Hair after highlighting. The most fashionable types of hair highlights

Many women and girls who have artificial rather than natural hair color doubt whether it is possible to apply highlights to colored hair. Professionals unanimously declare: “If you want, then you can, and not only can, but you must!” It should be noted that in terms of implementation of the procedure there are some nuances. Therefore, if you want not to harm your hair and achieve the most harmonious effect, read the following information.

How often can you highlight colored strands?

How long after dyeing can I bleach? This question interests many girls who want to slightly refresh their image.

If you just recently dyed your hair, at least a couple of weeks should pass before the next dyeing, and preferably a month and a half. During this period, your curls will be able to restore their structure, become more elastic and prepared for bleaching.

During the recovery period, you will need to actively care for your hair - make nourishing masks based on oils, keratin, kefir, honey and egg yolk.

If you are going to highlight hair dyed with henna or basma, you should wait at least 6 months from the date of the previous dyeing. The fact is that natural dye is able to penetrate strongly into the structure of each hair. When lightening, the oxygenator comes into contact with the natural pigment, after which an unpleasant purple or green tint may form on the curls. So, we recommend that you wait and not take risks. You can find out more about highlighting with henna on our website.

Recommendations from stylists. If you dyed your curls with a tinted balm or tonic, if you want to add highlights to your dyed curls, wait a couple of days. You can easily remove the color from your hair with 5-6 shampoos.

No master will undertake highlighting of hair that has been previously dyed with henna. The fact is that crushed lavsonia leaves fill the voids of each hair, preventing the penetration of permanent dye. If you paint, the result may be quite unexpected: a green tint or uneven color distribution.

Important! If you want to achieve smooth transitions between red curls and highlighted ones, then combine several shades from the same color palette. Do not try to achieve contrast on your hair, but lighten it by 2-3 tones.

What dyes are suitable

When highlighting you can use:

  1. Cream dye “Mazhimesh” is based on wax, which does not spread at all when applied and is suitable for brittle and weakened hair.
  2. Ammonia-free paint (remember, it doesn’t last long on the strands).
  3. Special “Blonde” powder, which allows you to discolor strands by 5–8 tones (unfortunately, such a product cannot be called gentle).
  4. Paste “Platinum” from Garanier (designed for highlighting; it is a practically harmless dye and is suitable for colored hair).
  5. L'Oreal cream dyes have a viscous consistency that will not spread on the hair.

Proper care

Of course, if you have already dyed your hair and then decide to bleach it, you will need careful care. If you want your locks to be neat and not stick out like straw, then follow these tips:

  • dry your curls less with a hairdryer and do not resort to heat treatment with curlers, curling irons, or flat irons;
  • choose shampoos “For colored” and “For highlighted hair” that will not wash away the color too much, or try to purchase a product without lauryl sulfate;
  • Be sure to make restorative masks once a week, based on coconut, olive and burdock oils, as well as yolk, honey, sour cream;
  • after washing, rinse your curls with decoctions of herbs and roots (chamomile, nettle, burdock), which will provide shine;
  • trim your curls every month;
  • do not rub your hair with a towel in the desire to dry it quickly, and also do not comb your hair while it is still wet;
  • cover your hair with a hat in the summer to avoid the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation;
  • give up uncomfortable metal hairpins and tight elastic bands;
  • Braid your hair before going to bed to reduce damage to your curls;
  • Immediately after painting, apply a conditioner, because discoloration removes moisture.

Conditioner or conditioner should be used on slightly dry hair. This simple tip will allow them to become crumbly and acquire a beautiful shine.

Thus, highlighting curls that have previously been colored should be done with caution. The fact is that if the strands were exposed to perohydrol and ammonia, a repeated dyeing procedure can make them lifeless and brittle. But don’t despair too much, because following the technique, ammonia-free dye and proper care after the procedure will allow you to look even more attractive.

Highlighting hair (photo) in a fashionable color 2017 is a popular trend. Women all choose partial coloring, so the hair after the procedure becomes interesting, multifaceted and natural. What colors for highlighting are in fashion today? How to choose them? What technique is used to apply dye to hair? We learn about all the nuances of the procedure from professional stylists and hairdressers.

Fashionable hair colors of 2017

Women always take the choice of hair color responsibly, since success depends on the appearance of their hair. By changing your image, you can express your mood, individuality, and emphasize your character. It is also important that the color suits your type of appearance, otherwise you will end up with an awkward, spoiled image. Therefore, even in pursuit of fashion, listen to your common sense.

