which you can take measurements;
  • textile;
  • sewing equipment - threads, scissors and a sewing machine.

The whole creation process looks like this:

  1. First of all, a pattern is prepared. To do this, the old T-shirt is folded vertically in half, after which paper is laid on top. It is necessary to draw the contours of the product on it. It should be noted right away that for lovers of a deep neckline, two patterns should be prepared, as they will designate the front and back separately;
  2. With the help of pins, the sketch is fixed on the fabric. If you have never encountered sewing before, then it is better to sew from knitwear, it is not as capricious as chiffon. But with a determined attitude to sew it from such a fabric, you can initially make a trial version for the doll. Firstly, it will be an additional training, and secondly, it will allow you to decide on the model and make additions in the future;
  3. According to the patterns, the contour is transferred to the fabric, but taking into account future seams. Further, two blanks are fastened together with pins or pins on the shoulders and sides. After that, the stitching is done. Before sewing a T-shirt from knitwear or other fabric, you should choose the right thread for the sewing machine. For example, if you choose coarse for chiffon, then the seam will constantly shrink or the needle will not stitch at all. Therefore, such a moment should be taken into account;
  4. For a chiffon T-shirt, you will need an additional ribbon. The fact is that such a thin fabric can be strongly tucked up, so it must be turned around from the inside, first with a pin, and then fixed with a typewriter;
  5. The last moment is the overcasting of the neck and openings. First, the edges are bent, and then they are built up.

The edges of the shirt can be ironed along the seam to make the product look neater. Well, now you can dress it up and go out.

Using an old t-shirt

An excellent T-shirt can also be sewn from a T-shirt. In this case, the jersey or chiffon fabric is replaced with an old T-shirt. By the way, this option is much easier than doing patterns, since a completely finished product will lie in front of your face.

So:

  1. Before you sew a new T-shirt from an old T-shirt, you need to find it. It is best to choose a base that has a slightly larger size, and men's t-shirts are the best option. But if this is a women's thing, then it is better when it is made of knitwear, since in this model you need to pull it together a little;
  2. First, the collar is cut parallel to the seam, then a similar procedure is carried out with the sleeves. Then, a neckline is created, for which a contour is made on the front with a marker. This line will allow you to make a cut more evenly. It is very convenient to first make a contour only on one half, and then fold the T-shirt in half and cut it out. So the probability of a symmetrical notch will be greater;
  3. Next comes the work on the straps. They will serve as the area of the T-shirt, which remained at the sleeves. Rectangles are formed from them, after which they are stretched and tied in a knot so that their ends are located on the inside of the T-shirt. The rest are cut off.

The convenience of homemade T-shirts is that they can even be sewn under a dress. In this case, you only need to sew the bottom of the skirt. It will be very romantic and easy to look up from the jersey on the dress, and the bottom from chiffon. The main thing is not to forget to sew a lining under it, otherwise all outsiders will be able to appreciate the underwear.

Option number 2

You can arrange old T-shirts in the Basque version. By the way, today this style is considered very popular and fashionable, and it will not be difficult to create such a T-shirt.

If you want to get a thing with a bow, you will need:

  • an old unnecessary jersey T-shirt;
  • a piece of fabric (preferably chiffon): width 10 cm, length - 1.5 m;
  • scissors, thread and sewing machine.

The work is done as follows:

  1. First, a bow is created, for which a piece of fabric is folded along and stitched, but not completely, so that it is possible to turn the ribbon inside out. After the eversion, the end is stitched obliquely so that the seams look neater;
  2. Next, the sleeves are removed from the T-shirt and lines are drawn that will connect the lowest points of the shoulder seam. Cuts are also made along it;
  3. After that, the seams are overcast;
  4. Now on the neck it is bent up to 5 cm, the edges are sewn. To make the shirt look neater, it is recommended to iron it;
  5. The last moment is threading the ribbon and tying a bow.

And in such a simple way, you can create a very stylish T-shirt. By the way, this option is perfect as a top for a summer dress or skirt. Or you can think about how to sew a one-piece tank top dress.

Dress up daughter dolls

What can bring a daughter and mother together? Of course, a joint activity! And what could be better than joint tailoring for a doll? The most interesting thing is that there is no need for special skills in sewing, the main thing is desire and a little imagination. For such work, you can rummage through your wardrobe and find a bunch of unnecessary old clothes that will now serve with benefit. Before you sew a T-shirt or dress for a doll, you should think about what you have to work with. In addition to old T-shirts, trousers, jeans and other paraphernalia of a women's wardrobe, you can pay attention to socks.

