Swimsuit without sewing. How to sew your own one-piece swimsuit. Cut from bi-elastic knitwear

Summer has come, which means it's time to pump up your abs, butt and legs. Don't forget about a stylish swimsuit that will highlight your figure and turn you into a real beach queen. No need to spend crazy amounts of money on a fashionable bikini. You can sew it yourself.

1. Take a regular swimsuit and carefully cut out small triangles.

To do this, using a marker that can be easily washed off, slowly draw two triangles. Cut them out with sharp scissors and paint the edges with clear nail polish. Voila! You have a stylish bodice, and the money is intact.

2. Buy fringe in a beautiful color and sew it onto the old bodice.

Choose fringe in a harmonious color scheme. Sew it to the top of the bandeau bodice by hand or by machine.

3. The bustier turns into a stylish swimsuit with fringes and ethnic patterns.

Isn't this beauty? You can easily create it yourself using permanent markers and your imagination. So, on a separate piece of paper, draw a pattern that will then be transferred to your swimsuit. Did you come up with it? Now take the white bra and panties. We make a sketch of the future print on them. We arm ourselves with colored markers and go ahead, decorate the swimsuit. The finishing touch: sew fringe in the color you like to the top of the bra.

4. To create such a bikini, you need to pick up a needle and thread.

Necessary:

  • sewing machine;
  • pattern;
  • fabric 1-1.2 m (cotton, silk);
  • elastic band (width 1-3 cm);
  • scissors;
  • needle, soap and everything you need for sewing.

Create the bottom:

  1. To sew swimming trunks, we cut out the necessary parts from fabric. Don't forget to leave a seam allowance (about 1.5 cm).
  2. We sew each part together.
  3. We turn each edge twice, pin it with pins and sew it on a machine.
  4. Next, sew on the elastic using a wide zigzag. Don't forget that we take it according to our own measurements. For the front and back, the total length should be divided in half.

Creating the top:

  1. We also cut out the necessary parts from the fabric (D3 - 2 pcs., D4-D7 - 1 pc.).
  2. At the top and bottom of D3 you need to hem the edges, to which we attach an elastic band with a wide zigzag (in a stretched form).
  3. Sew the edges of the bodice.
  4. And part D4 needs to be folded in half and stitched on both sides, through the third we turn the part to the front side.
  5. Iron the bow blank, tucking the edges on the third side and sewing with a hidden seam.
  6. Fold D6 in half, stitch on both sides and turn right side out.
  7. Connect the bodice and bow together.
  8. Using a couple of stitches, we attach the four edges of the bow to the bodice.
  9. We take parts D5 and D7 and, by analogy, make a small bow for swimming trunks, which we sew at the four corners at the back of the panties.

And here is another version of a similar, no less interesting swimsuit.

Here you need to take elastic fabric of any color. Cut it according to your measurements. A stylish striped bow should be sewn to the front of such a bandeau bodice.

5. Do you have an old one-piece swimsuit lying around? Turn it into a sexy trikini.

Necessary:

  • one-piece swimsuit;
  • scissors;
  • needle and thread;
  • gold ring (can be bought at a hardware store);
  • gold necklace as an accessory.

Instructions:

1. The swimsuit should be pulled over a box or stool. Use chalk to mark exactly where you want to make the cuts.

2. Carefully cut out.

3. We thread a gold ring into the lower part of the swimsuit. Sew the fabric around it. This way it won't move with you. We do the same with the top part of the swimsuit.

6. Stunning monokini

To create it you need:

  • two-piece swimsuit of the same color;
  • scissors and pins;
  • needle and thread or sewing machine;
  • a piece of elastic fabric of the same color as the chosen swimsuit (it is best to take a thong from the same set).

Instructions:

1. So, cut the swimsuit bodice in half between the cups. We also cut the thongs.

2. We sew the last ones at the top and bottom to the bodice and swimming trunks.

7. Delicate bikini.

Here you don't need to spend a lot of time altering your swimsuit. It is enough to take a bandeau bodice and a thin piece of fabric of the same color. Tie it around your bustier and you'll get a completely different swimsuit.

