But we will knit those 3 loops that form the ears at the corners together in one fell swoop. That is, make a decrease. We knit along the base without increasing, and in 2 places we decrease by 3 loops.

In the next row we do the same. But we knit a new row with an increase at the base. And in the ears we also reduce it. We knit the next rows without increases, but with decreases in the ears. When the ears are formed, knit in the round without increasing or decreasing to the desired depth of the hat.
