The combination of yellow and green in clothes. What color does dark green go with: the basics of compatibility. What colors does orange go with?

We find rich green color in the variety of its shades in everything that surrounds us. And how successful are its combinations in nature! Once inspired, you can freely use them to create stylish looks for all occasions. Naturalness is a key parameter in the formation of “friendly relations” between self-sufficient green and other colors, which often conflict with it. How to avoid them and stop being afraid of bright shades of green, where to wear a new emerald dress and why a forest green coat is a must have for the cold season - in this material we will reveal all the cards!

In past seasons we have already encountered some specific shades, such as golden lime, blue pine or olive. It's time to pay attention to the palette that is more familiar to the eye: let's look at the best combinations of green, compiling a top list of the most popular tones.

Forest greens

Forest green is one of the deepest and richest tones in the green color gradation. At first glance, it may seem that it is exclusively a spring-summer element, but by abandoning the templates, you can wrap yourself in a bright chunky knit sweater or throw a cozy oversize coat over your shoulders. You can create a balance of brightness and contrast using a mix of forest greens and shades of beige (coffee with milk, Camel), “calm” ocher tones, muted gradations of red (Bordeaux, Marsala), dark chocolate shades and classic combinations of black and white. In addition, do not be afraid of textures and “aggressive” animal prints (leopard, zebra).

Khaki

This dusty, greenish-brown hue is the main attribute of the military style, however, this is not its only purpose. A combination that you can't go wrong with is the classic contrast of black and white, especially when the two colors merge into a single striped ensemble. In addition, khaki is combined with delicate beige shades (if we are talking about accessories, the suede texture looks the most advantageous), as well as with wine and crimson-red tones.

The precious shade beckons with its depth! You can create images based on one emerald-colored item, or you can experiment long and hard with a monolook in a single color scheme. The right option is always to place accents in the form of bright spots of color: for example, a handbag, shoes or a print interspersed with emerald. The latter can look completely unexpected: from stripes forming a checkered print to geometry and floral patterns.

In everyday looks, emerald can be combined with both dark shades (burgundy, dark chocolate, chestnut) and a number of pastel colors - beige, peach, delicate almond and so on. A great idea for an evening look is an elegant and sophisticated combination of bright emerald green with luxurious gilding.

Prints

Green is the color that literally reveals itself in the company of intricate designs, figures and splashes of other colors. Especially when it comes to floral and plant prints: large contrasting flowers or succulent leaves - nature itself tells us the right combinations. In addition, there is no need to be afraid of geometry: the intersection of lines of different shades within the green color scheme, rich colors that form a bright palette with green: ocher-yellow, aquamarine, red or candy shades - peach, pale pink, cream, mint.

From theory to practice: green pantsuit

The most sophisticated and elegant element of a woman's wardrobe is a trouser suit. As a rule, we pay attention to strict office colors, be it black, gray or dark blue. Why not opt for a rich salad green, the color of freshly cut grass, or dark green? You can balance the brightness with the help of neutral accessories: nude pumps, a light bag with an accent in the form of a splash of carrot-red or blue, as well as dark inserts: burgundy, chocolate and the usual option - black. The play of textures is also interesting: the shimmer of velvet and the reflections on metallic-colored accessories - we already talked above about how close the union of noble emerald color and gold can be.

Rich green color: instructions for use during the cold season

How to “green” your autumn-winter wardrobe? A wide maxi coat, taken as the basis of the image! An idea that should be taken note and even implemented is a black monolook, diluted with a bright green coat. Note: a strict English trench coat, which we are used to seeing in beige with a checkered lining inside, can also be turned into greenery - the base for the perfect casual style look is ready!

Green fur

This is not the first time we have heard about the popularity of “Yeti” fur coats. Faux fur or natural fur – it doesn’t matter, the focus is on a completely different parameter, and that is color! Such a “long-haired” detail requires a central role in the image, therefore, it should not be overloaded with colors and textures. A classic dark-colored skinny jeans model and a couple of simple accessories are enough, be it a cap or a warm knitted hat to match.

