DIY rose from A4 paper. DIY paper roses - simple ways to make a paper flower and bouquet (115 photos)

Huge flowers in the interior are an excellent solution for a fairy-tale performance, a birthday party for a young princess, or just a fun photo shoot with friends. Don't put it off until tomorrow, start making roses from corrugated paper right now!

You will need:

  • corrugated paper (pink and green),
  • wire or long thin sticks for stems,
  • green floral ribbon,
  • scissors.

Before you start, make a heart template for the rose petals. Choose the size at your discretion.

1. Transfer the template onto corrugated paper. To speed up the process, fold it several times, securing it in the corners with a stapler, attach the template and cut out the petals. You will need about 10 of these hearts.

Need to know! When cutting out petals, keep in mind that the corrugation should go along the petal so that it can easily be stretched in width.

2. Gently stretch each heart as shown in the photo.

3. Wrap the wire with floral tape.

4. Screw the top parts of the hearts onto the handle.

5. Now wrap one of the petals around the rose stem and secure it with tape. Do the same with the other petals. Make sure that each petal is securely fixed.

6. To make leaves, take several pieces of wire, wrap it with tape and attach pre-cut corrugated leaves.

7. Make a sepal from green corrugated paper and attach it to the flower. Do the same with the rose leaves.

A luxurious rose is ready to become the highlight of the interior, and maybe even the star of a photo shoot.

Corrugated paper roses in shabby chic style

Little cute details always make a home a little warmer and cozier. And the queen of flowers in the shabby chic style won’t hurt anyone. The main thing is to choose gentle, light colors characteristic of this style.

By the way! The shabby chic style was invented by the Englishwoman Rachel Ashwell in the 1980s. She bought old furniture and decorated it to her liking, creating the appearance of antiquity. Soon, the pastel-colored furniture restored by the woman became mega-popular. This is how the romantic style of shabby chic appeared, which translated means “shabby shine.”

You will need:

  • corrugated paper in pink and green colors,
  • tape,
  • wire.

1. Cut a long strip from pink corrugated paper. To speed up the process, you don’t have to unroll the roll.

2. Give the rose curly edges. To do this, fold the corner of the paper twice and twist it like a candy.

Still have questions? The video will reveal the secrets of making a shaped edge for roses from corrugated paper.

4. Cut out a thin long strip of green paper and wrap it around the stem (wire). Cut out a leaf from the light green leaf and also attach it to the stem.

Rose is ready!

Make a lot of delicate roses from corrugated paper and place them in a basket on a table by the window. It will be very beautiful!

Beautiful rose made of corrugated paper

Even one rose can add bright colors to a boring interior. Standing alone in a vase, it will bring the smell of the morning garden into the house and bring back long-forgotten memories...

You will need:

  • corrugated paper (green and two shades of pink),
  • wire,
  • glue gun,
  • round pencil,
  • tape,
  • rubber band for banknotes,
  • artificial rose leaves.

1. First, make the bud (middle) of the flower: cut a rectangular pink strip, fold it in half, trim the corners.

2. Carefully stretch the upper edge of the petal and wrap it into the bud. Insert the wire stem. Secure with a rubber band for banknotes. You can hide a candy in the middle of the flower. The bud is ready!

3. Fold the deep pink paper several times to create a rectangle larger than the previous corrugated strip. Cut out 4 petals, stretch the middle of each, and curl the top with a pencil.

4. Collect a flower. But that is not all.

5. Cut out four petals in the shape of hearts from soft pink paper. Stretch and twist similarly to the previous ones. Wrap the flower and secure with tape. I'm sure you will succeed!

6. Now make a sepal, secure it with floral tape at the bottom edge of the flower and wrap it around the entire stem. If you don’t have tape at hand, use a long strip of green corrugated paper.

Wrap purchased rose leaves around the stem. That's all - the charming queen of flowers is ready to win the hearts of your guests.

Pot of roses made of painted paper

This pot can be used not only to decorate a room, but also to store small items.

It can also be a wonderful and unusual handmade gift.

