Thus, tunics for ladies with curvy figures are presented in a huge assortment. If desired, you can find models for any time of year, event and event.

Master class and sewing nuances

It's no secret that a unique thing is created by the hands of a craftswoman. Even if the starting material was the simplest pattern, with subsequent adjustment the product acquires a share of individuality and becomes truly exclusive.

And besides sewing a tunic does not seem to be a difficult task. Simple tunic patterns for full sizes 54-56 will help you make a stylish item in just a few hours. Having decided on the style and model of the item, you can start sewing it. The material from which the tunic is made will be knitwear. After all, knitted tunics for obese women are best suited for everyday wear. It is comfortable, has great stretch and is suitable for almost any time of year. The pattern of a simple-cut tunic for obese women is given below, corresponding to sizes 52-56.

It is worth remembering that in the diagrams all parts are given without allowance for seams. Therefore, in the process of transferring the pattern onto the fabric, it is necessary to leave about two centimeters at the bottom, and leave one centimeter in the remaining blanks.

The first step is to process and grind the following parts:: cuffs, collar and collar placket. Then the two bodice pieces are placed right sides together and stitched together. Now you can sew a placket to both edges of the bodice. The seam of the pass is carefully ground down and ironed.

The next step is to do a little gathering by hand and then stitch the front of the bodice to the front. There is also gathering at the bottom of the sleeve. The cuff piece is carefully placed on the front of the sleeve and then stitched. The resulting seam must be ironed downwards.

The cut on the back should be gathered up a little. The gather and back of the bodice are then folded right side out and stitched. The middle seam on the back is carefully sewn down and ironed. The front part of the future tunic and the back are folded right sides together and stitched in the shoulder area. sewn to the neckline, then the side seams are sewn. The gaps are carefully ironed. The upper part of the sleeve is combined with the resulting shoulder seam.

All that remains is to process the bottom edge. To do this, the fabric is folded inward and stitched along the front side. However, pulling the fabric is highly discouraged. The bottom is smoothed with an iron. The product is now ready.

Using the same principle, you can make another, no less interesting style of tunic. The patterns are given below and are designed for sizes 52, 54 and 56.

Creation method without a pattern

This product is so easy to sew that the craftswoman doesn’t even have to make a pattern. The picture below schematically shows how the tunic should look.

The first step is to prepare a piece of the selected material, the width of which corresponds to the length, neckline and two parts of the sleeve length. And the length is two lengths of the future tunic. Now the material is folded in half and a hole for the neck is cut in the marked place.

The next step is to make two holes on the back and front sides of the tunic. In this case, the distance between the points should be equal to the half-circumference of the body and an allowance of ten centimeters. A thin belt or cord is threaded through the resulting holes. There is another way. In the marked place, as in the previous method, elastic bands are sewn. In this case, the bottom of the product is gathered in an original way and looks more elegant. To advantageously emphasize the chest, it is necessary to retreat a few centimeters from the neckline to the left and right, and the sleeves are cut in half from the intended points to the end. The tunic is ready!

Girls with curvy figures should not wear shapeless clothes. A fitted cut of clothing will visually slim your figure. The loose style of things will give comfort when moving.

An example of a blouse pattern can be seen in the photo. The style is a blouse with a yoke, with long sleeves.

The next model is sewn based on a dress pattern for plus size girls. Short sleeve blouse– an excellent solution for work and everyday meetings. The length of the blouse can be chosen at your discretion.

Polka Dot Tunic Blouse is cut out in 2 parts: backs and shelves with a one-piece sleeve. The waist is gathered with elastic. The style of the blouse allows you to combine it with narrow trousers.

You can choose any material for all the listed blouses: silk, chiffon, satin, cotton. A satin blouse is suitable for special occasions and holidays. Silk, chiffon - if the blouse is intended for birthday celebrations, work and school.

Office work involves spending a long time in stuffy offices. Silk and chiffon blouses will be a real lifesaver. The fabrics are breathable and dry quickly.

Tunic blouse pattern

Tunic is a universal model for all women. The style of the blouse with a dropped shoulder, one-piece sleeves and a v-neck are three advantages of sewing such a tunic for yourself.

The drawing is made using a ruler and pencil on paper. The pattern is suitable for beginners in sewing.

The neckline and bottom of the sleeves can be finished with a facing or any bias tape. Contrasting bias tape will give the product a beautiful look. This version of the binding is suitable if the main fabric is plain or the color of the binding matches one of the colors on the fabric.

Sewing workshops

Summer beckons with its heat. And more and more short-sleeved clothes are appearing in women's wardrobes.