Green can not only be the basis for a monochromatic look, but also become the final chord in any look. At first glance, a self-sufficient green color “collaborates” perfectly with a huge range of contrasting shades and fits into any print and texture.

Green color is a symbol of life, as it is associated with the spring awakening of nature - with the first leaves on the trees and the emerging grass. Warm herbal and olive are very beautifully complemented by corn yellow, sand, mustard and pure yellow.

Green and lilac, purple

Turquoise green, emerald and other shades of green look elegant in combination with lilac, violet, lilac and lavender shades. If you want to combine green shades with these tones, then they will go perfectly with clear purple shades (grass green and apple green look great with them), as well as eggplant purple.

Blue and green, green and cyan

Blue and blue tones are successfully combined with cold tones of green: cobalt, azure, gray-blue, royal blue, etc. Also in tandem with blue and blue colors, green forms harmonious contrasting combinations that are appropriate in beach and summer fashion, in clothes for events.

Combinations of green shades with pastel undertones

Pale pink with emerald, wormwood, turquoise green will create romantic, luxurious duets. Light blue, pale mint, pale lilac tones are in harmony with blue-green and yellow-green colors.

If there is uncertainty that an ensemble made up of these colors will look overly provocative, you can use one proven technique. Make the main outfit one color, and use the other for accessories.

The right combination of contrasting shades will create a unique look.

Examples of images could be the following:

  • Accessories such as green jewelry or a clutch go well with a wine-colored dress. Shoes are also matched to the color of the bag.

A fairly popular and catchy combination is the combination of green and orange. This bright look is suitable for both the spring-summer season and autumn. These two colors can be combined in different proportions.

The best choice for bright personalities is a combination of green and orange

Depending on the intensity of orange, the shade of green is selected. The brighter the orange, the less it should be. And the more saturated and muted the green should be.

It will make the image more harmonious and balance out the bright orange. For those who prefer neon orange color, the best option would be to use it in accessories, strictly dosed.

  • Bright yellow top (top, blouse, jumper) and slightly darker – emerald, jade – bottom (skirt, trousers).
  • Yellow dress and green accessories (shoes, handbag, jewelry). You shouldn’t choose all green accessories; you might go overboard. It is only important to focus on this color.
  • When choosing outerwear, a yellow cropped coat with a green scarf and bag will look beneficial. A great way to stand out in the crowd and take your mind off the autumn blues.

What color goes better with green than yellow? This combination creates the most “sunny” image.

The big advantage is that The colors of the bottom and top of the images can be changed, it will not reduce the beauty.

Green and purple

Purple and green can be combined in different proportions. The most advantageous is the tandem of dark green, emerald color with deep, rich purple.

Green with pink -
the most delicate combination of shades in clothes

The main thing is to choose the right shades. Combination options may be as follows:

  • A mint blouse or top goes well with a powder pink A-line skirt. This set will look no less gentle and romantic with short trousers with arrows. Sandals or beige shoes are suitable for footwear.

  • An evening dress in deep green and gold accessories and shoes is the perfect combination of these colors.
  • A casual dress embroidered in several places with gold threads will make your day a little more colorful.

Most of the time, women add gold color to their outfit through accessories because they are afraid of going overboard.

Stylists sometimes advise going beyond the boundaries: purchasing a gold dress or suit and diluting it with green accessories and shoes. This image will be remembered for a long time.

Green and silver (gray)

Fashion designers have long decided which color goes with green - it is gray. It is used for outerwear, shoes, accessories, and classic clothing. Silver accentuates evening dresses in green.

  • A gray voluminous knit snood will fit perfectly into an ensemble of an emerald biker jacket and black jeans. A gray backpack or boots can be an addition.

