Good afternoon, craftswomen!

Today I’m in a “sweet” mood, so we’ll knit something like this knitted cakes. Such pies will become a great gift for any sweet tooth!

My sister really loves sweets, and I wanted to knit her small present, especially since she is going abroad soon. So my cakes will sweeten her evenings)))

To knit such a cake, we will need some colored yarn, a hook, some crocheting skills and various decorations. So, in order.

Note: To avoid confusion with colors and details, let's agree that I will describe the blue cake.

We will need:

1. yarn in blue, light brown and dark brown colors;

3. filler, for example, padding polyester;

4. cardboard base;

5. a needle with a wide eye, a needle with a thin eye (for beads), scissors;

Legend:

senior biological sciences- single crochet;

P- increase (2 single crochets in one loop);

U- decrease (we knit 2 loops together);

(m st.b.n., P)*n times- knit m senior biological sciences, P and repeat everything n once.

Our cake will consist of several parts: base (dark brown), top with cream (blue), cake mold (light brown).

Knitting the base

We will knit the main part with dark brown yarn. We start with , and then follow the table.

Row

Number of senior biological sciences

6 (amigurumi ring)

48 for the back wall

10 -13

14-15

52: (11 st.b.n., P)*4 times

16-17

56: (12 st.b.n., P)*4 times

18-19

60: (13 st.b.n., P)*4 times

We break the thread, fasten it and hide it.

We knit the top with cream

We knit according to the table.

Row

Number of senior biological sciences

6 (amigurumi ring)

4 -5

10-11

17-18

We don’t break the thread, but use it to connect the top to the base using a series of single crochets. When you have connected about half of the loops, you can put a cardboard circle into the base so that the bottom of our cake is even. We continue to connect both parts. Leaving a small hole, fill the cake with padding polyester. We close the hole.

Binding the edge of the top with cream

Making a beautiful harness:

1 st.b.n., 1 pst.1.n. (half double crochet), 2 tbsp. 1.n. in one loop, 1 pst.1.n., 1 st.b.n., 1 d.st. (connecting post).

We repeat this around the entire perimeter.

It will be more convenient to sew this binding so that it does not bulge too much.

Cream design

For greater naturalness, you can make small tightening in the part with cream. To do this, take a needle with the blue thread from which the top was knitted, and begin to thread the needle in a spiral almost from the very top to the end of the part with the cream. We tighten the thread a little, secure it and hide the toys inside.

Now you can embroider the top with beads.

Cake tin

The bottom of the mold is a circle, the same as in the main part of the cake, only 1 row more (not 48 loops, but 54).

Now "accordion". We knit it according to the “rubber band crochet” principle, i.e. turning rows each time behind the back wall of the loop. Then we will have a corrugated mold. We dial 10 v.p. and start knitting in the second loop from the hook. And to make an extension, we knit each even row like this: 5 double crochets, 4 crochet 1 crochets, and the odd row, on the contrary, 4 crochet 1 crochets, 5 double crochets. At the end of each row we make a lifting air loop. So you need to knit approximately 46 rows, close the “accordion” and sew it to the bottom circle.

That's all! We put our cake in the mold and voila!

To knit pastries and cakes you will need:
- remnants of cotton yarn of various colors;
- leftovers over fine yarn(for example, Floss or Iris) - for knitting decorations (flowers and berries);
- hook suitable size;
— filler (sintepon is best);
- ribbons, beads, etc. For decoration.

Rows 7-11 (5 rows): knit without changes.

12 row ( white border): switch to knitting with white thread and knit as follows: 1 tbsp. b/n, 3 vp, skip 1 tbsp. b/n of the previous row and knit 1 tbsp. b/n. Repeat until the end of the row.

Rows 11 and 12 can be repeated 1-2 more times to create a whipped cream effect around the edge of the cake.

Row 13: * decrease, 4 tbsp. b/n*. Repeat * 6 times [= 30 tbsp. b/n].