Cutting does not require great sewing skills. The absence of darts is another opportunity to try yourself as a skilled seamstress. The style of the blouse will visually remove excess from the figure.

Summer sleeveless model

Where does the creation of a sleeveless blouse begin? Below are detailed instructions:

  • Create a drawing of the pattern on paper, outline the main outline of the pattern with a thick line and cut it out.
  • Separately on paper, redraw the neckline and armhole and make a facing pattern. The width of the facing is 3 cm.

  • Fold the fabric in half along the grain. Pin the back and front pattern with pins so that the middle of the fabric coincides with the middle of the front and back. Trace the pattern with a simple pencil along the outline. Next, you need to set aside seam allowances from the outline. Cut out the cut details.
  • Cut the facing onto the fabric. If there is not enough material, then the facing is cut out in parts. In this case, all parts must be sewn.
  • A zipper should be sewn into the middle of the back. Make a cut in the back piece for the length of the zipper (see video). Finish open sections with a zigzag stitch or a special stitch for overcasting.
  • Baste and sew the sides of the blouse and shoulders.
  • Finish the neckline and two armholes with a facing.
  • Hem the bottom of the product

How to sew a zipper, see the following video.

"Bat"

Blouse with sleeves - an original style that immediately attracts attention.

Before sewing a blouse, you need to prepare a pattern. Cutting takes place taking into account generally accepted cutting standards. You can read about this in the description of the previous blouse.

  • Sew the blouse along the shoulder lines.
  • Use a closed hem stitch to hem the edge of the sleeves.
  • Finish the neck with a facing. The V-neck of the blouse should be clear. After the facing is sewn, cut off a corner at the corner of the neckline (without affecting the machine stitching).
  • As soon as the facing is sewn to the neckline, it is necessary to make a transitional edging on the inside. When finished, the piping looks like this: the joint between the facing seam and the neckline should be on the inside. The front side in the neckline area of the blouse turns out beautiful and even.

  • It's time to stitch the sides of the blouse. Align the shelf and back along the side lines. For those new to sewing, it is recommended to pin them with sewing pins. Baste and stitch the sides.
  • Hem the bottom using any known method.

Straight cut shirt

It is part of a business style.

  • Sew up the darts on the front and back.
  • The front has a button closure. Treat the edge of the shelf near the fastener with non-woven fabric. The collar is a narrow strip for loops and buttons. It needs to be cut out in 2 parts. Collar and interlining must be present. Otherwise the hinges will be flimsy. Non-woven fabric makes the strap for loops and buttons stronger and more durable.

  • Sew sides and shoulders.
  • Sew on the side of the sleeves.
  • Make gathers or tucks along the edge of the sleeve. The hem of the sleeve should match the armhole of the shirt. Tucks are made evenly from the center of the sleeve collar. The shoulder seam can serve as a guide.

  • The cuffs are cut out in 3 pieces each. Fold the cuffs right side inward and attach a piece of non-woven fabric. Sew the cuff along the rounded large edge and sides. Make notches, cut off corners and turn inside out.
  • Sew cuffs to sleeves. The collar is cut out in 3 parts: 2 parts from the main fabric, 1 part - interlining.

  • The process of making a collar is similar to cuffs. You can machine stitch along the front side of the collar along the edge.
  • Sew the collar to the neck of the shirt.
  • Hem the bottom of the product.
  • Iron the shirt.

Finding stylish clothes for smaller women is always difficult, despite the abundance of specialized stores selling “king size” items. But for those who love to sew, this is not a reason to be upset, because you can simply find a tunic pattern for full sizes 54-56 and make beautiful and comfortable clothes yourself.

Main advantages of a tunic

The tunic has come into fashion quite recently. Essentially, this clothing is a cross between a dress and a jacket. But it is longer than the jacket. Unlike a dress, a tunic can be worn in combination with trousers or jeans. Fashion designers also often refer to this item of clothing by the French word "blouson" ("large blouse").

In fact, the tunic is the oldest type of clothing that came from Ancient Rome. During antiquity, this outfit was popular among both men and women. Before the revolution and during Soviet times, when women rarely wore trousers, this element of costume was very rarely found in women's wardrobes. However, in the 1980s, when jeans and leggings began to actively come into fashion, the tunic found a rebirth. This clothing is especially popular among women of substantial build. with your own hands is undoubtedly worth it, because:

Patterns of original outfits for women of substantial build can be found in magazines dedicated to plus-size fashion, as well as on the Internet. Currently, tunics are very popular among domestic and foreign pop stars. For example, Natasha Koroleva and Mariah Kerry like to wear blouses complete with tight leggings. The main thing is to choose the right style and color so as not to look vulgar or ridiculous.