This is the easiest option:

  • a sock is applied to the doll and the required length is measured under the dress or T-shirt, cut off;
  • further, from the “upper” side, holes for the arms are measured and cut out;
  • to make the thing look more neat, the upper part can be decorated with lace, satin ribbon or embroidered with a bead.

For more complex models, you will need to prepare patterns. The same is done if the size of the doll is larger than that of Barbie.

Hello. Everyone can sew a knitted T-shirt with their own hands without a pattern. It's simple.

If you have a T-shirt that you can trace around and make a pattern for another, great! If not, then take measurements from the figure.

Before you start drawing a T-shirt, get ready

Firstly, we need measurements from the figure, I put my measurements for an example:

  • Neck girth, mine 37cm;
  • Bust, 92 cm;
  • Hips, 98 cm;
  • Armhole height (from the top of the shoulder to the armpit), 18 cm;
  • T-shirt length, 56 cm;

Secondly, I find out the degree of stretching of knitwear

Different knitwear has different elasticity. One does not stretch much, the other freely stretches twice.

I chose cotton lace with lycra. It stretches by about 130 - 150%, i.e. 10 cm in a calm state can be stretched up to 15 cm and at the same time knitwear will look normal. With this stretch, I took a negative increase of 20%.

Thirdly, I prepare the fabric for cutting

You can wash the cut in the usual cycle of the washing machine, or you can simply steam it with an iron.

Drawing and cutting

Tank top length equal to Length by measure (56 cm), plus 3 cm for hem and plus 3 for stretching. When the shirt stretches on the body, it will understandably become shorter. And in general, it is better to cut off than to sew on ...

Top Width: Bust / 4 - 20% negative increase = 92/4 * 0.8 = 18.4 cm, I take 19 cm.

Bottom width. If the T-shirt reaches the hips, then it is better not to make a negative increase along the hips. Otherwise, when moving, the T-shirt will constantly ride up at the waist.

The pattern will look something like this, sorry for the clumsy line

My T-shirt ends just below the waist, so it has the same width at the bottom as at the top. Whether a bend is needed, I'll find out at the fitting.

I find the end of the neck - the beginning of the shoulder seam.

I put it to the right of the top Neck girth / 5 - 20% increase + 2-3 cm (more if desired). 37/5*0.8+3=8.92 cm, I take 9 cm.

Shoulder line and armhole height as shown. Only I did not add 2 cm to the Height of the armhole. The shoulder bevel is guided by your shoulder line. My shoulders and back are straight, so I take 1.5 cm. If there is a stoop or sloping shoulders, take 3-4 cm.

I take the width of the strap 6 cm. I draw the line of the armhole. I start and end at right angles.

If you do not want to show the junction of the arm and body, make the armhole narrower, the shoulder wider. Then, when you try it on, you can correct it.

Back neck

Shelf neck

These are the distances I got.

I cut out the detail. I will process the neck and armhole with piping and there is no increase there. On the shoulder and side seam, I have an increase of 7 mm (under the overlock line). Below 3 cm on the hem, I laid immediately.

On the cut out part I cut out the second.

Sewing

I prepare the piping and start sewing.

Similarly, I process the cuts of the armholes. I join the side seams.

To sew a T-shirt, the following materials are needed: main fabric, ribbed for processing the neck and bottom of the sleeves, scissors, chalk.

Before cutting, the fabric must be washed and ironed to prevent further shrinkage. Cotton fabrics (cooler, interlock), thin knitwear are suitable for sewing T-shirts.

Progress:

1. We fold the fabric with the right side inward, place the pattern details to the fold, circle with chalk, you can use a bar of soap instead of chalk.

If a striped fabric is chosen, the pattern must be positioned so that the strip is aligned on the front and back.