So what do stylists offer us?

  • Main trend of 2017– naturalness. Therefore, it is better to choose shades that are as close as possible to your natural hair color.

  • Blondes They are unlikely to ever go out of style, so pay attention to light shades of paint. By the way, it is with the help of highlighting that you can quickly and safely switch from dark hair to light hair.

  • Brunettes Also, to obtain a multifaceted color, highlighting should be done.

  • Playing with a variety of shades will give you the contrast that is trendy this season. Pay attention to California highlighting and other types, which we will talk about in more detail a little later.

  • If you want to become a red-haired beast, you can easily create a bright sunny look with the help of strands of orange, red and yellow colors.

  • Shades that are far from natural can be used as a last resort, for example, to create interesting look for Halloween or other costume party. But for this it is not necessary to do long-lasting salon highlighting. You can use regular tinted shampoo or fashionable hair chalks today.

As we can see, with the help of highlighting you can improve your natural hair color, making it deep and multifaceted. But what if you want to completely transform your hair? In this case, pay attention to the favorite colors of 2017:

  • all shades of light brown;

  • copper or copper-red;
  • beige, wheat and golden;
  • sand;
  • cappuccino, coffee, coffee with milk;
  • brass, blond;
  • black with glitter;
  • shades of red.

Advice! To make highlighting really look good on your hair, contact a master colorist rather than an ordinary hairdresser. He knows how to combine shades and combine them harmoniously with each other.

Choosing a fashionable hair color based on your appearance type

Unfortunately, it is not enough to just choose the color you like and paint yourself in it. If the shade does not suit your color type, it can play a cruel joke, for example, make you look older or highlight facial skin defects. Therefore, it is important to choose shades of strands that suit your color type. Let's find out together how it is.

  • Brown-eyed girls of winter color type, that is, for owners of dark hair, stylists recommend paying attention to deep brown shades, coffee or chocolate.

  • Girls of warm color type with brown eyes, that is, owners of light natural hair, hairdressers advise creating a playful image using red tones. A striking example of such highlighting is the hair of TV presenter Ksenia Borodina.

  • Green-eyed girls You need to choose the brightness of the shade in accordance with the brightness of your eyes. Linking to skin type is optional.

  • Beauties with blue eyes You should pay attention to ashen, milky, chocolate and silver shades.

From the above we can conclude that you can emphasize the natural beauty of your eyes and skin with the help of correctly selected shades for highlighting your hair.

Current types of highlighting 2017

Everyone knows that highlighting helps transform your appearance without drastic color interventions. But few people understand the difference between the types of this coloring technique. You will get a completely different effect depending on the width of the dyed strands, the number of shades used and the frequency of dye application.

Let's consider each type of highlighting separately.

  • Classical technique considered the most natural. It has remained at the peak of popularity since its invention. Suitable for women of any age. The strands are evenly lightened along the entire length using dyes until the desired shade is obtained. The thickness and width of the strands depends on the desired end result. Hair with strands dyed thinly and often looks more natural and elegant.

  • Venetian highlighting involves coloring the middle and ends of the strands with a smooth transition. In this case, the strands are colored randomly, and not consistently. Thanks to this, they become visually thicker and more magnificent. The technique is most suitable for black and brown hair, but fair-haired ladies also use it. The advantage is that there is no need to regularly adjust the coloring, since the artist immediately retreats a few centimeters from the roots. When they grow back, it looks natural and harmonious. You can dye short and long strands.

  • California highlighting has become popular recently. After the procedure, the hair is created with the effect of bleached hair in the sun of Californian beaches. Sun glare has become a characteristic feature of the technology.

  • American technology involves the use of several shades of paint. To get spectacular hair, stylists recommend using as many similar shades as possible. This way you will make your haircut as natural as possible. It will look rich and interesting.

  • French highlighting– a real trend of the season. It is considered the most gentle way to dye strands, since the dyes do not contain ammonia, but do contain beeswax, which restores the structure of curls. Beige, walnut, light brown, honey, milk, wheat, golden and light brown shades are ideal for technology.

  • Zonal highlighting differs by highlighting only the top strands in order to emphasize the crown or other individual curls.