To sew a tunic for obese women using a simple cut pattern, an experienced craftswoman will need only a few hours, especially if she has a ready-made pattern and a sewing machine. Knitted tunics always look good, are comfortable and practical.

Materials for work

Before you start sewing a stylish and beautiful outfit for ladies of solid build, you need to prepare everything you need for work. It is best to choose knitted fabric, as it stretches well, does not cause allergic reactions and, unlike synthetics, allows the skin to breathe.

If the tunic is sewn for the home, cotton fabric is perfect. For an evening or holiday option, you can also choose synthetics, because such clothes are not worn every day, but only on special occasions. The main thing is that the synthetic fabric does not become electrified. If it turns out that the material has such an unpleasant property, the finished product must be treated with an antistatic agent. In addition to fabric, you will need:

  • Paper for patterns;
  • Measuring tape for ;
  • Sharp scissors for cutting fabric;
  • Needle and thread;
  • Accessories for fasteners (buttons, zippers, metal rivets);
  • A leather or fabric strap that fastens at the waist. You can decorate the tunic with a knitted strap that matches the color.

It is best to purchase fabric with a reserve. When cutting, be sure to take seam allowances into account. It is advisable to find a sewing manual that provides step-by-step instructions with photographs or diagrams. Beautiful tunics for plus size people with patterns can be found in women's magazines. To sew a tunic for obese women with your own hands, you can also watch an instructional video on the Internet or attend a master class on cutting and sewing.

The fabric can be chosen in any color. Experts say that in the spring-summer of 2018, tunics with floral and geometric patterns will come into fashion., as well as with prints (images of animals, bright inscriptions, portraits of stars). Also, monochromatic classics never go out of style. For women of the winter type, cold colors (blue, light green, turquoise) are suitable, and for women of the summer and spring type, brighter, warmer colors are suitable: peach, pink, orange or yellow.

For special occasions, of course, white is suitable. But a white tunic needs to be made from high-quality material that does not lose its presentation when washed, otherwise the elegant item will not last long. Gold and silver fabrics are perfect for corporate parties, especially Christmas and New Year's parties. Oriental-style ornaments and a pattern called “Turkish cucumber” are also always in fashion.

How to sew a stylish outfit

In order to sew a stylish outfit, you need to have basic skills in working with knitwear. You can sew either by hand or using a machine. In the latter case, you can significantly save time and effort. Here is a general job description:

When the product is ready, you can start decorating. But before that, you need to try on the tunic and see how it “fits.” If there are any defects or size discrepancies, the situation can be corrected. For example, if the tunic is too short, you can lengthen it with frills, ruffles, and decorative braid. If the outfit, on the contrary, is too long, it is not difficult to shorten it.

At the moment, models reminiscent of a Japanese kimono, as well as options with a belt or sash at the waist, are very popular. Tunic patterns for full sizes 54-56 and larger can be found in specialized literature.

Decor features

A long tunic, reminiscent of a dress, can be decorated in different ways, depending on the imagination of the needlewoman. For decoration you can use any available materials. Here are some interesting options:

You can do without decor, but then the outfit should be complemented with bright accessories. Large earrings or clip-on earrings, large wooden beads in ethnic style, and bright plastic bracelets work well.

A knitted tunic can be decorated with decorative elements (for example, flowers) made by knitting or crocheting, as well as lace. Knitted tunics for obese women are often decorated with appliques.

When choosing fabric for clothes for plus-size women, you should pay special attention to the nature of the pattern, since some patterns tend to visually increase fullness. For example, ladies in the body should avoid transverse horizontal stripes, since such a pattern additionally stretches the figure in breadth. But vertical stripes, especially black ones, alternating with any other contrasting color, on the contrary, visually make a woman or girl taller, slimmer, and fit.

The fabric from which the tunic is made should have good stretch. It is better to choose a loose style so that the clothes do not look too tight. But it’s also not worth turning the tunic into a shapeless robe, since it should emphasize the existing advantages of the figure. Models with inserted foam cups on the shoulders are well suited for overweight women; it is not difficult to sew such cups in, the main thing is to find the right material. Ladies with large breasts can opt for a model with a V-shaped collar or a deep, seductive neckline, but they must be careful so as not to look downright vulgar.