Green accessories and shoes

Green color is often used by women in the form of accessories. This can be jewelry with natural stones (emerald, jade, malachite, chrysolite, aquamarine, amazonite and others), belts, hair jewelry, bags.

The most popular green accessories are shoes, bags and belts

Green shoes, from sandals to boots, are also very popular. All kinds of shades of green can be seen on scarves, stoles, and hats.

Choosing which green accessories will suit a particular outfit is often intuitive. Since most women feel colors and shades very subtly. If nature has gifted you with another talent, do not be upset.

There are a few simple rules that will allow you to choose the right accessories for your look:

  • You should not accumulate all the accessories in one place (necklace, scarf, headdress). It is better to distribute them evenly throughout the entire look, for example shoes, a bag or a scarf (stole) and a bracelet.
  • Stylists do not recommend wearing more than three types of accessories of the same color; this will make the image chaotic and overloaded.
  • Green accessories and shoes should be in harmony with each other and be similar in style to clothing.

What doesn't go with green?

When thinking about what color does not go with green, it’s difficult to say for sure. It all depends on the shades of green and the color combined with it. For example, it is difficult to imagine a combination of neon orange and bright lime green. Or with similar ultra bright shades.

However, there are situations when seemingly incompatible colors on a particular person look incredibly stylish. After all, individual appearance features also matter a lot: facial features, hair and figure features.

Useful videos on the topic of choosing clothes in shades of green

What color goes best with green is presented in the following video:

This video clearly shows which color goes with green in clothes:

The light green color is, perhaps, the same in relation to green as mint is in relation to blue. More vibrant, more original, more fresh. Despite the fact that light green is mainly a bright color, it has a beneficial and even calming effect on the psyche.

Just like that – it looks bright and doesn’t put any pressure on the psyche! By the way, you can enhance the unusualness and brightness of the light green color by choosing items such as a coat, trousers or vest of this color, because people are accustomed to the fact that such basic items of clothing are usually neutral shades. Surprise those around you with a combination of colors in your clothes with light green.

Of course, when starting a topic about this color, we will barely touch on images for the office and school. For these cases, the light green color can act at most as a small, unobtrusive color accent in a black or gray suit. Therefore, further we will discuss mainly everyday, evening and simply bright images. So what to wear with light green?

Light green color and light shades

The light green color and the combination of light colors in clothes with it give us a lot of trump cards.

Light green + white

The light green color looks stunning with snow-white. For summer, this is one of the best and most successful combinations, since white color enhances the richness of light green, and it, in turn, emphasizes the pristine dazzlingness of its partner.

For the purity of the experiment, you shouldn’t even add any other colors to this combination, unless it’s silver. This juicy and spectacular tandem is just as ideal for cocktail dresses, evening dresses and those occasions where you need to publicly (or publicly) declare yourself. For them, accessories in gold and silver shades can be added to this combination, and jewelry can be inlaid with multi-colored, but small stones.

For example: light green overalls with a strict silhouette with short sleeves, a light summer trench coat in white, white sandals and a silver clutch (everyday option); a green short dress with a flirty silhouette, a white bolero, a golden clutch and stiletto pumps and a golden necklace with bright pink stones.

Light green and pastel shades

The combination of pastel colors with light green in clothes is a double-edged sword. Some shades of light green are themselves considered pastel, and they certainly harmonize with other pastel elements. But a bright light green color can also make good combinations with these beautiful delicate shades.

Number one is lemon, which with light green of any brightness will form a pair reminiscent of the tropics, sun and herbs and will lift your spirits with its juiciness.

No less attractive are combinations of light green with soft blue and lilac shades; the effect from them will be approximately the same - associated with certain associations.

With peach and pale pink, bright lime may be too bright a combination, but if you are not afraid of experiments (lime pleated skirt and pale pink blouse), then this option is for you.

Light green and other colors

When asking ourselves what colors go with light green in clothes, we must first take into account the occasion. If we are talking about cocktail dresses or an outfit for a disco or party, then, of course, there may be no restrictions. Here, red, blue, and orange are suitable, the main thing is not to overdo it with the brightness and amount of color.