Row 14: * decrease, 3 tbsp. b/n*. Repeat * 6 times [= 24 tbsp. b/n].

Row 16: * decrease, 1 tbsp. b/n*. Repeat * 6 times [= 12 tbsp. b/n].

Row 17: *decrease*. Repeat * until the hole is completely closed.

Whipped Cream Decoration:

1st row: cast on 2 ch with white thread. and close it in a ring. Knit 6 tbsp. b/n. [= 6 tbsp. b/n]. Next knit in the round.

2nd row: * increase *. Repeat * 6 times [= 12 tbsp. b/n].

3rd row: * increase, 1 tbsp. b/n*. Repeat * 6 times [= 18 tbsp. b/n].

4 row: 1 tbsp. b/n behind the front wall of the loop, ch 3, skip 1 tbsp. b/n of the previous row and knit 1 tbsp. b/n for the front wall of the loop. Repeat until the end of the row.

Row 5: Single crochet, catching only the back wall of the loops of the 3rd row [= 18 tbsp. b/n]

Row 6: 1 tbsp. b/n behind the front wall of the loop, ch 3, skip 1 tbsp. b/n of the previous row and knit 1 tbsp. b/n for the front wall of the loop. Repeat until the end of the row.

Row 7: Single crochet, catching only the back wall of the stitches of the 5th row [= 18 sts. b/n]

Row 8: 1 tbsp. b/n behind the front wall of the loop, ch 3, skip 1 tbsp. b/n of the previous row and knit 1 tbsp. b/n for the front wall of the loop. Repeat until the end of the row.

Ready-made pastries and cakes can be decorated with knitted fruits, berries and flowers; you can also embroider patterns that imitate decoration with chocolate, jelly, etc.
Knitting patterns for various fruits and berries are presented in Natalia Vidmer’s master classes.

Cake
In pink, tie an amigurumi ring or ch 3 and connect. Art. in the first stitch to make a ring.
KR 1: ch 1, 6 sc in loop. (6) Do not close ranks. Knit in a spiral.
KR 2: (2 sc) x 6 times (12)
KR 3: [(2 sc), 1 sc] x 6 times (18)
KR 4: [(2 sc), 2 sc] x 6 times (24)
KR 5: [(2 sc), 3 sc] x 6 times (30)
KR 6: [(2 RLS), 4 RLS] x 6 times (36) Connect. Art. next loop to close.
KR 7: 1 ch, behind the back walls of the loops 36 RLS exactly in a circle. Conn. Art. into the first loop to bind off. (36)
KR 8: 1 ch, behind the back walls of the loops 36 RLS exactly in a circle. Conn. Art. into the first loop to bind off. (36)
KR 9: ch 1, behind the back walls of the loops [decrease, 4 sc] x 6 times. (30) Do not close the rows until the end of the cupcake.
KR 10: Knit on both sides of the loops, [decrease, 3 sc] x 6 times. (24)
KR 11: [decrease, 2 sc] x 6 times (18)
KR 12: [decrease, 1 sc] x 6 times (12) Do not stuff tightly. This is only necessary to maintain its shape, there is no need for it to swell. It should look like a hockey puck.
KR 13: decrease x 6 times, conn. Art. next loop to close. (6)

Break the thread, leaving a tail of 25.5 cm. Pull the thread through the front walls of the remaining 6 sc and tighten. Tie the end of the thread. If your cupcake seems too puffed up, stitch through the center of the cupcake a couple of times and tie off the thread. Hide the ends of the threads.

Glaze
You can knit in one or two colors. If you are using 2 colors, knit 2 rows in one color, 2 rows in the other. If you have any questions about crocheting cake frosting, please contact video, it is clearly shown there.

Chocolate color ch 21
Row 1: Skip 1 ch, 20 sc to end. (20)

THE REST IS KNITTED INTO THE BACK WALLS OF THE LOOPES.