What to combine with

A tunic combined with tights or leggings, as well as with classic jeans, is a great way to look beautiful and at the same time hide excessively full hips. In this case, you should follow the simplest rule: if a girl is wearing bright leggings in the style of the 1990s, the tunic should be plain and neutral in color (for example, black, white, beige). If the jacket is bright, then the bottom should be more “calm”.

Plump ladies can wear a tunic with formal trousers to the office, and with breeches for a summer walk around the evening city. If the outfit is long, you can even wear it with regular tights as a minidress, but this option is only suitable for slender and very young girls. In summer, you can wear a tunic to the beach with shorts.

Before sewing a tunic for obese women, you also need to decide what time of year this item of clothing will be designed for. If the clothes are intended for spring and summer, you can take a lighter, “airier” fabric. For the cold season, a denser material is suitable. Also a great option for winter are knitted blouses.

Some fashionistas even wear tunics with skirts, but in this case the skirt should be long enough, narrow and straight, but not flared, without ruffles or frills.

Making a tunic with your own hands is quite easy. Such clothes will allow a plump lady to look young and attractive, and will also give confidence in her own beauty.

Attention, TODAY only!

Girls and women with curvy figures often suffer from a lack of variety in sundresses for their attractive figures. After all, styles designed for slender ladies are not always suitable for XL size girls. But this problem can be solved. Using special patterns, you can sew more than one sundress with your own hands.

Model patterns in boho style

In order to sew a sundress in this style, you need to buy a 3 m piece of any light fabric 150 cm wide. In addition to the fabric, you will need a decorative cord 1.5 m long, two buttons to match the selected fabric, thread, pins and of course a sewing machine.

It is better to soak the fabric before cutting, especially if it contains a large percentage of cotton.

Fold the prepared fabric in half and cut into two equal squares. It is necessary to cut off the edge of each workpiece so that the fabric does not warp during sewing. Then you need to process all sides of each square. In order for the future seam to be even, it is better to first steam it with an iron and then sweep it away. After this, stitch each side.

The result is two squares with dimensions of 145x145 cm. Next, we fold both canvases in the form of a diamond on top of each other and mark two points on each side, stepping back half of your wide step from the corner in each direction. The distance from one point to another will be equal to the size of the wide step. Next, we try on the workpiece and randomly mark two more points on each side in the upper part. The distance from the corner to the point is only needed to hold the fabric.

The most important thing is to mark the place where the shoulder seams will be located. There should be soft flowing folds on the chest. Also, when trying on, you need to decide on the length of the armhole.

We outline the length of the armhole and the width of the shoulder seam (5 cm), first bending the corner of the fabric inward. We baste each side and try it on again to make sure that the intended dimensions of the armhole and shoulder seams are correct.

Before sewing both pieces, you must first prepare the cord by dividing it into 4 parts. Then insert 2 parts into the corners under the armhole and sew the side and shoulder seams. You can sew the fabrics both from the wrong side and from the front side, departing 1 mm from the edge. The seam on the front side gives some advantages: it saves time, it secures the wing well on each side, and if necessary, you can quickly rip the seam apart.

Now you can insert the remaining two parts into the shoulder seams, manually from the wrong side. They perform two functions: they secure the sundress by tying it to the bra strap and drape the fabric over the chest.

We try on the sundress and fix the fabric in the corners with laces, tie it at the back like an apron. If desired, you can tie the fabric at the front. We fix the lower corner of the sundress with a button.

We sew a summer sundress

To sew a summer sundress, you will need 1 m of light fabric with a width of 150 cm. This length is sufficient for sizes 52 to 58.

We take the fabric and, stepping back from the edge of the width 10 cm, cut off a strip (future strap) equal to the length of the cut - 1 m. We sew the strap, first bending the sections inward. After this, fold the fabric in half and cut out rectangular pieces measuring 70x100 cm. Sew the side seams, departing 20 cm from the top edge.

We bend the bottom of the future sundress and process the armhole on each side. Now you can start processing the top edge. To do this, we bend the edge of the upper part by 15 mm, for convenience you can iron it, and sew it on a machine. We insert the prepared strap into the resulting fold and try it on.

If desired, you can slightly widen the bottom of the sundress, especially if the fabric is cotton.

Options for a simple beach sundress

It doesn’t take much time to sew a simple beach sundress.

We take 2 or 3 m of fabric, it all depends on your size, the standard width is 150 cm. In order to calculate the length, you need to add 3-4 cm to the hip circumference, necessary for a loose fit and add a few centimeters for the drapery. A width of 150 cm is used for the length of the sundress.