  • Avant-garde and creative highlighting Suitable for bold girls who use bright, unusual colors to highlight individual strands. It is acceptable to dye hair with horizontal stripes or in the form of geometric shapes and animal prints. Extraordinary individuals who want to stand out from the crowd use this technique.

  • Balayage– the technique of coloring the ends emphasizes the silhouette of the haircut and looks great on hair of different lengths. The most popular this season is two-tone coloring, which uses natural shades of coffee, light brown, chocolate, beige, honey, nut, wheat, and amber. These shades combine harmoniously with each other and create an original composition on the haircut. The “flame effect” looks impressive and fashionable when strokes of red, red, golden or copper-honey color are made on the ends of dark hair.

  • Peek-a-Boo technique involves the use of bright and dark shades at the bottom of the haircut. Brave girls choose bright colors. But even the usual shades should contrast with the top layer of hair.

All proposed types of highlighting are suitable for transforming dark and light hair. The main thing is to apply the paint correctly and let it sit for a certain time. A professional hairdresser can easily handle this.

Root highlighting should be highlighted separately. Masters resort to it to correct already grown hair. In Californian and Venetian dyeing of individual strands, regrown hair is not as noticeable as in the classic one. The defect must be corrected in a timely manner so as not to look sloppy.

Advice! For highlighting correction, go to the same specialist who initially performed the procedure. Because every hairdresser has his own unique style.

Features of coloring short hair

Women with short hair often complain that they cannot create an original hairstyle that will help them stand out from the crowd due to the length of their curls. But in fact, only insecure people who are afraid of various experiments with their appearance say this. Every short haircut can be radically transformed with the help of fashionable highlights. This coloring technique not only makes the image interesting and original, but also improves the appearance of the hair, visually adding additional volume to it.

The most suitable techniques for highlighting short hair are Californian, French and balayage. Let's consider options for different short haircuts:

  • for a hat-shaped bob classic highlighting is suitable, with lightening of the strands;

  • on an extended square classical technique also looks good;
  • asymmetrical bob looks interesting with contrasting bright strands, for example, red;
  • pixie haircut chosen by bold, extraordinary individuals, so it is decorated with unusual green, lilac or red colors;

  • You can add volume to a bob haircut using technology Peek-a-boo;

The two-tone highlighting technique is designed especially for short strands. During its reproduction, the master uses two shades of the same range, which contrast with the main color of the hair. The color purple looks bold and daring.

Advice! We remind you that this year the demand for naturalness and naturalness is growing, so strong contrast on curls is not relevant now.

How to choose colors for highlighting?

Before you do highlighting, discuss with the artist what colors you want to use. He can recommend the best option or use your idea.

  • On blonde hair highlighting looks feminine and beautiful. Avoid intense shades to avoid creating a vulgar look. Choose a paint that is several shades lighter than your natural color. Ash blondes are better off choosing shades from a cool palette, while golden locks will be enlivened by honey color. Natural blondes should pay attention to nutty and caramel tones.

  • On brown hair Blonde strands also look good. They enliven and refresh the image, making a mature woman visually younger. But since light brown is an intermediate color, dark paint also looks great on it. You will be transformed by red, honey, red and golden shades.

  • On dark hair, as a rule, chestnut, light and dark strands look harmonious. It all depends on what image you want to create.

  • Highlighting black hair looks unusual and extravagant. Stylists do not recommend using this technique on your own if you do not have experience in color. Most often, on black hair, light is achieved using an oxidizing agent, so an unexpected result may result.

  • Enhance the beauty of red hair shades of red and blue-black will help with highlighting. The technique of burning out in the sun also looks quite original and unusual.

Advice! If during the procedure you feel a burning sensation on your scalp, interrupt the process immediately. This means that the dyes are too concentrated and can cause damage to the hair.

Highlighting on dark hair is a great way to liven up your hair color, add zest to your look, and without ruining your hair.

SEE ALSO: Let's figure out what highlighting dark hair is, what techniques and types there are, and also analyze the mistakes when choosing highlighting for dark hair. Highlighting on dark hair- This is a method of dyeing individual strands to give the color versatility and depth. The shades are selected in such a way as to highlight the natural hair color and at the same time add volume and liveliness to the hairstyle.

The highlighting procedure appeared more than 10 years ago, but only recently has it become available to brunettes. This became possible thanks to the advent of innovative dyeing techniques and pigments that make it possible to give dark hair beautiful shades.