You will need:

  • 2 sheets of standard A4 format
  • Watercolor paint pink and green
  • Thermal gun
  • Scissors
  • Flower pot with lid
  • Beautiful wrapping paper

Execution order:

  • Dilute pink watercolor paint with water (1:5) and cover a sheet of white paper with this mixture on both sides.
  • Slightly crumple the wet sheet, then straighten it on the table and leave to dry. After drying, wrinkles and paint stains will create a beautiful “velvety” effect.
  • Cut a strip approximately 15x6 cm in size from the sheet. Make shallow waves on one of its longitudinal sides.
  • Roll the strip into a roll and secure the end with hot glue to form the core of the flower.
  • Cut out several petals of different sizes and glue them around the roll - first smaller ones, then larger ones.
  • Continue adding petals until the flower reaches the desired size.
  • Slightly turn the ends of the petals outward.
  • Paint another piece of paper with diluted green paint and cut out the leaves.
  • Secure 1-2 leaves at the base of the flower.
  • You can use a regular flower pot as the basis for a bouquet without stems. Cover it with beautiful colored paper inside and out, select a plastic cover of a suitable size and attach flowers to it.

Lesson #2: Coffee filter roses

Not an ordinary version of a rose made from scrap material: coffee filters, very easy to make. Also pay attention to the lesson “Daffodils from cupcake baskets”, which you will find in a series of master classes on how to make various flowers with your own hands.

For this project you will need:

  • Coffee filters
  • Food paints
  • Floral and regular tape
  • Wire stems from artificial flowers

Operating procedure:

  1. For each flower you will need 3 filters. Fold each one in half.
  2. For the center of the flower, take one of the folded filters and fold it in half again.
  3. Roll the center filter into a cone.
  4. Wrap the remaining two filters around the cone without pressing them.

  1. Pinch the base of the flower with your fingers and secure it with tape.
  2. Fluff the “petals” and center of the rose.
  3. Dilute 1-2 drops of food coloring in 2 tbsp. water (if you want a bright color, dilute 3-4 drops).
  4. Dip the ends of the petals into the liquid and allow the paper to absorb the colored water, then lay the flowers out to dry. If the color is not bright enough, dip the flowers in the diluted paint again.

  1. Secure the roses to the ends of the wire stems by wrapping the ends of the wire around the base of the flower.

  1. Wrap the flower bases and stem with green floral tape.

Roses are ready!

Master class No. 3

This version of a rose made from tissue paper is very simple to make. A bouquet of such roses will look realistic and elegant in the interior.

  • Carefully crumple a piece of A4 size tissue paper

  • Unfold the sheet, fold it in half lengthwise and cut it into two halves. Fold each half in half lengthwise.

  • Unfold the strip so that the fold is at the top. Starting from the bottom right corner, roll it into a roll, pressing the bottom lightly and leaving the top free.

  • As you roll, lower the sheet slightly so that each subsequent row of “petals” is slightly lower than the previous one.

  • Prepare the stem and leaves from colored paper.

  • When the flower is ready, insert a wooden or plastic twig (stem) into its base and secure it with tape wrapped tightly over the flower. Wrap the stem with green tape or paper.

Step by step lesson #4

Another tissue paper rose. It will take a little more time to make, but as a result you will get a very beautiful rose from individual petals.

You will need:

  • 6-7 sheets of tissue paper
  • stems from artificial flowers or wire
  • ready-made “stamens” or beads on wire

Operating procedure:

  • Stack 6-7 sheets of tissue paper on top of each other and cut out round “petals” of 4 sizes from this stack. You should have about 25 separate circles in total.
  • Fold each circle into quarters to determine the center. Punch a hole at this point.
  • Place a bead on a thin wire or take a ready-made “stamen” (you can buy them at craft stores) and thread it through the hole in the center of one of the smallest circles.
  • Squeeze the paper around the stamen and secure it by wrapping a piece of tape around the wire just below the circle.
  • In the same way, place on the wire and secure a few more larger circles, giving the flower a shape.

Lesson #5: Spiral Roses

Here is a simple version of a small rose for a decorative composition or greeting card.

Materials:

  • Colored square or any paper 10x10 cm
  • Thermal gun
  • Double-sided tape

Execution order:

  • Draw a spiral inside a 10x10 cm square of paper

  • Cut out the spiral along the outlined lines.