8. We create a branded bikini like the Chloe brand.

Take an old two-piece swimsuit. To the bodice and panties we sew this wavy frill, which we first create ourselves. To do this, take elastic fabric of the same color as the bikini. Cut out the waves. We treat the edges with transparent varnish.

9. A brand new bikini from an old T-shirt.

Necessary:

  • 1 large size T-shirt;
  • scissors, thread and needle, chalk;
  • a bikini that fits your size.
  1. Place the T-shirt on a flat surface. Attach the swimsuit bodice (pinned to the T-shirt). Using this pattern, cut out the top part of the swimsuit, not forgetting to leave 1.5 cm for an allowance.
  2. The bottom of the T-shirt will become the bodice straps (see picture).

  1. We apply the unfolded swimming trunks to the T-shirt. Cut out, not forgetting the seam allowance (1.5 cm).
  2. As with the bodice, the bottom of the t-shirt will become the straps for the swim trunks.

10. Leggings turn into an elegant swimsuit.

11. Use paint and create a swimsuit with an ombre effect.

Necessary:

  • fabric dyes (choose harmonious colors);
  • gloves to protect hands;
  • paper towels;
  • newspapers or oilcloth to protect the work surface;
  • bottle with dispenser.

Instructions:

  1. Lay out the swimsuit on a flat surface.
  2. We pour dyes into bottles.
  3. Apply paint in small lines one after another.
  4. We are waiting for the layers to begin to merge one into another.
  5. Wring out the swimsuit and let it dry (6-8 hours).

12. Add variety to your swimwear.

In addition, such gathered panties visually enlarge the buttocks. To create a similar effect from the wrong side, use a needle and thread to assemble the fabric the way you like.

13. Transform the triangular bodice into a twist top.

So, we cut the swimsuit where the top of our triangles connects to the straps. Then, let's say, we sew the tops of the triangular cups to each other.

Or you can create a bodice that will be tied in an original way:

  1. Take a top with triangular cups.
  2. We turn the latter “vertices” towards each other. That is, the straps that were tied on the back are now on the neck and vice versa.

14. Does the swimsuit look boring? Sew three ties to it instead of one.

Necessary:

  • elastic band (width 1 cm);
  • scissors, needle and thread or sewing machine.

Instructions:

  1. Decide how long the elastic band should be (it all depends on your measurements).
  2. You need to cut three strips of equal length.
  3. Carefully sew them to the bodice.

15. Feminine floral swimsuit

Do you know how to crochet? Great! Then first create some bright flowers and a couple of green leaves. Take a light, plain swimsuit and sew the previously created decor onto it.

16. Bikini turns into a one-piece swimsuit.

To create such beauty, you need a two-piece swimsuit and elastic fabric (its length depends on your measurements). We attach it to the bodice and swimming trunks. The lower part connecting the fabric with the swimming trunks can be decorated with a small frill.

17. The magical transformation of grandma’s swimsuit into a stylish thing.

Using a washing machine, we turn up the edges of the panties and sew them together. All that remains is to complement the bottom with a top that is harmonious in color and the stylish swimsuit is ready.

18. Add something new to an old swimsuit by simply adding contrasting colored straps.

Necessary:

  • strapless bikini;
  • beautiful elastic bands (width 1.5 cm);
  • pins;
  • centimeter;
  • scissors;
  • sewing machine (or needle and thread).

Instructions:

Sew on the straps. We cut the strap between the cups and sew a new one in its place. We do the same with the tie at the back.

19. Add some lace.

Take a regular bikini and a couple of lace ribbons (choose colors at your discretion). Sew them to the swimsuit using a sewing machine or needle and thread.

20. We sew a swimsuit for pregnant women.

Necessary:

  • pins;
  • elastic fabric of the same color as the swimsuit (about 1 m long);
  • threads, needles;
  • scissors;
  • sewing machine;
  • lining material (about 1 m);
  • centimeter.
  1. The panties from an old swimsuit will serve as an example. Place them on elastic fabric. Cut out the pieces.
  2. Make the lining in this way (it should be slightly smaller than the panties).
  3. Pin the lining to the main piece.
  4. Fold and finish the edges. Close the side seams.