Shades that are ideal for highlighting on dark hair:

- cognac;
- copper;
- chocolate;
- coffee;
- caramel;
- nuts;
- honey.

The shade of the strands should be chosen depending on the original hair color. In order to get the effect of a beautiful expensive hair color, the strands should not be contrasting and stand out from the main mass of the hair. Differences of 1-2 tones are enough to make the hair look uniform, but at the same time new shades create depth of color.

Classic highlights for dark hair

Uniform coloring of strands along the entire length from roots to ends is called classic highlighting; this technique does not lose popularity from year to year and is a top procedure in a good salon.

For dark-haired girls, there are some nuances of highlighting using the classical technique:

1. The hair strands taken are very small (2-5 mm) so as not to get too contrasting a result.
2. After highlighting, you often have to resort to a tinting procedure to give the bleached strands a fashionable shade.
3. It is better to tint strands in muted shades as close as possible to the natural hair color.

Zonal highlighting on dark hair - a gentle coloring technique

When conducting zonal highlighting Only the top part of the hair is dyed, the rest of the hair remains untouched.

This coloring technology is suitable for girls with thin, not thick hair or for girls who doubt whether highlighting is suitable for them.

Advantages of zonal highlighting for dark hair:

The hair is practically not damaged, since the upper zone is dyed (for example, when carrying out classic highlighting, approximately 50% of the hair is dyed).
- you can get the effect of sun-bleached hair;
- if highlighting is not to your liking or does not suit you, it will be easier to return your original color;
If you wish, you can just lighten the strands framing your face a little, this will undoubtedly refresh the image.

Of the minuses It can be noted that you will have to part your hair in one place so that the bleached strands are visible.

Bronzing for dark hair

This technique is also called multi-color highlighting. When dyeing, several shades close to the main hair color are selected, usually these are nut, honey, caramel, chocolate, and coffee shades.

Thanks to BRONDE coloring the effect of soft iridescence of the hair is created; if the bronding procedure for dark hair is performed correctly, then you will get your own unique shade.

The peculiarity is that it does not have clear boundaries, the color is shaded as much as possible and selected within 2-3 related tones.

At first glance, you may not notice that your hair has been dyed in several tones, but at the same time the image will become more impressive, the hair color will be more expensive, and your face will be more expressive.

Ombre for dark hair

A hit of the 2015-2016 season, of course. There are different techniques and types of ombre, you can choose the one that suits you.
Ombre is an excellent option for those who want to keep their hair healthy; it can be done only at the ends, and the coloring can be renewed much less frequently than, for example, classic highlighting.

This may be a slightly perceptible shift of color towards the tips or, on the contrary, a contrasting transition from dark to light shade. The classic version of ombre is two-tone hair coloring with a smooth transition of color from dark to light. There is also a similar dyeing technique, thanks to which the effect of sun-bleached hair is achieved.

If you do not want drastic changes in appearance, then choose a shade as close as possible to your color, the transition will be soft, but this change will certainly refresh your hairstyle.

Ombre looks very impressive on dark hair with light ends, but be prepared that this is a rather aggressive hair procedure.

For extraordinary and brave girls, bright Ombre is suitable; they look great on dark hair. red, ginger, eggplant shades for ombre.

Coloring for dark hair

Coloring is the dyeing of individual strands of hair in different shades (usually 2-3 shades are selected, but some stylists do it chic with a large number of colors.

The difference between coloring and highlighting is that when coloring, individual strands are lightened and then dyed to the desired shade, while when highlighting, the strands simply acquire a lighter shade.

Coloring for dark hair has a wide range of shades and colors, they can be either natural (chestnut, cognac, honey, dark chocolate) or bright (red, red, purple, etc.).

Highlighting on black hair

When highlighting black hair, you need to be very careful, because you can not only ruin your hair, but also make the image vulgar.

Highlighting black hair should be done by an experienced colorist; shades should be chosen in a cold range; bronze and currant colors, coffee, copper, and dark brown shades are suitable.

On black hair, you can perform a bronzing procedure, thanks to this you can create an interesting shade of hair with different tints of color.

Blonding - or how to use highlighting to turn from a brunette to a blonde

The purpose of bleaching is a gradual transition from dark to light hair color, while the hair has a beautiful uneven shade, in contrast to complete lightening of the hair.

You need to be prepared for the fact that bleaching dark hair is a long and complex process; the desired effect can be obtained only after several lightening and toning procedures. The advantage of this procedure is that you can choose any shade in the light range (wheat, beige, golden, platinum , and etc.)