  • Roll the spiral starting from the outer edge.

  • Place some hot glue on the center circle, which has now become the base of the flower, and secure the rose. If necessary, during folding, pieces of double-sided tape can be inserted between the layers.

  • Having made several of these roses, you can decorate a decorative composition from dry branches.

A rose can also be made using the origami technique. How to do this is shown in the video tutorial:

Watercolor paper roses

Watercolor paper is quite expensive compared to regular or even glossy paper, but it produces the most beautiful flowers with iridescent shades.

Operating procedure:

  1. Lay the sheet out on the table, paint it and let it dry.
  2. Cut the sheets into strips approximately 7.5, 5 and 2.5 cm wide.

  1. Cut the strips into squares with the appropriate side (7.5, 5 and 2.5 cm).
  2. After placing several squares on top of each other, fold them in half and round all the corners.
  3. Then separate the resulting pieces and roll each of them into a cylinder.
  4. Repeat steps 2-5 with the remaining sheets of paper.
  5. The flower is assembled as follows:

  • Unfold one of the cylinders and apply a little glue to one of the bottom corners. Then roll it up again and let the glue set. This will be the core of your flower.
  • To make the first petal, unroll the next cylinder and apply glue to both bottom corners. Wrap the blank around the core of the flower.
  • Continue adding petals until you have the right size rose. Straighten the outer edges of the blanks as you work, giving the flower a beautiful, soft outline.

Vintage style soft paper roses (with stem)

An unusual bouquet of such roses will decorate a stylish interior or be suitable for an unusual photo shoot or fancy dress.

You will need:

  • Soft paper, such as newspaper or book sheets
  • Ribbon 1.5x10cm to match the flower
  • Thermal gun
  • Wire 37-38 cm long

Operating procedure:

  • Cut petals into at least 5 different sizes - from 2cm to 7cm in diameter. For each flower you will need 4 petals of each type. The more there are, the more voluminous the rose.

  • Pinch approximately halfway down the flat side of each petal and fold the rounded side outward to give it a natural shape.

  • Cut another petal about 6cm long with a rounded end. Roll it into a tube, similar to the core of a rose, and insert a wire stem into it (if desired, it can be pre-painted or covered with green paper). Secure the stem at the base of the tube with a drop of hot glue.

  • Secure the petals, starting with the smallest ones. To do this, apply a drop of glue to the bottom of the first piece, about 5 mm from the edge, and wrap it around the stem at the base of the core. Glue the next piece slightly overlapping, and so on, moving in a circle and increasing the size of the petals with each row. When gluing the largest petals, lightly scrunch their bases to create the effect of soft folds, like on a real flower.

  • After gluing all the petals, you need to hide their lower edges and the glue line. To do this, take a pre-prepared ribbon and wrap it around the base of the flower, after dripping glue onto it. Cut off the excess fabric and make corners at the ends of the glued piece of tape. Then glue another piece of tape, with the ends pointing in the opposite direction.

  • Vintage rose is ready!

Paper flowers are an original decoration and a cute addition to any gift. Fans of origami know many ways to create stunning bouquets from simple sheets of paper. But not everyone will be able or willing to understand complex schemes. Therefore, below we will show simple ways to make a spectacular paper rose using the bare minimum of items.

Simple rose made of colored paper

To work you will need:

  • dry twigs of deciduous trees;
  • glue for paper (PVA is best);
  • colored paper, preferably double-sided, of sufficient thickness;
  • scissors;
  • pencil.

How to make a paper rose using this pattern? You need to cut out a circle from red, white or pink colored paper. Perfect evenness is not required - on the contrary, it is better not to use a compass. A spiral is drawn on the circle, and the circle is then cut along the spiral.

You will get a paper strip that needs to be rolled up. It wraps from the outer end. It is better to form the bud slowly; you can use glue so that it does not crumble.

The finished rose is pierced in the middle and placed on a twig. To make the craft look more elegant, you can wrap the branches in green paper in advance. Thus, at home you can make even a small bouquet of roses.

Realistic lush rose made of corrugated paper

For this job you need:

  • corrugated paper;
  • adhesive tape (known among florists as tape);
  • glue;
  • scissors;
  • wire.