  1. Measure your chest circumference and subtract 5-10 cm from the resulting value (it all depends on the elasticity of your material).
  2. Decide on the width of the top.
  3. Cut out two strips of the required length and width from the elastic fabric and lining.
  4. Sew the details. Gather and stitch the top in the center

Now let’s turn a sewn two-piece swimsuit into a tankini:

  1. We measure the girth under the chest, abdomen and the abdomen itself. Again we subtract 5-10 cm from these values.
  2. Cut out two rectangles from elastic fabric and lining. Sew them to each other, gathering on the sides.
  3. Pin the top to the front and topstitch.

21. Create a tankini with an unusual top.

To create such a swimsuit, we take elastic fabric in two colors. To sew a bustier, we thread two pieces of shreds through each other and get two cups of different colors. Sew the fabric on the back. Sew on bright straps.

Next, let's start sewing swimming trunks: we apply old swim briefs to the fabric, cut them, sew them together, decorating the sides with brightly colored straps. The final stage: to create a tankini, we sew a piece of fabric to the top and get a completely new swimsuit.

22. Cut up your swimsuit for a stylish piece.

We need:

  • scissors;
  • centimeter;
  • one-piece swimsuit;
  • elastic fabric of the same color.

Instructions:

1. Cut the fabric into small pieces. Make small cuts on both sides of the swimsuit.

2. Bandage them with scraps. To be secure, sew each knot with a needle and thread.

23. Turn an ordinary bra into a colorful swimsuit.

Necessary:

  • old sconce;
  • swimsuit fabric;
  • scissors;
  • sewing machine or needle and thread;
  • pins;
  • clasp for a new swimsuit.

Instructions:

24. Rhinestones and sequins will make your outfit stylish.

Simply decorate your top and bottoms with sparkling stones.

25. Learning how to tie a swimsuit in different ways.

Method No. 1

Let's turn our bustier over. So, the straps that were tied behind the neck are now tied at the back.

Method No. 2

Let's call this option traditional.

Method No. 3

As in the first option, we turn the top over and cross the straps in front.

Method No. 4

This is the same method No. 1, but the thin straps at the neck are tied crosswise.

Method No. 5

Traditional bandeau.

Method number 6

We take the first option, then the fifth (bandeau) and tie the straps around the neck.

An equally interesting option is to update an old T-shirt that can be worn as a swimsuit.

To do this, use sharp scissors to cut out rhombuses on it so that you get such a mesh beauty.

Another great idea with a touch of romance

Take your favorite T-shirt, tape, glue and scissors. Using ribbon, we form a heart on the back. Let's glue it. We wait for the glue to dry and carefully cut it out.

Finally, another creation that is created from an old T-shirt and using bleach.

First, decorate old T-shirts with drops of bleach. We are waiting for the result to appear. Next, cut off the sleeves and make a deep neckline. We tie up the front and back of our T-shirt with scraps of fabric.

Fashion designer

Do you know how difficult it was for beachgoers before the invention of the modern swimsuit? The struggle for morality sometimes took very unexpected forms. What are the “bathing machines” worth?

Drawn by horses, they delivered a cabin with a bather straightmo into the water. And, having descended from the cart, it was possible to splash in the shallow water with the horse standing next to it. Sometimes, together with the bather, there was a specially trained lady in the booth - a “dipper”. She had to help get in and out of the bathing machine. If the bather did not know how to swim, she was tied around her waist with a thick rope, the other end of which was tied to the edge of the cart so that she would not be carried away by the current.

The pleasure is questionable, isn't it? But the woman’s chastity was protected 100 percent!

What can you say about multi-layer swimsuits made of warm flannel with weights)? The costume consisted of a dress, trousers and a cap. The weights served as weights in order tothe dress did not ride up in the water. By the way, stockings and gloves on the beach were also not uncommon. It was difficult to swim in such clothing...

After the First World War, there was progress in beach fashion trends. Swimwear has become more revealing. And a specialist with a ruler monitored the degree of openness on the beach.