But to create more restrained images, there are some rules. Light green looks best with blue flowers, both bright and dark. For bold decisions, choose light green and fuchsia.

With bright yellow, as well as with pale yellow, light green will make a harmonious and sunny pair, which can be diluted either with white or with some muted but contrasting color.

Orange and red are too risky, but they can be replaced with rust, terracotta or brown. This is a more restrained combination, although elegance with light green is out of the question

Light green and black

As we have already said, a light green detail can be added to a black suit in a business style. If the main color is light green, then some black details will be very appropriate, and if they are geometric, then it will look very stylish.

You can also add white. This option will look interesting and extravagant: black jeans, a gray T-shirt and a light green long blazer. Stylish and fresh.

Light green and gray

This is, perhaps, a very calm, gentle and pleasant combination that will not shock the public and will look juicy and moderate.

Light green combines especially beautifully with dark and dirty gray and gray melange. This is an option for everyday activities, for walking and traveling - stylish and bright, but not too flashy.

Red comes first high energy color. It is a hot, strong, stimulating color. It increases blood pressure, libido, quickens breathing, and speeds up metabolism. The artist Aivozovsky worked in a room painted red, and this stimulated his creativity. All other properties of red - the color of blood and fire - stem from its energy intensity.

The meaning of red associated with love, passion, desire, warmth, strong desire, lust, sexuality, sensuality, romance, joy, strength, energy, activity, hard work, leadership, courage, willpower, anger, irritability, danger, stress, brightness and determination.

Red- assertive, self-confident, courageous, decisive, energetic, enthusiastic, impulsive, exciting and defiant color. Red represents physical energy, lust, excitement and strong desire. It symbolizes activity, self-confidence and courage. Red is associated with the most primitive physical, emotional and financial needs, survival and self-preservation. This color emphasizes materiality, substance, and symbolizes the active male principle.

Red- a heavy color that contains a set of emotions from passion and strong love to cruelty, hostility and war. This is the color of an angel and a devil at the same time.

This color is often used to express love like Valentine's Day, but it is more associated with sexuality and lust than with love - love is expressed in pink. Therefore, the place where brothels are located is called the “red light” area, since in the past such lanterns hung in front of the entrance to the above-mentioned establishments.

Too much red spoils the mood, anxiety, anger, bossiness, demanding and autocratic behavior. Too little red leads to lethargy, passivity, apprehension, tearfulness, and the feeling that you are being manipulated. If you want to become more energetic, add a little red to your life.

What else does red mean?

Why does red mean danger?

Even among our distant ancestors, red was, first of all, a symbol of threat, revealing itself in the fire of fires, the lava of erupting volcanoes and the ominously beautiful sunset, promising the inevitable beginning of night and the reign of dark forces on earth. But most of all, the red color manifested itself in the blood of animals hunted or sacrificed, as well as wounded and killed warriors. Red blood then did not symbolize life, but was life itself, because ancient people understood that its loss led to death.

Annoying, alarming, attention-grabbing, the color red is used to indicate danger. It is suitable for painting items needed in emergency situations: lifebuoy, fire fighting equipment, fire hydrant, stop valve. Prohibiting, warning and stopping road signs and red traffic lights are painted with it. Red flags or ribbons mark a dangerous location where an accident has occurred or a crime has occurred. A red flag on a lifeguard tower on the seashore signals that the sea has strong waves and swimming is prohibited. Fire trucks and vehicles transporting explosives are also red. As one psychologist put it, the more red objects we are surrounded by, the more dangerous our lives become.

On the other hand, red denotes danger because this highly visible color can quickly focus attention and help people make quick decisions.

Red is a symbol of special achievements

Red's association with bravery and courage makes it a color often used for national flags, badges, and achievement awards. For students and schoolchildren, it also symbolizes special achievements (a red diploma in school and institute).