To secure the petals well, it is best to find type tape (green). It is a narrow strip with weak adhesive ability, often used to create paper bouquets.

Making such a rose from corrugated paper is quite simple. First, as in the picture, cut out 14 - 17 heart-shaped petals, as well as 4 - 6 smaller petals that have a droplet shape. It is important to ensure that the scissors go in the direction of the paper strips, and not against them.

Wrap the thick wire with tape. If such tape is not found, you can cut a thin 13 mm strip from corrugated paper and lightly coat it with glue.

Gently stretch each of the petals, from the middle to its edges. Bend the edges with a pencil or toothpick.

Stretching the leaves:

We bend the edges of the leaves like this:

The result will be leaves of two types:

Start assembling the flower - start by attaching the teardrop-shaped petals.

Attach each of them to the stem with tape.

Then it will be the turn of larger heart-shaped petals.

The last thing attached around the base of the flower is the sepal.

Attach flower leaves to separate pieces of wire:

Then, from the base of the leaf, we wrap the entire piece of wire with green tape so that it looks like a stem.

We attach the stems with leaves to the main stem with the bud.

You can bend the stems and leaves a little for realism and your rose is ready.

Decorative rose from a napkin

If you want to surprise someone, but you not only don’t have paper, but also extra time, then your option is to make a rose from a napkin. A simple rose according to this pattern is made without glue. The course of action is as follows:

  1. Unfold the napkin and hold it in front of you. In a straight line you need to bend a few centimeters from the top.
  2. The upper left corner should be held between the middle and index fingers.
  3. Take the upper right corner with your right hand. Now you need to, using your right hand away from you, wrap the napkin around two fingers on your left hand. If you look from above, you need to wrap it counterclockwise. The folded edge will be on the outside.
  4. Finish wrapping the napkin when you get a tube. Now the corner on the outer edge of the napkin must be folded to form a triangle. This will be the outermost petal.
  5. With your right hand you need to squeeze the napkin under your middle and index fingers (one-fourth of the length). Above the place of pinching there will be the rose itself from the napkin (its bud), and below it will be the stem with the leaf.
  6. Under the point of compression, you need to twist the napkin to make a stem. Halfway through twisting, you need to pull out the free end and make a leaf out of it, and then twist again.

In this video you can take a closer look at the diagram.

Today we want to show you how easy, quick and simple it is to make paper roses with your own hands! A rose made from paper with your own hands can be a wonderful decoration for a vase, a fake decoration, or an excellent decoration for some kind of gift.

FOR WORK WE WILL NEED:

  • Colored paper
  • PVA glue
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Toothpick or skewer

So let's get to work - !

DO-IT-VOLUME PAPER ROSES

I would like to note that these voluminous paper roses are made very simply and, most importantly, from minimal materials! Basic materials - A4 sheet and skewer (toothpick). And this set of items can be found in absolutely every home! Or, as an option, you can replace the A4 sheet with a regular newspaper. I don’t think this will have any effect on the result! Quite the opposite - the result will improve! 🙂 If you make your own paper rose from newspaper, then we will be very glad to see your opinion in the comments! What came of it! :))

In order to make a paper rose, we take colored paper, mark 4 equal 10*10 squares on it and cut them out.

HOW TO FOLD A ROSE FROM PAPER

By the way, your DIY paper rose can increase significantly in size if you take a larger sheet, for example, A3 size.

We will fold the finished squares diagonally 3 times.

The required triangle size is shown below right.

From the folded side towards the “fan” direction, draw a leaf with a pencil and carefully cut it out.

In order to make our own paper rose neat and lush, we apply the finished stencil to the rest of the triangles and cut out our leaves.

PAPER ROSES STEP BY STEP

We should get 4 identical petals.

PREPARATION OF BUDS

In order to make roses from colored paper with our own hands, we unfold our leaves. Each flower should have 8 petals. It is very important. Now our task is to remove 1 extra petal from each blank.

FIRST FLOWER

We need to remove 1 petal from the first flower. BUT! Don't rush to cut it out completely. We cut the petal from one side to the very middle. On the other hand, we simply cut off a part of it diagonally so that when gluing a paper rose with our own hands, we will have a tail with which we will connect our flower.