And so, despite the general strictness of morals, bikini swimsuits came into the world. This was such a bold move by fashion designer Louis Reard that almost all fashion models refused to show them on the catwalk. Then they called a stripper from one of the Parisian clubs to help! The name “bikini” also has a very interesting history. Related to nuclear testing...

There are a lot of interesting facts in the history of the swimsuit. When I was preparing for the article, I plunged into the study of its evolution with great pleasure... And, do you know what I was thinking about all this time? That we are incredibly lucky. We are lucky that we live right now. We can afford to expose or, on the contrary, cover our body, relying only on our upbringing and inner morality. And not be afraid of being arrested, like Anna Kellerman, for your swimsuit.

What types of swimsuits have not been invented by modern fashion! Here you can find a chaste tankini, a comfortable and well-supporting halterneck, with a playful slimdress skirt, an exciting plange, a strapless bandeau... You can’t count everything.

For any figure you can choose a suitable style and cut. And even more - all the models I listed can be sewn yourself, using the pattern of a one-piece swimsuit - melot - as a basis. The construction of which we will now engage in.

I will tell you about a method for obtaining a pattern for a one-piece swimsuit - melot, using a ready-made one. Made to suit your figure. And even taking into account the characteristics of the elastic fabric from which swimsuits are made. With our pattern making generator, the pattern making process is very convenient. And many positive reviews do not allow one to doubt its accuracy.

So let's get started. First, a little about what fabric to choose for your future swimsuit. It can be any fabric that can stretch, of medium density. But it’s still better to take knitwear with a high lycra content; 25-28% lycra in the composition is the optimal proportion.

Now you need to take measurements from the figure. I wrote about how to take measurements correctly in this article. The list of required measurements is on the plate.

But first, I want to say aboutfabric elongation coefficient . It must be taken into account when creating a swimsuit pattern from stretchable materials. How to do it. First, let's calculate its digital value.

Having the coefficient, you can adjust the values of your measurements and get a pattern for a well-fitting product. Simply multiply the value of the dimensional attribute (measurement) by a coefficient.

If you bought fabric that stretches in all directions (supplex). Then you need to reduce all dimensional characteristics (your own measurements) - girth, length and width. Having previously calculated the fabric coefficient by fractional and by UTC separately. If the fabric stretches only along the weft, then only the girths and widths.

You will need these measurements to fill out the form in our. Measurements should be taken tight holding the measuring tape close to your body.

Construction of a one-piece swimsuit pattern

Everything is very simple! You just need to substitute your own measurements, multiplied by the coefficient, into the program and the program will build a pattern-basis of the adjacent silhouette. We will modify it. As a result, we will get a basic pattern for a one-piece swimsuit, which you can model to your liking.

There is no need to cut anything yet. All subsequent constructions are carried out on the drawing of the front and back patterns.

    From the waistline of the backrest downwards, set aside the measurement for Seat Height. Draw a horizontal line to the right.

    To obtain the gusset from the seat line, in the middle of the front and back, set the length of the gusset down (across the back ¼ of the B measurement, along the front ¼ of the B measurement minus 0 to 1 cm).

    Lower the armhole by 2-2.5 cm

    Build the neckline on the back and front as shown in the picture. I tried to depict it in an accessible way and added inscriptions.

    The size of the waist dart solutions must be narrowed along the side seams of the front and back. All we have to do is design the lower sections of the swimsuit and the gusset.

Tip: In order not to make a mistake with the width of the gusset, use your most comfortable panties, simply attaching them to the pattern.

To achieve a good fit of the swimsuit in the area of the front armhole and back neckline, I suggest you use this technique: the length of the cuts in these areas. To do this, make a cut as shown in the figure and “collapse” the pattern pieces so that the length of the cuts is reduced, see fig.

How to make a one-piece swimsuit pattern with cups

NI would like to say a little about the basis of the swimsuit pattern with cups. To construct such a swimsuit, the DTP measurement must be taken around the chest. Fixing the measuring tape with your hand under the chest, continue measuring to the waist. This technique will allow you to take this measurement more accurately and achieve the tightest fit of the chest in the finished product.

    To create a cup on the bodice of a swimsuit pattern, draw a circle with a radius of 8-10 cm (depending on the size of the chest) and the center at the top of the chest dart.