Row 2: ch 1, unfold. (2 sc), 17 sc to end, decrease. (20) If you are knitting in two colors, add white. No need to knit thread chocolate color. Leave it and then continue through 2 rows white. Alternate colors every 2 rows.
Row 3: ch 1, unfold. Decrease, 17 sc to end. (2 sc) (20)
Alternate rows 2 and 3 until you get 22 rows.

If you are knitting in one color, break the thread, leaving a tail for sewing.

If you are knitting in two colors, knit another row, which will be a repeat of row 3, and then break off, leaving a tail for sewing.

To get the tube shape, sew the last row cupcake to the first row of cupcake with a double stitch across the edge to look like a row of single crochets. Tie, but do not cut the thread, thread the needle.

To close the end of the tube, pull the thread over the edge. Sew through one row. You can also hide the ends of the threads inside the tube so you don't have to hide them later. Pull the hole tight. You should get a good spiral. Tie the end of the thread. Do not trim.

Insert the needle into the center of the spiral to the other side. Close this end of the tube as you did before, pulling the thread through and tightening. You should end up with a spiral icing that will look great on your knitted amigurumi cake.

Cherry
In red (20.3 cm) knit an amigurumi ring or 3 ch and connect. Art. in the first stitch to make a ring.
KR 1: ch 1, 6 sc in loop. (6) Do not close ranks.
KR 2-3: 6 sc in a circle. (6) Conn. Art. next loop to close. Break the thread, leaving a tail of 25.5 cm.
Wrap the 8-inch tail around your finger and tuck it inside the cherry.

Using a tapestry needle, pull the tail through the 6 remaining stitches and tighten. Tie the end of the thread. Insert the needle into the center at the bottom and pull it out from the top, dragging the thread with it. Decide how long you want the cherry stick to be and tie a knot there. Cut the yarn close to the knot.

You need to knit 2 circles with a diameter of about 8 cm. Wrap the thread once around your finger, knit 6 single crochets (dc) into the resulting ring, and cast on 2 chain stitches to lift. Next we knit in a spiral, without lifting loops. Mark the beginning of each row with contrasting thread. At the end of the work, pull it out. 2nd row: double the number of stitches (in each stitch of the previous row we knit 2 tbsp. b/n. = 12 tbsp. b/n.

3rd row: we make increases through 1 loop: *knit 1 loop, knit 2 loops in the next column*, repeat from * to *, in total we get 18 loops.
4th row: we make increases through 2 loops: *we knit 2 loops without increases, in the next column we knit 2 loops*, repeat from * to *, in total we get 24 loops.

5th row: we make increases through 3 loops: * we knit 3 loops without increases, in the next column we knit 2 loops *, repeat from * to *, in total we get 30 loops.

6th row: we make increases through 4 loops: *we knit 4 loops without increases, in the next column we knit 2 loops*, repeat from * to *, in total we get 36 loops.

It’s better to “scatter” the increases around the circle (not on top of each other), then you won’t get a hexagon shape. Knit the second part in the same way.

Two bases are ready. Now we knit the side. Cast on 5 chain stitches, plus 2 for lifting. Knit in single crochets for 43 rows. The side length is approximately 22 cm. Leave the end of the thread for gathering.

Sew the side panel seam to seam with a darning needle to create a ring.

The seam should be “flat”. Now we will knit the white cream - cream for the cake.

We knit the first 4 rows similarly to the bases of the cake, only with a white thread in a spiral. We knit the fifth row with double crochets, tie 3 air loops for lifting. Next we knit *2 double crochets in the loop of the previous row, 3 double crochets in the next stitch*, repeat from *to*. The edge should be wavy.

In order for the base to be flat, I advise you to sew thin cardboard to the bases. Sew white cream to the top base.

Tie a strawberry as a decoration. The strawberry knitting pattern is here.

Sew strawberries onto the cream. It can be any other knitted fruit.

Using a darning needle, sew the base and sides using over-edge stitches.

The cake is ready! My daughter asks for a dozen more of these, so that there will be enough for all the dolls.