SECOND FLOWER

Now we need to remove 2 petals. That is, from the second flower we completely remove 1 petal (even) and cut the second one so that the sole remains for gluing. Set the flat petal aside; we will need it later.

THIRD FLOWER

We need to remove 3 petals from the third flower. That is, 2 whole petals and 1 as a corner for gluing. We set aside 2 cut out whole petals, they will also be useful to us in the future.

FOURTH AND FIFTH FLOWER FROM THE LAST BLANK

The last flower is cut differently. On one side we cut the petal to the middle.

We count so that we have 4 petals on one side and 3 on the other. And divide the remaining petal in half. As a result, you should get 2 parts with 4 petals and with 3. For the half petals, I cut a semicircle to also create a step for gluing the paper rose.

THIS IS WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN!

As a result, we should have details of 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 flowers and 3 separate petals. Our DIY paper rose is almost ready! 🙂

ROSE FROM PAPER WITH YOUR OWN HANDS - ASSEMBLY OF PARTS

At this stage we need to twist each petal using scissors. You can use any other method of yours if you see fit. By the way, I suggest leaving one single petal untwisted, since when glued to a toothpick or skewer, it twists heavily into the base of our paper rose.

ROSE FROM PAPER WITH YOUR OWN HANDS - GLUEING THE BLANKS

Everything is very simple here, we drip PVA glue onto the “tail” that we left earlier and glue our paper rose together.

ROSE FROM PAPER WITH YOUR OWN HANDS - FORMING A BUD

This is what we get. Now we will begin to form a three-dimensional paper rose.

HOW TO FOLD A ROSE FROM PAPER

I usually first apply the dry petal to the toothpick and twist it so that it will stick. As a result, it already slightly takes the shape I need and sticks to the toothpick much faster without creases. So, take our toothpick or skewer, grease the tip on which our rose will be held and apply PVA glue to the base of our petal. Afterwards, carefully twist it onto a toothpick.

By the way, the only colored paper I had at home was very thin sheets for printing. And when applying PVA glue, they became wet and torn very quickly. Therefore, after gluing each element of the paper rose, I thoroughly dried everything with a hairdryer.

Using the same principle, glue the second petal. We dry it with a hairdryer if necessary.

And the third! 🙂 By the way, the formation of the core is the most difficult thing you can find in this work. Further - easier!

ASSEMBLY A ROSE FROM THE OTHER PARTS

Now lightly grease the base with PVA glue.

And carefully string the blank of three petals. We carefully plant our flower, grease it again with PVA glue and carefully put on the flower of four petals. We continue until the very end and, if necessary, dry everything with a hairdryer.

For further work I only needed rose flowers. Therefore, if you need to, you can continue decorating the paper rose with your own hands. Decorate the base, cover the skewer with green paper and thereby form a trunk, glue the green petals.

THIS IS THE PAPER ROSE WE CREATE WITH OUR OWN HANDS

We should end up with such beauty! 🙂

YOUR OWN HANDS PAPER ROSE IS READY!

The rose is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful flowers in the world, which is why it is very popular.

A paper rose is no less attractive than a real one, and the fact that you make a beautiful flower with your own hands, makes the rose even more meaningful to the person you give it to.

Learn making a paper rose is not difficult. There are many ways to do this, and you will learn about several from us.

How to make a rose with your own hands. The easiest way.

You will spend very little time on the rose in this example, but will get a lot of pleasure. Such flowers can be used as decor in an apartment or as a symbolic handmade gift.

You will need:

Thick paper

Scissors

Beautiful vase

1. From thick paper you need to cut out a square measuring 10x10 cm.

*The color of the paper depends on the color of the rose you will be making.

2. Draw a spiral on the square (see picture).

3. Cut out the drawn spiral.

4. Start rolling the paper spiral starting from the outer end.

5. Screw the bud tightly to the end and glue the inner end to strengthen the structure.

The rose is ready, and you need to start making leaves for it.

6. Cut out a leaf and glue it to the rose.

To make the rose look more chic, place it in a beautiful vase.