    For the best fit in the hollow between the mammary glands, an additional tuck of its solution will be required from 2.5 to 3.5 cm.

The exact value of the dart solution can be calculated as follows: the DTP measure minus the Length in the middle of the front measure and minus the Neck Depth.

    For a better fit of the swimsuit under the bust, we will increase the opening of the waist dart in its upper part. see fig.

"The dart solution can be calculated more accurately in this way: Og measurements minus the Girth measurement under the bust."

    Let's not forget about the strap!

    The construction of the swimsuit in the lower part is similar to the construction I wrote about above. See the basic pattern for a maillot swimsuit.

Our lesson has come to an end. Now you can model any swimsuit model you like based on it. I will only give advice on how to do this in the simplest way.

    Make a sample swimsuit from scrap fabric. Of course it must be elastic. Put it on and draw model lines on it. By cutting them you will get a pattern for your new swimsuit.

    Working out a swimsuit pattern using a sampler will help you avoid mistakes and improve the fit

Sewing stretchy fabrics is not difficult. But there are some nuances:

  • Seams should be made with an elastic seam. Use overlock, zig-zag, coverlock, cover stitching machine...
  • Threads need to be strong. Better yet, textured ones.

After taking a break from almost the entire World Wide Web, I picked up several interesting, in my opinion, ideas on how to make a swimsuit.

DIY swimsuit

Have you ever wanted to sew a swimsuit with your own hands? Have you ever had such a creative thought? For example, she visited me quite recently. My cousin called and asked for advice on the topic - which swimsuit to choose: one-piece or two-piece, bikini or tankini, push-up or bandeau, what color or what print? In general, she tortured me very much)))

After thinking a little, after this difficult conversation for me, I decided - why not sew a swimsuit myself? After all, it will be very entertaining and useful, and most importantly, you definitely won’t see the same identical swimsuit on the beach. But then the question arose: how to sew it, what material to use, what sewing technique?

After taking a break from almost the entire World Wide Web, I picked up several interesting, in my opinion, ideas on how to make a swimsuit. For myself, I noted many advantages of these master classes:

Firstly, they are quite light and simple to perform. The entire progress of the work is shown in video and photos in detail and step by step.

Secondly, they require absolutely no costs, since the swimsuit is made from old unnecessary things (provided that you have a sewing machine and thread).

Thirdly, with the help of these video and photo lessons you can sew a one-piece swimsuit, a separate swimsuit with flounces, a skirt or a bandeau top.

Well, and most importantly, I think, having mastered these rather simple techniques and some of their tricks, you will be able to easily come up with something new, your own. Have fun experimenting!

We invite you to watch a photo master class on how to make a swimsuit, or rather a bandeau top, with your own hands, from a simple black T-shirt. The entire course of action is shown in great detail in the photo.

This is what you will need.

We wrap the ring with thick thread and cut out 4 wide strips from the T-shirt.

We sew the strips together, we should get 2 double stripes (this will be the basis for the top).

We put the bases of the strips together and fix them, braiding them.

Cut two more pieces of fabric for the lining.

We thread the stripes for the bandeau top into the ring.

Hello, dear readers, I am writing this article today about how to sew a swimsuit at home, and here I found a video about swimsuit models for those with curvy figures, watch:

In order to sew a swimsuit yourself, it is enough to have a sewing machine with a simple zig-zag function.

That's all. This is enough to completely sew an entire swimsuit or thong with your own hands.

From the reverse side, of course, it will not look like the factory one. But that's not the point.

First, let's see how a regular stitch behaves when you stretch it (imagine how you take off or put on a swimsuit). Right. The seams have burst in some places.

To prevent this from happening, we will use a zig-zag with a small step. Set the stitch length to 2 mm and the zigzag width to 1.5-2 mm. Try it on a scrap piece of fabric. Now stretch the seam. If it is torn, increase the width of the zig-zag.

This seam can be used when sewing side, shoulder, and step sections of a swimsuit. You can also zig-zag all the seams.

This was a small “lyrical” digression, but now let’s get down to business.