The downside is that it’s a lot of stress for your hair, it can suffer significantly, and your hair may become brittle and dry.

California highlighting

Another gentle technique for coloring dark hair is. This method of highlighting does not involve use, so it is ideal for dark hair.

The peculiarity of Californian (Venetian) highlighting is that the hair at the roots remains dark, and along the length there is a soft transition of color to a lighter one.

Partial highlights on dark hair

The name speaks for itself; with partial highlighting, only individual strands or ends of the hair can be colored to create the effect of flames.

Partial highlighting is suitable for girls who want to refresh their hair without radical changes; contrasting strands can add zest to the look. Partial highlighting is also done on the strands framing the face, especially for dark-haired girls this option looks impressive.

Salt and pepper - a fashion trend in coloring

This technique is controversial for many, but in 2016 stylists paid special attention to it. It requires special professionalism from the colorist, because the main thing is not to get the effect of gray hair.

If you have ashy dark brown hair, then this type of highlighting may be suitable for you.

It is best to dye your hair no earlier than 1-2 months after highlighting. If it is impossible to wait that long, you can dye your hair after 2-3 weeks, having previously provided thorough nutrition with masks. Using dye the day after highlighting can greatly damage the hair structure and dry out the scalp. Thin and weakened strands can break off along the entire length.

Since the highlighting process removes pigment and changes the structure of the hair, it is extremely important to use special care before and after the coloring procedure.

What should I use for this?

There are different types of dyes.

  • Permanent dyes containing ammonia allow you to get long-lasting color and completely cover gray hair. The color changes due to changes in the structure of the hair and the penetration of the coloring pigment inside.
  • Tinting dyes do not contain ammonia. The dye envelops the hair from the outside without changing the structure. Allows you to dye your curls “tone on tone”, adding shine and brightness to the original hair color. They do not cover gray hair or lighten it.

How to prepare?

  • Use a line of care products for colored, highlighted or damaged hair.
  • Be sure to apply a balm or mask every time after washing your hair (balm after each hair wash, mask - 2-3 times a week).
  • Gently untangle wet hair with your hands, only then comb with a wide-tooth comb.
  • Avoid thermal effects on damaged hair (hair dryers, straightening irons, curling irons).
  • In summer, protect your hair from UV radiation (wear a hat or use balms and sprays with UV protection)
  • In winter, hide your hair under a hat and clothes.

How to choose a dye so as not to injure your curls?

Hair damaged after highlighting needs gentle coloring with professional products. Permanent dyes will help completely paint over unsuccessful highlighting, for example:

  1. Schwarzkopf Igora Royal.
  2. Estel De Luxe.
  3. Constant Delight Trionfo.

In a higher price category, you can pay attention to the permanent Wella Koleston Perfect paint or the ammonia-free Wella Color Touch. For a more gentle effect, you can use oil-based dyes, for example, Constant Delight Olio Colorante.

At home it is possible to use light tinting agents. For example, Igora Expert Mousse tinting mousse (will retain the shade up to 8 times of washing), Estel NewTone tinting mask.

How to choose a color?

What should you pay attention to?

When choosing which color to dye your hair, it is important to pay attention to the tone that is closest to your base hair tone.

When are dark shades better and when are light shades better?

If you are naturally blonde, that is, the main tone is at level 8 (sometimes 7), it is advisable to choose light shades for coloring.

Brunettes of level 5-6 and below will find it easier to wear dark colors.

Which tone is better?

To get a reliable result of coloring highlights, you need to either choose fairly dark tones of level 5-6, or bleach uncolored strands. In other cases, you need to be prepared for the fact that toning from highlighted strands will quickly wash off.

Procedure

How to paint properly?

  • Since highlighted strands differ significantly in color from the main tone of the hair, the main rule for coloring after highlighting is to create as uniform a base as possible. This problem is solved by repeated frequent fine root highlighting of undyed strands. Exposure time is 30-40 minutes.
  • After washing off the blonding composition, you need to tint it with level 9-10 paint with the addition of lilac and blue correctors (to remove yellowness) to go blonde, or level 5-6 to turn it brunette. It is necessary to use a 1.5% oxidizing agent. Leave on hair for 20-30 minutes.
  • Wash off the paint and use a caring balm after coloring.

How to even out the color?