2. We cut out the details, adding allowances for processing along the side cuts of 1 cm, along the shoulder and lower cuts of 2.5 cm

3. Fold the front sides inside the back and shelf, grind the side cuts at a distance of 1 cm

4. We grind the shoulder sections at a distance of 2.5 cm

5. Overcast the side and shoulder sections from the side of the shelf

6. Iron the side and shoulder seams on the back

7. We grind and overcast the sections of the sleeve

8. We put the sleeve into the main part of the T-shirt with the front sides inward, combining the side seams

9. We sew the sleeve, laying the line at a distance of 1 cm from the side of the sleeve

10. We overcast the cuts of the armhole

11. For processing the neck and bottom of the sleeves of T-shirts, ribana is used. Ribana is a very elastic stretchable material, so the ribbed strips should be a few cm smaller than the cuts of the neck and sleeves. Width of strips 6cm (finished - 2.5cm)

12. Fold the strips with the front side inward and grind the cross sections

13. Add the resulting rings along

14. We combine the cuts of the neck and the stripes, placing the seam of the stitching of the ends of the rib on the back of the T-shirt next to the shoulder seam. We grind the facing, laying a line to the width of the foot, evenly pulling the rib

15. In the same way, we process the bottom of the sleeves, combining the seams on the facing and the sleeve

16. Overcast the cuts from the side of the rib

17. To process the bottom of the T-shirt, we bend the bottom cut inward by 0.5 cm, then we bend it again by 2 cm. We sew at a distance of 1-2 mm from the fold, you can first sweep

18. Making a patch pocket. For a patch pocket, choose a fabric that matches the color of the ribbed, or a companion fabric to the main fabric, then the T-shirt will look more fun. We cut out a pocket 18 * 14cm, as well as a strip of the main fabric for decoration 18 * 5cm

We impose a strip in the middle of the pocket detail on the front side. We bend the longitudinal sections of the strip inward by 0.5-0.7 cm and stitch at a distance of 1-2 mm from the edge

We tuck the upper cut of the pocket by 0.5 cm, then by 2 cm and sew close to the fold

We put the pocket on the shelf and bast, bending the pocket edges inward by 0.5 cm

We sew a pocket at a distance of 1-2 mm from the fold, remove the basting threads

We install a shirt button on the pocket using a press

19. Iron all seams, remove excess threads.

In the summer you can not do without an open jersey T-shirt. The pattern of a women's T-shirt is built according to your measurements very simply. When constructing a pattern for a women's T-shirt, it should be noted that the knitted fabric stretches by about 15-20% of its original size.

Therefore, when constructing a T-shirt pattern, it is necessary to subtract 15% of the measured value from the value of the half-girth of the chest.

Before you start building a pattern for a women's T-shirt, you need to take the following measurements:

Bust- 92 cm (half circumference of the chest - 46 cm)

Back length to waist- 38 cm

Armhole depth to measure– 21-22 cm

hip height(measured from the waist line to the hip line on the side) - 20 cm

From point A down, set aside the length of the back to the waist according to the measure - point T.

From point T down, set aside the height of the hips according to the measure - point B.

Draw horizontal lines. Drop a perpendicular down from point B.

T-shirt neckline. Set aside 7 cm from point A to the right and 15 cm down. Draw a neckline for the front of the T-shirt using the pattern.

Shirt shoulder width. From the point of the neckline to the right, set aside 3 cm - the width of the shoulder of the T-shirt. Up from the left point of the shoulder, set aside 1.5 cm - lifting the shoulder.

Draw an armhole cutout according to the pattern as shown in Fig. 1.

Set aside 2.5 cm from point T1 to the left. Draw a line on the side of the shirt as shown in Fig. 1 Pattern for the front of the T-shirt.

Building a pattern for the back of a T-shirt

The pattern of the back of the T-shirt is built similarly to the pattern of the front of the T-shirt, with the exception of the neckline of the back - from deeper. For a detailed drawing of the pattern for the back of the T-shirt, see fig. 2 T-shirt back pattern.

How to cut a shirt

Front pattern - 1 piece with a fold

Back pattern - 1 piece with a fold

Allowances for the seams of the T-shirt - 0.5 cm, allowances for the neck and armholes do not (!), allowances for the bottom of the T-shirt - 2 cm.

You will need: slanting ready-made knitted trim for processing the armholes and the neck of the T-shirt and a double needle for hemming the bottom of the T-shirt.

How to sew a T-shirt

Put together face to face and overlock or zigzag stitch (stitch width 4 mm, stitch length 2 mm) the side seams of the shirt and the shoulder seams of the shirt.

Tuck the bottom of the shirt and sew with a double needle.

Bend the slanting finished knitted inlay in half, wrap it around the neckline of the T-shirt and stitch, slightly stretching along the edge of the inlay. Tuck the ends of the inlay and re-stitch (at the side seams). Treat the armholes of the shirt in the same way.