Materials you will need for sewing:

  • 0.6 m of knitted fabric with lycra 1.2 m wide
  • 0.25 m of knitted mesh for lining the upper part of the bodice.
  • Elastic band 8 mm wide.
  • A piece of cotton jersey measuring 10 by 10 cm for the gusset.

Fold the top front of the main and lining fabrics, wrong sides together. You can even out and sweep the cuts with a 1.5 cm wide seam yourself.

From knitted fabric, cut out a strip of fabric for the bodice ties. 60 cm long and 2.5 cm wide. The split thread is located along the strip.

Fold the strip lengthwise, right side inward, and sew the longitudinal sections together using a zig-zag stitch. Stitch width 3 mm; stitch length 2 mm. This line can also be done on an overlocker, if you have one.

Now turn the part for the ties right side out: To do this, you can use the old fashioned method: take a more powerful hand needle, it is sometimes called a “gypsy needle”. Thread the thread in quadruples and secure the thread to the tip of the swimsuit string.

Then pass the needle into the part with the blunt end first and move the needle towards the exit.

When the needle appears outside, very carefully pull the thread, straightening the part with your fingers at the top.

This is what you have: this is the part for the strings of the swimsuit.

Now pin and baste the resulting straps to the bottom cut of the upper part of the front in the center, placing one on the front side and the other on the wrong side.

Baste and sew the bottom and top front pieces with a straight stitch, stretching the fabric. This must be done to ensure that the seam is elastic. The seam width should be 7 mm. Sew open edges using a zig-zag stitch.

Place the front and back pieces right sides together and baste along the side edges using a 7mm wide seam.

Sew the side seams with a 7mm wide seam and overcast with a zigzag stitch.

Connect the front and back of the swimsuit along the step cut with a seam 5 mm wide. Seal the cuts. Do not remove the temporary stitch for basting the gusset to the swimsuit yet, it will come in handy later.

The completely tropical heat hit us without any warning, almost taking us by surprise. Be honest: have you already bought yourself a swimsuit - one that is designed not just for sunbathing, but also to slay some sultry macho man on the Mediterranean coast? No? I had no time? Are you going on vacation soon and you don’t want to go shopping looking for exactly the model that’s perfect for you?

Let's try to sew swimsuit with your own hands, and our master classes will help you with this. Go for it!

First, let's watch a video master class from a professional designer on how to sew a swimsuit with your own hands.

Strapless swimsuits (bandeau) never go out of style. They are ideal for a better tan, because... do not leave marks from the straps. But bandeau swimsuits are not suitable for everyone. If you have a large bust, a strapless bodice will not support the weight and may expose your assets. For this purpose, there are models of bandeau swimsuits with a silicone band along the top, but you cannot swim in them.

Lesson 1. We sew a fashionable bandeau swimsuit with our own hands. Video master class

Do you want to sew a swimsuit yourself, but don’t want to spend money on buying fabric? The solution is simple - take a thing that you no longer wear, but it has retained its color and fabric texture, and sew a swimsuit from it.

Lesson 2 (thrifty, use old things). How to make a new and interesting model out of an old and boring one-piece swimsuit. Video master class

Do you have problem thighs? The ideal option to hide this flaw is a two-piece swimsuit with a miniskirt. Such a swimsuit will not only hide the imperfections of your figure, but will also draw attention to the unusual swimsuit.

Lesson 3. We sew a swimsuit with panties-skirt. Video master class

If you are not used to sewing by eye, please watch a video master class on how to sew a swimsuit with your own hands using a pattern.

Lesson 4. We sew a beautiful one-piece swimsuit according to the pattern. Video master class

Let's continue the master classes on sewing swimsuits with your own hands. We bring to your attention a two-piece bandeau swimsuit with a pattern.

This is a pattern for a swimsuit top, which will consist of two parts: front and back. They need to be sewn on the sides. Important information: the points in the figure are 3 centimeters from the midline. Crosses are the center of the chest. Two rectangles - the top of a swimsuit, in length - the half-circumference of the chest minus 4 centimeters, which compensates for the stretching of the fabric. The height of each rectangle is 12 centimeters.

When cutting, you need to add a few extra centimeters; they will be needed for overlaying the edges and for hemming the elastic.