How to make a paper rose. Method II

You will need:

Thick paper

Scissors

Glue (adhesive tape)

1. Fold a sheet of A4 paper in half, and then in half again.

2. Now you need to cut the sheet into 4 strips. To do this, unfold it and cut along the folds.

3. Use duct tape to hold the cut strips end-to-end together, creating one long strip.

4. The strip that you have obtained needs to be twisted so that you get a rod-trunk (see picture).

5. You now need to fold the remaining part of the paper in half, while slowly turning it around the center (see picture). Continue wrapping and gathering layers until you have a rose.

*If you wish, you can paint the rose with your favorite color if you made it from white paper.

How to make a rose. Method III

You will need:

Crepe paper (red and green)

Stick, skewer or wire

Pencil

Scissors

Floral tape or glue

1. Make a heart shaped template. The size of the template depends on the size of the flower. In this example, the height of the heart is 15 cm.

2. Cut out 5-6 hearts according to the template.

3. Making a stem. Prepare 3 wires or a stick and wrap it with floral tape.

* Floral tape can be replaced with glue.

4. Making petals. Gently stretch the paper wide. Wrap the top edge of the heart around the round handle.

Wrap the first petal around the stem and secure it with ribbon.

Do the same with the remaining petals.

5. Making leaves. Prepare 3 wires and wrap them in crepe paper. Next you need to glue the leaves to them, which must be prepared in advance.

6. Making a rose cup. Cut a strip of green crepe paper.

Attach the strip to the base of the cup using adhesive tape (you can replace it with glue).

Attach the leaves to the stem. Make one common stem and decorate it with green crepe paper.

Paper rose. Method IV

You will need:

Printable template

Printer

Scissors

Stick, toothpick, skewer or wire

Pencil

1. To make such a paper rose you need to download a flower template

Scheme of how to make a rose

2. After which you printed out the template, cut out the petals and leaves.

* Take a close look at the template, where all the petals and leaves are numbered.

3. Use scissors to bend the ends of the petals on both sides.

4. Three green leaves also need to be bent in half lengthwise.

5. Prepare a toothpick, thin wire, stick or skewer and twist petal number 1 around it. Use glue to secure everything.

6. Now around twisted petal number 1 you need to wrap petals number 2 and 3 and also secure with glue.

7. You need to glue petals 4, 5, 6, 7 together to make something similar to cones (see photo).

8. Collect and glue all the parts of the flower together!

You can find roses in other colors by clicking on the links below.

DIY paper roses. Method V

Like the previous roses, this one can be made in any color. The example shows the color red.

1. Prepare colored cardboard. Draw a spiral on it. Try to make the line that you draw from the center to the periphery not even, but a little wavy.

2. Using scissors, make a cut along the entire drawn line. You should get something similar to the peel of a peeled apple.

3. Now you need to wrap your spiral around your pencil. Try to wrap tightly until you reach the middle. After this, you need to remove the pencil and let the flower straighten out.

* Using your fingers, you can try to slightly bend the paper petals in the central part.

4. Apply a lot of glue in the center and let it flow into the central part of the spiral. In order for the glue to set well, you need to press the entire structure to the bottom.

DIY corrugated rose

You will need:

Corrugated paper (pink and green)

Scissors

Wire (straightened paperclip or skewer)

1. Prepare pink or red corrugated paper and fold it several times, first lengthwise and then widthwise.

2. Using scissors, cut out what looks like double petals, shaped like hearts. In this way, you can make 8 petals at once with one cutout.

* In the video, the petals are simply cut out of paper, but you can first draw them on it and then cut them out.

3. Each group of petals should be slightly crushed to give more naturalness. You can stretch it by pressing your fingers into the middle part.

4. Now you need to cut a strip 3 cm wide from a roll of corrugated paper (choose the length yourself, based on the video tutorial). Apply glue along the strip.

5. You need to put a short length of wire at one end of the tape (you can replace it with a straightened paperclip or skewer) and wrap the entire strip around it. This way you will get the core of the rose. It is to this that you will further glue the petals.

6. All that remains is to apply glue to the petals and attach them to the central part.

7. At the final stage, you need to make leaves from green paper. To do this, fold the green crepe paper in half and half again, and cut the shape of the petals as shown in the video.

* In the video, a foam rubber strip is pressed against the wire, and then green paper is wrapped around the wire along with the foam rubber.