We fold the fabric and make a cut for the future neckline. In this model there will be only one seam, and it will be located on the back. There is no need to complete the seam; there should be a section equal to the length of the neckline cut.

Now we process the cut. It can either be folded inward and stitched, or finished with bias tape. The bottom of the product is folded and then hemmed to a height that is convenient for you. The upper part of the sundress is folded and processed under the drawstring. We insert the ribbon and the sundress is ready.

A sundress can be worn in different ways. If the neckline is placed in the front, the seam will be at the back. But you can also turn the neckline over, move it to the side and it will become an armhole, and the seam will be on the side.

You can sew a sundress with straps, using a T-shirt of your size as the basis. We take the fabric, fold it in half, and put a T-shirt on it. Carefully outline the upper part, taking into account the seam allowances, and from the armhole draw a straight line across the full width of the fabric. You should get a figure resembling a trapezoid. To check symmetry, fold in half and trim. If the chest is large, then the front needs to be cut longer. This is necessary so that it does not rise up.

Now we sew up the side and shoulder seams, try them on, and if everything suits us, then sew it on.

Floor length model

To sew a floor-length sundress, you will need a piece of light fabric depending on your size. For sizes 44-46 – 180 cm, 48-50 – 325 cm, 52-54 – 330 cm standard width 150 cm.

For finishing:

  • 60 cm tussah silk 135 cm wide;
  • elastic band 120 cm wide 1 cm;
  • satin ribbon five sections of 150 cm each;
  • interlining;
  • hidden zipper 60 cm.

To begin, we cut out blanks from the main fabric: front - 1 piece, back - 2 pieces, strips for drawstring 3.5 cm wide, 1.34-1.38 m long for sizes 44-46, 1.45-1.51 m for sizes 48-50, 1.58-1.65 m for sizes 52-54. From tussah silk we cut out a piece for the neckline - 2 pcs., a piece for finishing the front armhole - 4 pcs., for the back - 4 pcs. We glue interlining onto the finishing fabric parts.

We connect the back and front, sewing on the sides, leaving a slit on the left side. Sew the facings of the armholes and neckline with side seams. On each facing piece, trim the seam allowance close to the stitching, then place it under the inner piece and stitch close to the seam. We turn the internal parts of the additional parts inside out and steam the edges. Align the open sections of the trim and sew them into the armholes, then cut off the seam allowances close to the seam, baste and iron.

Assemble the neckline and back from the main fabric, taking into account the correspondence of the location of marks 1 and 2 on the main parts and the additional facing for the neckline. Then sew the finishing piece of the neck to the main piece. Iron along the seam allowance. Now let's attach the zipper.

Take the inner piece of the neck trim (not duplicated) and make a seam allowance along the long edge. Sew in the neckline, and then place the prepared inner part and sew it to the zipper strips. Baste the inner part with pre-folded edges. On the front side along the stitching seam, make a stitch as close to the seam as possible and also along the side edges.

Sew a drawstring along the waist line. Now we process the bottom of the sundress. We bend the edges, iron them and sew them off, retreating 3 cm. Now it is necessary to process the previously left cut, located on the left side. We tuck the edges, iron them and stitch them, having first retreated 2 cm from the edge. Make cross stitches in the upper parts.

Now we decorate with rhinestones, depending on the location of the ornament. We insert the prepared satin ribbons into the drawstring, and the edges should be of different lengths. You can simply stitch them to the side seam along the drawstring line.

Modeling a winter business sundress

For the cold season, you can sew a sundress with undercuts based on a fitted dress. The main thing is to correctly make changes to the back and shelf.

First we make changes to the back part. We retreat 10 cm from the point located in the center of the neckline and place a dot. Then from the top point of the neck we set aside 4 cm (along the shoulder). From the resulting point we measure 8 cm down. Then you need to connect the last point obtained with the one located below the neck in the center. We cut out the unnecessary upper part of the back.

Now we measure the points on the shelf. Just as in the back, we go down 13 cm from the center point. Now we mark 2 cm from the top point of the neckline, and also 15 cm along the shoulder and down. We set aside 17 cm along the dart line, starting from the top. Now we sequentially connect the resulting points located below the neck. Cut off the top part. We make a cut along the groove line.

We lay out the resulting pattern on the fabric so that the center of the back and shelf runs exactly along the fold of the fabric. See below for an example of pattern layout on fabric.

When outlining the details, do not forget to allow seam allowances. Bottom – 5-6 cm, side lines – 3 cm, armhole – 1.5 cm, shoulder line – 2 cm, neck line – 1 cm.