The following formula will help you get an even, monochromatic hair color: creating a monochromatic base + subsequent tinting.

It is advisable to repeat the tinting procedure every month and a half. When it is washed off, highlights from the highlighting will remain on the hair.

Over time, when the strands grow, this part can be cut off and an even tone along the entire length can be achieved. Permanent dye will last longer on previously highlighted hair, however, they will be more injured.

How long do you keep the composition on your hair?

To ensure that not a trace remains of the highlighting, and at the same time not to burn the hair, when dyeing with permanent dyes, the exposure time on the hair is 30-40 minutes, when using ammonia-free tinting paint - 20-25 minutes.

How to apply and rinse off correctly?

  1. On the day of coloring, do not wash your hair.
  2. Apply the dye to dry hair.
  3. To prepare the coloring mixture, you cannot use metal utensils (it contributes to the oxidation of the pigment), only plastic or ceramic ones.
  4. The coloring mixture must be used immediately after preparation (within 40 minutes).
  5. After the required time has passed, the dye must be lathered on the hair with wet hands and then rinsed thoroughly with running water.
  6. Be sure to apply special care after coloring (balm, mask).

How to avoid mistakes?

If you don’t want to paint over your highlights in the salon, you need to pay attention to the following points:

  • It is very important to consult with a professional hairdresser who, seeing the color and condition of the hair, will be able to advise which paint to choose and how to dye it.
  • It is worth buying only professional dyes that will provide not only a beautiful color, but also proper hair care.
  • Strictly follow the dosage when preparing the dye mixture, control the time the dye is left on the hair.
  • Hair that has been highlighted and then dyed can become brittle and dull. Therefore, it is extremely important not to skimp on quality care after coloring (shampoo, conditioner, mask, leave-in hair spray - the minimum care kit).

The procedure for coloring highlighted hair is quite complicated even for experienced hairdressers. That's why To get a reliable result, it is better to have the procedure done by a professional. At home, it is only possible to use light tinting agents that give short-term results.

When highlighting, the natural hair color serves as the basis on which individual strands are dyed a light color (if several shades are used, the procedure is called coloring).

After highlighting, it is advisable to grow your hair so that the colored strands can be cut off. You won't be able to dye your hair evenly the first time. If you need to quickly repaint, you will need to even out the shade, and only then start painting. Before you start dyeing, you need to clarify what colors you can dye your hair after highlighting.

Toning

First of all, you should remember that you can apply any coloring agents after highlighting only after some time (when the hair has recovered after the dyeing procedure). To gradually even out the color, you can use a tonic. It is worth considering that:

  • A light tint and gradual leveling of color will be achieved by using special tonic shampoos. Depending on how long you leave them on your hair, different color intensities will appear.
  • A stronger effect can be obtained by using special tonics (ammonia-free products). First, the tonic is applied to individual strands (usually those that have been bleached), and after a while to all hair.
  • The tinting procedure should be repeated 3-5 times to achieve a more uniform shade and smooth out the difference between the colors of the strands after highlighting. After this, you can repaint it with regular permanent paint.

Bleaching

To even out the shade of your hair, you can not only tint it, but also bleach it. Please note that:

  • Castor, olive and sunflower oil are mixed in equal proportions, heated and evenly applied to the hair. The head is wrapped in film and a towel, and after half an hour the hair should be washed. This procedure can be repeated many times daily until the desired effect is achieved.
  • You can buy ready-made acid remover. It contains ingredients with a medium level of aggressiveness to the hair, and in 1 dose provides lightening by 2 tones. You can use this wash weekly. As a natural, harmless substitute, it is better to use kefir on a daily basis.
  • Clarifier is the most aggressive agent. You can use it no earlier than 2 weeks after highlighting, and no more often than twice a month. The effect is lightening by 4 tones in 1 session. Be sure to restore, nourish and moisturize your hair between treatments.

Permanent paint can be used no earlier than 2 weeks after bleaching.

Repainting

When repainting your hair after highlighting, you must take into account the following:

  • The use of very light shades is undesirable, since such dyes contain aggressive substances that dry out the hair and damage its structure.
  • You should not choose a dark shade - it will poorly paint over strands that were previously highlighted.
  • The best option is a shade 2-3 shades lighter than your natural hair color.
  • You cannot dye your hair with henna or basma after highlighting: you may end up with a green or purple tint that will be difficult to remove.
